    That was your pitch, Alex.

  • Matt-Pitt

I hate how they keep booing this man. His timing isn’t down yet, people need to relax.

    • http://ryanhandt.blogspot.com/ handtius

That really pisses me off. Stadium fans piss me off sometimes.

      • Matt-Pitt

Oh me too. I ripped people for booing Teix a game I was at. Dude felt bad and bought me a beer but I told him he needs to support the squad, not boo em. He called it “tough love”. I called it, “dickhead”.

  • pc69

Hmm, this Tex signing might work out (note sarcasm).

And what the fuck with the booing of ARod. Seriously? What is this his 12th game. Fucking retards.

    • Tank the Frank (formerly just “Frank”)

Honestly I don’t think he cares anymore anyway.

      • pc69

Probably not but it is just not necessary. Veras is someone they should be booing.

    Lame.

  • Tank the Frank (formerly just “Frank”)

Holy dogshit that was a frustrating inning.

Unlike last night, this game does not have a good feel to it… for me anyway.

  • Matt-Pitt

Really Swisher?? Damn man. I don’t mind him in the lineup, needs to work out of his slump but I don’t agree with Girardi batting him 5th with the way he has been hitting lately.

    Alright bullpen, hold it down.

    • http://ryanhandt.blogspot.com/ handtius

That was a hard hit ball, with a great defensive play. He’s not hits are just not falling in.

      • Matt-Pitt

I agree. I just don’t see why he should be batting 5th with the way he is struggling.

  • Zack

    This should be an adventure

  • Mike Pop

    Veras, shut em down.

  • e mills

    are u serious Joe?

    • http://ryanhandt.blogspot.com/ handtius

I actually think it’s a practical joke. wait for the punchline.

      • Mike Pop

        The HR?

    • Mike Pop

Gotta get Veras some action in games that matter. See if he can work it out, get his confidence back up.

  • Mac

I hate Veras. Go pitch for the Mets man.

  • Tank the Frank (formerly just “Frank”)

Jose Veras. Leadoff walk. Aaaaaaand here we go.

  • http://twitter.com/tsjc68 tommiesmithjohncarlos a/k/a Ridiculous Upside

To bring up my point again from the thread about the bullpen:

    May 1-15
    Veras: 6 appearances, 24 batters faced, 4.2 innings pitched, 6 hits, 4 walks, 3 strikeouts, 1 homer, .908 OPS allowed, 9.64 ERA, 57%/43% strike/ball ratio, 2 inherited runners/0 scored (0%).

However, if you take out his first two disastrous May outings against the Angels, you’re looking at this:

    May 3-15
    Veras: 4 appearances, 14 batters faced, 3.1 innings pitched, 3 hits, 1 walk, 3 strikeouts, 1 homer, .516 OPS allowed, 2.70 ERA, 64%/36% strike/ball ratio, 2 inherited runners/0 scored (0%).

Let’s see if he can continue the good work from his prior 4 outings. This leadoff walk isn’t a good start…

    • JackC

I may be wrong about this but I wonder how many of these outings of Veras in which he pitched well were in games/situations in which the Yanks were within a run either way. I’d be curious to see those numbers, if they exist. My feeling is they weren’t, but I’m perfectly willing to admit that may be my anti-Veras bias coloring my perception

      • http://twitter.com/tsjc68 tommiesmithjohncarlos a/k/a Ridiculous Upside

        Here’s those 4 appearances:

5/5: Veras enters the game with two outs and none on in the top of the 6th in relief of Joba Chamberlain in Boston (the 12-strikeout game). The Yankees are trailing 3-4. He gets Varitek to fly out to right to end the 6th, then gets Nick Green to pop out to catcher to start the 7th. He’s lifted for Phil Coke (platoon handedness). Retired both of the batters he faced, score remains 3-4 Boston.

