Looking at replay Cano shouldve drilled AJ in the face with the throw, probably wouldve gotten an interference called which wouldve meant an automatic DP.
You know, this will probably sound like sour grapes and whining, but the Yankees lead the majors in walks and are 27th in strike outs. To me that says collectively they have a pretty good idea at the plate. They’ve struck out looking 7 times tonight, that means the umpires is doing a shitty, shitty job.
now when Hughes strikes out other team’s 3rd or 4th hitters its damn Hughes is good. but when Thorton is having an amazing season strikes out Tex we dont deserve to win? how many fucking come back wins does this team need before people stop giving up before the game is over?
it’s not like its going to go down between now and 4pm tomorrow.
everyone wants a starter, but doesnt want to give up those top 4 guys. what else is left besides him? Royals GM said hes not looking to sell didnt he? if they’re just getting a mid level prospect why would they trade bannister?
Yeah but what incentive does KC have to move him? He’s cheap, under control for a few more years, and what are they getting in return? if its the same package then yes i pick bannister, but it cant be the same package for both
I knew the Gods wouldnt let that run hold up. If the Sox want to win, do it with an EARNED run. The kind with hits and walks and not 37-year-olds falling and dirty slides by douchebags with bleach blonde crew cuts.
10:33pm: Heyman says the Yankees and Mariners are now “talking Washburn.” The Yankees won’t part with Phil Hughes, Joba Chamberlain, Austin Jackson, Austin Romine or Jesus Montero, but with those exceptions, Heyman says the M’s have their pick of Yankees prospects.
Why don’t you think about what I said, and not tell me I’m not a manager? I mean, I know that I’m not manager. But do you know that you should never lose a game like that while your best reliever sits in the bullpen?
So now there are 3 trustworthy arms in high leverage situations: Mo, Hughes and Ace. I pace quickly back and forth in my living room when they use any other BP arm in a big spot.
The game was on the line. I want the best pitcher on the mound when the game is on the line. I don’t see the logic in wanting Phil Coke to come in a game with the winning run on second but not wanting him to close the game out. It defeats the purpose.
It’s a tough decision. I have no problem with what Girardi did. I really thought Coke was going to get through that and almost did. Fuck it, tough loss no matter what.
This is the exact reason why I have NEVER understood when managers don’t call on their closer. If Phil Coke was the guy that you wanted to get the last 2 outs with runners on base, then he can be the guy to close the game out. Mo is the best pitcher on the team and he should be in the high leverage situations PERIOD
That doesn’t mean that it is the correct decision. If Coke can come into a game with the winning run in scoring position then why shouldn’t he be able to come into the game and get the last 3 outs?
Why cant you understand how stupid it is when you say that? BECAUSE managers dont bring the closer into a tie game on the road is EXACTLY WHY we harp on it.
To those who wanted Hughes in the rotation in place of Mitre. Just imagine this bullpen without Hughes. It would be like the beginning of the season all over again. Thank God Phil is staying where he is.
Tough loss but we’ll come back out tomorrow and crush this team. Yanks gave the game away tonight. Won’t happen again.
I know it wasn’t the cause for the loss but I still blame the Pei….whatever the hell his name is slide for it. I always hated that guy, he’s an overall jerk. I hope Burnett remembers that for Saturday.
Also is anyone else worried about Phil Cokes hand? He looked like he kept grabbing it after the ball was hit.
No, what Tex did was slide in hard a little off the bag. This dude basically waited until he was 2 feet away from Cano then went down. Almost like he wanted to taken down the catcher.
Why can’t managers ever let a solid pitcher work through an inning? Hughes allowed a hit to Thome due to a shift gap and a hit to a great hitter in Konerko. So he really only allowed 1 hit. With such solid past performances of late and great out pitches one has to ask why he was even pulled.
If anything, why would you pull Hughes and bring in a subpar reliever in a game deciding moment? Kid allows 1 baserunner in nearly 3 innings pitched.
