  1. Tom Zig says:

woo hoo GI Joe commercial…how bad do you guys think it will be?

  2. Teix is the Man says:
If I could build a rotation around one guy, it would be Haren.

Felix Hernandez is six years younger than Dan Haren.

    I’m just saying…

  3. Mike Axisa says:

There’s a better chance of Melky Cabrera hitting a walk-off grand slam tonight than there is of the GI Joe movie being good.

  4. Teix is the Man says:

Kevin Youkilis will have a J-Mac like moment, coming in late in the game to hit 2 hr’s in one at bat, winning All-Star Game MVP, and ride off into the sunset, proving grit conquers all.
For Diamond Cutters, I’m Peter Gammons, ESPN.

  5. Mike Pop says:

After his all star game performance, the interest in Roy Halladay has decreased. Right now, the Red Sox are the most interested.

    PG.

    • Drew says:

The Red Sox have the guys to do it too. Guys like Kattaras and Van Evry are highly heralded across baseball.

      PG.

      • Mike Pop says:

They could just package Brad Penny and then the Blue Jays could trade him for Justin Smoak.

      • JobaWockeeZ says:

They have so much depth that if they traded half of their starters they’d still have the best rotation in baseball.

        PG.

  6. Teix is the Man says:

    Billingsley only threw 90. WTF!!!

  7. Tony says:

Crawford has the Gooden sweats right now.

  8. Salty Buggah says:

How is Crawford so sweaty already? He just got in the game.

Joe Buck doesnt know about sagging…

  9. I have such a huge crush on Chase Utley.

  10. Salty Buggah says:

    I call a Jeter DP

  11. Cokie says:

What’s with Jeter’s shoes? Looks like he’s wearing infantry boots.

  12. Accent Shallow says:

I’d really rather see All-Star jerseys.

  13. Dela G says:

    JETER SCORES!!

    3-3

  14. Salty Buggah says:

    Mauer and Jeter!!!

  15. Tony says:

Jeter got all captainey on this game.

  16. Mike Pop says:

If there was one guy I could start a franchise with, it’d be Joe Mauer.

  17. Accent Shallow says:

As nice as Mauer would look in Yankee pinstripes, I really hope the Twins sign him to a nice, long extension.

  18. Tony says:

Pujols is on griffin steroids spiked with a touch of unicorn semen.

    • Accent Shallow says:

If his performance is enhanced by mythical creatures, why lame ones like unicorns? Why not minotaurs, kraken, dragons, shai hulud, jackalopes, or cod?

  19. Salty Buggah says:

Was it me or did Pujols made that last play look harder than it was? Tex makes that without divng

  20. Dela G says:

how the hell were the yankees not able to trade for edwin jackson?

    • Accent Shallow says:

Because they didn’t have a Matt Joyce-type outfielder in their system? Because the Rays were unlikely to trade him within the division? Because their rotation seemed pretty air-tight in the off-season, so much so that Phil Hughes was starting in Scranton?

  21. V says:

From the previous thread (I was late to the party ;-) ):

I do not trade a potential superstar bat for a 32 year old pitcher.

Pitchers, even the ‘known commodities’, are fragile creatures.

Chris Carpenter was signed to a nice extension by the Cardinals after a few years of utter dominance. How’d that work out?

Roy Halladay has already had one injury this season. Who’s to say he pitches a season and a half of dominant, injury-free baseball? The odds are probably less than 80%. I need 100% to deal Montero.

  22. I did not think Jackson was going to be this good this year. I was way wrong on that trade.

  23. Dela G says:

first year back in the AL?

he was in the AL last year mcmoron

  24. Tony says:

    Edwin Jackson for Matt Joyce

    Worst trade ever?

  25. Drew says:

It’s crazy how EJax has turned it around.

    • Dela G says:

it also helps to not have to face the yankees, sox, jays, and orioles a lot

he has been amazing, and his fasball seems to have gotten harder to hit at 96-97

      • Drew says:

He’s always had the velocity I think. He always elevated it and walked a lot of hitters. This year I think he’s put it all together.

    • AndrewYF says:

Great, now if Hughes is still struggling 3 years from now, people will still be saying “Remember Edwin Jackson!”

  26. Andy In Sunny Daytona says:

Are Scooby Doo and Shaggy “G” now?

  27. That Taco Bell ad made me wish Taco Bell didn’t exist.

  28. Salty Buggah says:

WOW at the Taco Bell ad

  29. Drew says:

Did that commercial really just happen or am I hallucinating?

  30. BklynJT says:

All about the Roosevelt’s baby. That commercial was awesome!

  31. Is Joe Buck going tO SCREAM EVERYTIME A BALL IS HIT To right field?

  32. Drew says:

    They called Bartlett, Ben Zobrist.

