    Swsher

  2. Matt says:

If Chamberlain throws 110-115 pitches in a game that isn’t a no hitter or a perfect game, I will be angry.

    • Accent Shallow says:

      Tomorrow, or this year?

I have no problem with him getting up that high later in the year.

      • Matt says:

I meant to qualify that–I meant if he does it more than one or two times, I’ll be annoyed. But, yeah, I’d get annoyed if he did that tomorrow.

        • Chris says:

It would piss me off even if it were a no hitter. The track record for young pitchers (i.e. less than 25) that have thrown a no-hitter is horrible.

  3. Accent Shallow says:

Is it hilarious or sad that the Mets are up 8-2 in the 9th, and K-Rod is up in the pen?

  4. Drew says:

Doesn’t that kid know not to run with a sharp object in his hand.

  5. Mike Pop says:

    Swisher for MVP

    CC for CY.

  6. Drew says:

CC be nimble, CC be quick.

  7. John says:

    This date in history:
    04-11-12
Playing the Red Sox in the opener at New York’s Hilltop Park‚ the Yankees wear pinstripes for the first time. Boston scores a run in the 1st against Ray Caldwell‚ and the Yankees respond with two runs in the bottom against Joe Wood. That is all the scoring until the ninth inning‚ when the Sox score four runs‚ including two on a Smoky Joe single. Boston wins‚ 5-3‚ on Smoky Joe Wood’s seven hitter

just posted this but the in the previous thread but it got closed

  8. Rich says:

    CC showing a little AA.

  9. Jamal G. says:

Wait, what the fuck is Miguel Olivo still doing in Kansas City? Didn’t he endlessly talk shit about the organization during the off-season?

  10. BigBlueAL says:

Coney making pretty good points regarding Joba and how to manage his innings. Granted its not something that hasnt been said before.

  11. Okay, there, big fella… let’s get those throws to 1B straightened out.

  12. Drew says:

Swisher! Imagine if we had Giambino out there.

  13. BigBlueAL says:

I guess the Royals felt that CC didnt get enough PFP during Spring Training.

  14. UWS says:

CC moves quick for a…um, rotund guy.

  15. What Coney just said sound unorthodox, but I agree 100%. I’d go with a 6 man rotation to get Hughes into the mix and keep Joba’s innings down.

With what they’re doing now, Joba will wind up in the bullpen by September.

  16. Jamal G. says:

Heh, Aaron Heilman is in the game with the Cubs tied with the Brew Crew at 3 with the bases juiced and one out; this should be entertaining.

  17. Wolf Williams says:

Does anything scream “Go to the bathroom, wash hands, go make a sandwich, and take as much time as you need” louder than ‘Due up: Nady/Ransom/Gardner?’

  18. Tom Zig says:

I guess Swisher is better at 1B than UZR shows. or is it just one of those games

  19. They have a Bud Light Party Deck?

Why don’t we have a Bud Light Party Deck?

  20. Accent Shallow says:

Has anyone been following the game on GameDay? I just checked it out, and although it appears CC hasn’t thrown a fastball lower than 93, it says he has an average fastball velocity of 88.8. Hmm.

  21. So spillover thread two on a game against Kansas City on a Saturday night?

    1) So much better than LoHud

    2) We have no lives.

  22. Matt says:

That Buck O’Neill is not in the HOF is beyond criminal.

  23. Tom Zig says:

Did you guys get rid of the Yawkey Way store and get rid of belly fat ads?

  24. pat says:

An arod-ian hit for teh xman

  25. Drew says:

X with two hits up the middle. Let’s get that value up.

  26. Holy fuck Aaron Heilman sucks.

  27. Rich says:

    Nady = Gritty

  28. Wolf Williams says:

“He was given a lifetime achievement award after his death.”

The English language offers up all kinds of fun, doesn’t it? Wanna start the bidding on who gets the first snide remark after hearing that sentence?

  29. Accent Shallow says:

So how short of a leash does Cody Ransom have?

  30. YankeeScribe says:

The Orioles are shutting out the Rays in the 8th inning… I guess our losing 2 out of 3 to them wasn’t a fluke. They’ll fade by May…

  31. Player of the game: Sabathia or Swisher?

  32. Jamal G. says:

So, which is the bigger crime: Austin Kearns starting over Elijah Dukes or Eric Byrnes starting over Justin Upton?

