No he isn’t. That play has been a bush league play in any league long before AROD did it. Don’t make it out to be an AROD thing. And screaming at a player while you’re running behind him as he’s about to catch a fly ball is garbage as well.

I like the way Alex plays baseball. He hustles, takes the extra base, and has great savvy. But those two plays were bullshit, regardless of who does it.

Oh, right……you really need a strong microscope to dig up info on a guy who cheats on his wife IN FULL PUBLIC VIEW, does steroids, gets dropped off at practice by his roid dealer, knocks opposing players in magazine cover stories, and is part of a prostitution ring in which the madam freely brags about the emails.

A microscope? All you need to dig up dirt on this guy is a Poloroid camera!

Oh, please. You know that’s not the way the world works. In every walk of life, you know damn well that the press does not just report exclusively about your occupation.

If the press reported only on AROD’s homers, or Marbury’s jump shots, or Trump’s real estate deals, or Jack Nicholson’s last great movie role, nobody would care.

People who want to be rich and famous know full well that part of the deal is to watch your social actions or they will be reported. This should not be shocking to any of them.

If they don’t like it, they can go sell Insurance.

Moral issues have ALWAYS been important to the average person. The only reason peple don’t really care anymore about AROD’s antics is because they’re too piled up to even keep track of anymore.

If Jeter was involved in a prostitution ring, it would ne a “stop the presses” major deal. But at this point, it’s become par for the course with AROD.

Rodriquez is not a bad guy……..he’s just a bad decision maker…….and he doesn’t exactly go out of his way to hide paper trails either.

The ‘A-Rod Double Standard’ is always in play.

It’s all BS… I hope he really is able to put people’s perception of him in the rearview mirror, play ball, and let his Mo-given talents take over.

In fairness to A-Rod there is no other player in baseball more under the microscope than him. If he craps the wrong color it’s in the paper the next day. If people are determined to dig up dirt on you, they will find it. If they can’t then they will make it up. I will say this though, being seen publicly with the cousin you said was shooting you up with steroids days earlier is just asking for trouble.

I agree, there are some natural tendencies to be drawn to the big stars and their mistakes. I just happen to be doing a paper right now on the role that the media played in the Jack the Ripper case and I’m doing a section on the sensationalist headlines creating the story, rather than the story creating the news.

But I understand what you’re saying, I think it’s a little bit of both the media and ARod’s fault, feels like you can’t have one without the other sometimes.
