Chip says:

New thread, that usually means a rally in the works in Yankee land

Off with Joe’s head.

Accent Shallow says:

Watching this goofy looking, hittable bastard shut down the offense is frustrating.

Chip says:

It’ll come, we had this same deal going with Pavano

Drew says:

We might not have 27 outs today.

Chip says:

True, but I can live with a loss today considering how we’ve played lately. Amazing how calming a bunch of wins can be

Tank the Frank (formerly just "Frank") says:

Not tonight bro… can’t win every game.

pc69 says:

Time for the yankees to wake up.

Drew says:

Official and rain is on the way.. We need to score in the 6th.

Joey says:

In Re: to dkidd’s comment about “The Hangover”

I dunno, let us know how The Hangover is, it just seems like one of those movies that all it’s funny parts are in the commercials, I won’t see it until I get some reviews

Drew says:

It looks funny as hell. Just too bad Iron Mike can’t really enjoy a small media resurgence…

DreDog says:

It screened so well that they already green lit a sequel. Seriously. It’s supposed to be really funny.

Chip says:

No Aceves? We’re really screwed now with Tomko out there

Tom Zig says:

Just one of those days I guess

Drew says:

This is far from over, if we have 4 innings left.

Accent Shallow says:

True, but they’ll leave Feldman as long as possible, and the Yanks haven’t been able to touch him. He’s at 73 pitches.

Reggie C. says:

I guess Joe G. threw in the towel. Tomko??

Accent Shallow says:

I was about to make a similar post, but Michael Young promptly delivered a DP ball.

Drew says:

We have people in the pen. They need to throw.

Charlie says:

at least its not veras

Chip says:

Well in other news, Jesus Montero got his first run scored after he walked down in Trenton. Of course the other team is stealing bases at will against him

V says:

Mike Ashmore blogged that the SB in the 1st was a great jump, and Montero made a strong throw, but it wasn’t close.

JobaWockeeZ says:

Let’s try getting to the Rangers bullpen to score a few runs next inning.

King of Fruitless Hypotheticals says:

pfft. dying quail into left, hbp, walk, shallow fly to right homer and we’re back in the biz boys…

Drew says:

JobaWockeeZ says:

A-Rod did a great play but LETS BOO HIM! THAT’LL HELP THE YANKEES!

e mills says:

I’m thinking Teixeira pinch hit walk off

King of Fruitless Hypotheticals says:

i was gonna ask…think he’s available for grittner or…dare i say it…arod?

Drew says:

lol nah. You shouldn’t say it.

Chip says:

You don’t pinch hit for A-Rod. It’s not like the guy is anywhere near helpless up there

V says:

Hmm, Swish is a solid 1B.

King of Fruitless Hypotheticals says:

didnt we, i dont know, actually sign him to be our 1B?

JobaWockeeZ says:

We never signed him. But yes he was “supposed” to be our starting first baseman.

pc69 says:

I think Andrew Jones might be slower than Posada.

e mills says:

good to know if there are no more hits or walks, A-Rod will be the last one to strikeout for the night

e mills says:

woops supposed to be way down

A.D. says:

Interesting to see what out lineup would have been without signing Tex.

Chip says:

Not interesting, scary

King of Fruitless Hypotheticals says:

we should get NICK SWISHER to ph for Arod here…

Tom Zig says:

3 runs isn’t tough to come back from, we just gotta get rid of this starter.

Accent Shallow says:

Another full count from Swisher.

. . followed by another strikeout.

Chip says:

That’s weird, Swisher just worked a 3-2 count

Accent Shallow says:

That looked like a ball. Late call.

dkidd says:

V says:

Wilkins De La Rosa out after 6 in AA. Solid outing.

Charlie says:

i hate it when guys strike out looking, come on swish we need a rally here.

Drew says:

Accent Shallow says:

Wow, with Jeter, that’s in CF. Not bad, and Johnny is safe!