  33. I will never eat Taco Bell. Ever. Again.

  34. Mike Pop says:

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MXngi6tUma0

Hahaha, all the comments are people going to that because of the All-Star game like me.

  35. Salty Buggah says:

I would love to have Adam Jones playing CF for us

  36. JackC says:

If this weren’t so busy being an All-Star game, it’d be a pretty good game, actually

  37. Nate says:

Who did the camera just show… (and why)? Looked like Voldemort o.0

  38. [...] Confidence Poll « 2009 All Star Game Spillover Thread Jul [...]

  39. Salty Buggah says:

This has been a super fast game.

I’m sure Pujols knows hes the best

    • Moshe Mandel says:

Here is the problem. Albert is god, in which case he is infallible and cannot be wrong. He said that he is not the best, then he cannot be the best. But because he is god, he has to be the best. We end up in a spiral that should mean the end of the universe any minute now. I’m going to leave now. Gotta get my towel.

  40. Hova says:

Great voice, but this lady looks orange. Spray tan gone horribly bad?

  41. Thomas says:

    Carl Crawford is awesome.

  42. Cokie says:

    Papelbum looking solid

  43. BklynJT says:

Leave it to the next overrated closer, paplefuck, to make things interesting.

  44. Nate says:

Damn good catch… Too bad, Despite rooting for the AL, Papelbon getting hit hard is always a good thing.

  45. Salty Buggah says:

look at Papelbum almost blowing it, giving up two hard hit outs…lucky for him Crawford was there

  46. Nate says:

A really really terrific bullpen in Boston. You just need to ignore the past month.

  47. Dela G says:

    carl crawford is incredible

  48. JobaWockeeZ says:

Fox boasting about Boston’s bullpen? Please tell why I am not surprised.

  49. Salty Buggah says:

Heh Crawford looks like 50 cent’s younger brother at times

  50. VO says:

If only Tampa Bay decided not to take Crawford’s option.

  51. Thomas says:

I actually just did a a facepalm after seeing that Flomax commercial. Also, my roommate worked for the company that made Flomax and they used to make fun of the marketing department for those commercial.

  52. Drew says:

    I <3 Grandy

  53. Mike Axisa says:

I’m not going to lie, this game has been pretty entertaining. Nathan for the 8th, Mo for the 9th, home field in the WS.

  54. Tony says:

    AL PRIDE

I will stop telling Detroit jokes for the next week

  55. Salty Buggah says:

    Granderson!!!

  56. Heath Bell was putting a little something on those IBB pitches.

  57. Tony says:

Can I get an “LOLMETS” for Heath Bell?

Once a Met, always a Met. Hahaha, the crowd is so upset.

  58. JobaWockeeZ says:

OMG STFU ABOUT GRIT PL0X KTHXBAI

  59. Drew says:

“Gritty at bat.” I literally L’edOL at that. What happened to good or great AB’s, now it’s always gritty or gutty.

  60. Salty Buggah says:

This game has had a HUGE hand by the Al East

  61. Someone please choke the life out of McCarver!

  62. JobaWockeeZ says:

And please stop talking about Youk -_-
Oh and they would bring up A-Rod and Teix. Please shut up Fox you fucking Red Sox lovers. God I hate you more than ESPN.

  63. Mike Axisa says:

FOX fails when comparing Youk’s salary to A-Rod’s and Tex’s. Talk to me when Youk hits the open market.

  64. BklynJT says:

Sorry but there is no player that I respect less than him. Also, maybe you should mention that the lumberjack has yet become eligible to free agency.

  65. JackC says:

Youklis’ photo looks like he’s been caught in more than one Meaghan’s Law inspired sting

  66. Hova says:

You know what that salary graphic showed me? Pukeilis is a retard and his agent completely screwed him over.

    • JobaWockeeZ says:

Never hit free agency. He’ll have a Teix contract by the Sox when he does. No doubt. If he doesn’t then Fox can go brag how much he loves the game but for the love of God I really want McCarver to STFU. Fox is so fail.

  67. Moshe Mandel says:

Seriously? Was that necessary? Why on earth would A-Rod be in that graphic? What does he have to do with Youkilis? Ridiculous.

  68. Riddle says:

    Kevin Youkilis > A-Rod + Teixera

and for only a fraction of the cost!

  69. Dela G says:

adam jones with the game changer

    they should put wake in

let him make the NL look silly

    but maddon says no

  70. JackC says:

These people are too emotionally invested in pizza. And I’m a man who feels strongly about his pizza

  71. Mike Pop says:

    Nathan or K-Rod?

  72. JackC says:

George Will and Bud Selig are in the middle of a hotly contested bad haircut-off

  73. Mike Axisa says:

Mo for the four out save!

