Teixeira and A-Rod are hurt, hence weren’t playing. Matsui needs to rest with his knees, plus he isn’t hitting. All catchers take 1-2 days off a week. In the playoffs, all the starters will be playing since there are many off days.

Also, Duncan isn’t on the active roster.
