Game 27 Spillover Thread IV

By Mike Axisa

Yet another rally squandered by the bottom of the lineup. Good thing they’re carrying that 13th pitcher.

UUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH

ughh. Girardi why no Mo?

dkidd says:

8th inning was just a warm-up

tex’s actual “signature moment” coming up

pat says:

Whateva, just sets up Tex to be the hero again.

Accent Shallow says:

Despite Tex putting the Yankees back in the game, you know he’ll get booed if he makes an out.

tim randle says:

what has he done for me late-ly???

DP says:

Accent Shallow says:

On the plus side, at least it’s Jeter/Damon/Tex coming up.

JobaWockeeZ says:

And the doubters come back. Really go away.

DP says:

Haha does quoting Bart Simpson make me a doubter?

Jose says:

I knew this was going to happen…

Spaceman.Spiff says:

Walkoff homerun by Robbie Cano. You heard it here first.

Ivan says:

Im not mad at coke, Im mad that in the bot of the 9th, yanks had no legit PH for Molina or Pena.

daneptizl says:

Yeah… Duncan woulda gotten that bitch done.

V says:

Except for the fact that PENA WAS SAFE, I understand.

dkidd says:

we can hit percival

Mike Pop says:

Lets go! Please.

V says:

Percival’s on two of my fantasy teams.

Please kick his ass.

Drew says:

Okay, this is far from over, C’mon Jetes.
BTW, can a reliever mentally prepare for extra innings?

Pete says:

Who’s left for the Rays after Percival?

I think Lance Cormier.

tim randle says:

and nick swisher.

Matt ACTY says:

At least one run is possible off of Percival.

Mike Pop says:

Jeter, please get on.

Matt-Pitt says:

I understand Jeter’s approach but it would be nice if he can just turn on one for a double in the left center gap or down the line. Just seems to be really late on everything.

Pete says:

yes, late indeed.

Accent Shallow says:

Michael Kay shutting the door on the “Price to the bullpen” non-debate.

JobaWockeeZ says:

Funny how our fans go ballistic over Joba to the pen. If he never pitched the 8th we’d never be hearing any B-Jobbers.

Jose says:

It isn’t the same. Joba has proven he is a gamer for the 8th inning. That is all he can handle, he can’t be a starter.

Spaceman.Spiff says:

Wow, you are everything I hate in a Yankee fan.

pat says:

Youre not even that good of a troll, I’ve seen way better than you, you’re waaay too obvious.

Jose says:

Not trolling. I’m just worried about injury for Joba. I don’t want him to go down the Kerry Wood starter path. I want him to be where he has proven himself.

pat says:

You have no clue what you are talking about if you’re bringing up Kerry Wood. NONE.

Drew says:

V says:

Wow. Pena and Molina were way better than Jeter today.

Matt-Pitt says:

Come on Damon, get on base man.

Ivan says:

Lets go Yankees.

Pete says:

Now get ready for the ‘Try to Jack it Out’ show starring Damon and Tex. :P

Accent Shallow says:

Derek,

Hit more line drives, please.

kingshaffy says:
JobaWockeeZ says:

Funny how you comment when we’re losing again but when we’re hitting you say nothing. I’m not a Yankee fan? Pshh.

Jose says:

Too bad. We are gonna be under .500 for the first time in a while.

JobaWockeeZ says:

Go back to the Rays blog you were on when it was tie game. If we win I want to show this comment to you, you pathetic excuse for a bandwagoner.

C.Panella says:

Relax this team has shown 0 heart all year but one game against the angels this game is over u heard it HERE first…This is most frustrating team ive ever seen

Ivan says:

Okay…………..

V says:

I heard it HERE first? So you’re the first d-bag I’ve had the pleasure of reading?

C.Panella says:

D bag huh….Ur a tuff guy thru a comp right…fucking nerd get a life

Spaceman.Spiff says:

Lol, UR a tuff guy too. I won’t call you a fuckin’ nerd though.

V says:

HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA

Spaceman.Spiff says:

Moar HEART! And I did not here it here first.

C.Panella says:

Like i SAID 0 FUCKING heart this team find all the ways to blow games is great

Spaceman.Spiff says:

Yes. Heart would’ve really saved us. Please go home, heart isn’t the reason they’re not performing, it’s poor hitting.

V says:

Lay off the coke, d00d.

dre says:

this is the most frustrating mangager i’ve ver seen…

V says:

Huh?

