Yes, my friends, there will be beer in the bleachers

By

This off-season has been filled with questions about the new Stadium. One of the most frequent ones we’ve heard, besides “when will single game tickets go on sale?” was about beer in the bleachers. Would the Yankees lift the eight-year ban on alcohol? It appears the answer is yes. No longer will the bleachers be barricaded off from the rest of the Stadium. There won’t be any beer vendors, but there will be no restrictions on carrying your brew back to your seat. At $6 for 12 ounces, it’s not much more than your typical New York bar (if it’s more at all).

$6 bucks is actually less than both Stans and Billy’s..which both charge $7.

Eight years from now, I will be drunk stoked.

$6? wow. tickjet prices went up and beer prices went down. hooray beeer

So, anybody know how strict they are on carding folks?

  5. Ed says:

To me, the main appeal of the bleachers was knowing I wouldn’t have to wear a beer courtesy of the drunk behind me. It’s hard to enjoy a game when you’re sitting near a couple of drunk guys.

I attribute this change to the bad economy.

our long national nightmare is over:

This has to be one of the most idiotic rule changes the Yankees have done. Not only do we have to put up with their stupid loud mouth bul–hit. We have to witness their drunkenness the whole game. They should not be aloud into the stadium until the bottom of the 8th inning. Then at least we can enjoy a baseball game in peace. Enclose the bunch of nitwits in a bubble !!!!!

I just hope the vendors don’t have “zones” anymore. In OYS, 3rd base half of the field only got Miller Lite and Coors Light Vendors (along with the occasional Becks guy) while 1B side had exclusively Bud Light. And just because they’re domestics doesn’t mean they “taste the same.”

I hope they sell chronic in the bleachers.

As I mentioned earlier about possibly trading for Keppinger, looks like the Astros got him for player to be named.
