Yanks Fan says:

How long before we start seeing Yankee fans in these?

http://www.cnbc.com/id/30350785/

Klemy says:

Drew says:

Ha that’s the dude from the Real World.

Drew says:

Angry Again Axl says:

Remember what I said a little while ago. Mariano Rivera will be fine…once our lineup comes up a few times without scoring…our crappy bullpen will inevitably blow the game. Listen, it may sound pessimistic…but its realistic.

Mike Pop says:

Once again. That is quite a bold prediction to make. You must be some kind of genious.

pat says:

Nobody gives a shit.

Joey H says:

Here we go again. THROW SOME STRIKES EDWAR!

Angry Again Axl says:

Haha another leadoff runner on. This bullpen STINKS

Joey H says:

Would it kill you to try to root for the home team?

Angry Again Axl says:

I do root for them. I just hate the way we play.

Mike Pop says:

You hate how the bullpen throws pitches?

Joey H says:

Oh. I wasn’t aware “We” were playing. Just root for the god damned team ones on a while. Not every one of your comments have to be bashing them.

Angry Again Axl says:

Well now you’re aware. So get to work…and shine my shoes while you’re at it.

Joey H says:

http://yankees.lhblogs.com/ You can associate with your kind of people there, junior.

Holy crap.

Go root for the Mets.

Joey H says:

Or no. Here : lhblogs.com

I’d like to teach you something. If the bullpen was all Joba’s, and had a 3.00 ERA, it would give up a run every third inning. This is the bullpen’s 4th inning. Eventually, something will give, even in the best pens.

ClayBuchholzLovesLaptops says:

Nobody cares what you are saying, but I found you a site where you will be more than welcome:

http://yankees.lhblogs.com/

Huh? I’ll assume that wasn’t meant for me.

ClayBuchholzLovesLaptops says:

That was abviously not directed at you, Moshe.

Joey H says:

Bruney can’t go today?

Klemy says:

incoming sacrifice

BigBlueAL says:

So Bruney is definitely not available. Is there a reason for this???? I mean he pitched last night but not on Monday, pitched Sunday but not on Saturday so what gives??

A.D. says:

Setting up an “injury”

Liam says:

he pitched an inning or so yesterday, but they have off tomorrow so i don’t see why not.

Yanks Fan says:

How many pitches yesterday?

Heh, I remember when none of us would have wanted Bruney in the game…

Edwar, they’re called strikes.

Brazilian Yankee says:

This sucks, and even if we do get out of this inning, how the hell are we supposed to hit a guy named Outman?!

Klemy says:

Impending doom for sure. lol

Mike Pop says:

Outman is a pretty funny name.

Alex from The Bronx says:

LOL that was funny.

Drew says:

Jamal G. says:

Angry Again Axl says:

A.D. says:

BigBlueAL says:

Jorgie says Molina who!!!!

Angry Again Axl says:

Oh boy, here comes all your favorites…Jose Veras…

BigBlueAL says:

…Girardi, you are making my head hurt. A lot.

Jamal G. says:

Smart move by Girardi, I like this.

Drew says:

why the hell do these bat boys run with sharp objects in their hands?

kunaldo says:

i wondered the same thing…flailing his arms too…

Klemy says:

I’ve never been a fan of Jorge’s defense, but right now…I love you man.

Liam says:

$100 dollars says veras walks the leadoff hitter

Drew says:

leadoff hitter got a hit, off Edwar

Angry Again Axl says:

CMon, look who you’re offerin’ that to here…

Klemy says:

What are the odds he gives up a HR instead?

Liam says:

leadoff of the inning, my mistake

Liam says:

Matt M. says:

wow that was a braveheart-esq stick for those bats

Joey H says:

Now. Wow. Why Veras? Why not just leave Edwar in for the change ups to Giambi?

Klemy says:

Because anyone can throw away, away, away, to Giambi and let him roll over one to the right side.

Klemy says:

Haha. A walk. There’s a shocker.

Jamal G. says:

Because Edwar started both hitters off 2-0 and he doesn’t have the fastball to challenge a power hitter in a fastball count like Jose Veras does.

