My Prediction for the 2009 season is that Dustin Pedroia will have the worst Receding hair line in the majors by the end of the year.
Whose the real dork home boy?!

You have a problem with that?

Not a problem with Matt Price(?) winning AL ROY?

Peavy AND Giles to the Cubs
Joakim Soria to the Rays
Huston Street to the Braves
I'd guess the Angels might pick up a 1B or DH bat especially if Kendry Morales doesn't pan out: Adrian Gonzales?, Prince Fielder?, Adam LaRoche?

Roy Halladay to someone (maybe the Rangers if they are competitive which they probably won't be)
Adrian Beltre to someone (Phillies?, White Sox?, Braves if Chipper is injured?)

Well said. And I agree. Maggs is likely to be available, so whoever tries to pull off a trade for Mags better be happy with their 1B.

Okay. Dusty has a talented core of position players on that team - Jay Bruce CF, Joey Votto 1B, Encarnacion 3B. Maggs is 35 and making 15-18 million in the coming years. Maggs makes sense for a team that can win right now. Like the RS, Mets, Phils.

Also, the Braves did trade Saltalamaccia, Feliz, Andrus, Harrison, and Jones for 1.5 years of Teixeira and while Teixeira is better this is more years.

All the more reason they don’t pull the trigger here. They’re gunshy.

Seriously, Heyward is not only a local product (and nobody loves local boys like the Braves) but he’s a top 5 in the game prospect. Heyward will probably be as good if not better than A-Gonz in a couple of years, and he’s actually a plus defender in the outfield as well.

I could see the Braves doing Kotchman + prospects for Gonzalez, but there’s no way they include Heyward in there, he’s more untouchable than Joba is. And I don’t know that Kotchkam + non-Heyward-level prospects gets it done for Gonzalez.

No dude. No. Heyward?? You mean the Braves are going to give up their starting 1B , #1 prospect in Heyward (top 10 in baseball), #2 outfield prsopect (Gorkys), and Locke all in a ONE deal! Not happening, especially in light of the Teixeira deal.

Of course health dictates all, but if he stays healthy I can easily see him winning again. I do want to change my AL Cy Young to Halladay, but King Felix will be my other bold prediction :-)
