If ARod, Cano, and Melky weren’t slumping a bit, if they had been cranking out doubles and homers like they normally do, we probably wouldn’t have even noticed Peña and Cervelli in there.
Well, Wang is out. Certainly not great, but hardly as bad as that disastrous April. I prefer to look at him as making some progress. But, in hindsight I might have left him in the bullpen a little longer.
No, Paul O’Neill, ARod is not still thinking about being uncomfortable with the position change like you were with Tartabull, because you were an obsessive compulsive nutjob, Paul.
…Actually, wait a minute, ARod’s an obsessive compulsive nutjob.
Not a good start, but it could have been worse. I wonder what happens from here. Do they send him out for his next start? If it continues to look like Hughes gives the team a better chance to win on any given day, how long a leash does Wang get to figure his stuff out?
People are freaking out for no reason! His velocity’s going to go up a tick after a few starts, and his ball’s mostly been down. His main mistake has been scouting: lefties are taking decent to good sinkers and serving them to left (softly, for the most part!). Give them credit. Wang and Cervelli need to change the strategy vs. lefties.
I’m relieved, frankly.
His first real mistake was his last pitch, the Cruz homer (what a shot!). JoeG should let him get to 80 pitches, it’s ridiculous that he’s pulling him. He’s only at 69 pitches. They can’t expect to get him back if they don’t let him pitch, especially when he hasnt been awful–and he hasnt been today.
Yeah, why take him out after only 69 pitches? Hopefully he either shapes up against Boston, or gets completely bombed and removed from the rotation, cuz he’s lining up to be the starter against the Mets when I head up to the stadium next Sunday.
With Hughes and Joba both on innings caps, there’s probably a 50/50 shot Hughes can start a game in the playoffs and a far smaller likelhood that Joba can (like, 10%.)
Agreed. As I’ve said, I think Joba will pitch in the playoffs, but likely out of the bullpen. They aren’t going to let him make multiple starts in the postseason.
Usually after a game where we don’t score a lot of runs and lose…and I have to rest my very above average offensive hitting catcher…I think it’s a good idea to offset that by also sitting my very above average offensive hitting short stop while having 2 below average hitting players in their place…
My name is Axl, I know more about baseball than Joe Girardi, I don’t care that the Yankees have been on a tear lately, I don’t like to look at the whole picture and I’m not accountable to any of these comments
The level of intelligence on this blog right now is cratering. Seriously people, he has a bad outing that happens to every pitcher (not the incredibly bad outings he had earlier in the season) against the best hitting team in the league and suddenly everybody is calling for his head.
Get this, Wang is a better pitcher than Hughes. Yes, Hughes has had luck against Texas but that in no way means that he will continue to have success against them. The only ball really tagged was the one Cruz hit out and you could tell the guy was winded by that time. Remember, he just threw 3 innings of relief a few nights ago. Now let’s give him his normal rest and see what he has against Boston
That’s a really, really interesting take on the situation.
He (Wang) is not the “usual” CMW, just having a bad outing today. He was screwed up by a serious injury, and has had major problems since returning. This was not a good outing. Maybe it wasn’t as bad as his other starts this year, but it was still bad. The whole point of a sinkerball pitcher is that you’re not supposed to be able to poke soft liners to left field. That ball is supposed to end up being fielded by the SS and 3b.
He’s going to get pounded by Boston, you watch.
I’m not calling for his head, but I had my doubts, and the pitching staff was rolling along nicely without him, and now we have more “decisions” to make.
This may not have been a good outing but it’s not a terribly bad outing. His velocity was there and for the most part he could locate his pitches. Sure he started tiring but that’s kind of to be expected the way they’ve been jerking him around. Let him get his normal rest, throw his bullpen and then see what he looks like against Boston
I’m not entirely sure that’s true. Supposedly sinker ball pitchers throughout baseball history have experienced spells where they lose the feel for the pitch. And Wang was always walking a tightrope with his low K rate, which made his success greatly dependent on a) the fielders behind him and b) not giving up XBH.