Angry Again Axl says:

The good part about all of this is that we don’t have anymore bullpen so if Oakland scores…what are you gonna do…

Matt M. says:

Mike Pop says:

Well, with your logic. Molina could pitch as well as all our relievers except for Mo.

pat says:

Just stop responding to this asshole he obviously has no other human interaction and this is his only outlet.

matt b says:

I don’t generally ever want to see Veras in a leverage spot, but I think this is the right move–bases empty, he only needs one out, better chance of keeping the ball in the park. Also, if he walks Giambi, I know the As have already used Davis, so maybe a situation where the runner isn’t scoring on a double.

That said, I thought Edwar has generally been nasty against lefties.

Pre-approval, let’s see if it works.

Matt says:

Edwar has a career OPSA of .818 vs. lefties, Jose has a .755.

matt b says:

Well the anticipated walk of the first guy he faces, nothing to see there.

Now here’s a choice–anyone consider pitching very very carefully to Holliday to get Raja, even if means putting a runner in SP?

Get Swisher loose.

Alex from The Bronx says:

I wonder if the Giambino heard of “Just For Men”.

Matt-Pitt says:

Man… At least Edwar threw strikes…

Matt M. says:

BigBlueAL says:

Shocking result. Well at least it wasnt a HR.

A.D. says:

J.R. says:

This would be kind of a high pressure debut for Steven Jackson

VO says:

I just got home can anyone give me a quick fill in on what has happened?

Drew says:

Quick? that is a tough order.
Basically, CC got the lead then invariably gave the lead right back. Now were in the 11th.

VO says:

Alright thats a good start, basically we scored first, CC gave it up, and then we came back?

Drew says:

Everytime.. Joe extended him a little too long with a two run lead in the 7th, he gave up 2 and we’re at 7-7.

VO says:

bobtaco says:

I would never swing against Veras.

Jose Veras is awful

Drew says:

Okay!! We’re on to something here.

Liam says:

there’s your walk

Alex from The Bronx says:

Next year Number 41 will be reserved for nocnaleM kraM.

Maybe by the All Star Break.

Matt-Pitt says:

Here comes Robby Cano’s walk off.

And the hugest sigh of relief is heard escaping from the Bronx and beyond…

BigBlueAL says:

Holliday not in Coors = Fail.

Damn man, Axl has some high standards. No runs from the bullpen.

Mike Pop says:

Still not good enough.

Matt says:

Damn man, Axl has some high standards

Why do you think it took so long for “Chinese Democracy” to come out?

jon says:

our bullpen has put up 4 scoreless innings

CC only put up 2

bobtaco says:

I’m going to make the bold prediction that if the Yankees do not score now, they will lose this game.

Liam says:

Holliday on my fantasy team = mistake

matt b says:

Alright, I liked the Veras move (as outlined above), but man, I can’t say I necessarily let him throw a fastball that got plenty of plate to Halliday doen 2-0 with Raja on deck (not sure whether Raja would bat or not, I know nothing of the A’s bench).

Mike Pop says:

Honestly, if you like Hockey, that is cool and all. But why wear a hockey jersey to a baseball game. Or a different team jersey to a game if the player has nothing to do with it. Just an epic fail.

Yanks Fan says:

I am going to Boston in June when they play the Texas Rangers and I plan on wearing a Yankees jersey. haha

Mike Pop says:

Heh. Sorry, just don’t see the point.

Yanks Fan says:

I agree with your point but just because I hate Boston so much I think it is acceptable.

Clayton says:

He wants to get pizza thrown at him.

Sal says:

u do realize the rangers r in playoffs n play ton right?

Will says:

Ugh, dont be obnoxious. Type it out.

Mike Pop says:

But dude, it’s a baseball game.

dkidd says:

who’s left in the bullpen?

not that it matters, we’re walking off right here

Mike Pop says:

Chris says:

Alex from The Bronx says:

Outman reminded me of Moyer.

Except Outman throws heat.

Liam says:

dkidd says:

mr. outman, rollie fingers called. he wants his stirrups back

Matt M. says:

if out bullpen fails, maybe we’ll go all ‘natinals’ on them and call up melancon and robertson

bobtaco says:

The BP hasn’t given up a run. This one is on CC.

BigBlueAL says:

Its on Girardi for not going to the bullpen earlier.

dkidd says:

posada looked he couldn’t pick up the ball from outman

BigBlueAL says:

Yankees had 15 hits thru what 7 or 8 innings???? havent had a hit in awhile, they are due damnit!!! plus I got a game at 7:30 so please tell me I will be able to watch the ending of this game one way or another.

southernyankeefan says:

swisher end it now.

southernyankeefan says:

i meant the game not the inning.

