Swisher's good performance?!? When was the last time he had a hit? Last week? Had a hot 9 games (thanks for benching him the first 2 gms of the season in favor of the injured guy, Clueless Joe) before hitting the wall. Or actually hitting nothing. Got to love his attitude and fire, tho. Overall, more questions than ever before - Matsui, Georgie, ARod, Nady, WANG! (what up with him?!?), Gardner's not hitting and has a putrid on base %, Joba, Coke, Veras, etc, etc, etc. Sure appears to be a LOOOOOOOOOONG season in store, just like last year. Please - don't do that to us AGAIN.

I managed to leave Matsui out of my post, but he's another reason why I've lost some confidence. I figured that being solely a DH would keep him healthy, and when healthy he's a pretty good hitter. Two weeks into the season, he's got fluid in his knee. Eek.

Eh, I'm not ever inclined to rely on the words of the manager for valuable, truthful information.

Sometimes they say stuff just to say stuff.

Yea, you have to hope Girardi will send that lineup out there as little as possible and try to have either Molina and Melky in the lineup together as little as possible

I can absolute attest to this. I left my 400 level seat in the 6th inning and spent the rest of the game watching from the 100 concourse, right behind the empty, expensive seats. The view was incredible, and there were more engaged Yankee fans there than the tennis match that seemed to be taking place in the upper deck.

Gardner isn't getting heat b/c Ransom and Wang have figured out a way to make Gardner look productive so far. That and the lineup isn't exactly hot has allowed Gardner to make his way relatively unscathed so far.

Wang is a downright Yankee killer.

7, down from 8, due to Wanger and Nady.

Wang's got me scared now. I was still saying "oh, he'll be fine" until his last start. Now I'm worried he may have folded mentally. He's completely lost.

Nady was a useful player. I figure that's -1 win right there.

Ransom's awful (even worse than I thought he'd be), but ARod will be back soon. Gardner isn't doing what I'd hoped he'd do (get on base at a good enough rate to be an asset). Molina-Ransom-Gardner is FUGLY. And yet... the offense hasn't been bad. Boston & Tampa haven't gotten off to good starts either, which helps me not freak out too much.