  74. Dela G says:

    damn it

    wake would destroy howard

  75. Mike Axisa says:

I want to see the NL take the lead, and then K-Rod blow it in the ninth. Is that wrong of me?

  76. V says:

    This AB is the game.

  77. Mike Axisa says:

Nathan’s got him. Breaking ball within 6 inches of the plate and he’s toast.

  78. Kyle R says:

I don’t think I’ve ever seen Nathan actually pitch well.

  79. Ace says:

Do they play ‘Enter Sandman’ when Mo comes in?

  80. Ivan says:

Who’s a bigger sucker for breaking balls out of the K zone, Howard or Soriano? lol.

  81. Drew says:

    Homefield advantage sounds good.

  82. JackC says:

I wouldn’t think the guy would want his apartment that tightly sealed up a few minutes after he’d eaten Taco Bell

  83. Drew says:

I know Inge had a great start and all but, how the hell is he there over Al?

  84. Thomas says:

I’d like to see K-Rod bat against Rivera, just so Mo can show him how it is done.

  85. Dela G says:

man i was praying werth wouldn’t get that

  86. BklynJT says:

    Whoa, that catch was awesome.

  87. JackC says:

    Nice play Werth

  88. I did not think Werth was gonna make that play.

  89. JackC says:

So the NL centerfield depth chart is two Phillies deep.

  90. Hova says:

I can’t believe Mariano has a kid that age. Mo still looks like a young kid himself.

  91. Outside? Bullshit that was right on the corner.

  92. Dela G says:

    HOLY CRAP!!

    96MPH!

  93. Mike Axisa says:

Heh, the FOX gun just had Mo at 96.

  94. JobaWockeeZ says:

I think Fox has mistaken Mo for a Red Sox player.

  95. Steve in PDX says:

a 21 yo against Mo? at least he got the bat on the ball…

  96. Salty Buggah says:

    Mo hit 96?!!!

  97. Nikhil R. says:

    Bartlett is solid at short.

  98. E-ROC says:

Werth just had to sign that damn extension. I was hoping he’d be a Yankee.

  99. Mike Axisa says:

Now that I think about it, four players from my fantasy team are in this game. Hawpe, Josh Johnson, Greinke and Felix.

  100. JackC says:

    Nasty pitch from Mo

  101. Ivan says:

That’s just not fair. Not fair at all.

  102. Evan says:

Hawpe got owned on that 1-1 pitch.

  103. Did he just say Brad Hawpe is a good defensive outfielder?

  104. Mike Axisa says:

Did Joe Buck just call Brad Hawpe a very good defensive outfielder? He did, didn’t he.

  105. Dela G says:

    dayuuuuuuum

    mariano looked vintage

  106. Ivan says:

    No chance Hawpe. None.

  107. E-ROC says:

Poor Hawpe. He was just helpless up there.

  108. Drew says:

    Hanley looks like a kid…

  109. Tony says:

The Sandman entered, The Sandman won.

    Away with your inferior league.

  110. Steve in PDX says:

    game set match

  111. Evan says:

    AL does it again!

  112. Ivan says:

Another All-Star game, another AL All-Star win.

  113. JackC says:

Mo Mo, Mo. You are a better than average pitcher.

  114. Salty Buggah says:

    Mo is GOD

  115. NYQ says:

    The GREAT Mo!!!!!!!!!!1

  116. giselle says:

    mariano’s son is old.

  117. Tony says:

You just know Papelbon is going to blow the streak the SECOND Mo retires.

  118. Dela G says:

    mariano does it again!

  119. Riddering says:

    Mo remains unbelievable.

  120. BklynJT says:

Mo’s kid looks like a mini Obama.

  121. zzzz says:

rivera just sealed the deal on the yanks home field advantage for the world series. yeah, i went there.

  122. Hova says:

    Carl Crawford MVP?

  123. Bam Bam Balboni says:

Mariano “The Masterpiece” Rivera does it yet again. You make all Yankee fans proud. Congrats on the All Star saves record. I love Mo !!!!!Now back to my beer. Goodnight and see you guys Friday night when we tame the pussy cats from Detroit.

  124. Mike Axisa says:

Well, at least the NL’s been competitive the last few years.

  125. desus says:

We should sign Mo’s son now. Just in case.

  126. yankeefan91 Arod fan says:

haha that trophy is about the same height as that microphone.

  127. Dela G says:

    dear god

please let carl crawford’s option not be picked up by the rays

    thanks

    Dela

  128. Hova says:

I bet Bud Selig got beat up a lot as a kid. Now he has more money than God.

  129. Mike Axisa says:

    Damn, Papelbon got the win.

  130. Hova says:

Mo is the freaking best. We can now rest easy. The Yankees will have home field in this year’s World Series. Have a goodnight fellas.

  131. Quikksand says:

AL Wins, mo is the man