Mike Pop says:

This is a game that they have to win in my opinion. CC hurt them today. You score 7 runs with your ace on the hill and are in the 11th. I’m not saying I hate CC, I just thought if you told me the Yanks would score 7 today. The game would be ours and rather easily. But, that’s why you gotta love/hate baseball.

J.R. says:

Its a game you should win. But its also just one of 162.

RichYF aka sooooo tired of the "namedrop says hello" meme says:

OUT OF THE WAY I GOT HERE LATE

dkidd says:

giese! the ghost of long men past…

Man do I wish we had a long man right about now

Chris says:

A ‘long man’ would just a crappy starter. In a tie game in extra innings, why would you want a crappy starter pitching? I’d rather have quality relievers pitching.

Brazilian Yankee says:

really robbie? that ball was above your head..

Drew says:

Okay.. Let’s go one more!

Mike Pop says:

Alright Veras. One more solid inning out of you, for me, please!

Drew says:

that slider is scary.

Mike Pop says:

When he’s on. Just unhittable.

Sal says:

dkidd says:

at least suzuki stayed on his feet

Jamal G. says:

ZOMG!1!!! DFA Veras!1!1!!

A.D. says:

Trade him for bats & balls when his value is up!

BigBlueAL says:

who here actually doubted Veras!!!!

A.D. says:

This is the Veras from ‘08

Eric says:

That was a downright Bruney-like inning

dkidd says:

ellis got buckner-ed

Not according to Gameday.

Drew says:

True I saw that. I don’t trust gameday though

When he gets ahead, as he did on every batter this inning, he is untouchable.

dkidd says:

nasty slider. don’t give up on him, joe!

Drew says:

Dude maybe Veras needs to throw more pitches in the pen before coming in. His control was so much better that half inning.

A.D. says:

Bring him in for full innings instead of mid inning, which Joe G did with him last year.

Jamal G. says:

Or maybe you and some others just overreacted to a slumping relief pitcher ;)

Drew says:

Well… He throws a lot of balls when his command is off. But when he’s on, he’s good.

BigBlueAL says:

Melky walk-off this inning I called it first.

J.R. says:

J.R. says:

But definitely ambitious.

Brazilian Yankee says:

I don’t like Veras, but that was impressive.

Will says:

I was not expecting that out of Veras.

BigBlueAL says:

Pena walk-off this inning I called it first.

Mike Pop says:

I called it in the last thread, hotshot.

BigBlueAL says:

Shit thats right!! My bad. But I did specify this inning!! We were both wrong.

Mike Pop says:

Man, Giese giving the big F U to the Yanks.

southernyankeefan says:

ha melky has looked awful since that HR

Drew says:

J.R. says:

Without Melky in the game we may have lost…

Matt says:

If Dan Giese strikes out the side, I’ll be quite perturbed.

Mike Pop says:

*Knods head in agreement*

(but not really knowing what word means) ;)

Matt says:

You also spelled “nods” wrong. You’re just as bad at spelling as you are picking the NCAA tournament, huh?

Mike Pop says:

*Nods head in agreement*

pat says:

You’re getting better at this matt. I like it.

dkidd says:

pena + bandbox = overswing

BigBlueAL says:

What is it with these ex-Yankee pitchers stickin it to them this season so far.

dan says:

Wouldn’t it be nice to have a long reliever in situations like these? Cough**dan giese**cough

They still have Steven Jackson back there. He can go three if need be, and Giese can’t go much more than that.

Will says:

Giese would not be the long reliever- he was the worst of the three in ST.

Yanks Fan says:

When was the last inning we had a hit?

BigBlueAL says:

Thats what I was asking earlier. 7th or 8th I assume???

The eighth or bottom of the ninth.

Drew says:

Okay… Let’s go one more!

Drew says:

Who’s this man pitching, sign him to a contract!

dkidd says:

or trade him for matt murton

BigBlueAL says:

Good thing the Yankees have an off-day tomorrow.

Joey H says:

When he falls behind, he really puts himself at a disadvantage. Because his breaking stuff moves so much, he is basically limited to the fastball.

Joey H says:

Now is the time to get it over with. Bottom 13 top of the order. I’m starting to get pissed. But we have learned one good thing. Not to jinx it but Veras has been effective. And Mike A. I sent you all the info you need.