And lay off the booze, d00d.

Fuck, had to go over the wall.

Mike Pop says:

Tex, I love you so much.

Mike Pop says:

so do it up and yes that could of been a 3b damn.

Drew says:

Fuck that would have been a triple. Damn!!!!!

BigBlueAL says:

God damn that wouldve been a triple.

Pete says:

would you settle for that? :)

Pete says:

I feel like I’m watching a game from 1966 the way the stands look behind the bases. Is Horace Clarke on deck?

thurdonpaul says:

Ivan says:

Accent Shallow says:

I hate the rubber warning track.

I like Johnny Damon.

Matt-Pitt says:

Damnittt… Could’ve been a triple if it didn’t hop. Gettin’ some unlucky breaks man.

COME ON TEIX!! SHINE AGAIN MAN!!

dkidd says:

johnny!!! take that doubters

JobaWockeeZ says:

What was that Jose? A double? YOU TOLD ME WE LOST!11!

Jose says:

We did lose. I dont understand.

cjc says:

seriously what is the track made of

Matt ACTY says:

I’m assuming that was a GR Double?

dkidd says:

that ball woke up the ghosts

Drew says:

V says:

WHY do warning tracks have to be rubberized?

BigBlueAL says:

Alright at least a Sac Fly will do.

Just need a fly ball Tex.

Ivan says:

Iight Tex, LETS GO!!!

tim randle says:

cjc says:

V says:

Ok, I’ll take the WP.

ARX says:

Well, he’s at third now. But wtf is the field made of? Rubber?

MattG says:

See that? You can’t score on that WP. It all evens out!

pat says:

Hey, Michael we’re playing the Rays dickhead.

Matt ACTY says:

Tex, I know you haven’t had teh powerz lately…but one of those warning track jobs would be nice. A homer would be awesome, too.

crapmaster general says:

all these losses are difficult to say the least, but I am trying to keep in mind that currently toronto is playing so well thanks to mediocre players like marco scutaro. seriously.

this team (when healthy) is built for the long haul, so stick with it.

Pete says:

Long haul?

With all our injuries, how can you say that with a straight face?

crapmaster general says:

so would you rather have a 100% healthy marco scutaro than a-rod coming back soon?

I can say with a straight face that I believe in this team right now way more than I think toronto is for real.

Pete says:

Are you shitting me?

BigBlueAL says:

Voice Of Reason says:

Signature moment incomplete.

V says:

Teix.

Teix.

Teix.

Teix.

WTF?

JobaWockeeZ says:

ARX says:

If we strand this runner I’m gonna need a drink.

Drew says:

Dude seriously. Fucking teix. You do something great. then this? Fuck

Matt-Pitt says:

fuck… All we needed was a deep fly… That NEEDS to be a run we drive in.

tim randle says:

HE COULDNT tag??? :(

V says:

Would have been nailed at the plate.

Ivan says:

Like Mark Jackson would say: Come on Tex ur betta than that.

Matt ACTY says:

That definitely looked deep enough on gameday…

BigBlueAL says:

2-0 fb right down the fuckin middle.

MattG says:

I hope he’s thinking opposite field here.

Voice Of Reason says:

Godzilla burns down the fuckin house !!!!!

dre says:

it was shallow people..

ARX says:

OK, time to hit the vodka.

Voice Of Reason says:

oh well maybe not

J says:

damn. matsui looked like he was locked in

Mike Pop says:

Really tough loss here.

Pete says:

Jake H says:

I’m sorry but I would have sent Damon.

MattG says:

That’s a totally defensible hold.

Ivan says:

……………………………….There’s nuttin to say.

BigBlueAL says:

Fuck u Matsui. Fuck this fucking overpaid horrible run team.

Drew says:

Teix fucking sucks. This Sac-fly bullshit is wearing thin.

Drew says:

/overreaction on first statement.

V says:

To be fair, it is fucking frustrating. He hits deep flies to the warning track with no one on, and shallow pops with man on 3rd.

Accent Shallow says:

1-2-3 would have been preferable to this.

V says:

Pena.

Was.

Safe.

JobaWockeeZ says:

If pena was fucking called safe in pena was called safe…

dkidd says:

TC says:

C.Panella says:

YAYAYA YANKEES ARE PATHETIC

kingshaffy says:

and youre a douche

JobaWockeeZ says:

YAYAYA go to a Rays blog you pathetic and horribly retarded ingrate

Spaceman.Spiff says:

C.Panella is dumb as bricks, we should probably just ignore him and his HEART!