A.D. says:

Extra outs better get a rally.

Good range, bad throw.

Tank the Frank (formerly just "Frank") says:

God the Tigers are so overrated…

When Verlander or Jackson aren’t pitching.

I’m just glad Johnny didn’t faceplant on that one.

Coach K’s a good guy and all…but fuck Duke.

Drew says:

Wow great job of backing up by Feldman.

Accent Shallow says:

Hahahahahahahaha. I’ll take it.

King of Fruitless Hypotheticals says:

all the way to third?! what happened?!!!

Accent Shallow says:

Feldman bounced the throw, Davis missed it, rolled all the way down the line.

Davis sailed the throw to third, too, but Feldman was backing it up.

King of Fruitless Hypotheticals says:

Tank the Frank (formerly just "Frank") says:

Seriously… just cut this lead in half with a fly ball.

Chip says:

You need to work on your math skills

Tank the Frank (formerly just "Frank") says:

Thanks Chip…………………………..

Chip says:

Well, that sure helps! Hopefully A-Rod can hit something now

A-Rod has fucking killed us tonight.

Pastafarian says:

+1…. his AB’s tonight are so deflating, this lineup is so flat without Teixeira it seems

Drew says:

He also gave us a run in the first.

Charlie says:

and he coulda given us quite a few others, the bad outweighs the good here

JobaWockeeZ says:

Stop booing A-Rod. I’m sure you idiots would rather have Cody Ransom but I like winning.

V says:

I hate to say it, but I think even Ransom does better than 3 DP grounders in 3 bases loaded situations and that strikeout we just saw.

Hell, 4 strikeouts would be better than what ARod did in those ABs.

I have full confidence he’ll round into form, but right now, frankly, he sucks up there. He’s trying to pull EVERYTHING, and when he does that, he sucks.

JobaWockeeZ says:

So right now on June 3rd 2009 you’ll take Cody Ransom over A-Rod?

Charlie says:

i wouldn’t at all, but that doesn’t mean arod hasn’t hurt us pretty badly today

Drew says:

Calling a DP ball that isn’t turned into a double play makes no sense.

V says:

No?

You think that was a good hit? A good approach at the plate? It was awful, and Teixeira bailed him out.

Drew says:

Teix did his job, so did Alex. You said a minute ago that robbies out would have been a hit if it was 8 feet over. Same with Alex’s yesterday. He drove in a run on that play. He drove in a run today.

Rod says:

No, a thousand times no. Ransom was worse than 2009 David Ortiz so just stop this stupidity.

Chip says:

Oy vey A-Rod, gotta at least put that in play

King of Fruitless Hypotheticals says:
King of Fruitless Hypotheticals says:

OMG EVIL ROBBIE!!! quit with the first pitch shit!!!

Accent Shallow says:

I hate this guy.

So much for Cano’s plate discipline. Wasn’t that week when he was patient awesome?

Chip says:

Well it’s not like he swung at a bad pitch. It was a curve that hung up a bit, he just didn’t do anything with it

V says:

It was a meatball down the middle.

He’ll never be a Swisher, but he has cut down on the swinging at pitches a foot outside (like Jeter in his last AB), etc.

dkidd says:

frustrating game

Tank the Frank (formerly just "Frank") says:

Complete and utter ineptitude.

A.D. says:

Man the bats just don’t want to drive in runs tonight.

Dave says:

Listen, I know booing him isn’t the right thing to do here, and we certainly expect too much out of him, but you have to admit Arod hasn’t been too good when we needed him the last few games.

Zack says:

he’s also playing with a bad hip and has an OBP over .400 so lets put things in perspective

King of Fruitless Hypotheticals says:

he makes fifty seven million dollars a year.

i expect him to wear new shoes to every press conference.

Tank the Frank (formerly just "Frank") says:

It’s the fact that he’s had awful, awful at bats in those situations. Swinging at ball four with the bases loaded in a 3-1 count and a pitcher who lost the plate. And then swinging at a ball in his own batters box. Then again, he does have our only RBI tonight. And Robie looks like shit at the plate again.

