Hip, Hip, Rehab!

By

The Yankee trainers checked in with the folks in Vegas, and it sounds like Jorge’s rehab is going well. The Yankee catcher is one week into his throwing program and seems determined to put his disappointing and injury-plagued 2008 behind him. A healthy Jorge would do wonders for the Yankees next season.

If you scream out “Jorge” just about anywhere in Vegas, you will get about a dozen women to come up to you and say “You called me?”

  2. Lancer says:

one week into his throwing problem? Or did you mean assignment?

  3. Stryker says:

obviously i don’t think jorge will put together another 2007, but it’s also safe to say the yankees severely missed him last season.

  4. VO says:

Lets just hope for a healthy Jorge and a productive Cano, recipe to success.

  5. VO says:

We have to put together even a fake contract to make the price to high for the Redsux we cannot let that deal happen.

  6. Bill says:

Sorry for off-topic but can someone help me find the defensive difference between Church and Milledge ? Like range, zone rating or w.e.. Where is a sight where I can find this ?

  7. VO says:

Why would we want a guy who wants to play for the dodgers, his heart wont be with new york and i dont think we want a guy playing for the paycheck, i mean when you interview Derek Jeter what does he always say? “its a pleasure to put the pinstripes on” will CC be able to say that?

    • Ben K. says:

Is the world always black and white to you?

      • VO says:

why am i seeing it in black and white?

        • Ben K. says:

Because there are article we’ve posted today with quotes from Brian Cashman saying that if Sabathia comes to New York, the Yanks are confident he will fully embrace the pinstripes.

There’s also a big difference between preferring to play in California as a top choice and your construct of it which is that he doesn’t want to play in New York. He could want to play in more than one place but prefer one of those locales over the other. It’s not black and white.

          • VO says:

alright well i havent seen those articles from cashman all i have seen was collettis comments, that “he wants to be a dodger”.

            • Dude, the comments saying that he wants to be a Dodger came from THE DODGERS.

              Consider the source.

              • VO says:

well yea your right but the comments saying hell embrace the pinstripes came from the pinstripes so i mean well just have to wait and see how it plays out, right now i think the yankees do have the upper hand

                • Ben K. says:

So you’re inclined to rely on and regurgitate the Dodgers’ comments here but you’re going to doubt the Yankees’ comments? That’s inconsistent.

                • VO says:

im not saying that at all, believe me i pray everytime i open my laptop that that the headlines read “Sabathia signs with Yankees” but like i said before most of what i have read today has said the dodgers and not the yankees, thats why i posted the first comment, now i have gotten to some articles that has cashmans view, its all about what you read, im not taking anyones word over anyone elses

                • VO says:

im just trying to be unbiased and not bring it too much that the yanks have this one in the bag

        • Take your 10 most favorite Yankees of all time. Guess what: 5 of em probably hated NYC and didn’t really want to be here.

But they played here, and won here, so they got over it to some degree.

          • VO says:

like i said im not doubting hell do good im just saying i dont want them paying this guy up the you know what to make up for the fact that were not california

    • i mean when you interview Derek Jeter what does he always say? “its a pleasure to put the pinstripes on” will CC be able to say that?

Can Derek Jeter throw a complete game shutout?

      • VO says:

you know im not doubting his ability im doubting how much he would want to be a yankee over another team, why should we have to bribe this guy with 160 million to be a yankee, if they have to raise the offer from 140 then i dont care how many shoutouts he throws hes not quite worth it.

        • why should we have to bribe this guy with 160 million to be a yankee, if they have to raise the offer from 140 then i dont care how many shoutouts he throws hes not quite worth it.

          This is batshit insane.

        • pat says:

i dont care how many shoutouts he throws hes not quite worth it.

Actually, he’d definately be worth it.

          • VO says:

alright well i guess everyone has there opinnion and that just sports all im saying is i dont think we should be paying 60 million a year between him and arod, the game should be more then money

            • pat says:

It would be closer to 46 mil but thats not the point. The point is if we dont give him the loot then somebody else will. Now congratulations we are out a certifiable ace because you wanted to make some stupid protest concerning the escalating salaries in professional sports.

              • VO says:

alright lets calmn down now, and not overreact i make one post about CC not really wanting to play in new york cause I READ one article on it and i have people jumping at me like crazy, im sure CC is a great player, I REALLY LIKE him, thats all.

                • ceciguante says:

VO, i think you make a point about paying a guy an exorbitant sum to play for a city or a team he may not want to pitch for. i have a friend (avid yanks fan) who can’t stand the notion of, as he puts it, “bribing” CC to play in the bronx.

i think it’s a valid concern, but i disagree. i don’t think a guy like CC — who showed his mettle by asking for the ball on short rest down the stretch for the brewers — would simply take the extra cash and not give his all. that’s just my take. of course, i also don’t believe that reading a few articles allows us to know what CC really thinks. so it’s a lot of guesswork, imho.

just keep in mind: on this site, there are some very entrenched viewpoints. if you disagree with them, you quickly get swarmed by some very irate and sometimes obnoxious posters. some guys just can’t handle different opinions so well. proceed with caution.

  8. VO says:

Also I dont care how serious the nationals are I think teixiera would be a complete retard to sign with them, like i said before just for the money? come on

  9. VO says:

And no matter how many positive articles i read on Burnett, i still believe hes a good pitcher but he reminds me too much of Pavano

    • Old Ranger says:

Come on VO you’re on a roll, don’t stop now.
Actually, the problem may be, we have gotten so many postings from hatters that some may have taken it as that. Poor chose of words can get one in deep dodo sometimes.
Good question to begin with, trouble is…we have heard it before from others that bore us ill will.
      Keep trucking kid, doing fine.
It sounds as if we may have the inside track (we should) with CC. I am a very patient guy, so I can wait for the time to be right for CC and the Yanks. I wouldn’t want to be in Cashs’ shoes if we miss out…no mater what the reason. 27/09.