35 pitches, 2 runners on, and it wasn’t just a straight two innings, he came in for an out in the 7th, pitched the eighth, then came out for the ninth.
Seriously, coke should be on this team, .185 hitters still get hits once in a while, etc.
The teams been amazing. it was a tough loss, but we’re still tied for the best record in baseball, still in 1st in the East. Come back tomorrow and get even, then take the series with 2 more.
this just shows you how bad coke has been in pressure situations. remember his save attempt? or even in baltimore when he got lucky with the 2 runners thrown out at home he hit the first guy then threw a wild pitch. I mean how do you fall 2-0 behind a guy batting 185? really looking foward to tommorow hopefully we get another lefty in th ebullpen
We have a lot of pitchers that don’t pitch well in high leverage situations. That is why Phil has been such a revelation in the pen. Coke, Ace, and Robertson are all poor in high leverage situations or worse than they are normally. We need relief help.
Don’t put Ace into that. how quickly we forget. it’s always, what have you done for me lately. what about that 4 inning sv? he really folded under the pressure there. gave up 1 hit. total waste of space.
Coke in high leverage- see above. People remember the failures by relievers in high leverage spots because they can cost you games, but he has been pretty impressive.
“11:05pm: Executives from three teams that have spoken with the Mariners tell ESPN.com’s Buster Olney that they get the sense the Mariners won’t move Washburn. The Mariners made a request earlier today, without asking for Hughes or Chamberlain, but the two sides haven’t spoken since.”
im abit worried about the defence this is the 2nd time this week theyve made multiple errors in a game and this one clearly cost them. there outfield is awful everytime a ball is hit to johnny damon i hold my breath.
Boo
FUUUUUUUCKKKKKKKKKKKK
3 errors!!!!
Lanny showed up? Suprise.
I know, that cracked me up. Has there ever been a Yankees fan that hates the Yankees as much as he does?
As soon as the opponent takes the lead – there’s Lanny!
Can’t all be homers who think the team is infallible. Why else would u be here? To post about how great everything is?
Being positive is not the same as being a homer.
I’m here no matter wins or losses. You’re here only when L’s happen or are in the middle of happening.
You never answer questions when people ask you anything.
You’re just a bum.
I wish Cano was white and gritty, like Pedroia, he might actually be good…..
lets score some damn runs
does that end Hughes’ scoreless streak?
If that was even an earned run, it would still be charged to Andy I think
Charged on Andy.
I don’t know how these things work–is it like a blown save, where it doesn’t matter who the run is charged to, as long as it scored on your watch?
the run was unearned, and even if it wasn’t its charged to Pettitte, so no.
Just score 3 runs and noone will care…..and wtf, they ruled that A-Rod play a hit?!
Let’s hope they remember how to hit. That’s the least they could do, since they don’t know how to play D.
What is the AJ #12 on molinas chest protector for.
That’s it. You’re dead, mallrat!
Cookie stand’s not part of the food court.
he food court is downstairs. The cookie stand is upstairs. It not like we’re talking quantum physics here.
Guarantee he blows a load through her back like a shotgun.
The only way he could bang regular chicks is with a kryptonite condom. That would kill him.
I’d hate to tell you what I think about in the bathroom…
They look happy, don’t they?
What, the bras?
How was that a K?
We BETTER tie it up!!!!!!!! and WIN!
I can already see how they lose in the playoffs in close games.
Damn errors!
cmon yanks
lets get these hits going
This game pisses me off because Pettitte should have won. End of story.
Next time Andy has a dud of an outing, the Yanks better score 10 runs for him.
That wasn’t a dirty play but it was pretty close for AJ.
What happened? Blacked out where I am and dont want to listen to the White Sox announcers.
AJ didnt slide until he was basically on the bag
A.J Pierzynski or however it’s spelled rolled into second to force Cano’s bad throw.
