I follow Shaq on Twitter and the dude is pretty funny. Not only that, but he also tells you where he is and often tells you to come hang out with him if he’s in a public place. Like blee said, it’s just another way for the fans to get closer to the athletes.

What is up with this weird Twitter stuff?
People are actually interested in reading what Nick Swisher or any other athlete is doing during their day?
Sounds pretty creepy to me. Along with facebook and myspace. Bunch of stuff for losers who aren’t social and like to stalk/spy on people.

You’re right, MJ, probably just a weird fad. Just like blogging, the internet, televisions, telephones, and electric incandescent lights.

You have something to say? Messenger pigeons and town criers. Everything else is bullshit for nerds and stalkers.

I mean.. they’re the ones ‘twitting’(?).. They’re posting what they’re doing and trying to share with the fans.. It’s not like we’re hiding in the bush updating the site on what they’re doing..

I think its another level of getting closer to the fans that the internet has perhaps given us now..