Manimal says:

So is it game 52 or 53 :P

For all the talk about how Tex needed Alex, tonight it looks like Alex could have used Tex.

They need each other.

Zack says:

But they hated each other in Texas!

Drew says:

Ugh.. not so good AB’s and a hit. That’s a .333 average.

. . and a small village LOB. Not his night tonight.

The bases loaded DP killed us. Man on 3rd with 1 out has to get home. Both cases they were just bad ABs where he tried to do too much.

Zack says:

Andy 4 runs in 5 innings killed us too

Mike says:

That’s the a rod I remember

Accent Shallow says:

You don’t remember him being a good hitter? Huh.

You must not watch much baseball.

Charlie says:

i think he means his anti clutchness in 2008, although he was pretty clutch in 07.

Charlie says:

goddamn our offense sucks today, arod and robbie gotta get that friggin run in

Jake K. says:

Does Robbie have somewhere else to be? There are definitely Yankees I’ve liked less, and many who were worse, but Cano is my all-time most infuriating Yankee.

Chip says:

Dude Robbie and Swisher put this team on their backs and carried them for the first few weeks of the season. Let’s give them some time before we start turning on them

V says:

If that grounder goes 8 feet to the left, it’s a hit.

He needs to cut down on the grounders and hit more liners, but that pitch was a fucking meatball down the middle. What do you want him to do? Watch it?

Jake K. says:

Tonight: three ABs, four pitches. Month of May: .297 OBP. I didn’t say he’s not a valuable player, just that I personally find him infuriating. He always seems to be something less than he could be. Just how I feel.

Tank the Frank (formerly just "Frank") says:

You’re absolutely right. He’s a frustrating player. Always has been. But we’ll all love him when he gets red hot this summer.

Manimal says:

Wait until the ninth, whiners. You act like they didnt score 12 runs yesturday.

Zack says:

It’s not even game-to-game nowadays. It’s pitch-to-pitch people whine. Andy why’d you throw ball one!? Damon why’d your take that pitch!?

Drew says:

It’s killin me with all the negativity. Andy’s the one that put us in a hole not Alex.

Zack says:

blame Alex for Andy’s bad back

Drew says:

Drew says:

You do realize by Andy saying his back didn’t hurt, which it obviously did by the way he covered first on that Swisher play, that he inevitably pushed back CC’s start and put Hughes in the Pen. Wanger would’ve made the start today if Andy was honest.

Zack says:

You do realize my sarcasm of blame Alex for all of the Yankees problems

Drew says:

my bad. Nah didn’t realize.. Lol lots of hate on Al tonight clouded my judgement.

JobaWockeeZ says:

But when we do they’ll all stay quiet.

e mills says:

I’m just glad I didn’t include them in my parlay tonight, although I do think they’ll still win the game

V says:
Tank the Frank (formerly just "Frank") says:

Accent Shallow says:

Was hoping for something deep. So it goes.

YankeeScribe says:

Only 3 frickin hits? Scott Feldman?

Love that old school 1B stretch by Swish. Nobody seems to do that much anymore.

JobaWockeeZ says:

Oh and who scored our only run? A-Rod? LET’S BOO HIM!!!!!!

Charlie says:

actually, no, arod did not score our only run, i’m sorry

Tank the Frank (formerly just "Frank") says:

I hate the people on here who nitpick mistakes on posts where it’s obvious what the point is.

Chip says:

Well Swisher scored it, A-Rod had the RBI though

John Duci says:

I really wish CC was pitching tomorrow night now that it looks like were going to lose tonight.

Jefree says:

Meanwhile Brett Tomko throws strikes and keeps us in the game. How about a hand for Brett Tomko?

Zack says:

e mills says:

How about the Braves? They didn’t want to give Glavine a million bucks? That’s a slap in the face

King of Fruitless Hypotheticals says:

…think he’d want the long man job in NY?

