Not really a waste. Who have the Yankees lost in the Rule V draft that has turned into a good prospect?

Gotta send some love to AJax and Zach, so it tempers my rant on Brackman - for all you appologists bringing up Randy Johnson as a comp for Brackman, feel this:

Johnson, age 23 season: 3.73 ERA, 140 IN, 100 H, 163 K in DOUBLE A

Brackman, age 23 season: 6.01 ERA, 73 IN, 59 H, 72 K in LOW A

Oh, and Johnson made his major league debut the very next year, at age 24. Not so sure Big Brack is going to make it to the bigs next year...

Brackman. Another great draft by the Yanks.

He's a huge bust for the fact that they put him on the 40 man roster. what a waste

Igawa has a rare appearance with more ground outs than fly outs and it doesn't make it in to DotF. That ugly bastard just can't catch a break.

He's going to be on the 40 until a) he gets traded or b) he runs out of options and is still struggling.

I'm going with a combo deadarm/mechanical issue right now. He's never pitched this much in college/pros, plus post-TJ. I'm thinking he'll head to Camp Nardi this off-season, work on getting everything cleaned up, and the team will bring him back next year in either Charleston or push him to Tampa and let him go.

Worst case? Bullpen if they figure he can't go 150-180 innings a year.

Where would you come up with a David Delucci comp? Delucci is one of the most fundamentally sound players around, who gets everything that he possibly can out of his skill set. Melky is a gifted 5 tool player who has the toolset of a Daniel Dye. He would never make it in the majors, unless he can find a way to hit the offspeed stuff.

Mesa's either going to be a star or a will never sniff a cup of coffee, but he's not going to be a valuable fundamental type of player like Delucci.
