  1. FL Yank says:

I wonder how that makes the chowdah heads feel.

  2. I thought cole Hamels was hurt. What’s he doing no-hitting the Braves?

  3. Drew says:

Bottom half of the lineup due up. It’s good to be confident in it again.

  4. JobaWockeeZ says:

    Swisher can’t stand home.

  5. Mike Axisa says:

    Trivia = Johnny Damon

  6. Mike Axisa says:

    Dammit Swish.

  7. Accent Shallow says:

Horseshit. I’d be more annoyed if they weren’t winning.

  8. Drew says:

dude he was back in time

  9. Joey H says:

So if they loose this game by 1 run…..

  10. FL Yank says:

    Well that shit sucked.

  11. Infamous says:

Did he call him out on a push?

  12. Tom Zig says:

Can someone tell Cano to pretend it’s the 2nd half of the season?

    • Infamous says:

He’ll be fine. He’s still working the count great and I say that someone said his BABIP is like .059 during his slump

      • Accent Shallow says:

Well, his BABIP is gonna be low as hell if he’s just hitting soft ground balls. Sure, some of those are going to sneak past IFers from time to time, but it’s not like he’s smoking the ball right at people.

  13. Joey H says:

    I can’t say that’s a push. It was more of a GO!

  14. Actually that out was Rob Thompson’s fault cos Swish was otherwise safe.

    Hey!

    Cervelli with the hit!

  15. Jose says:

Swisher is so overrated. He just cost this team a run and he didn’t even have the common courtesy to give a reach-around. http://www.dontvoteswisher.com

  16. Mike Axisa says:

    Congrats Frankie Baggadonuts.

  17. Joey H says:

    Jorge who!?!?!111!!? Jose who!?!!?111/!!?!

  18. A.D. says:

    votecervelli.com

  19. VO says:

See Swish pretend to throw it in the stands.

  20. Drew says:

What is up with the Jeet man. At least he hit that one well.

  21. Joey H says:

    Wow. Trick question.

  22. Mike Axisa says:

    CC’s cruising.

  23. Will (the other one) says:

I realize this is super-late, but I just went back and watched A-Rod’s homer again…did anybody catch Joba’s reaction in the dugout? “F**k yeah!!

Obviously, I thought the subsequent fist-pump was classless, however.

  24. JobaWockeeZ says:

I love seeing the CC that we saw when we signed him. All we need is Teix to warm up.

  25. Joey H says:

Psh. Giambi would have had that one…

  26. Drew says:

    CC CG? Please!?

  27. Drew says:

    Way to go burrell!!

  28. Matt ACTY says:

Awesome. One of my dad’s customers just gave him two tickets behind the plate at Citi Field he can’t use on Wednesday. I know it’s the Mets but behind the plate is behind the plate.

  29. Mike Axisa says:

Sheesh, that pitch was in the other batter’s box.

  30. Jamal G. says:

    That was not a strike.

  31. Drew says:

Looks like Teix’s OBP will drop now that they are throwing him strikes.

  32. Tom Zig says:

Gameday says that wasn’t a strike on Tex. It was way outside.

    Gameday could be wrong though.

  33. A.D. says:

    That looked in to a-rod

  34. Man this ump has a strike zone the size of Texas.

  35. Joey H says:

Oh cut him some slack ump! It’s been a while you prick bastards!

  36. Eric says:

Bill Clement is just tearing up Pena

  37. Mike Axisa says:

That wasn’t a strike either. The ump must be double parked.

  38. Drew says:

    Umpires are fucking idiots.

  39. OH CRAP AROD SUCKS AGAIN LETS DFA THIS TITTED BASTARD

  40. Jamal G. says:

Uh, Jeremy Guthrie just pounded his glove as he’s down 3-0 in the 5th. I better fucking hear the egregious outcries that Joba had against him.

  41. Chip says:

Wow, I could throw a shutout with that sort of zone

  42. Matt ACTY says:

Last pitch to A-Rod: Not a strike.

  43. Tony says:

    Same pitch, same bad call

  44. Nigel Incubator-Jones says:

All yankee batters take one step towards third.

  45. A.D. says:

Both were way off the plate according to Pitch F/X

  46. New Rule: If your team hasnt been relative in 10 years, you cant boo.

  47. Nick says:

just got home from baseball practice, anything exciting happen, i see it is 3-0, how is this so?

  48. Whizzo the Wize says:

Whizzo’s watching on the computer; were the Teixeira and A-Rod 5th inning strikeouts outside of a normal strike zone?

    Whizzo appreciates any illumination.

  49. A.D. says:

Jeter practicing his LF on that putout.

  50. Accent Shallow says:

Ty Wigginton has a fat face.

  51. Oooooh, the breeze from that weak Ty Wigginton hack is soothing. Feel that whoosh of Maryland air, I love the smell of crabs.

Wait, that didn’t come out right. Forget I said that.

  52. Accent Shallow says:

    Hey, it’s Chad Moeller! Woo!

  53. pc69 says:

All things considered, I would feel better with 3 more runs. Take some pressure off the bull pen.

  54. Man. Did I mention I love this CC?

  55. A.D. says:

Looks like A-Rod has made CC better.

  56. pc69 says:

    CC looks fantastic tonight.

  57. Will (the other one) says:

Apparently all Michael Kay wants in this world is for somebody to hold his juice cup.

  58. Drew says:

8 pitch inning followed by a 9 pitch inning. Nice.

  59. Matt ACTY says:

Two sliders at 80/81 respectively after two fastballs at 94/95 is not fair. I love having CC pitch for the Yankees now.