Matt-Pitt says:

I can’t believe it… Teix saves it then ruins it… This is such a bad loss to have…

kingshaffy says:

MattG says:

I’m thinking Damon’s double went further than Pena’s HR. Baseball is so frustrating.

dre says:

GIRARDI SUCKS!!!! 100 PITCHERS NOBODY TO PINCH HIT FOR MOLINA AND PENA….YOU BULLPEN SUCKS SO YOU TAKE OUT YOUR BEST PITCHER WHO HASN’T PITCHED IN 7 DAYS?? REALLY??????

V says:

Pena. Was. Safe.

pat says:

Girardi doesn’t make roster decisions, you FAIL.

dre says:

who makes roster descions mother teresa??? the manager decides who comes up and who goes down. we don’t need 13 pitchers when half of them are sucking it up, bring up a hitter who can pinch hit

pat says:

No he doesnt you fucking idiot.

pat says:

Bah, that was inappropriate. Sorry, got a little too feisty, this loss got mah blood-a-boiling.

Mike Pop says:

IETC even though it violates every rule there is. But it was absolutely perfect.

JobaWockeeZ says:

13 =\= 100 go back to kindergarten.
Our depth was injured.
Know what you’re talking about.
AND WHY ARE WE SCREAMING?

dre says:

its called Sarcasm. and if your depth is injured then your bring up depth from the minors. and i’m screaming cause i’m sick and tired of Girardi screwing things up since last year

Spaceman.Spiff says:

You know, if you hadn’t typed in ALL CAPs I wouldn’t have taken your comment completely serious. This is a great way to bring credibility to what you’re saying and shows no signs of overreaction or anything. Great commenting dre, keep it up.

Tom Zig says:

Two problems with your post:

1. All Caps

2. Too many question marks

pat says:

3. Everything else

A.D. says:

BAH, damn no hitting with runners on

dkidd says:

i miss joe torre

he would know what to say

BigBlueAL says:

He is too busy having the best record in baseball managing the Dodgers.

Mike Pop says:

Yep, all because of him.

BigBlueAL says:

OK sure the division he is in helps. Actually it is the main reason cause my Mo the NL West is atrocious.

Pete says:

Seriously, is there ANYONE besides Mo that you can bank on?

You know what makes it worse? These effing YES commercials with all the World Series highlights & great moments.

Thanks for reminding us how frustrating the last 5 years have been YES, ‘preciate it…

Andrew says:

Tex giveth, and Tex taketh away.

Bryan says:

This is just so painful to watch, why do I keep watching!?!?!

MattG says:

Let’s get Miranda up here for tomorrow, please. This is stupid.

Dale. Scott.

Anyway, lets win tommorow, then take care of the Orioles with Arod back.

jimmy says:

is it bad that the prettiest part of this game was watching the smoking commercials with the lady with amputated fingers?

Mike Pop says:

I’m happy that you guys went big with YES, don’t get me wrong. But I think the troll% is up 60 %.

Spaceman.Spiff says:

Agreed. We need banhammers all around.

Drew says:

I’m really dumbfounded by Teix

Reggie C. says:

What’s dumbfounding is why Coke decides to throw a meatball to Carlos “AL-HR Leader” Pena.

Andrew says:

That wasn’t a meat ball.

Reggie C. says:

AHEM.

Lets not expect miracles here. This team doesn’t know how to win.

V says:

Ok….

I guess that’s why they’re 0-27. Thank you for your brilliant insight.

pat says:

I’m pretty sure they know that scoring runs is usually the key to winning.

Matt ACTY says:

Except for the 13 times they’ve won this year.

Mike Pop says:

Reggie C. you are really starting to get to me.

Reggie C. says:

wait till football season dude.

Mike Pop says:

When the Gmen can’t score enough to win games?

I’ll be ready for it.

dkidd says:

time to go watch kershaw

the rain will stop
the crowds will come
the team will win

Drew says:

I guess Joe will have another team meeting tomorrow.
I’m still waiting to see some fire from someone in the organization. Tell us you’re as mad as us! This is bullshit.

