Minor League Opening Day

By Mike Axisa

Even though Double-A Trenton played their first game last night, everyone else in the MiLBiverse kicks off their season today. Chad Jennings has a ton of great stuff for you, like a Q & A with Mark Melancon, a look at how some of the young pitchers are preparing for the season, and a story on Austin Jackson. Baseball America briefly analyzed the roster of each of the Yanks’ minor league affiliates, ditto the other 29 clubs. The games start at 7:00pm-ish, see you at DotF later tonight.

it sucks that the Tampa Yankees won’t have a radio crew yet again this year.

I saw Jason Johnson is suppose to start for AAA, but didn’t see probables elsewhere, do we know the rundown? Kontos, Betances, Brack?

steve (different one) says:

i think Kontos – Trenton, Betances – Tampa, Brack – Charleston

Andy says:

Anybody know the deal with Jairo Heredia? I think he is going to be a stud, but I didn’t see him on the Tampa or Charlseton roster…

I’ve asked around, and he seems to be at Extended Spring Training still.

Jake H says:

I wonder why Suttle is in Low A still.

pat says:

Recovering from surgery.

Jake H says:

That is what I thought but I couldn’t find anything about it.

Thoughts on PJ getting the shaft by being forced to go inactive due to Kevin Cash and Chris Stewart’s presence in AAA?
