"im sorry, i sent you a long email. hopefully it makes sense. if it doesnt feel free to make fun of me."

----------------------------

jsbrendog: Hello. Hope I'm not disturbing you, but, uh, I saw you from across the party, and, uh, I don't usually do this, but I felt compelled to tell you something.

You have... an absolutely breathtaking... heinie.
I mean, that thing is good. I want to be friends with it.

Mike A.: Well, you certainly know how to compliment a blogger. Now, if you'll excuse me.

jsbrendog: Do you know who I am?

Mike A.: No, I can't say that I do.

jsbrendog: I don't know how to put this, but I'm kind of a big deal.

Mike A.: Really?

jsbrendog: People know me.

Mike A.: I'm very happy for you.

jsbrendog: I'm very important. I have... many leather-bound books, and my apartment smells of rich mahogany.
I... I'm friends with Merlin Olsen, too. He comes over… on occasion. That's stupid.

Mike A.: No, no, that's…very exciting.

jsbrendog: Listen, can I... can I start over again?

Mike A.: Sure.

jsbrendog: I wanna say something. I'm gonna put it out there. If you like it, you can take it. If you don't, send it right back.

Mike A.: Mm-hmm.

jsbrendog: I wanna be ON you.

Mike A.: …

jsbrendog: Wait. Wait, wait, wait, wait, wait. I... I WANNA BE ON YOU.

Now that the Camereon deal is dead do you see the Yanks going after Dave DeJesus and what will it take to get him if the Royals are willing to trade him?

Would it make sense to start locking up guys like Joba and Wang to long-term deals and possibly buy out some of their free agent years? I realize it's much riskier to do this with pitchers than position players but I would think Joba's floor is now a dominant reliever with his ceiling being an ace both of which are very valuable.

Hey guys,

I see a lot of comments about IPK and that he "only" projects to be a #5 starter at MLB level, as if this is a bad thing and means we should jettison him immediately for whatever we can get back.

But it seems that these same commentors then want to spend $10m on bringing in Andy Pettitte to fill that same role.

Surely developing IPK to fill the #5 slot makes more sense than potentially having a succession of well paid 1 or 2 year fill-ins?

Given he's at an age where most pitchers would be more than happy to be landing in AAA let alone at MLB level I'm interested to hear how you guys rate him as a prospect, and whether you think he can indeed fill that #5 starter role for a prolonged period in the Bronx?

Thanks,

Mark.

Mike, I would say you're the king of hilariously pointless live blogs, but after reading Eric Seidman's live blog of Moneyball last year I think you might fall just a bit short.
