Seriously. The real crime is that AJ pitched like that all afternoon without ever having the prospect of picking up the win. Sucka hung in there and did a hell of a job.
Srsly. AJ clearly loses his stuff a little bit when he’s not getting run support. I’m a big AJ booster, but I think he would not have been walking so many guys in the 7th with a little help.
I just think his pitch count got high.

If they threw as often as Albie does, I am almost positive they would have better numbers. Its not their fault they pitched once a week when they were up here.
Melancon was really surprising. An unrelenting strike thrower in the minors with an “off the charts makeup” and he really got cold feet in the bigs.
Its the same as with Hughes (who was also billed as the total package) I think the only thing wrong with him is confidence. But you have to earn your way onto a big league roster.
I would say that they both, especially Melancon, have earned their way onto the major league roster but just havent been given a fair opportunity.
No, you still dont get it. The big league club is not there to develop players, the players are there to help the team win. Especially with the Yanks.
Both players have been given chances, now its up to them to make the most of it. I still believe both will be good players for many years, but its up to them (not Girardi) to make it happen.

I’m already tired of seeng Veras but I am getting tired of seeing Albie too. I used to clamor for him last year but I thought that was because he throws strikes and attacks hitters. Lately, I feel like its hit or walk whenever he is on the mound.
I was always in favor of Robertson to Albie for the last spot in the pen coming into the season.
Albie has solid stuff, somedays he looks like a fixture in the pen and other days looks absolutely horrible.
