The Mets came out and pretty much said this week that, based on where their payroll is right now and what their ’09 targets are, they cannot afford him. I don't know about the Angels because I haven't been watching Tony Reagins' every move. The numbers also can't hide a guy who's won two more World Series (and a WS MVP) since the last time the Yanks' won a title. What are you basing it on?
