the guy is an a-hole. I remember him spending hours in the bathroom at the lawfirm we worked at before he came to the yankees. He represented Steinbrenner back then in all his double delaings. Lonn would perfect his comeover in the bathroom.

Forget everything else, what they did to Monument Park, especialy after the grand promises of restroing it to its former glory, is prrof they could care less about anything that does not generate revenue.

Monument cave is not visible from anywhere inside the stadium once a game starts, but Johnny Rockets food court is. Think about that.

No way Citi Field even with 15k less is more elitist than Yankee Stadium. You walk up to Citi and you feel like your going into the NYC version of Camden Yards. You walk into Yankee Stadium and you feel like your doing Yankee Management a Favor. The new stadium at best is just OK, closer to a big miss. What is so great about it?
Could it be any bigger? The people in the upper part of the upper deck look like they're in a different zip code.

Open the mohegan Sun Bar to the public, put the exclusive Legends Suite restaurant where the audi club is so that it is less obvious and actually faces the field so people will eat there during a game, put the hard Rock where the current Legends field restaurant is and put the steakhouse out of its misery. No one wants a $54 steak with no views of the game they just paid to attend.

Lonn Trost is an A-hole but The Stadium is great. The problem is: the atmosphere sucks because they screwed up certain details. The place isn't that expensive (I pay $22 for good seats upstairs, while bleachers are just a bit more than a movie) especially when compared to other sporting events- it's just that the expensive seats are obnoxiously expensive. They have to change their approach to the premium areas and give up on the ultra exclusive thing. At least let anyone walk down before the game and allow people to fill any empty seats after the 4th inning. And they could easily sell 10K standing room only seats in that park. Drop the food/beer prices $1-2 and open up a couple of the clubs to the masses and all the problems are solved.

Citi Field has 15K less seats than Shea- if anything it is more elitist than NYS.

No one expects the Yankees to feel for the average fan. What I think everyone is getting at is the Yankees inability to admit mistakes. The fans and media focus on the empty seats up front because those are the most glaring.

One night, take a look at the luxury box level and count the empty boxes. There are dozens. At one Oakland game there were 4 boxes with people in them. Four!

Look at the grand Audi Stadium Club that has sat empty, a memebership club no one bought memberships too. Did anyone else quietly get that $75 discount the Yankees ent via email already for that area vs tampa?

The bleacher cafe has two rows of luxury seating at $125 per seat. It has been empty all year.

The Yankees built a playground for the rich and the rich moved on. I for one don;t believe the economy is to blame fully. NY baseball history shows that teams fill stadiums when they win. Last year was a non-playoff year. Just look across town, the Mets drew 3 million in 87-88. By 1991 they were getting 14,000 a night

When Torre managed he gave the Yankees an event feel. Paul McCartney was in the clubhouse, now Paul Oneill gets kicked out of batting cages. The "scene" is over.
