Yes, but they’ve had the two shortest outings of the year, the only two outings where a long man could have been utilized.
You take a long man because it is april and even great starters only go 6 innings. And some starters go 3 or 4 or heck even 1 like tonight.

Girardi’s job is not to win EVERY game. His job is to win enough of the 162 games on the schedule to get us into the playoffs, and then win once he’s there.

He’s had slow starts before, but this outing is the least time he’s spent in a game since the 2.2 innings he threw against Toronto.
I’d disagree that he’s much of an anomaly; you can survive a low K rate with a solid groundball rate, which Wang has.
Now, if his LD% keeps increasing, he may be in trouble. However, he’s been solid from ’06-08, with no signs of slowing down other than a fluke injury. I wouldn’t write him off just yet, especially since he hasn’t been able to locate so far this year.
If he was throwing the sinker and getting destroyed that would be one thing, he just can’t throw his pitches.
Eh…I wouldn’t say that quite yet.
