Mendoza was always hurt, and physically really couldn't handle the back and forth between starting a relieving. Not that that stopped Joe Torre, of course. And Jeff Nelson was unwatchable, he would walk the bases loaded and then strike out the side, and give you a heart attack in the meantime. How soon we all forget.
