I’d agree with you, except we have one infielder returning from major surgery, and another who’s day-to-day with an oblique strain that may require DL time. I can’t kill them for letting Berroa stick around a couple more days.
If he’s still on the roster in mid-June, though, I may be unhappy.
I think Jeter will be fine, he just needs a couple days rest. I really think we could use the extra bat rather than having 2 back-up middle IF, although at this point I can’t blame Cashmoney for keeping a back-up for the back-up around.
By June 1st, we will make the greatest trade in Baseball history.
We will get Brian Bruney, Jorge Posada, Damaso Marte, Chien Ming Wang and Xavier Nady and give up nothing for all of them.
You think Posada, Marte and Nady will be ready to go by then?

He always Ks a ton. If he hits 20+ hr/year, I can live with that.
I see him going on hot/cold stretches all year. He will keep up his OBP, which is nice. I think he will hit closer to 30HR, depending on how he splits time with Nady when he gets back. Maybe Swisher moves to CF, unless Melky keeps tearing the cover off the ball. In any case, that is a scenario I am looking forward too. That and the discussion about what to do with Hughes once Wang comes back and dominates.
And gets on base at a .360+ clip with no drastic L/R split.
And with his great OBP I’ll be just fine.
If we can’t trust veras/edwar/albie here, and im not sayin we should, then what the hell are they doing on the roster??

Maybe he just wanted to get Aceves some work? Maybe it’s not a show of faith or lack thereof in anybody, because these two innings are pretty much fait accompli?
Exactly, I was under the impression that a team wants to use the fewest relief pitchers possible. Why extend the bullpen more than necessary just to show trust in someone.
So Aceves getting some work is a bad thing because?

Regardless of what happened, Albaladejo should be sent down. Why do we continue to run relievers out there that simply cannot throw strikes? Walking the 9 hitter with a 6 run lead is inexcusable. Veras is a joke too. At this point our top relievers should be whoever can throw strikes. Aceves has shown that he can do that, I wouldn’t limit him to garbage time.
