Yanks/Bears/Illinois Hate the NBA and don't like hockey

What do you guys/gals say to the salary cap argument? I've tried reasoning/logic/facts, but I can't get my point across.

Thanks for all of the reads and comments both positive and negative. In the first twenty or so comments, people questioned my sanity for saying people root for the Cowboys and the Yankees. In the last 2/3 of the comments three people courageously stepped forward to admit that they do. Many New Yorkers commented without understanding the article was about Yankee fans in the Cleveland area. These are the same folke who called me retarded, even after it was pointed out in these very comments that the article was not about New York fans. Wanna color? No hard feelings to anyone here, enjoy those thousand dollar seats behind home plate and go Nets!

I take offense to this...and there are several reasons.

In my life of sports fandom, the Yankees have been the lone bright spot in a universe of indescribable heartbreak. If only I were so lucky to be born in LA, Detroit, or Dallas.

No, I was born in upstate New York, closer to cleveland than the city in fact.

I've been a yankees fan since I learned to read box scores at age three and told my dad every morning how mattingly hit the night before. I was 14 when they won their first championship.

What about other sports? surely I love all the other teams that win all the time, right?

anybody ever heard of the Buffalo Bills? there is no team in organized sports harder to stay loyal to than the Bills. Although, at least they never abandoned their city like some other teams on lake erie. Anyway, I was still young enough to cry about it when Norwood missed wide right, and I did. It hasn't gotten any easier. If the scientists of the world had as much creativity in the lab as the bills have in finding ways to lose, we would all have condos on the moon right now.

To the writer responsible for this article I have one thing to say, but I won't because this is a family blog. I'll just have to hope that someday we have a chance to talk about it in the bleachers in the bronx, or the parking lot of Ralph Wilson stadium.

at the same time, don't judge people from other cities and backgrounds who support the Yankees (i know many people who have moved to far away places and still root for their home team)

Yankees fan. That's it. I could care less about any other sport or team. I'll occasionally watch a new york team if I've got nothing else to do, but the rest is a waste of time. Need time to actually live my own life.
I especially hate college sports. Who needs to spend all this time learning about dozens of different teams you have no rooting interest in, just because? I don't get. I root for the Yankees, because my grandma hasn't missed a game in 30 odd years. It was born into my blood. No college team is born into your blood.

Oh and to be clear, I wasn't taking anthing away from the profiles. They're great, keep 'em coming, or not I guess. Draft coverage's going to be great. Eh, you lose some, you win some.

I try to focus on players that were drafted that year since not many people know anything about them. I'll throw in a couple other guys of course.
