Jane Heller book signing and trivia contest

By

Earlier this year, I reviewed Jane Heller’s Confessions of a She-Fan and found it an enjoyable and humorous read. Jane e-mailed me over the weekend with word of a book signing. She’ll be at Stan’s Bar across the street from the old stadium on Wednesday from 3:30-5:30 p.m. Anyone heading up early for the Yanks/Nats game should stop by and say hi. For more on the signing, check out Jane’s site.

Meanwhile, I have an extra copy of her book to give away. In honor of today’s 15-0 drubbing of the Mets, I have a score-themed question. Prior to today, twice since 1954, the Yankees have won by a score of 15-0. The first person to tell me the dates of those games, the Yanks’ opponents and the winning and losing pitchers will win the book. Both of the games were road games. Leave the answer in the comments, and be sure to leave a valid e-mail address in the e-mail field of your comment.

He didn’t spell out the first names

      • Rob H.

doesn’t he have the wrong losing pitcher though?

So here’s our situation: Rob H. got the info right. Steve H. spelled Don Larsen’s name correctly. I have just one copy of the book to give out.

      • VO

        Steve H wrote 1997

        • VO

Since I helped you out, I think I deserve it.

        • http://www.riveraveblues.com Benjamin Kabak

          Rob H., you win.

          • Rob H.

But but, he spelt the name wrong. Look down I did it ALL right.

      • Rob H.

haha it’s cool. You can give the book to Steve. I probably would take forever to read it anyway.

        • Rob H.

disregard this. i’ll make time. lol

        • Steve H

I doubt I’d end up reading it. And how the hell did I put 1997???

Give it to VO, he sounds most interested.

          • Rob H.

yeah, I agree. Give it to VO. it’s cool by me.