Jamal G. says:

Wow, Girardi is willing to go with Steven Jackson instead of Brian Bruney for back-to-back outings sandwiched between to off-days? Hmm, me thinks something’s afoot.

Joey H says:

Something like..? Please specify. lol.

pat says:

Hmm, me thinks something’s afoot.

Yeah, its that thing attached to the bottom of ur ankle.

Joey H says:

Hence the “Lol” at end. Meaning oh no, don’t say what I think you’re gonna say.

Jamal G. says:

Not everyone has had your life, pat.

pat says:

Not everyone has feet? I guess you’re right. But I’m pretty confident you have feet Jamal.

Jamal G. says:

No… wait, I meant to insinuate you’re a crimi… forget it, I Fail.

He’s pitched four of five days.

BigBlueAL says:

He didnt pitch Monday or Saturday or Thursday.

Eh, jumping to conclusions. It is a day game after night game, and Bruney is tied for the MLB lead in appearances.

Bruney’s pitched 8 of the last 13 days. I imagine Joe’s just getting him rested in anticipation of needing him all three days in Fenway.

Jamal G. says:

Ah, OK, I was wondering about his usage recently and if that was the issue.

As I said before,

Holy Jose Veras!

Sal says:

What did this guy do to the real veras?

Drew says:

Get that man a win.

Joey H says:

So did anyone else watch the last 3 innings of the Met game last night? Oh my was it lovely. Watching the Muts in the late innings is like watching your favorite movie over and over. You know the ending already but it gets better every time.

Mike Pop says:

I like how he pointed his finger or w.e that was. Kind of badass. Yes, I live in the suburbs.

Jamal G. says:

God dammit, where’s the bandbox?!

Mike Pop says:

Michael Kay gets me too excited.

BigBlueAL says:

That didnt sound right.

Drew says:

He learned from John Sterling.. Drive to right!!! and caught in shallow rightfield

Mike Pop says:

Once again, Michael Kay gets all jumpy over nothing.

Sal says:

Would a base runner kill them?

They should DFA Veras. He has nothing to offer the team. He obviously isn’t teh clutch.

Drew says:

Somebody is re-posting! Damn Commies.

Heh, I’m not reposting. I just moved the original because I accidentally made it a reply. You envy my RAB powers.

BigBlueAL says:

Giese throws to slow for Tex.

Tampa Yankee says:

If Teix goes walk-off he will be a True Yankee!!1!!11!

A.D. says:

The media will certainly say so.

Mike Pop says:

Kruk: Well ya he really did, he earned his pinstripes today.

But the homer should have an asterick because that ballpark is a bandbox.

Tampa Yankee says:

Bust!!1! He’ll be another over-paid, unclutch waste!!11!

Mike Pop says:

Well, at least having A-Rod wouldn’t make a difference here. Hell, we might of lost already.

BigBlueAL says:

Oh hell no Robbie they trying you!!!!

Jamal G. says:

Wow, that’s a dumb fucking move by Bob Geren.

Drew says:

Ha, bad move for the A’s!

giselle says:

I’m ready for some Robbie walk-off greatness…!

Doug says:

No respect for Cano.

Devin says:

nice shot down the right field line to win it

Arin says:

Robbie, make me regret not starting you!

Mike Pop says:

I like how our boy Axl dissapears when the Yanks have a good thing going.

Sweet Dick Willie says:

Let’s count our blessings!

Jamal G. says:

Go to hell, Giese.

BigBlueAL says:

I cant stand this team….

Doug says:

Uh the team is 5-12 with RISP today. What more do you want?

BigBlueAL says:

John says:

Its cuz Jorge is a true clutch Yankee

Fucking Kay gets excited over every damn fly ball.

Mike Pop says:

That’s what I’m saying.

He has been awful today…..well, he’s awful everyday, but today has been particularly bad.

Sal says:

This is so @$@# frustrating. I have work to do and the Yankees are running out of pitchers.

Yanks Fan says:

Swisher is still available right?

BigBlueAL says:

Look at Kay trying to cover his ass with that awful call on Cano’s flyout.

Brazilian Yankee says:

This game will never end. Even Dan Giese is pitching good today.

Jamal G. says:

Michael, I swear to God, use that “little girl with the curl” saying one more fucking time…

6.1 IP, 3 H, 0 R, 0 ER, 3 BB, 5 K

Quality start put together by the bullpen.

