Is it just me, or is Giambi going to be one of the biggest bargains this offseason? Is there any chance he signs for over $8 million, or for more than 2 years? Maybe I’ve been reading his market completely wrong. But anyway, if you take away the expectation that he’ll play the field more than once a week, then you’re getting a DH who’s basically guaranteed a .900 OBS while healthy. I think a team like Tampa, LA of Anaheim or Oakland should jump at Giambi. He’d be the perfect #5 hitter on all those clubs, while costing a hell of a lot less than Manny, Burrell or Dunn.