Seriously, it may be the only other place he’d consider pitching. But I doubt they’ll pay him, and he left a bad impression with the fans.

I’ll guess he retires.

Zack says:

Atlanta is only filling 48% of the stadium, cut that million to help add McLouth. Yea Glavine is a HoF, blah blah, he pitched to an ERA over 5 last year in the NL, his contract wasn’t all guaranteed so they made a business decision and cut him loose.

Yeah, if the contract kicked in it was 4+ mil, not just one mil. He pays for McClouth, and then some. Mclouth makes 2 mil this year.

http://mlbcontracts.blogspot.com/search?q=mclouth+

Zack says:

Yeah, we all laughed at Pedro demand for 5mil but if Glavine stayed off the DL he would have got 4m

King of Fruitless Hypotheticals says:

OK OK…lets all get on the same sheet of music and win this bad boy for Brett Tomko.

Ortiz got a hit?

Zack says:

1-4 raises his average. 1-5 will raise it too

Tank the Frank (formerly just "Frank") says:

Oh God and you should have heard Sutcliffe rave about him after it too.

He’s looked so great tonight, he hit one to the warning track, yada yada yada. It was Nate Robertson – failed starter and awful reliever – and a hanging pitch in the strikezone. Relax Sutcliffe.

Jefree says:

Is that too much silver lining?

John Duci says:

I may be late with this but did everyone see, Mcclouth to Atlanta.

Manimal says:

Is tex available to PH for Gardner?

Chip says:

I feel like this is their inning

Chip says:

So that makes me (1-1) right?

Accent Shallow says:

Thanks Jorge. Now let’s get a couple more, shall we?

Charlie says:

there we go baby

Manimal says:

1 down, 2 to go. Keep whining Negative Nancy.

JobaWockeeZ says:

BOO!!!! We’re not winngn yt!!

V says:

Feldman’s velocity is down from 93-95 to 90-91, this is when they can hammer him.

Chip says:

He’s been positively hittable all game it’s just a matter of squaring up on the ball

Zack says:

send him to the 8th

Dammit, Hideki. That was your pitch!

Chip says:

Agreed, can’t throw a better one in there than that

JobaWockeeZ says:

Matsui didn’t get a HR! Boo him!

Charlie says:

i think you’ll stop eventually, right?

Tank the Frank (formerly just "Frank") says:

JobaWockeeZ says:

LOLWUT! No I’m not going to stop. I’m going to be apart of the booing Yankee crowd today.

Drew says:

Fuck yeah Melky.

JobaWockeeZ says:

But no home run! Teh yankees suck!!

Accent Shallow says:

Nice range by Kinsler, but it’s still a hit. And the tying run is at bat once again.

Chip says:

I’m loving it, now a Gardner bunt single to get Jeter up as the go-ahead run (1-1)

Drew says:
Chip says:

There’s bunting and then there’s bunting to get a hit

Drew says:

There’s swinging to get a hit and bunting to get a hit. I don’t want him bunting to get a hit every game.

Chip says:

Depends on how the third baseman plays him

If Brett Gardner even thinks bunt here I will contemplate killing him.

e mills says:

I like the bunt idea better

Zack says:

anyone notice cj wilson’s creepy ass picture on gameday?

Charlie says:

yea, he looks like a rapist

Drew says:

You send Gardy here? lead off with the top of the lineup next inning IF he’s caught.

King of Fruitless Hypotheticals says:

send grittner every time. EVERY time. luckily, he only goes when he wants to…

Drew says:

It wouldn’t have mattered in hindsight, but how the hell do you not send him on 0-2 to Jeter.