5/7: Veras replaces Andy Pettitte in the top of the 7th with the Yankees trailing 4-5. He strikes out Bartlett and induces a groundout by Crawford to get the first two outs, but then gives up a single-walk-single to Longoria-Peña-Burrell, driving in a run. He then gets Zobrist to fly out to left. He comes back out for the 8th and works a 1-2-3 inning of Kapler-Iwamura-Navarro (groundout-strikeout-groundout). Two innings, entered 4-5, leaves 4-6 TBA.

5/12: Comes in to replace A.J. Burnett with two out and a man on first in the bottom of the 8th in Toronto (the Roy Halladay game) with the Yankees trailing 1-5. Gives up a single to Overbay and then gets Barajas to pop up to catcher to end the inning. Halladay finishes off the Yankees in the top of the 9th to close the 1-5 CG loss.

And then the 4th appearance was last night, when we lifted Edwar with a man on and two outs to have Veras face Michael Cuddyer in the top of the 9th trailing 2-4. Veras struck Cuddyer out and then we made the 3-run comeback to win it.

        • JackC

Thanks. That was better than I thought it would be. Hardly awe-inspiring, but few middle innings guys ever are. I think it tends to feel a lot worse watching pitchers like him who have such good stuff but seem not in control of their craft. It gives the impression of less consistency then a pitcher who is simply possessed of pedestrian stuff. It’s the disparity between talent and results that makes it seem more mental (in fact,of course, it may well not be, but that’s how it sometimes seems) and therefore makes people (and by people, I mean, I guess, me) tense up when such pitchers are inserted in crucial spots.

          • http://twitter.com/tsjc68 tommiesmithjohncarlos a/k/a Ridiculous Upside

No, I get ya. Veras is totally walking a tightrope. Disaster is always around the corner.

  • Pasqua

Anybody getting the feeling that A-Rod may not be done with the DL this year? I don’t say that as an overreacting fan, either. I recognize a slow start is / was likely, but other issues are there: he’s not running hard, he’s hesitant to swing, and he’s been playing groundballs back instead of charging.

    • Tank the Frank (formerly just “Frank”)

I think we’ll see him as a DH soon and get a day off as well.

    • Zack

if he goes on the DL again he’s on it for good and getting the full surgery done

  • e mills

    this experiment over yet?

  • JackC

    Oh Veras

  • M18

    veras is so frustrating.

  • Drew

    What can you say…

  • Matt-Pitt

I am SO tired of seeing this guy on the mound in high leverage situations. Seriously, how does Girardi still have confidence in him? Yes, he has GREAT stuff but he never applies it. He doesn’t locate and when he does control it, its usually right down the middle.

    • http://www.riveraveblues.com Benjamin Kabak

I am SO tired of seeing this guy on the mound in high leverage situations.

      Fixed that for you.

      • Matt-Pitt

Appreciate it, hah. I support every Yankee but its so hard to root for that man.

  • kenthadley

Hacker traded to Pirates….guess they like our pitching….soon the whole staff will be ex Yanks….

  • Charlie

this is fucking ridiculous. Veras is disgusting and should have been DFA’d a week ago. joe girardi is a fucking dumbass for trusting this guy with a lead

    • Mike Pop

      Lol.

      • gxpanos

Maybe a little uncouth, but I pretty much agree with the sentiment. Not that Joe has a ton of options with the injuries (What’s D-Rob got to do in AAA to get the call for an extended time!?).

    • zs190

We used like 5 relievers yesterday, he’s one of the few arms that’s not tired. Hughes and Joba going deeper would mean less Veras; as is, Joe has no choice.

      • http://www.riveraveblues.com Benjamin Kabak

        Two words: Al Aceves.

      • Charlie

Sorry, but there are absolutely no excuses for using JOse Veras in an important spot

  • gxpanos

    What’s up everyone.

The end of the game in non-CC starts is shaving years off of my life.

  • Mr. Rodriguez

Why not bring in Aceves instead of veras to open up the 7th?

