Tim Hudson? Roy Oswalt? Brandon Webb? Santana and Sabathia also both have arguably better stats. In addition, Halladay hasn't always been the model of health. An ace that gets a lot of strike outs, a lot of groundballs, doesn’t allow baserunners, keeps the ball in the ballpark, works efficiently and economically, and goes deep into games with a solid, repeatable, fairly-stress free delivery. Roy Halladay has probably been the best pitcher of the post Pedro era. (Yes, that includes Santana and Sabathia.) If you think about it, Halladay is the ultimate goal that young pitchers should emulate and would love to become someday.
