Celebrating a new stadium

By Benjamin Kabak

The PR folks representing Utz, the ten-year potato chip sponsor of the Yankees, sent along the above image this week. The company is offering up a special new Yankee Stadium edition of their chip bag. It’ll be available at the Stadium this year and throughout the New York area. I’d imagine that just about every company associated with the Yankees will be running similar promos this year. After all, we know that New Era hopped on board that train, and now Utz has too.

I been thinking are the yanks still gonna bring the YMCA and the train race and cotton eye Joe to the new stadium.

Matt says:

I hope not…I wouldn’t mind…I hope not.

Tom Zig says:

Seconded

Although if you had to choose one between:

Cotton Eyed Joe, Macarena, and YMCA…which would it be?

Ben K. says:

They haven’t played the Macarena at the stadium in years, but I think I’d choose:

D. Stab out my ears.

Tom Zig says:

Hmmm I should have included that in the options.

Either that or option D should be: “Being Peter Gammons’ orthodontist while listening to Joe Buck and Joe Morgan debate the usage of statistical analysis”

YMCA was in my opinion, the most tolerable.

pat says:

Haha, Ben you could stab out your eyes all you want but you’d still have to listen to it.

pat says:

Oh god I suck so so so so bad. Ignore me please move along folks

Tom Zig says:

Ben said “ears”

Kevin G. says:

“Making a ‘FAIL’ comment 15 minutes after the guy realized his mistake and noted it” FAIL.

I understand commemorative patches on hats…but bags of potato chips? Interesting I guess

Artist formerly known as 'The' Steve says:

If they could put a little interlocking “NY” on each potato chip, then I’ll be impressed.

Tom Zig says:

The chips have to be pinstriped though, otherwise no dice.

27 this year says:

and navy blue. If they get the color wrong just send it back.