If he can’t mix up his pitches enough (his slider was very flat today) to keep the hitters from cheating on his sinker (and thus getting XBH), he may not be good enough right now.
Today was a step in the right direction, but where is your evidence that Wang is right now a better pitcher than Hughes?
Hughes can’t locate his curveball consistently. Once Hughes can do that and learn to finish off hitters, he might be better than Wang. Look, I’m the biggest Hughes supporter out there but he hasn’t put it together yet
Isn’t it about results? Hughes has really outpitched him. it’s not even close. why should Wang be rewarded for getting shelled and killing the pen every 5 days?
I thought Molina was looking lazy back there before he got hurt (maybe he was already hurting though). He was backhanding everything, not moving at all.
But as for hitting, I’m not sure Frankie is ready from prime time, of course now he gets a hit!
all this talk about small sample sizes…two years of 19 wins does not equate to a dominant pitchers who should be given all of this leeway. Not too mention his ERA has risen every year since 06. I mean if they’re still going to develop a pitcher, like Wang, who seemingly needs some more pitches, why not stick with Hughes.
I’m sorry, I didn’t know you were a pitching expert. Which pitches should Wang learn specifically? What do you want him to add to his 4 seamer, 2 seamer, slider, change-up and splitter? Maybe we can get somebody in here to team him the knuckleball!
No, but I think it is reasonable to point out that Wang doesn’t have all those pitches working now. His sinker is better than it was, but hardly dominant yet. And his other pitches aren’t good enough right now (or he doesn’t trust them enough) to make up the difference.
True, but that could be just from being rusty. He hasn’t exactly had a chance to throw many changeups and splitters in a game lately. I want to see him on normal rest and after he gets his side session in before I jump to conclusions
the point is that maybe major league hitters are on to his stuff, via more video, etc… Also, I just wanted to mention the small sample size of two seasons.
I just think back to 07 in the playoffs vs. Cleveland where they weren’t swinging at anything. I know they are broadcasters but they were speaking of how the Indians organization goes about scouting pitchers differently
So, while this is improvement for Wang, do you still let him make his next start against Boston? Texas mashes but Boston is more patient and still a very good offensive team. I just don’t see how the Yankees can allow a starter who goes 4 1/3, gives up 5 and considers it an improvement to continue pitching in this rotation. Not trying to be a negative nancy or anything, just a legitimate situation.
I start him at Boston. If he sucks there, I give him one last shot to boost his confidence against the hapless Nats. If he can’t cut it then either, he gets pulled.
Yes, they do. Seriously. Go to baseball-reference.com, pick your favorite manager, go through the gamelogs, and show me one manager, JUST ONE MANAGER, who has ever gone through a 162 game season and never played two backups on the same day.
Why would all managers do this?? Rest 2 perfectly capable players or even one perfectly capable player the same day as another is mildly hurt…after they lose and only score 2 runs?? Kind of sounds CRRAAAAZZZYYYY
Go to baseball-reference.com, pick your favorite manager, go through the gamelogs, and show me one manager, JUST ONE MANAGER, who has ever gone through a 162 game season and never played two backups on the same day.
This inning…it’s time for ARod to get a big hit. Not calling for his head on a plate if he f’s up again, but if he doesn’t get a hit or a walk, he needs an adjustment of sorts.
Hahaha! JP man, leave work and have a beer or 9. Do you even have fun watching (or gamecasting) this game?! Don’t make it about A-Rod after a three run hit.
I’m not sure that he was the better signing. Starting pitchers are much more volatile and injury prone than 1B. CC’s best case is far more valuable than Tex’s, but the downside is also much worse.
i like the name haha i loved me smome stankawiecz.
and ive noticed that it seems this year arod has been much better in the clutch, or at least, one of two tings, not ocming up in thos esituations as much and therefore we notice the good things mroe because there are not as many failures, or he really is just doing better when it counts.
im not saying he sucks or anything cause there are so many chances to be “clutch” in a season i just wonder why it seems this year he truly does come through more when its closer (again, a hr when its 4-1 or 4-3 still is a run, not saying that but im sure some ppl will not read everything iw rite anyway)
Well, people from different countries go through the motions in different ways, Robby does it in the field, being Italian from time to time I go through the motions while making pasta sauce and engaging in organized crime, and bottling olive oil
I doubt he goes that long today. However, if Wang has another outing like this one against Boston he could take Aceves’ place with Aceves becoming more high-leverage IMO.