  60. Accent Shallow says:

    YES cameramen,

Thanks for not zooming in on the ballgirl there. I owe you guys.

  61. Mike Axisa says:

Ooo Burnett-Halladay in Toronto on Tuesday. That should be fun.

    • Accent Shallow says:

So glad that Burnett-Halladay no longer refers to who we have to face in the first 2 games of a series.

    • Tom Zig says:

master and apprentice pitted against each other for the fate of the greater Scranton area paper supply

  62. Jose says:

I like how they are showing the stalkers in the stands. Nice touch.

  63. Drew says:

    Bitches gone wild

  64. That lady in the stands is going to kill Jeremy Guthrie someday.

    S.T.A.L.K.E.R.

  65. Mike Axisa says:

    Robbie Cano, whaddya know.

  66. Raf says:

    this zone is really expanding.

    good hit by cano

  67. Accent Shallow says:

DFA New Yankee Stadium. Robbie can’t hit there, Swisher has no jacks there, bandbox.

  68. Accent Shallow says:

I love that Melky is so locked in right now that they’re having a conference to discuss how to pitch him.

  69. Drew says:

    Melky spits hot fiya.

  70. Is this the widest strike zone I’ve ever seen, or what?

  71. Drew says:

    This ump is wasted

  72. Infamous says:

Seriously what is with this strikezone

  73. Jamal G. says:

The umpire won’t allow the unintentional-intentional walk.

  74. That lady is seriously freaking me out.

  75. Man even Melky’s outs are hit hard.

  76. Iowa Yank says:

For the love of Mo MASN sucks

  77. Drew says:

Wow. CC threw that near the middle. Is this ump for real

  78. Jamal G. says:

Watching the Celtics try to “defend” Dwight Howard is endlessly amusing.

  79. Infamous says:

Anyone ever been to Lua in Hoboken?

  80. Accent Shallow says:

Cervelli is no Molina with the glove, ball 1 was clearly a strike, but he moved his glove roughly to catch it.

  81. Tom Zig says:

CC is really attacking both sides of the plate. Sign of good things to come.

  82. Drew says:

Damn, did CC get a little more hefty as opposed to the beginning of the year?

  83. Joey H says:

Now say the SP improves right. Can it be safe to assume that the pen follows suit? I can’t remember a game this year where the SP was so great and then the pen came in and let it all go away. The pitching on most has been horrible. See: 2008 METS.

  84. ..Yeah, it’s like we thought the entire month of April was just practice.

    • Iowa Yank says:

I m either experiencing deja vu or they have done this before… waited around to start playing middle of the lineup batter got healthy

  85. Matt ACTY says:

Honestly, aside from one swing, Guthrie didn’t have a horrible game.

  86. BigBlueAL says:

With his fairly low pitch count so far, CG for CC????

  87. I’m legitimately pumped for Cervelli on the team. I hope he can inherit the “AY, PASTA FAGIOLE” chants we used to give Giambi.

  88. Joey H says:

Imagine Posada was healthy. This line up would be full of hits.

  89. Accent Shallow says:

I don’t think we’ve seen Jeter leg out an infield hit this year. Hopefully that’s just my perception and not him losing a step.

  90. Nick says:

so is kay an oriole fan now

  91. Kay: “Even the worst players in baseball are just incredible athletes.”

    *cough*JohnKruk*cough*

  92. Tony says:

Cervelli is better than Molina, and actually has some upside. Seriously. He should have been the backup from Day 1.

  93. Mike Axisa says:

Cervelli’s got a little hop in his step.

  94. Accent Shallow says:

It doesn’t look like they’ll need that run, but I’ll take it.

  95. It’s rubbing off in the minors.

From @TrentonThunder “Jorge Vazquez can mash…how long will his next home run go? He has a grand slam as Trenton leads Binghamton 5-0 in the 5th tonight”

  96. Jamal G. says:

Jason Bay with another 3-run jack.

  97. Matt ACTY says:

Oh, I don’t know why I didn’t say this earlier and it’s way too late now but I don’t care because I love the line:

A-Rod told Jeremy Guthrie to go home and get his fucking shinebox.

  98. Drew says:

Wearing a hulk hand at a game is worse than wearing a glove.

  99. Will says:

Í dont want to rip on Teixeira because I know how much potential he has, but does anyone else think he could use a day off. Maybe just to get his head straight.

  100. Drew says:

So it’s official. Talk about steroids in every Al AB.

  101. Tom Zig says:

    Tex’s batting average >,=, or < Edwar’s weight

  102. Eirias says:

Alright, everyone. What diabolical new meme is Oaktag?

  103. Jamal G. says:

“Big Game” James Shields enters the bottom of the sixth with a three-run lead and then proceeds to give up a Jason Bay three-run shot and a JD Drew two-run jack. Can we please stop with the dumb-ass nickname?

  104. Matt ACTY says:

Should I bring a sign that says “Oaktag” to the Mets game on Wednesday?

  105. Tom Zig says:

Wow that was a pretty breaking ball

  106. yankees=warriors says:

Sweeet!!! Sabathia the ace is finally here.
It’s too bad he gave up the 2 hits in the first inning, this feels like a no-hitter!

  107. Tank the Frank (formerly just "Frank") says:

There is no way CC is letting Girardi take him out of this game.

  108. Tank the Frank (formerly just "Frank") says:

    Who’s pitching tomorrow? Adam Eaton?

    I pity him….

  109. “No curtains here baby”

  110. A.D. says:

    Cano coming out of it…

  111. Drew says:

    Ha Grit looks bored.

  112. Joey H says:

    CC pitch count..?