Andrew says:

Is it safe to say the culture of losing is now firmly in place here? We’re the Red Sox circa 1918-2003… it really is heartbreaking. Like Jim Rome said today – the Red Sox weren’t able to change their culture of losing overnight, and neither will we. We’re going to have to build from the ground up. And no, this is not a knee jerk reaction to the loss tonight. This is a cumulative analysis based on 5 years of worthless baseball.

MattG says:

“Like Rome said?” Is he still alive?

I stopped reading where it said Like Jim Rome said.

Matt ACTY says:

Culture of losing? Are you kidding me? The only reason anything like that would exist is because of your last sentence. The last five years of baseball have not been “worthless” for the Yankees. That is absolutely ridiculous. The only reason it feels like a “culture of losing” is because fans, myself included at times, always say “WORLD SERIES OR NOTHING!” It’s a stupid way of thinking.

Andrew says:

World Series or nothing? Who said anything about that? Winning a playoff series would be nice, though. And yes, a culture of losing. It’s pretty evident, guys… take off the blinders. It sucks.

MattG says:

“culture of losing” is what you decry after the fact, when you are too lazy to look for real answers.

Matt ACTY says:

When was the last time the Yankees had a record below .500? 1992. 1989-1992, if you want to call that a culture of losing, sure. What about this recent Yankee team, the last five years, makes it a “culture of losing”? What is so “evident” about it?

V says:

Ok, they have a culture of losing. They’re going to finish 80-82. There, I spoiled the season for you. Now you can find something else to do with your time.

You’re welcome.

Andrew says:

Your posts are worthless.

V says:

Did you say that to a mirror?

Your posts are ridiculous. You are a simpleton.

Go to Lohud. Please.

Sexy ref says quit the flaming.

Bryan says:

pat says:

His posts engender a culture of worthlessness.

Mike Pop says:

What are yours? Yankees have some of the best talent in the majors and you say you need to start from scratch? Obviously, you overreact so fucking badly it’s pathetic. The Yankees did start over in a sense by getting good starters this offseason and younger players rather than over-the-hill players. Shut your keyboard up, please.

Yes, I say taht with all due respect.

Andrew says:

lol

Lack of knowledge is astounding.

Mike Pop says:

You want to jump ship with one of the most talented teams in the majors. Yet, I have a lack of knowledge? When everyone hates on your point and calls you out, you are probably wrong. You’re a pathetic fan. I can’t stand fans like you.

Matt ACTY says:

I’m still waiting for an explanation. How is a team that hasn’t had a losing record since I was five years old mired in a culture of losing? You want a real culture of losing, go be a Pirates fan.

Mike Pop says:

AHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAH

Its really a shame how guys like carton, cowherd and rome have these jobs. I know plenty of people trying to get into the industry that probably wont get the chance and would do a 10 times better job.

Drew says:

This post was not made by the smart and stunningly good-looking Andrew.

LB says:

Culture of losing? Get a grip

MattG says:

Coke didn’t make a horrible pitch. Burnett was good. And the bottom of the Yankee order is horrific. One smidge of luck, and this is a win.

Come back off the ledge. Sooner or later, CC, AJ, Andy, Joba and Phil will each put two starts back to back, and that’s a 10 game winning streak.

Spaceman.Spiff says:

If this place ever gets a forums with registered posters, I pray that we have the option to block users because guys like C.Panella and Jose make me want to /wrists.

Jose says:

Can’t we all just get along?

Bob Michaels says:

Girardi is guilty of over-managing, too many pitching changes, need another hitter on the bench.

BigBlueAL says:

OK Im calm now. Seriously though not complaining or anything, but why the fuck could Mo not pitch the 10th???? Also again when the hell will they call-up a bat and demote the 13th pitcher whoever that may be, and right now there are a boatload of pitchers who could be called the 13th on the staff.

Its not that Miranda or even Shelley Duncan is a great hitter, but at the least shit put some thought into the other dugout that a PH for Molina and whoever plays 3b til ARod is back is available. Right now this bottom of the lineup is a joke, especially when pitchers start pitching around Melky to get to the next 2 hitters.

ShawnT says:

Damn thiss loss is almost as bad as last night
This team has no clutch ability
Really makes u miss guys like Bernie…

Matt ACTY says:

Fun fact:

Bernie’s career OPS: .858
Bernie’s career OPS in High Leverage situations: .858

pat says:

Fun fact for us, not so much for ShawnT

Thomas A. Anderson says:

And the code red button has been pushed in game 27 of the 09 season.

Gotta love it.