I don’t think they take days off. I think they are given days off by a smart manager who does not want to grind them into the ground in the first week of June.
I dont think anyone did. However, there were several people that dropped claiming the world was going to end and how Girardi sucks for putting Pena and Cervelli in there the same game and other crap.
The sux0rs apparently are Girardi for playing two reserves together (THE HORROR!!!!) and Cashman for not giving this start to Hughes (even though it wasn’t his day to throw).
Melky’s looked pretty crappy lately. Maybe give BG some playing time? Might as well play the hot hand.
Agreed plus even if Melky is going to have a good year, he’s not going to hit like he had been.
Word.
peteabe is such a jackass sometimes…how has wang reverted to april form??
no wonder all these lohudders are coming over here spewing bullshit.
anyone watching the mets? how does mccutchen look?
I blame Francesa. Seriously. He is culprit #1 for the increased stupidification and irrationality of the Modern Yankee Fan.
+1,000,000
i dunno…i don’t even know who this fresca guy is, and i’m a pretty stupid yankee fan…
Fancesa is already trying to figure out who the Yankees can trade to the Braves for McClouth.
Nice. Talk about wasting prospects, McClouth would be a waste.
+ infinity
+660 (cwidt?)
And I blame ESPN for the overall dumbing down of baseball fans.
IETC
Well, leadoff double wasted but if Wang/Ace can hold them, we will come back!
would it be whining to say this looks like April again?
Yes.
Absolutely. the game isn’t even half over yet man. We’ve lost ONE in a row.
Yes, he’s given up 4 runs in 4 innings, vs 13 in 2 innings, and hes gotten plenty of grounders, and kept the ball down for the most part.
I spoke too soon
Si.
C’mon Wanger. Get this shit.
Wow, this is not a good offensive line up today.
on a normal day it would be ok but it all came together with some guys like Alex having a bad couple of games…so its an inopportune lineup?
Precisely.
If ARod, Cano, and Melky weren’t slumping a bit, if they had been cranking out doubles and homers like they normally do, we probably wouldn’t have even noticed Peña and Cervelli in there.
The average OPS of this lineup is .817
That would rank third in baseball (behind the Yankees and Texas).
I wonder how different things would’ve been if A-Rod had taken over short in ’04 and Jeter moved to third.
Well, Wang is out. Certainly not great, but hardly as bad as that disastrous April. I prefer to look at him as making some progress. But, in hindsight I might have left him in the bullpen a little longer.
I doubt they’d be real different.
Jeter to 2B with A-Rod at SS. Of course, we’d still be without a 3B.
Wang vs bos? Ouch
Dang he tagged that one.
ouch !!!!
Paul O’Neill saying “Uh oh” after that swing made me LOL.
fucking cruz is killing us
GO HUNTSVILLE STARS!!!
Ouch.
No, Paul O’Neill, ARod is not still thinking about being uncomfortable with the position change like you were with Tartabull, because you were an obsessive compulsive nutjob, Paul.
…Actually, wait a minute, ARod’s an obsessive compulsive nutjob.
Maybe you’re right. I’m sorry for yelling.
haha i wish i was watching the broadcast now
Was he really suggesting that a position change 5 years ago has some impact on A-Rod now?
Well, it was Kay. Kay asked the question and Paulie indulged him by saying that he was uncomfortable the year he had to play in LF.
It was a dumb conversation on both sides.
Most of theirs are.
I wonder if they think Posada’s struggles last year were because he switched from 2B to C…
I know hind sight is 20/20, but for the life of me I can’t figure why we wouldn’t give this start to Philly. Always pitches well against Texas.
It wasn’t his start anyway, no?
Shh, don’t tell them. Let them think they’re right.
It wasn’t Hughes turn in the rotation today. It was CC’s and it was pushed back till tomorrow.
