I couldn’t agree more. I think we will see him his month unlike all the people who think it won’t happen until after may 15. I would also give Phil Coke some more time to fixthing instead of everyone acting like he will be a bum, Remember he is still a rookie.

If I’m going to second guess, wouldn’t I have second guessed by suggesting that I would have used a pitcher that pitched effectively?

Seriously?

I made that assessment in real time:

Today at 4:37pm “I would have used Coke for the entire inning.”

You are coming at this from the wrong angle. I’m not trying to predict what Girardi would do. I’m merely suggesting what I would have done.

That’s why it’s the OPPOSITE of a second guess.

Again, the mistake was using Veras in a high leverage situation. He wasn’t good in those situations last year (WPA = .38). I see no reason why he will be good this season.

In any case, it’s a legitimate discussion, more so, imo, than Joba’s inefficiency is his first start of the season after not having pitched in a while.
