Coming into this game LHB had a .768 OPS vs Coke as opposed to RHB who had a .692 OPS. Tonight, the one LHB he faced got a hit, the 2 RHB he got out.

Does it worry anyone else that, in the past few games, it seems like a home run or nothing offense for the Yankees? Last night they scored three without a home run, but tonight all seven have come via the long ball. That might work at home, but it’s a risky way to win.
Not really, because a home run is a result of the Yankees hitting the ball hard. When you hit the ball hard, you’re going to score runs. It just happens more swiftly when the ball leaves the park…

A-Rod popped up to short right and Castillo botched it. Jeet scored from second and Tex scored from first.
A-Rod hit a sky high pop-up with 2 outs in the 9th on a 3-1 count (with Jeter on 2nd and Teixeira on 1st after a walk) which hit Castillo square in the center of his glove and popped out. Yankees ended up winning 9-8 because of Teixeira hustling and scoring from first on what should’ve been a game ending pop-up.
K-Rod managed to pop A-Rod up for what should have been the final out. Castillo started stumbling around in short RF and the ball bounced off his glove. He relayed the throw in, but Jeter and Teixeira had already scored.

Routine high pop up to very shallow RF, Castillo drifts back to catch it and it sails on him a little and it hits the heel of his glove and he drops it. Jeter and Tex were running all the way around and both scored before Castillo could throw it in.

Castillo flat out clanked a basic pop-up. It was so basic, that if it had happened in little league, the poor kid that did it would’ve been booed.
Then, with awesome (lack of) presence, he tossed the ball into second base when he could’ve thrown home to get Teixeira.
He’s used to watching his own team. He had no idea that a runner could get around the bases that fast.

Just thought I’d throw my two cents in there.
Agreed. It really bothers me when I see players make a play or get a nice hit and then do the sign on the cross and point in the sky. I’m Catholic so I don’t have anything against religion; the fact that they think that God gave them, specifically, the strength or whatever to do what they did over the pitcher is pretty absurd.
So why is it ok for us to say they have ‘God given ability’ but not okay for them to thank him? Not fair to say its absurd, a guy slides into second and points up, maybe hes pointing up to a coach or father who died who taught him how to hit while he was younger, or maybe he’s thanking for his God given ability to be 6’4 and strong as mule with 20/10 eyesight and the ability to get in ‘the zone’ at the plate.
I hate KRod’s celebration like everyone but lets be fair.
