joking aside I think he is right. There has to be some internal solution just as good as mike cameron. Plus didnt someone throw some stat out there about how mike cameron isnt clutch or whatever. My guess is brett gardner will suffice next year... hopefully.

Nobody is “close frends” with AROD.
He’s too weird to have those kinds of friendships.

Alex Rodriguez = Patrick Bateman

Wait, that pisses you off?

The deal originally was reported as Melky for Cameron straight up. Then it became Melky PLUS ONE for Cameron.

If they want us to kick in a second player, they have to eat some salary. If they don't want to eat salary, they only get Melky.

How is that wrong?

That's a valid point, and that's the only thing that kinda saddens me. But, we'd still probably be looking at an outfield arrangement of either:

Damon-Cameron-Nady (Matsui DH)
Nady-Cameron-Dunn (Damon DH)
Manny-Cameron-Nady (Damon DH)

In any of those events, Gardner would be the 4th OF, and with either Damon, Dunn, or Manny in the OF, he'd have plenty of opportunities to be a late-inning replacement (or pick up a spot-start when we give someone a rest).

It's not ideal (for Gardner), but it's not the end of the world. I could still see him getting at least 200 PA's, even with Cameron.

Including Cameron does make this team better. Would you rather have someone hitting .250 with 10 home runs and getting on base 30% of the time, or would you rather have .250 with 20 home runs and getting on base 34% of the time?

For 10 million bucks, I'd laugh at both players.

"It’s common knowledge that Cameron is close friends with ARod and CC.

Bringing a close friend of our best pitcher and best hitter to the team for 1 year seems like a good idea to me."

Nobody is "close frends" with AROD.
He's too weird to have those kinds of friendships.

And I can almost guarentee that this deal was in place BEFORE Sabathia signed, as a way to further entice him to come to the YAnkees.

The way Cashman does business is embarassing. HE shows up at these meetings looking like the like the HS kid who's dad bought him a Mercedes to drive to school.

This is my favorite part:

"Joel Sherman says that the pitching prospect will depend on how much of Cameron’s $10 million salary Milwaukee is willing to absorb."

LMAO!!!!!!!! The Yankees are throwing money around like it's water, and all of a sudden they're gonna toss out a prospect at a level dependent upon how much Yankee pocket change the Brewers pick up from Cameron's deal?
Does it really matter at this point?

Of course, none of this gives mention to the fact that Brett Gardner will now not get a chance to show what he can do as an everyday player. And a guy with his speed could be very beneficial hitting at the top of the lineup. It would have been nice to see if he could progress into a real threat. But the Yankees lack patience.

I mean, we all know Cameron is better than Cabrera, so it's stupid to compare..................it's a salary dump deal.
