I watched Friday’s broadcast of the Yankees vs. Cubs and I was shocked and appalled at what I witnessed. The camera shots from behind home plate were simply horrific! The ever-present mesh netting was intrusive, distracting and gave the telecast the look and feel of a spring training game! It’s astonishing that this $1.5 billion dollar palace could be designed with such a fatal flaw! Somehow, someway, something must be done to correct this problem. What a travesty!

I’m sure we can depend on Pete to point out everything that is wrong with everything. Looking forward to a long season of his negativity.

As someone said, the exhibition games are for these reasons. YES is a cash cow for the Yankees and they’re going to have television viewing as a priority. For anyone to think otherwise is stupid.

They’ve also done a good job of reacting to criticism about things (and hopefully the BP complaints get through) but if everyone is bitching about everything that will change.

Rachet down the hysteria.

Not only is the Stadium not good for TV it’s not good for the fans.

If you’re a season ticket holder watch out!

I paid full price for my season tickets; had a contract; paid everything and now a few weeks before the season the Yankees tell me they are changing my seat to 7 rows back for the same price!!!!

I said no and they told me to take a hike!!!

These were $28,000 seats!!!! Paid! And with a contract!

I know everyone will work out their problems with shooting (that’s why the people get paid good money at ESPN, YES, etc.) However, I also wonder if the Yanks realized they were creating shooting problems in the new construction. Clearly, things will be fixed and it probably is much ado about nothing. But it was interesting to see that a new stadium would be t.v.-unfriendly.