Bonos says:

You see the problem with bringing up Miranda is he doesn’t hit lefties at all. So what are the options? And by the way, Coke’s pitch was low and away. Pena just hit a good pitch. Sometimes you get the bear… Right in the middle of a rally, the rain came. Chit happens.

MattG says:

So bring up Miranda and Shelley, and actually use Rivera. For chrissakes, use your best players!

BigBlueAL says:

Yeah but Balfour was brought in to face Molina. Once he was brought in Miranda couldve pinch-hit and Balfour wouldve been forced to face him since a new pitcher must face at least 1 batter. Would Miranda have gotten a hit??? Probably not, but he has a 50X better chance than Molina facing a tough RHP.

Drew says:

That pitch to Teix was up over the middle at the belt. Are you kidding me Teix?

Nady Nation says:

Is it that hard to grasp that he got under it and popped it up? He didn’t get the job done, we get it. The game also would not have even gone to extras if it weren’t for him. That’s baseball.

Drew says:

Yeah your right. I should jump up and down in jubilation. Give me a break dude. I don’t make you read my comments. I saw the replay on the post-game and said that. Get over it.

Drew says:

Nady Nation says:

When did I say you should jump up in jubilation? All I was saying was shit happens. Sounds like you’re the one that needs to “get over it.”

Drew says:

The pitch was right over the middle. Had I noticed right after it happened, I would have said it then. I didn’t, I saw it on the post game so I decided to say something. Next time I post, I’ll ponder, “Would Nady Nation approve of this?” Would that make you happy?

Nady Nation says:

And I decided to comment on the comment that you made. Didn’t realize everything that you say must be agreed with. Calm down.

Drew says:

I AM CALM!! Ha jk. Aight man it’s all good. When I posted that I was still pissed from the outcome..

(Comments wont nest below this level)
Nady Nation says:

My bad too man. No doubt this shit is frustrating. Just gotta come out and get ‘em tomorrow.

Mike Pop says:

You two just need to chill, lol. It’s no big deal fellas, just a tough game.

Mike Pop = Ghandi

Drew says:

lol word.. So frustrating this game was..

(Comments wont nest below this level)

manimal says:

Under normal circumstances, Arod is at bat and Bruney pitches the 10th.

mtrico says:

This team is just so frustrating right now, I don’t know what to think anymore. I’m seeing a lot of the same stuff as last year, which is not good.

Matt ACTY says:

You know, considering all the shit that went down last year, I’d say 89 wins is pretty good. IPK and Phranchise were awful in the beginning of the year, Rasner and Snacks Pontoon pitched THIRTY games for the team, Rodriguez, Posada, and Jeter all missed time with an injury, AND Wang/Joba got hurt while they were playing well.

Mike Pop says:
Drew says:

That’s sick as hell.

That is truly awesome. Thank you, I’ve been looking for a new wallpaper.

Mike Pop says:

Heh. Knew some people would love it. Figured you def cause Hughes and Cain are your guys. Credit goes to my friend Billy for linking it.

I saw it and I….

BigBlueAL says:

Actually I have a pic I got from ur site as my wallpaper. Its a shot of the stadium during one of the games vs the Cubs. Looks real nice.

LB says:

Wow! That is chock full of awesome! Me like

Thomas A. Anderson says:

Oh yeah, great to see that the team has come together and played like a real, cohesive unit without that team cancer, A-Rod.

Oops.

Matt-Pitt says:

To me, this game really falls on the offense. You can second guess the Coke move all you want, but it wasn’t a bad pitch, more like a good piece of hitting by Pena. With the tying run standing on 3rd and 1 out, you HAVE to drive in that run anyway you can. You can’t pop up shallowly on a 2-0 count as our number 3 hitter, you know what’s coming right there. We also need a deeper bench but Girardi doesn’t make those moves. The man is playing the cards he is dealt, no other choices. This loss is heart breaking, but whatever. Just gotta move on and go on a nice winning streak starting tomorrow. We get A-Rod back soon, our starting pitching has looked better. Things will come around.

Drew says:

On the bright side, I’m on page 2!

Mike Pop says:

IT’S NOT ALWAYS ABOUT YOU REBECCA!!!

BigBlueAL says:

Shit didnt u just finish a 10 page paper last week????

BigBlueAL says:

WOW. Good luck with ur current paper.

Thomas A. Anderson says:

Nothing sucks more than watching your team lose and then still having to do work you’ve been procrastinating on all week.