I’m a pansy.
/IronHorse’d
I figure with my lack of common sense and not being a real Yankee fan it fit..
sorry rab
Take an effective starter out for an ineffective one. Go cash!
God damn it, you are an idiot.
Keep changing your name ‘Mike’, ‘John’, ‘Adam’, whatever first name you choose for your next idiotic post, etc.
Please leave. Call into Francessa’s show to rant and rave. Boo ARod at the game. But please get the hell out of here.
hey there are sane John’s here too
You lack perspective and foresight.
thats better than perspiration and foreskin…
Man I thought he should’ve finished the inning.. Whatever
that was a nice experiment
Wang’s ERA is lower now than it was before the game…
Why not let Wang try to get out of this inning? Isn’t the goal to increase his pitch count?
Eh, the goal is also to not lose the ballgame and to not futz with Wang’s confidence.
That homer to Cruz was crushed. I can see why Girardi would have taken him out.
Fair enough. Like I said I’m not watching, just seemed like he got the first two batters quickly so I thought he could finish out the inning.
I would have let him finish. Can’t really complain though. he got to 70 pitches. He should be good for 85-90 next time out.
Not a good start, but it could have been worse. I wonder what happens from here. Do they send him out for his next start? If it continues to look like Hughes gives the team a better chance to win on any given day, how long a leash does Wang get to figure his stuff out?
I’d give him until the Nationals game
People are freaking out for no reason! His velocity’s going to go up a tick after a few starts, and his ball’s mostly been down. His main mistake has been scouting: lefties are taking decent to good sinkers and serving them to left (softly, for the most part!). Give them credit. They can’t expect to get him back if they don’t let him pitch, especially when he hasnt been awful–and he hasnt been today.
Rose colored glasses. Well, I’m not watching, just gamecasting, but still.
I got nothing to back this up, but I think there’s a mental thing going on, too, with Wang. Loss of confidence, or something.
I’m Gameday-ing and watching. I would think Gameday would give you the same impression as watching the game.
Just what the doctor order a mix outing this will be good for about 2 more threads and a week of Hughes vs Wang debate.
I love baseball.
luv that Cruz dude.
Cano and Melky look to be just goin thru the motions. I would package them both for a CF with some pop
:shakes head:
This has become worse than Lohud.
Lay it on me, what center fielder is coming over for that package, oh and I need the second baseman as well?
It is brutally bad today.
See how long you’d be on the phone if you offer Cano and Melky to the Indians or Orioles.
Cano and Melky look to be just goin thru the motions. I would package them both for a CF with some pop
Batshit insane.
Cano maybe. Melky no.
going through the motions
Explain this to me please?
just what I feel is going on…sorry there is no tool for measuring how hard they are trying
Yeah, why take him out after only 69 pitches? Hopefully he either shapes up against Boston, or gets completely bombed and removed from the rotation, cuz he’s lining up to be the starter against the Mets when I head up to the stadium next Sunday.
For those actually watching the game… Does Wanger get another start?
Yes.
Cashman actually said on the Michael Kay show yesterday that Wang was going to get another start even if he got shelled.
He only got half-shelled, IMO, so it’s a no-brainer. The Yankees need to get CMW back to 100% by October, because we need him in the playoff rotation.
Wang’s last playoff performances werent too good. I dont think this rotation needs him as much as before.
With Hughes and Joba both on innings caps, there’s probably a 50/50 shot Hughes can start a game in the playoffs and a far smaller likelhood that Joba can (like, 10%.)
That’s why we need Wang in the rotation.
Agreed. As I’ve said, I think Joba will pitch in the playoffs, but likely out of the bullpen. They aren’t going to let him make multiple starts in the postseason.
