Sabathia’s Twitter account a fake?

By

For shame. Mark Newman (not that Mark Newman) of MLBlogs confirmed that CC Sabathia’s Twitter account is a fake. Nick Swisher’s account has been verified and is legit. It’s too bad, but it was fun while it lasted.

Oh, and third base prospect Bradley Suttle launched a blog yesterday. In his first (and only) post, he reveals that he had shoulder surgery at the end of 2008 and is currently rehabbing. That was news to me. Make sure you check it out. (h/t Patrick)

Update (11:57am): Paulie points out that CC’s official site links to his Twitter page, so maybe Newman’s report is wrong. Hmmm…

CC Sabathia: “What the F*CK is Twitter?”

  2. Paulie says:

Does this mean that CC’s site is also fake? It would only make sense because his site has a link to this twitter page that is supposedly fake.

According to PeteAbe, word out of Mets camp is that Santana’s out “indefinitely” with the sore elbow.

Where’s that guy who was sure it was “soreness from training”?

What is up with this weird Twitter stuff?

People are actually interested in reading what Nick Swisher or any other athlete is doing during their day?

Sounds pretty creepy to me. Along with facebook and myspace. Bunch of stuff for losers who aren’t social and like to stalk/spy on people.

It searches twitter, facebook and a couple other places like that for a given term…sometimes it pulls up pretty interesting stuff!

I mean.. they’re the ones ‘twitting’(?).. They’re posting what they’re doing and trying to share with the fans.. It’s not like we’re hiding in the bush updating the site on what they’re doing.. :)

I think its another level of getting closer to the fans that the internet has perhaps given us now..

You’re right, MJ, probably just a weird fad. Just like blogging, the internet, televisions, telephones, and electric incandescent lights.

You have something to say? Messenger pigeons and town criers. Everything else is bullshit for nerds and stalkers.

I follow Shaq on Twitter and the dude is pretty funny. Not only that, but he also tells you where he is and often tells you to come hang out with him if he’s in a public place. Like blee said, it’s just another way for the fans to get closer to the athletes.

Jorge has been scratched today with shoulder discomfort, per Pete Abe. Hopefully nothing major.