Oh yeah, I am in no rush to go to grad school.

Bonos says:

This bring out Mo for the tenth, think a bit. It’s cold and miserable. He threw 18 pitches and he’s 38 years old. He hadn’t pitched in a while. It’s a long season. You’ve got three starters out, not counting Bruney. Things are still not too shabby. Yes, they should have hit Sonnenstine, but this team is so uptight you can see the sawdust sifting from the grips. The atmosphere of New York.

BigBlueAL says:

The atmosphere of a Girardi managed team.

BklynJT says:

Too bad there isn’t a 0 choice in the fan confidence polls.

Mike Pop says:

Ifyou vote 0, i pity you.

BigBlueAL says:

I honestly have voted 6 the last couple of weeks. Before that I was at 8. Next week since Arod should be back as long as they dont lose out this week Ill be back at 7.

I think thats pretty fair!!!

BklynJT says:

Thanks for your pity. It is greatly appreciated.

Drew says:

Please have mercy on me with the post-game wrap up.

Mike Pop says:

FUCK YOU DREW. Go listen to your be-damned Lil Wayne and get the fuck out!

Drew says:

Bonos says:

You know this Girardi bashing is so much bull crap. His team won 89 games last year while the pitching fell apart. What, one of the top defensive catchers in the Majors is stupid, doesn’t know pitching? Where did this BP come from? All developed by Girardi. Where were Bruney and Coke last year. Some over the top is understandable but enough already.

Mike Pop says:

Just a real, real, tough loss all around. Alot of frustration expressed, you could cut the tension in here with a knife!!!!! The be-damned trolls though, man it’s annoying.

“REBUILD!!!!!!!”

Like, seriously? Grow up you people. Whether you be 15 or 40. Some of you who are in their high 20’s, low 30’s saying this shit. I can’t believe it. Hard to believe. If some of you are within that age span. That’s right, you just got called out son! Shit makes me sick with some of these comments I see. But I got love for all those regulars! Except for that ass Nady Nation. Always calling out my Boys in Dallas.
;)

Mike Pop OUT!

Nady Nation says:

http://graphics8.nytimes.com/i.....ked600.jpg

Just fuckin’ around Pop. I agree with the sentiment of your post though. Winning streak of 5 starts tomorrow.

Drew says:

I know these guys “have to” say the right thing on post-game interviews, but it’s days like these I wish JoPo was there. I can always look for him to be as pissed as I am. Then again, he’s always pissed so I guess he’s not a good barometer.

Tom Zig says:

I would like Girardi to just curse and call individuals out.

The IRI says:

I’m sad in the dangly parts :(

Bonos says:

One more thing and then I will shut it down. Albaladejo, throws a mid nineties sinker. Do you know how rare that is and how valuable? He’s being developed , Joe is building up his confidence. After the All Star break he should be in full stride. Give this team a chance, there’s a lot of baseball left.

Drew says:

Manny is ridiculous. This MLB network thing is actually pretty sick. I didn’t think I’d watch nearly as much as I do, but with ESPN’s sucktitude I really have no other choice.

dkidd says:

it’s fun listening to vin scully

lots of references to obscure players from the 70’s and 80’s

Axl says:

It doesn’t matter who we get on our team. Over the past 5 years we’ve had several subtractions and additions and nothing has really changed…we’ve basically just progressively gotten worse if anything. The only weird thing is I don’t know how spending nearly 300 million on starting pitching in the off season results in doing WORSE than our starting staff last year…yes it’s only May…but we’re REAL bad right now. The pitching, the hitting, everything. I don’t care if we’re 2nd, 4th, 6th in runs scored. That’s not the point. Nobody hits when it counts. We’ll score in one inning and then never again. And that’s been happening for quite some time now…not just this year. These new players come in and fit right in…like they’ve been here and know exactly what to do. Swisher stepped up and it was almost as though somebody grabbed him by the shoulder and said “whoa buddy, slow down a little bit…don’t you understand what we’re trying to do here?? take it easy…”

It’s just weird, strange…and I can’t explain it. But it has to end. Maybe it really is that management is so bad…nobody is happy and everybody has a big dark cloud hanging over their heads at all times…that and the fact that every reporter in the state is salivating…waiting for them to make one small wrong move…so they can write another book.

Looks like Scotty Proctor will miss the whole season. Boy, Joey T did a number on his arm.