Zack says:

I thought all Rangers starters have to \throw 120 pitches? Only threw 98, Nolan must be furious

Chip says:

Steal here? If you get caught, the top of the order is up in the 8th otherwise you’re in scoring position

e mills says:

ahh Youk just went down and training staff had to come out

e mills says:

andddd he’s out the game

Drew says:

Could you see what the injury was?

e mills says:

ankle stepped on

Drew says:

For lack of a more creative name... Alex says:

what’d he injure?

e mills says:

looked like his ankle got stepped on

Is it just me or is Jeter having little chats w/the ump more often this year?

Zack says:

because he wants to be more gritty like youkilis

Tank the Frank (formerly just "Frank") says:

You’ll notice Jeter NEVER strikes out looking. He always has a chat with the ump. Jeter, I love you, but that was a strike every day of the week, sit the fuck down.

V says:

Except… it wasn’t. Check the pitch f/x.

Tank the Frank (formerly just "Frank") says:

Looked borderline. Either way, you can’t look at that pitch 0-2 and expect not to be rung up.

Zack says:

but it wasnt a “strike every day of the week” like you claimed. superstars like jeter get that call more times then not whne you’re dealing with a scott feldman on the mound

V says:

God damn it, I hate the umpires this year.

If MLB is serious about grading these assholes, half of them should be replaced.

Chip says:

Actually, I saw an article on THT that showed MLB was very good at weeding out the poor umpires and getting the good ones behind the plate more often

V says:

Oh? Could you link it?

I just have no clue how Angel Hernandez still has a job, lol.

King of Fruitless Hypotheticals says:

well…we cut the lead in half!

Tank the Frank (formerly just "Frank") says:

Tell him to check his math Chip.

Chip says:

pc69 says:

This is just an uneventful game. Very boring.

Weather’s bad, game is bad, Andy put us in a hole right away, Alex had some bad ABs. Throw in the fact the Red Sox are blowing out the Tigers.

Just bad all around.

Charlie says:

fuck jeter, 3 fastball strikes lookin in a row is just not exactly an ideal at bat

JobaWockeeZ says:

BOO HIM!!! HE DIDN’T GET A HOMERUN!!!
And you’re asking me to stop?

Slugger27 says:

my god jobawockeez… enough

That was so unnecessary, Nick.

Drew says:

Way to fucking go Tomko

Joebrah says:

no shit.

wow.

alright yankees, this is the most deflated the offense has looked in the last month.

late rally?

Chip says:

That’s what I like from Tomko, guy throws strikes

Brazilian Yankee says:

Heck of a job by Tomko tonight.

V says:

Good outing by Tomko.

Tomko to the 8th!!!

pc69 says:

Detroit has cut the lead to 5, wouldn’t it be funny and great if they got within 2 or less and the beat Papsmear in the 9th. Oh the joy in Mudville.

e mills says:

papsmear isn’t gonna pitch he threw 35 last night

JobaWockeeZ says:

Tomko sucks HE DIDN’T HIT A HOME RUN BOOOOOOO HIM!

King of Fruitless Hypotheticals says:

did he break a bat without hitting a ball?

NO?!

THEN BOOOOO!!!!!

http://www.nytimes.com/2008/11.....rardi.html

Chip says:

I feel like you’re trying to make a point…….hmmmmm……..

Aside from his first game vs. the O’s and the game against the Phils, Tomko’s done pretty well.

Drew says:

He tends to dot that 93-93 on the black pretty well.

Drew says:

Work a walk here. . .

Chip says:

How strange, Nick Swisher has another 3-2 count

JobaWockeeZ says:

Swisher got a hit but no HR! He sucks!!

Slugger27 says:

we’re all begging you… STOP

Zack says:

i actually enjoy it, because its exactly what people do

JobaWockeeZ says:

What? Everyones being negative, booing every player for every mistake so I’m going to do it until they all shut up.

V says:

Man, Andrus is fucking good at SS.

Drew says:

JD and Al, I couldn’t be happier.

Wow that had no business being a close play. I’m incredibly impressed w/Andrus tonight.

In the words of Ken Singleton: LOOK OUT!