Or we can trade melky, cano, ipk and kei igawa for somebody like peavy, and then sign glavine to an incentive laden $10million dollar deal…
I like this deal. Cano and Melky aren’t really trying hard anyway, might as well trade them…
Usually after a game where we don’t score a lot of runs and lose…and I have to rest my very above average offensive hitting catcher…I think it’s a good idea to offset that by also sitting my very above average offensive hitting short stop while having 2 below average hitting players in their place…
That’s usually how I look at things…
My name is Axl, I know more about baseball than Joe Girardi, I don’t care that the Yankees have been on a tear lately, I don’t like to look at the whole picture and I’m not accountable to any of these comments
Well you’re wrong about everything other than me knowing more about baseball than Joe Girardi…
I also know that games are only 4 and a half innings long.
-Axl
What does this have to do with what I said?
Well fuck me running.
Oh noo Alf might have caught the itis
The level of intelligence on this blog right now is cratering. Seriously people, he has a bad outing that happens to every pitcher (not the incredibly bad outings he had earlier in the season) against the best hitting team in the league and suddenly everybody is calling for his head.

Talk about a tough way to go come back….Texas then Boston…ugh.
Today was a step in the right direction. But Boston can be brutal.
if you’re gonna do it to it right now…
That’s a really, really interesting take on the situation.

Totally agree. But you also have to understand that is can be a very pro-hughes crowd. Not that it’s bad in anyway.

This isn’t the 2006-2008 Wang here.
He’s obviously not the same pitcher.
Isn’t it about results? Hughes has really outpitched him. it’s not even close. why should Wang be rewarded for getting shelled and killing the pen every 5 days?
Yikes, this game just went from potential to “it is just one of those days”.
Looks like the ‘Cervelli > Molina’ morons will shut up for awhile.
I thought Molina was looking lazy back there before he got hurt (maybe he was already hurting though). He was backhanding everything, not moving at all.
But as for hitting, I’m not sure Frankie is ready from prime time, of course now he gets a hit!
Sick, I have to agree with you.

Is it me or does it seem like Cano never gets that 2 out hit with men on when the team is trailing?
2 walks??? who is this pitcher and what has he done with Aceves?
So, while this is improvement for Wang, do you still let him make his next start against Boston? Texas mashes but Boston is more patient and still a very good offensive team. They are patient but when you pound strikes they have to swing. Wang is getting there. What’s the point in skipping him…
Debbie Downer
Hughes didn’t exactly tear it up against Boston earlier in the year.
Yanks are scoring 3 runs this inning.
grit rally!
Great opportunity now.
Aceves walks 2 guys? Cerveli and Pena get back to back hits? what is this bizaro word!
OH CRAP GIRARDI YOUR AN IDIOT FOR PLAYING CERVELLI AND PENA TOGETHER!!!!
/LoHud’d
I was just about to say the same thing. I mean.
+1
Why are people getting days off?????
If it was Cano and Melky it would make sense becuase their just going through the motions and possibly lazy.
Because Dominicans are lazy while white guys are ‘gritty’.
yay bottom of the order
Wang definitely needed to stay in the bullpen for a couple more weeks! That might increase his trade value.
he is an iddiot for playing them together, luck happens…
If Girardi is an “idiot” for playing his backup catcher and backup shortstop on the same day, EVERY SINGLE MANAGER IN BASEBALL HISTORY IS AN IDIOT.
Every team does this. EVERY TEAM.
every single manager plays both thier back ups on the same day really?
no they don’t some actually use logic and only play one backup per day unless injuries dicated otherwise…
Yes, they do. Seriously. Go to baseball-reference.com, pick your favorite manager, go through the gamelogs, and show me one manager, JUST ONE MANAGER, who has ever gone through a 162 game season and never played two backups on the same day.
I dare you.
Why would all managers do this?? Rest 2 perfectly capable players or even one perfectly capable player the same day as another is mildly hurt…after they lose and only score 2 runs?? Kind of sounds CRRAAAAZZZYYYY
Same challenge.
Go to baseball-reference.com, pick your favorite manager, go through the gamelogs, and show me one manager, JUST ONE MANAGER, who has ever gone through a 162 game season and never played two backups on the same day.
I dare you.
you’re the worst.
This inning…it’s time for ARod to get a big hit. Not calling for his head on a plate if he f’s up again, but if he doesn’t get a hit or a walk, he needs an adjustment of sorts.
He’s in a slump, it happens, its annoying, but it happens.