    • http://www.riveraveblues.com Benjamin Kabak

That’s why I was wondering on Twitter.

  • Matt M.

veras is trying to establish himself as the new farnsworth?

    • Zack

if so he can go out and get a 2yr/$9m contract

  • Drew

Typical Veras outing.. Let a guy or two on base, have someone else attempt to clean up the mess.

  • pc69

    Cmon Coke, get the K

  • gxpanos

By the way, I love how Denard Span is pretty much exactly like Gritt in almost every way except like 35% better. And yet, for some reason, he’s not described as gritty, gutty, or tractor-y…

Nice job by Coke getting him out.

    • Mike Pop

      Cause he isn’t white.

      • gxpanos

Wow. Don’t fool around with punch lines, do ya?

    Fuckin’ ay’, Coke, good job.

  • e mills

    shewwwww

  • Pasqua

I can’t believe this team might actually have a reliable lefty. It’s been so long…

  • Charlie

we’re lucky coke is a beast

  • V

    PeteAbe really is a d-bag –

“UPDATE, 3:03 p.m.: A-Rod strikes out. He is hitless in his last 11 at-bats and 3 for 26 (.115) on the season in eight games with one extra-base hit. His range at third base has been limited, too. That you expect given the nature of his injury. But you have to wonder whether the lack of offense is attributable to the injury, being rusty or something else.”

No, Pete, I don’t have to wonder. The d00d is essentially in the first half of Spring Training right now, asshole.

  • Infamous

    Mo
    Bruney
    Coke

Will be a great 7,8,9 once Bruney gets healthy

    • Mike Pop

Then Melancon in a few more weeks or so. ;)

      • Infamous

Robertson too. I like what I’ve seen from him, he actually throws strikes.

        • Charlie

i agree with both Melancon & robertson, but it appears it would make waaaayyyyyy too much sense to call them up, since their both impressive 24 year olds with considerable upside…Jose Ihavenoideawherethisballisgoing Veras and 36 year old scrub Brett Tomko are much better options..

    • e mills

      +1000

  • http://www.riveraveblues.com Benjamin Kabak

Coke will probably stay in to face Mauer/Morneau but ever there was a time to go to your best reliever in the 8th, that would be it.

Since it’s not a “save” situation though, Mariano will sit there and watch as the game rests in the hands of a lesser pitcher.

    • gxpanos

Sigh. As much as I hate him, Theo’s the only guy that could do it. He should just pay Pap closer money anyway, and have Francona use him as fireman for the rest of his career. Gammo et. al. would suddenly understand why, and within a few seasons it could be widespread/conventional wisdom.

  • e mills

Mo for the 8th or is that too assanine to think Mo should pitch against Mauer & Morneau

    • Mike Pop

Stop it man, they might hear you.

  • Cozimoto

    Hurraaaay, Coke!.

  • V

Coke is showing us one thing – guys who project as mediocre starters can turn into solid relievers.

  • Charlie

wow, our offense is 4 for 21 today, and Tex has 3 of those hits..

  • Pasqua

Apparently, the Yanks have dinner reservations.

  • Charlie

can we make this guy throw any less pitches

  • daveg

    7-pitch inning? That was lame.

  • Will

Damn, Cano is really struggling of late. His BA has dropped close to 60 points in the past few weeks.

  • Mike Pop

    Romulo Sanchez for Hacker.

As of Friday, he had a 4.38 ERA and 15/5 K/BB ratio in 12 1/3 innings for Triple-A Indianapolis.

    • Mike Pop

      from MLBTR.

  • Infamous

    Seriously where’s Mo?

You have extremely dangerous 3,4,5 hitters up and you should be going to your best pitcher. Why managers continue to not do this baffles my mind

    • V

They are all lefties, which is the only reason I could excuse it.

But you can’t give Morneau a pitch to hit. Stupid.

  • yankeefan91 Arod fan

    dammmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm

  • V

Just. Hit. Morneau. You fucking. Idiots.