Drew says:

I can’t stand how YES talks about things and doesn’t show a replay

King of Fruitless Hypotheticals says:

My Name is Earl gets cancelled, and that dude becomes an MLB pitcher?!

WTF?!

Chip says:

Well maybe A-Rod can appease some fans by hitting one out here

Chip says:

JobaWockeeZ says:

Never going to happen. (Appeasing fans that is)

Drew says:

C’mon Al! keep it movin baby.

LiveFromNewYork says:

I think you’re the only person on the planet who calls him Al

Drew says:

Girardi does it once in a while.

LiveFromNewYork says:

I’ve never heard it. But I believe you.

Matty Ice says:

C’mon A-Rod….tie this baby up!!

Ok. Melky + Aceves for Andrus. Then we move Jeter to CF!

THAT JUST HAPPENED!

Good pitch by Wilson there.

V says:

Oh look, ARod swinging through a changeup. I haven’t seen THAT one before.

Tom Zig says:

Man A-rod why do you look so awful today

Pasqua says:

I’m guessing he had to write the alimony check.

V says:

Better than a DP.

Damn. Ugly night for Alex.

e mills says:

nah uh, he had an RBI way back when

Accent Shallow says:
JobaWockeeZ says:

Pray for Cody Ransoms quick return to make this team unbeatable. A-Rod is a caner and we will lose every ballgame with him in our lineup.

Drew says:

Pick up your boy Robbie.

pc69 says:

Seriously, people who are booing ARod need the fuck beat out of them. That guy just cannot win. Why are those booing even at the game, shouldn’t they be at Citizens field

Reggie C. says:

that’s like a good 10000 people dude.

Charlie says:

great pitching by tomko(yes, brett tomko), but yet again the roidster can not come through, pretty disappointing

JobaWockeeZ says:

DFA him!!!! WE NEED CODY RANSOM!!!!

Dave says:

This Wilson guy is pretty damn good

King of Fruitless Hypotheticals says:

He needs a break. Run Pena out there for the rest of the game…either we win or Arod (Al) doesnt get up again anyway, so let’s give him a break.

V says:

Oh my fucking god he is good at SS.

pc69 says:

Is it me or did Cano look like he was running half speed?

Drew says:

just you. Unbelievable play. Robbie smelled an infield hit out of the box.

pc69 says:

Well fuck! Guess my internet speed sucks.

I officially have a man crush on Elvis Andrus.

Tom Zig says:

That Andrus dude got some skillzzzz

Zack says:

and 8 errorzzzzzzzzzzz

And a 17.7 UZR/150. His range is absolutely incredible and the runs he’s saving with it far outweigh his errors.

Drew says:

I don’t hate our chances in the 9th. JoPo, Sui, Melk

If Posada gets on it’ll probably be Jopo, Tex and Melk.

Chip says:

I’d imagine there is a better chance of Jopo, Matsui, Tex

VO says:

If Posada get on it’ll prob be Sui, Melk, Tex

Melkman is Mister Walkoff this year.

Charlie says:

this game sucks pretty badly

JobaWockeeZ says:

DFA everyone. Bring everyone up from the minors. The Yankees are the worst team in baseball for not winning every game in the season.

Charlie says:

come on, how old are you?

Tank the Frank (formerly just "Frank") says:

I’d be shocked if he’s over 22.

(1-2)

JobaWockeeZ says:

JobaWockeeZ says:

*golf clap*
First of all you’re acting more immature than me and anyone can tell it’s a mock to you.
Second NICE argument by going on age. That just proves you can’t say anything more so you try to insult by age.
Though really you are in no position to talk.
EVERY post you made has something to insult every player on the team.
So stop being hypocritical, stop booing every player for everything because its goddamn annoying and then I’ll stop.
But if you continue to act like this garbage fan then why the hell can’t I?

Zack says:
pc69 says:

That is wrong on so many levels but funny as hell.

Jake H says:

How many guys has A-Rod left on base?