I say the Byrnes-over-Upton thing because that’s costing me in fantasy; I paid $9 for The Upton, dammit!

    • BigBlueAL says:

But Byrnes steals bases!!!! Have to justify that stupid contract they gave him.

    • Accent Shallow says:

Byrnes. At least Kearns was good at one point.

    • Thomas says:

Kearns over Dukes is worse, since Dukes has shown to be far superior to Kearns. Whiles Upton will probably be better than Byrnes in his career, he hasn’t shown that he will be this year.

Also, the D-Backs are trying to get to the post-season, so at least starting with the veteran is acceptable. Conversely, the Nationals will end up in last place so they might as well play Dukes, who will be part of the future, over Kearns.

      • Jamal G. says:

I see your point, but what Justin Upton produced in a partial 2008 (.347 wOBA and 40 XBH’s in just 417 PA’s) is right in line with what you hope and pray for from a healthy Eric Byrnes; and the former was playing in his age-20 season last year.

        • I see your point, but what Justin Upton produced in a partial 2008 (.347 wOBA and 40 XBH’s in just 417 PA’s) is right in line with what you hope and pray for from a healthy Eric Byrnes; and the former was playing in his age-20 season last year.

You just said a bunch of words I don’t understand.

Eric Byrnes hustles. Good enough for me.

          Sincerely,
          Bob Melvin

        • BigBlueAL says:

For whatever its worth, Justin Upton is a beast in 09 the Show.

          • btour99 says:

MLB 09 The Show will soon be the bible all teams use to scout opponents, evaluate prospects, create favorable match-ups, elevate player grit factor (PGF), etc. The future is here!

        • Thomas says:

I wouldn’t have a problem with the D-Back starting Upton (he needs to see regular at bats). Both Dukes and Upton should be starting. I just think there is no reason to play Kearns, no future with the team, over Dukes, possible starting OF for many years, on a team with no chance at the playoffs.

  33. tim randle says:

did we have that many SP’s go into/past the 7th last year? i mean i know its only a few recent games, but i dont remember any deep games last year…

  34. John says:

we got 6 runs even though we are 3-11 w/RISP so far today.

  35. mustang says:

    KC has a pen.

  36. Tom Zig says:

If you add up all 3 threads RAB has more comments than LoHud’s game thread. Cool beans.

  37. Matt says:

Why is Sabathia still in this game…?

  38. Mike Pop says:

    It’s 6-0. Shouldn’t CC be done?

  39. pat says:

CC must have threatened girardi with physical violence.

  40. mustang says:

98 pitches and he out there?

  41. tim randle says:

    time for?
Defensive substitution: Pena replaces Jeter at shortstop (batting 1st)

  42. Rich says:

    Still throwing 95 mph after 100+ pitches…

  43. Wolf Williams says:

    Player of the Game: Teixeira.

If he doesn’t strain himself jerking off, Swisher is benched for this one, right?

  44. Mike Pop says:

So…what does John Kruk say about CC tonight?

  45. Matt says:

    Glove was POPPIN’ all night.

  46. John says:

    :standing ovation:

  47. Alex S says:

    i love that AVIS commercial

  48. pat says:

    LECHE IN RIGHT!!!!!!

  49. LC says:

wow no walks from CC that’s huge. his control was pretty great 73 out of 108 piches were strikes

  50. BigBlueAL says:

    Hey Melky is in RF!!

  51. John says:

CC is one of the top 3 performers on ESPN’s scoreboard after Pujols and Napoli (because they both had 2 HRs)

  52. I have to wonder why the heck anyone is still watching Kruk…

MLB network >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> ESPN in the same way RAB >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> LoHud game threads

  53. Wolf Williams says:

Ho wlong before the AFLAC trivia question is, “Which American League city is David Cone from?”

I’ve about had it with KC stories. Good thing there’s no MLB team in Butte, Montana.

  54. Rich says:

That pitch had nice late life.

  55. pat says:

Veras has awesome stuff. If he could avoid those meltdown games he could be a really really good reliever.

