What else do you really expect Florida to do, though? They have no fan base and no revenue stream that supports the team. Even during their title runs, the stadium was half empty. If they paid the big bucks to retain all those Kevin Browns and Gary Sheffields and Al Leiters and Josh Becketts, they’d have gone bankrupt.

ORLANDO, Florida — Alex Rodríguez no solamente se perderá jugar con República Dominicana en el Clásico Mundial de Béisbol, sino que se perdería el primer mes de la temporada con los Yanquis de Nueva York después que un examen médico revelara que debe ser operado inmediatamente de un quiste en la cadera, dijo un hermano del pelotero a ESPNdeportes.com.

Joe Rodríguez informó que A-Rod será operado este próximo lunes en Colorado y necesitaría cerca de 10 semanas para rehabilitarse.

“Para toda la familia es un golpe muy fuerte, Alex está destrozado”, dijo Joe Rodríguez. “Todos estábamos muy enstusiasmado de verlo jugando con Republica Dominicana en el Clásico Mundial”, agregó.

But but people tell me baseball needs a salary cap because the Yankees buy up all the FA’s. Its sad how “polar opposites” those two teams really are but I been arguing with people for years about how Florida makes little to no effort in keeping a consistent team.I mean do they really expect people to keep coming back to the stadium when they offload players after a championship.