Drew says:

D-rob, please don’t walk him.
Thanks

Drew says:
Drew says:

I take that back. Nice pick.

Charlie says:

he didn’t hear you in time

King of Fruitless Hypotheticals says:

Drob says:

NO SOUP FOR YOU IAN KINSLER!!!

Drew says:

Bring out the rally monkeys

pc69 says:

11 pitch ab by santiago for Detroit. Now 2 on zero outs in the 9th… but they are still down by 5

Brazilian Yankee says:

Hey at least the ‘pen has done their part. I don’t know if it’s just me but it feels they’ve been doing better lately.

JobaWockeeZ says:

No Veras makes our bullpen look great.

bonestock94 says:

Meh, now Nathan is gonna come in.

bonestock94 says:

lol, woah, totally got confused there wrong team

Drew says:

Fucking first pitch was outside. Fuck you ump

Charlie says:

hate to say, but it didn’t look bad to me really

Drew says:

looked outside on the tv, looked outside on gameday.

Brazilian Yankee says:

It was outside by a lot, according to gameday.

Chip says:

Wow, those are horrible calls

What the hell are you looking at Jorge?

pc69 says:

Has 11pm reservations at Mo’s restaurant in New Rochelle.

Accent Shallow says:

If Melky reaches, I hope Tex is ok.

Tom Zig says:

Is Feldman that good?

Brazilian Yankee says:

Absolutely not, terrible game by the offense. But I guess it happens every now and then.

Drew says:

Thank you Andy. Hopefully Wanger wins us the series tomorrow afternoon.

Chip says:

Eh, not a horrible game. Just couldn’t come up with the big hit today

Accent Shallow says:

Well that was a bummer of a game. Hopefully Wang will pitch better than Andy did.

Charlie says:

bad game all around. Can we let CC start tommorow?

Drew says:

Bad game all around? The pen did well, no? Isn’t that a HUGE plus considering where it’s been this season?

V says:

Crap. Tied in the east again.

Brazilian Yankee says:

Yanks offense should be ashamed of the way they played tonight, its not like they were facing Halladay.

Moshe Mandel says:

Really? Ashamed? Why?

My fucking God. It’s one game. One!

Drew says:

Can’t score five everyday. That’s what it would’ve taken today. Being in an early hole changes the offense’s approach almost always.

dkidd says:

positives from tonight are swisher, posada, tomko

Drew says:

Well, maybe Tomko earned a little respect from Joe. We’ll see him out there in a few days. D-Robber still needs to throw more strikes.

BIG BOY says:

starting pitching dictates the game. andy was all over the place and was very lucky he only allowed 4 runs.

Drew says:

Decent day down on the farm. De La Rosa is the shit.

Tom Zig says:

Does anyone think that Pettitte’s back had anything to deal with his terrible command?

Drew says:

Yes. He covered first on that play that Swish barely got to the base and looked AWFUL running. Also, he was clearly grimacing on it. No way he felt good coming into today. He should’ve passed on this start. Joe trusted him and he was obviously duped. Now we have Phil in the pen and CC is pushed back.

Dave says:

Jeez, you’d like to see them lock down the series win before we get into who knows what tomarrow with wang coming back

You’d like to see them go 162-0, but what’r ya gonna do?

Phillips thinks Hughes is gonna be the 8th inning guy. If that’s how he’s used from here on out, I’ll murder Girardi.

DreDog says:

I can’t believe it. Phillips said that. I want someone to ask Phillips two questions.

1) Name all the 8th inning guys in the NL Central (hell pick any division) &
2) Rank your top 10 8th inning guys.

Drew says:

2:
Okajima
Saito
Papelbon (2 inning save)
Ramirez
Masterson
Delcarmen
Bard
Matsuzaka
Penny
Joba

JobaWockeeZ says:

There is something fishy about that list.
…Nope can’t see it.

DreDog says:

I am guessing he will put Hughes on that list soon.