  56. John says:

    CC’s performance>Pettitte’s>Burnett’s

I like this trend…let’s see what Joba has tomorrow

  57. Rich says:

Two Penas in the game and one isn’t Ramiro. What were the odds?

  58. Kevin G.Ho says:

Hopefully Ramiro Peña also enters the game.

  59. BigBlueAL says:

Dick Howser manages Yankees in 1980, goes 103-59 but gets swept by the Royals in ALCS and gets fired. The Boss sure was something back in the day.

  60. Mike Axisa says:

Bah. Swisher made an out. Bust.

  61. mustang says:

I hope Joba has a good game tomorrow because that first game in Tampa has L written all over it.

  62. BigBlueAL says:

Every swing Matsui takes his front foot almost winds up in the Royals dugout.

  63. Jamal G. says:

Harold Reynolds: “I think the numbers unfairly punish Tim Raines’ candidacy for the Hall of Fame”.

I still believe that is the most nonsensical thing I’ve ever heard. How the fuck can a numerical record of what a person has done be unfairly used to judge said person’s career?

  64. tim randle says:

    Mo warming up…

  65. pat says:

    PENA AT SHORT WOOP WOOP

  66. John says:

Girardi is practicing replacing Jeter with Pena in this game…just wait until it is a close game.

  67. Alex S says:

    where is marte???????

  68. Jamal G. says:

    Alfonso Soriano with a ninth-inning, one-out, two-run, go-ahead HR. I still love that dude.

  69. Drew says:

Veras.. confirming my thoughts of him.

  70. BigBlueAL says:

I know the song is kinda wack since its a typical 1st single for Eminem (cant wait for the album though) but the video for “We Made You” is still pretty damn funny.

  71. Drew says:

I had to take a quick ride in the car and I flipped the game on. Susan said “We won’t be seeing any 95 pitch games for Joba.”

  72. Mike Pop says:

Oh Mo, I hear them now.

  73. Drew says:

    I still dislike Veras…

  74. Mike Pop says:

You ruin the shutout Veras, damn you!!

    Joba to the pen!!

  75. Way to not stay on your feet fielding that one, Brett.

  76. Matt says:

THE YANKEES GAVE UP A RUN IN THE 8TH INNING!!!!! PUT JOBA IN THERE!!!!

  77. Ayayay Jose.

Funny story about Posada’s wife: I sat right behind her at a game last year and I have the picture to prove it!

  78. Jamal G. says:

Wow, Tony Pena Jr. and Willie Bloomquist back-to-back in the lineup? My Mo.

  79. BigBlueAL says:

There goes the shutout. Nice job Veras!! BTW, love how they constantly play the beginning part of “Sweet Child o’ Mine”.

  80. Drew says:

Veras just throws and hopes it goes somewhere near the plate..

  81. Rich says:

We play today. We win today.

    - M. Duncan

  82. pat says:

I was mentally preparing for that hit to go into the outfield then I remembered jeets wasn’t still in.

  83. Sam says:

If we had Joba get the last 4 outs…
    /obviously kidding

  84. Tom Zig says:

Swisher and Kim Jones totally had sex.

  85. Jamal G. says:

    Nick Swisher is awesome.

  86. BigBlueAL says:

    Swisher cant stand still.

  87. Alex S says:

swisher sounds like this lol, he’s still the man thought

  88. Any reason Hughes didn’t start tonight, or was Kay just wrong as usual?

    http://web.minorleaguebaseball.....8;sid=t531

Aceves had a rough 4th inning. On a more positive note, Bleich pitched pretty well in Tampa.

  89. Jamal G. says:

    Carlos Marmol = WIN.

  90. Nick Swisher #33 CF

    2009 STATS

  91. Stephen says:

In the recap of the game on YES, they said Willie Bloomquist was in the game for his ‘bat’. LOL

  92. Quikksand says:

We have a better record than the Red Sox & Rays! Go Yankees!

  93. Drew says:

If Swish isn’t in the lineup tomorrow I will cry.

  94. Drew says:

Listening to Post game interviews. Good to hear music blasting in the background. I just wish it wasn’t Alannis Morisette.

  95. Tom Zig says:

Damon looks like he can impale someone with his hair.