  • Mike Pop

    Ahh, shit.

  • Infamous

And as I write that, homerun.

  • John

i knew that HR from morneau was coming

    • Mike Pop

      Damn, you good.

Will the Yankees win this game?

  • John

I’ve always wondered: do you get kicked out of a game for throwing an HR ball back onto the field?

  • BigBlueAL

Well the offense has to wake up and actually score a run.

  • Charlie

thats coke’s only problem.. he makes one bad pitch per inning and it gets hammered

  • http://www.riveraveblues.com Benjamin Kabak

As I just said, use your best reliever against the heart of the order to protect a one-run lead in the 8th inning. Idiotic managing because of the overvalued importance of a save.

    • Infamous

      It’s really unbelievably idiotic, sigh.

    • Ace

Girardi should be hammered with questions about why Mariano wasn’t in there. That was a no-brain move. Come on Joe.

  • Jack The Flipper

Morneau is treating the Yanks like the “Old Papi” used to treat them.

  • BigBlueAL

Coke is showing a propensity to give up the long ball vs lefties. Granted Pena, Mauer and Mourneau are beasts but those are the hitters he has to at the least keep in the ballpark.

  • pc69

Coke was pissed he hasn’t recorded more wins so he gave up the run on purpose to steal a win from Joba when the Yankees win it in the bottom of the 8th.

  • gxpanos

Cute how they’re calling them the “M&M Boys.”

    Real cute.

One of them needs to get thrown behind tomorrow. C’mon, AJ.

    • http://www.riveraveblues.com Benjamin Kabak

That’s brilliant. Start throwing at hitters who hit you and watch how long your starting pitcher stays in the game. Utterly brilliant.

      • gxpanos

Seriously? You throw one, it’s a warning.

And the problem is…? They’re too comfortable.

        • gxpanos

I’m obviously not advocating throwing at every hitter who hits a homer off your pitching. But 3 hrs in 2 games, and important ones at that, and 5 in the two games between the two of ’em? C’mon. Moose retired, there can be some gamesmanship.

          • Mike Pop

No reason to throw at people, just don’t give them anything to hit.

            • gxpanos

So walk two straight guys 4 times a game? Those two are locked in, they wont be chasing a whole lot.

  • BigBlueAL

Well at least Nathan isnt available.

  • Matt-Pitt

    freakin’ awful…

  • southernyankeefan

    that sucks

  • http://www.riveraveblues.com Benjamin Kabak

This is exactly why I’m ready for someone else to be managing this team. The Yanks are going to lose a game in which they had a one-run lead with six outs without using Mariano Rivera. Simply stunning.

    • Mike Pop

      Yankees are winning the game.

    • Infamous

I understand you, but what manager do you think would actually make that intelligent decision to do that? They all do the same thing

      • http://www.riveraveblues.com Benjamin Kabak

I hate to use the Red Sox as an example, but Francona has a much better grasp on bullpen management than Girardi does. I don’t watch enough other teams to judge.

        • Tank the Frank (formerly just “Frank”)

Francona also has way more weapons at his disposal. He basically does have two closers.

    • http://twitter.com/tsjc68 tommiesmithjohncarlos a/k/a Ridiculous Upside

I’ll agree with you on that. Not using Mo here seems dumb.

Here’s my retort: If we fired Girardi last night and hired any other available candidate to take his place today, that Replacement Manager X would also not have used Mo in the 8th. Joe may be a dumb manager, but only in the way that all managers are dumb managers.

      • http://www.riveraveblues.com Benjamin Kabak

And I’ll agree with you on that. It’s one of the bigger pet peeves I have with 21st century managing. Why is it more important to save Rivera for, potentially, the 6-7-8 hitters when the heart of the order is up? It’s possible to “save” the game in the 8th while someone else gets a numerical save in the 9th.

        • http://twitter.com/tsjc68 tommiesmithjohncarlos a/k/a Ridiculous Upside

Precisely. I advocated for that numerous times this year alone.