I guess, the idea is to get a run in. DOn’t have to get a hit for that unless there’s 2 outs.
Yeah, that’d be fine. Sac fly, even. The guy is really tight and slumping rigtht now.
mirrors, mattresses and cameras??
ohhhh an adjustment…
I’m gonna say no way Swish gets a run in.
Way to be optimistic! You’re trying a reverse jinx aren’t you?
Uhh, ya it worked!
Swisher = 1
You = 0
0-1
swish walks, tex jogs (around the bases)
Yikes
does anyone get to more 3-2 counts than swisher?
he has more 3-2 counts than hits.
Fuck yeah.!!!
Great AB Swish.
Swisher, clogging the bases.
Oh look, 3-2 count. Where have I seen that before? Lol!
“Swisher really has a good eye. That’s why he walks so much.”
Thanks Sterling.
Ugh swisher sucks so badly. Hitting him 2nd was such a bad idea.
At least he didn’t hit a rally killing HR there.
ietcbikuwmfotiwttit
(i enjoyed this comment because i know you were making fun of the idiots who think this is true)
BOOM THAT JUST HAPPENED
haha
Weird, Swisher drew a 3-2 count and then walk. I love that guy so much.
come on tex!
for everyone who thinks walks arent as good as hits, eat me
I love Nick Swisher.
Funniest team name in BP’s Hacking Mass competition = “Walks Clog the Bases”.
I had a good shot this year until Silva had to get hurt
yes!!!!!
Tex smoked that one!!!! LOL
Wait, you mean the game isn’t over after 4 innings?
This team is Teh worst evs!!!
Bye lohudders
I hope most of you got off the ledge. The Yankees are in every game with this lineup regardless of the score.
YESSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS
The bleeder hits have now found their way to the Yankees side.
new ball game baby.
What a bomb!
YES TEX!!!!!
OH SHIT TIME FOR THE OAKTAGGERS TO SHUT UP IT’S A TIE GAME AGAIN
BANGWAGON!
you had me at bang
OMG they’re allowed to score? I thought it was over after the 3rd?
You would think by some of the reactions by fans that these games are only 3 innings.
Ok, Tex took the pressure off A-Rod. Let’s see if he can get a hit…
Hahaha! JP man, leave work and have a beer or 9. Do you even have fun watching (or gamecasting) this game?! Don’t make it about A-Rod after a three run hit.
And yes! He CAN get a hit!
I guess it doesnt count, because there was no pressure?
Wang with a better line than 5-2 Mccarthy! Can’t believe Texas started him!
Tex sucks. He just ruined the day for all those people that were convinced the game was over.
My eyes say Tex isn’t good!!! Fuck the stats
hahaha ietc
And I thought they were getting swept.
A-Rod is putting one in the stands here… Just have that feeling.
I’d be ok if he just took a walk
Well, he almost put one in the stands… By a groundrule double.
0-1?
I know in the long run CC is the better pick is winter, but damn Tex is making a strong argument.
Hopefully its a tie by October
I’m not sure that he was the better signing. Starting pitchers are much more volatile and injury prone than 1B. CC’s best case is far more valuable than Tex’s, but the downside is also much worse.
WHY IN THE WORLD DID GIRARDI SIT JETER AND POSADA?!!! OUR OFFENSE SUCKS!
Out of the blue: CMW to Philly for Jason Donald & JJ Happ/Bastardo?
Who would take Wang at this point? And Donald is one of their top prospects.
Pissss…. the yankees are winning the game.
Guy that was expected to be a number two starter this year for a future utility player and a future back end starter, no.
They wouldn’t do it.
Not in a million years.
I don’t know much about those guys, but I would trade Jeter and CC for a guy named Bastardo.
Check Fangraphs, Bastardo only has two pitches — fastball and curve.
BOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
im sorry thought that was status quo
It’s alright. Completely understandable.
A ROD SUCKS SO BADLY OMG LET’S BOO HIM SO UNCLUTCH LEAVES SO MANY RUNNERS ON!1111!!!!!!!1
Where’s the booing now? Idiots.