Joey H says:

Hes at 34 pitches. We need to end this fucking thing already.

Mike Pop says:

He’s “Marte-ing” him.

Drew says:

CB buckner= Jackass

giselle says:

hey now, CB Buckner got me free tickets to last night’s game. I’ve never met him before, but he is a good man.

Where did that pitch miss? O-Cab should be walked back to the dugout.

Yankee1010 says:

According to Gameday, it missed the center of the plate. But only by a half an inch.

BigBlueAL says:

whozat says:

I’ve been watching the game on gameday and the espn thing, and either pitchFX is WAAAAAAAAAAY off, or the ump is a total shmucktard.

I’ll be interested to see the ball/strike plot after this game.

Drew says:

It’s a bird, it’s a plane, It’s!! Jeter! No wait

Nice catch by the kid.

Sal says:

Pena should play everyday

BigBlueAL says:

Well Veras was a starter when he was with Tampa Bay in the minors right????

Yeah, but his last non-rehab start came in 2004.

Jamal G. says:

Ramiro Pena: taking a shot at Jeter.

Nate says:

the yanks bullpen must be pretty stretched now…

Jose Veras = Player of the Game

pat says:

veras to the rotation CC to the pen

Jamal G. says:

C.B. Bucknor has the most awesomest K call. I remember one game against the Red Sox he was literally throwing right hooks.

Drew says:

Lol, yea we had a Naked gun reference earlier

Joey H says:

Yeah he called Julio Lugo a “Stupid bastard” When he argued when getting called out on strikes.

Jamal G. says:

Well, fuck that wife-beating douche, I have no sympathy.

Sal says:

Veras staving off demotion

Drew says:

Jose did a number on his ERA today.

Joey H says:

Who ever straightened Veras’ stuff out better have a talk with CMW.

377+318+260= 955

Could we be headed for a milestone gentlemen?

Asterick because of the extra innings. The only record that means anything is the 9-inning record.

Joey H says:

Okay this is starting to get tedious. We probably won’t win this game if we don’t do it now.

Drew says:

I’ve read this somewhere before…

Joey H says:

We have a rookie coming in next inning. That the motive behind my comment.

Andy In Sunny Daytona says:

Remeber when Melky hit a home run? Man those were good days.

BJ says:

Happy days are here again

Drew says:

You see that dude bitch out on that foul pop?

John says:

That error by Damon and the no runs after having bases loaded and no outs is killing us

Jake K. says:

Is Arod available to pinch hit today?

Man, they better win after playing this long.

pat says:

Aight cool, a quick out, sets up the dp nicely.

Melky Cabrera. Pimp.

Drew says:

I told you he doesn’t Suck!!!!!!!!!

J.R. says:

Jamal G. says:

Oyes, Melky!!! Vaya, papi!!!

pat says:

LECHE IN MIS PANTALONES!!!!

Doug says:

WALK-OFF MELKY IS WALKING OFF!!

Nate says:

congratulations melk-man

Andy In Sunny Daytona says:

And Brett Gardner slowly weeps in the corner……

Nate says:

he should still have the job, he’s better.

Andy In Sunny Daytona says:

Sure Nate. Keep telling yourself that.

Melky stealing Veras’ thunder!!!!!! I LOVE YOU MELKY!

Dave says:

John says:

Oh snap, he struck a pose too.

Jamal G. says:

A unzip-my-zipper-you-RAB-bastards pose.

Joey H says:

It’s UN-DO my zipper lol. A famous Joey H line.

Jamal G. says:

There we go, that sounds much more catchy. Thanks!

Jamal G. says:

Melky Cabrera > Brett Gardner.

Yeah, I said it.

Doug says:

…now I’m posed in an awkward stance because I

JIZZED

IN

MY PANTS

Bryan says:

Wow. Didnt see that one coming.

Brazilian Yankee says:

That was unexpected but nice!

Joey H says:

Wow who saw that coming?

Matt-Pitt says:

That ball was a rocket.

Jake says:

BigBlueAL says:

Gardner, say hello to the bench!!!!!! Or at the least a platoon of some kind….

Brandon P. says:

I’m regaining faith

Drew says:

Mike says:

where are all the melky haters with their tail between their leg

If you are going to insist on going there in this joyous moment, all I can do is point to last April. But let’s not ruin it. :)