All I’m saying is, probably 90-95% of the bullpen decisions we’ve been killing Girardi for, every other manager in baseball does the exact same thing in those situations. So yeah, it sucks, but I don’t see how firing Girardi really changes what we do with the pen at all.

      • gxpanos

I’m saying, smart fans everywhere need to rely on Theo and Francona in this instance. Theyre the only ones who could implement the Fireman method without taking too much flak.

      • Infamous

        exactly.

  • Charlie

daMMIT Coke. Cashman just called Scranton, melancon and robertson are on their way up

  • BigBlueAL

This might be the worst set-up crew in the history of bullpens. Seriously.

  • Tank the Frank (formerly just “Frank”)

You’re going to lose games like this if you can’t tack on runs.

  • Matt-Pitt

Offense has to wake up next inning.

  • Roger

How many games will this pen cost us?

  • V

I’m not an anti-Girardi person, but absolutely inexcusable to not use Mariano in that inning.

    • JackC

I am an anti-Girardi person, and I can’t blame him — he’s said Mo’s still not quite there physically to run him out there for 2 inning stints. That seems reasonable to me.

  • Matt-Pitt

    Edwar is getting squeezed.

  • Max

These beers aren’t doing the trick, time to hit the hard stuff…

  • BigBlueAL

Nice. Walk the 3rd string catcher.

  • e mills

think you gotta pinch-hit Matsui for Cervelli

    • daveg

      how about Matsui for Edwar?

  • Capital T

Coke through too many pitches. After 20 pitches, he seams to fall apart. Pretty surprising since he started most of last year.

Long reliever = lost art of baseball

    Godzilla, yo.

  • V

I thought that was out. Damn.

  • Matt-Pitt

Wayy to lead off, Matsui. Now lets at least tie this game up.

  • BigBlueAL

FUCK John Sterling!!! He goes crazy saying Matsui hit a HR then says it was a ground-rule double.

I hate the MLB package for not showing Saturday afternoon non-Fox games.

    • JackC

Sterling is the baseball announcing equivalent of William Shatner, without Shatner’s redeeming self-aware irony

  • Mike Pop

Is Gardenhire dumb for leaving Blackburn in?

  • http://www.new.facebook.com/home.php?ref=home#/profile.php?id=594331910&ref=name Jamal G.

    Stop bunting, dammit.

  • http://www.riveraveblues.com Mike Axisa

Kay is brain dead. He’d bunt in every inning if he could.

    • BigBlueAL

      So would Girardi.

    • gxpanos

“Paulie, don’t the Yankees think about a suicide squeeze with their best hitter up?”

  • Mike Pop

    Man, I hate the bunt.

  • Tank the Frank (formerly just “Frank”)

What’s on the menu this evening sir? A little small ball mah boy!

  • Matt-Pitt

    C’mon Johnnyyy Dramaaa

  • http://www.riveraveblues.com Mike Axisa

Christ. If you’re just going to bunt him over, then keep Matsui in there. The whole point of PRing Pena is so he can score from second on a single.

    Fucking retarded.

Man that #2 for the Yankees is some ball player. He just does everything. He may be pretty good one day, even if the media doesn’t think so.

Damon goes Yard and then yells Fuck You to Wally Bell.

  • Jack The Flipper

Do you guys agree with bunting the guy over? The runner is in scoring position and you just gave them a out. Jeter can get a hit there.

    • V

      No. Not with Jeter.

With a Ramiro Pena? Sure. But not a major league hitter.

    • JackC

Normally I think Jeter bunts too often but with Damon and Tex hitting like they have it’s a good percentage play

  • http://www.new.facebook.com/home.php?ref=home#/profile.php?id=594331910&ref=name Jamal G.
    • BigBlueAL

      That guy is my idol.

AWFUL… Come on Teix, we really need you here.

  • V

    Some fans were booing Damon?