Arod hits the longest singles.
Its because he hits the ball so hard.
alex going the other way!
lol Al is sooo relieved! Sick.
a rod is so unclutch.
A-Rod sucks, that hit was so unclutch. I mean its just a regular season game.
He’s lazy, didn’t hustle for the double.
i like the name haha i loved me smome stankawiecz.
and ive noticed that it seems this year arod has been much better in the clutch, or at least, one of two tings, not ocming up in thos esituations as much and therefore we notice the good things mroe because there are not as many failures, or he really is just doing better when it counts.
im not saying he sucks or anything cause there are so many chances to be “clutch” in a season i just wonder why it seems this year he truly does come through more when its closer (again, a hr when its 4-1 or 4-3 still is a run, not saying that but im sure some ppl will not read everything iw rite anyway)
I’m really missing Jack P. right now.
The Mets might have to sign the real Andy S to play SS right now.
That ARod is a bum.
Thank you, ARod. All is well.
He didn’t hit a homerun!!! BOOOOOO!!!!
I really can’t wait till Al can steal and run again! Hopefully it comes this season, I’m not too sure though.
Your forgiven… until next time.
Meh My eyes still say he’s unclutch and selfish
Looks like I will be having crow for dinner, and it will be delicious
OH, GIRARDI YOU IDIOT, WE’LL NEVER SCORE 6 RUNS WITH THIS LINEUP WITH CERVELLI AND PENA IN IT TOGETHER!!!!!!!
/LoHud’d
lmao
ESPECIALLY WHEN THEY LEAD OFF THE INNING!! WHAT ARE YOU UFCKIN CRAZY AND THINK THEY GET BACK TO BACK SINGLES????
OH, GIRARDI YOU IDIOT, WE’LL NEVER SCORE 6 RUNS WITH THIS LINEUP WITH CERVELLI AND PENA IN IT TOGETHER!!!!!!!
/LoHud’d/Axl’d
Fixed.
/Axl’d
and
/dre’d
ROBBIE STOP TRYING!! You’re dominican!
pile it on. no mercy!!!!
or, you know, mercy
Ah, that’s shitty. Right to Kinsler.
Are people booing A-Rod for getting doubled off now? That’d be classic
I have a feeling this game is more likely to end 13-12 than 6-5.
i don’t think you’re going out on a limb there
depends on which version of the yankees bullpen shows up today
Bring in Tomko! He has great numbers against these guys lately just like Hughes
he’s unclutch at the plate, in the field, and now on the basepaths too
Too bad Wanger didn’t finish the inning. He’d be in line for a W.
Where are all the people who were bitching earlier about Girardi not starting Jeter or Posada?
That’s why he is the manager and we are blogging.
+1
i hope thats not the only reason hes managing. giving a day off to a 35 yr SS and sitting his catcher the day game after a night game
Oh! Noooo
Its not like they don’t have 109 more games to go or anything.
I thought I wasn’t manager because I never played professional baseball. but perhaps I was wrong.
(I didn’t whine about him sitting Jete and Po so perhaps I am just as smart as he is.)
You have my veto for manager the next time the spot opens.
That was a funny typo.
Robbie Cano stole a base BUT I THOUGHT HE WAS GOING THROUGH TEH MOTIONS!?!?!?!?!?
He’s a lazy Dominican, of course. He could have stolen 2 bases if he was hustling.
He’s got more SB’s than Errors now this season. ;D
Well, people from different countries go through the motions in different ways, Robby does it in the field, being Italian from time to time I go through the motions while making pasta sauce and engaging in organized crime, and bottling olive oil
while wearing wife beaters and gold chains?
Do you also do Tailoring work on the side?
In a wonderful confirmation of a stereotype, I made meatballs yesterday.
Was your heart into it?
Fair enough.
You’re Italian?
BIPPITY BOPPY, BOBBITY BOOPY!!!!
Just cause you have a mustache doesn’t mean you can speak Italian.
Ooops, mustache fart.
ietc
I just hope Cervelli doesn’t start making pasta sauce behind home plate.