    Really?

  • Mike Pop

This is why you don’t bunt!!!!

  • http://www.riveraveblues.com Benjamin Kabak

  • Jack The Flipper

Teixera gets Girardo off the hook for now. Tex is waking uo baby !!

    • Ivan

I have a hard time believing that Girardi told Jeter to bunt.

  • pc69

    TEX! TEX! TEX!

Does anyone feel an ARod HR, just to show up Tex who is stealing his thunder?

    • Bob

lol, its funny how an Arod HR now would still manage to have a negative connotation

  • gxpanos

    YES! TEX!

Didn’t Giambi’s “coronation” as a Yankee 1b involve the Twins, too?

  • Matt-Pitt

Now would be a good time for an A-Bombbbbbb from A-Roddddddd. I’ll take a double in the gap though.

    • Matt-Pitt

Now I’ll just take a singleee

  • Pasqua

Bad managing there. How do you pitch to the only guy who’s hurt you with a guy who has no clue on deck?

    • Mike Pop

What do you mean. It’s still A-Rod.

      • Pasqua

No, it’s not “A-Rod.” It’s a Spring Training version. Why pitch to the guy you KNOW is hot, rather than the guy who COULD EVENTUALLY be hot?

        • Mike Pop

Even A-Rod at the state he is now, he can still do damage. He is still probably more “dangerous” than 60-70% of players.

          • http://twitter.com/tsjc68 tommiesmithjohncarlos a/k/a Ridiculous Upside

While this is true, I still would have absolutely IBB’d Tex to pitch to ARod there in that state. I’ll take my chances with the guy coming off surgery who’s been cold over the guy who’s been red hot and is healthy.

  • JackC

As much respect as Gardnhire gets inthe game, it’s fair to point out — what was he thinking pitching to Tex like that? Has he seen A-Rod so far?

  • Arods bat

dear arod…..all they throw is curve balls….don’t chase…

  • Mike Pop

    Swing, Alex, swing.

  • http://twitter.com/tsjc68 tommiesmithjohncarlos a/k/a Ridiculous Upside

Come on, ARod, let’s do this shit.

  • yankeefan91 Arod fan

    walk

  • BigBlueAL

He cant hit a watermelon right now, but Arod’s presence is still huge in the lineup.

  • Arods bat

    Thank you arod…

  • Matt-Pitt

Alex taking a lottt of pitches. He has learned to just keep the line moving and not try and be the hero. Come on Swish, we need ya.

  • pc69

If EVER there was a guy due for a hit it is Swish. He has been robbed 2 games in a row of base hit.

  • gxpanos

At least A-Rod hasn’t been chasing in pressure situations like he sometimes does.

    C’mon Swish! You’re due!

  • Andy Stankiewicz

Great time to come out of a slump.

  • Ivan

Can we say Tex is back?

  • Mike Pop

    Swish, you’re due.

If not, we got Melky coming up ;)

  • http://www.myspace.com/rbisportsradio Joey H.

Swisher isn’t even making contact with the ball. Trying to slug his way out of a slump. I.E. Giambi.

    • southernyankeefan

maybe he should try a mustache.

    • http://www.new.facebook.com/home.php?ref=home#/profile.php?id=594331910&ref=name Jamal G.

What about the hit and hard-hit liner grabbed by Morneau last night?

      • http://www.myspace.com/rbisportsradio Joey H.

What about it? He is swinging and missing at an incredible rate.

  • BigBlueAL

That Swisher bandwagon is almost empty by now.

    • Charlie

Glad i never subscribed to it

      • Mike Pop

        I’m still on it.

        • http://twitter.com/tsjc68 tommiesmithjohncarlos a/k/a Ridiculous Upside

          I’m still on it.

          And it’s the Swisher “bangwagon”.

          • BigBlueAL

LOL nice. I hear Jeter has a helluva “bangwagon” too.

        • BigBlueAL

I have one foot hanging out.