He’s so inattentive that he drifted to 2nd by luck
That’s funny
How’d that lazy bum steal 2nd
ha. We should make a My New Haircut: blogger edition. Fuckin Oaktag!
Haha, I like it.
only if it is stop motion created on oaktag
Instead of “Fuckin’ sluts” it’ll be “Fuckin’ LoHudders.
Yeah my fingers cracked. One mother fucker says something stupid, I’m callin him out.
gangster = bridge to mo
I doubt he goes that long today. However, if Wang has another outing like this one against Boston he could take Aceves’ place with Aceves becoming more high-leverage IMO.
Nice rally, yet I see no reason for anyone to take days off while in the line-up or even an AB
How can anyone take a day while in an AB?
They just throw down their bat and say fuck it, I’m off today. Here Girardi, you swing the bat. I’m going to soak up some rays at Jones Beach.
must be a lazy Dominican
I see no reason for anyone to take days off while in the line-up or even an AB
What does this mean? To whom/what are you referring?
I don’t think they take days off. I think they are given days off by a smart manager who does not want to grind them into the ground in the first week of June.
This is he gangster we’ve all grown to know and love.
Ah crap.
motherfuck
Goddammit Kinsler. Second break for him today.
We should cut the Gangster…
Blood in, blood out holmes.
Vato’s locos holmes
GIMME SOME CHON-CHON!!!
no mames vey
Reminds me of a simpler time.
do you know what it means? The Mexicans here in Colorado use it as a slang.
No girl, very…
Depending on what your talking about…
If shes hot ect.
that was mammoth
damn oh well, at least its tied
Alright enough of this. Send Aceves down and bring up Edwar.
We should bring up Brackman for the BP…
Getting the ball to Mo might be a mission today.
And no, it’s not a bandbox. Three more homers today….
maybe the pitching sucks
Kinslers hit about 75 feet up on the foul pole and Cruz’s was hit into the visitors bullpen. Those are gone in any field. Only Damon’s was suspect.
4 HRs total in the first 2 games from the top 2 HR hitting teams. Most being shots that are gone in any stadium. Relax
jesus christ, where are singleton and cone?????
Sitting with Bob, and working on peanut throwing for KOD
On the bright side Putz just gave up another run
keep trying jj, maybe the 6th inning will be the one?
We get it. Paul O’Neill eats a lot. Talk. About. The. Game. Please.
When was the last time they had a walk off?
Because this game has one written all over it.
A_Rod my pick.
How can anyone bet against the Melk Man
+1
its the new tradition…only five more walkoffs and leche is a true Yankee…
You’re like a whole new mustang!!!!
My pick… Robby Cano.
Frankie Cervelli.
Pasta fagiole in the house.
posada off the bench
So I missed most of the game. Anyone here saying “OMFG A-ROD IS TEH SOX0R” yet?
ohhh yeah. Luckily we took the lead and most of them left.
I dont think anyone did. However, there were several people that dropped claiming the world was going to end and how Girardi sucks for putting Pena and Cervelli in there the same game and other crap.
No.
The sux0rs apparently are Girardi for playing two reserves together (THE HORROR!!!!) and Cashman for not giving this start to Hughes (even though it wasn’t his day to throw).
One time brah…
One time.
/ironhorse’d myself for it.
Yeah, but you weren’t the only one.
His day to throw is the day Girardi tells him to. Annnnnnnnnnnnd scene.
Yanks are winning this game.
What’s your prediction record today?
I’ll give you the “Yanks scoring 3 runs this inning”, since they did before they scored 4 and 5.
I said it before and I’ll say it again: Phil looks really sad out in the bullpen.
STEAL PENA STEAL!!!
NO YOU JACKASS, DONT STEAL!!!
hit and run?
Damn backups keep getting on the base paths! WTF!
Is it possible for someone’s 2-seamer to be faster than their 4-seamer?
I definitely send Pena with 2 outs.
No Prob. Mr. 3-2 leads off next inning.
Paul O’Neill is so not a gamer when it comes to his hats. I’ve had the same one for 10 years.
Oh well, just don’t let them score Ace or whoever else