  • Andy Stankiewicz

Swisher needs to sit down for a week. He is beginning to piss me off. Ok maybe a game or two.

  • JackC

    Who pitches the ninth?

    • Matt-Pitt

      It better be Mo.

      • http://twitter.com/tsjc68 tommiesmithjohncarlos a/k/a Ridiculous Upside

Agreed. Mo for the 9th, if it’s still tied after that, Aceves.

Although, I wonder if it will be moot… I smell a Melky walkoff jimmy-jam in our future.

  • Charlie

Swish better snap the fuck out of this shit soon,or bring me the X Man

  • Andy In Sunny Daytona

    I can hear the chant from down here, “mel-ky, mel-ky, Mel-ky, MEl-ky, MEL-ky, MEL-Ky, MEL-KY, MELKY”

    • Max

I’m not drunk enough to jump on THAT bandwagon…

      • Andy In Sunny Daytona

Drink up, cause its going to happen.

        • Max

          We shall see, good sir.

  • Andy Stankiewicz

When is the X Man coming back?

    • Charlie

realistically not for at least another 3 weeks

  • Ivan

Wow Mo has 19 K’s in 31.1 IP.

    • Mike Pop

      Heh. Not that many innings.

  • Charlie

we’re gonna have to get em in the 10th, cause Kevin Cash is going to have to GIDP with the Melkster and Gritser on base

    • Infamous

Cano, Walk off, Write it down.

  • http://www.myspace.com/rbisportsradio Joey H.

Mo when the Yanks are up by 1 > Mo when game is tied.

    • http://twitter.com/tsjc68 tommiesmithjohncarlos a/k/a Ridiculous Upside

Mo in a large data sample set > Mo in a smaller data sample set

      • http://www.myspace.com/rbisportsradio Joey H.

I don’t care. Mo often stinks in tie game situations. Today he was brilliant.

  • pc69

Didn’t even move his glove. SICK!

  • Mike Pop

Pauly is always asking Kay about his plans on Saturday nights. Hilarious.

  • V

Wouldn’t it have been nice to have Mariano vs. Mauer/Morneau in the 8th?

    • Mike Pop

Yes, but it will be moot when Melky gets the game winning hit.

    • Charlie

maybe, but mo just made those 3 guys look silly…and now we got momentum going into the 9th

  • Mike Pop

Must of been Lanny dropping his lemons.

  • BigBlueAL

Gardner walk-off inside-the-park HR. If not Kevin Cash walk-off suicide squeeze.

  • Andy Stankiewicz

    Mo made Mauer look silly.

    • Andy In Sunny Daytona

What was it like playing behind Mo?

  • Ivan

I will say this, Mo to me, is the best pitcher I,ve eva seen with the best combination of Power, Percision and movement on a FB.

  • pc69

    Fucking Ridiculous….. I LOVE IT!

  • Matt-Pitt

    Mo is money

  • http://twitter.com/tsjc68 tommiesmithjohncarlos a/k/a Ridiculous Upside

Joe Mauer is good at baseball.

Mariano Rivera is better at baseball.

  • e mills

hope they end it here in the bottom , but I think Girardi should use Mo for Morneau

    • http://twitter.com/tsjc68 tommiesmithjohncarlos a/k/a Ridiculous Upside

We’ll have to see. I doubt Mo goes more than one inning yet, I imagine it’s still to early.

  • Charlie

    that was a ball

  • BigBlueAL

At the least dont have Cash lead-off the 10th.

  • http://twitter.com/tsjc68 tommiesmithjohncarlos a/k/a Ridiculous Upside

I can’t believe I’m saying this, but… i was legitimately surprised when Melky didn’t win the game for us there.

    • Ivan

Hard to believe. I actually trust Melky.

  • Tony

If the Red Sox were involved, I’d say these Gardner hospital stories are made up. That’s incredible stuff.

  • Charlie

that was a lame attempt to win it in the 9th