Goddamnit, I hate this umpire. Surprised that 0-2 pitch wasn’t called a fucking strike.
How many times can they go down looking? Swing the freaking bat.
Apparently another.
Trade for V-Mart, ASAP!
It’s hard to hit sliders that are that far outside.
There have been some bad calls. But most of the sliders on the outside corner were strikes, according to gameday.
Looking at replay Cano shouldve drilled AJ in the face with the throw, probably wouldve gotten an interference called which wouldve meant an automatic DP.
Word. Cano doesn’t make bad throws like that at all. And from the replays AJ didn’t take the most innocent slide in the world either.
Ok, Girardi? Could we get one of those ejection thingies?
The terrible field didn’t help the Yanks that inning.
swing the motherfucking bats you ‘tards
FUCK YOU UMP!
Dye does that more than anybody.
Jeter gets on base, just like i said he would
Anyone on Gameday or Pitch F/X are these pitches really strikes??
Most of them were, according to gameday. They were right on the edge, but strikes nonetheless.
yea but they were mostly outside or completely outside/inside
I dont think most of them were
I just looked on BrooksBaseball at the Jorge one and it was closer there than it looked on TV, but still a smidge outside.
We have arm chair GMs and armchair managers. Now we got armchair umpires. When does it end lol
At least Jeter knows whats up
cmon JD
Floyd got an ump that thought I’ll call everything a strike tonight.
Pettitte had 8 K’s and 0 BB’s tonight. Maybe, just maybe, the ump helped him too.
he did but not as much as Floyd, at least after the 1st 2 innings
I think Damon’s got it right now. I feel something good in my bones. Baseball Gods (baseball Mo’s?) wont let that BS run stand up.
you were right
Knew it. Tex’s time now.
Shit.
You know, this will probably sound like sour grapes and whining, but the Yankees lead the majors in walks and are 27th in strike outs. To me that says collectively they have a pretty good idea at the plate. They’ve struck out looking 7 times tonight, that means the umpires is doing a shitty, shitty job.
or the yanks batters’ eyes aren’t that good tonight
Or Floyd just brought his super-dirty breaking stuff tonight.
Or all of the above.
You just blew my mind.
Eh, it happens.
Little of both. Some days, it helps you out more than others.
2 run jack?
Against Thornton? I seriously doubt it.
Tough AB here for Damon.
Damn, Thornton’s killing it this season.
See, Johnny swung, you guys happy?
DAMON IS FUCKING AWESOME
That was a nice piece of hitting by Damon.
Oh geez
Let’s go, Tex!
Lets go Tex.
cmon Tex
http://brooksbaseball.net/pfx/.....v_size=500
Pitch F/X shows what we all thought.. I didn’t look at AP’s but I’m willing to bet we got similar calls.
Does that have swinging strikes or called strikes?
OK….3 run Tex message then.
If I were a fielder, and some asshole (AJ) ‘slid’ into me like that, I’d let him have my spikes, lol.
well, this sucks
wow tex
wow
ugh.
Damn. Was filthy that AB.
The Yankees are channeling their inner Alfonso Soriano.
kill me
shit man i hate games like this.
Damn, Thornton buried that one.
well folks that is the game. Yankees defense cost them this one. They looked like shit in the bottom of the 7th. Hope they win tomorrow.
Alex, Matsui, or Cano ties it up one way or another.
Book it.
will gladly take it.
Right idea, wrong result, it was Swisher
Yup. They decided to stop playing the ninth inning this year, right?
We can still win this game. If the score holds up, the yanks have their 3-4-5 hitters coming up.
4-5-6
Thx
Runner on second, game on the lineup and our #3 hitter strikes out in 3 pitches. We definately don’t deserve this win.
now when Hughes strikes out other team’s 3rd or 4th hitters its damn Hughes is good. but when Thorton is having an amazing season strikes out Tex we dont deserve to win? how many fucking come back wins does this team need before people stop giving up before the game is over?
262…in one season apparently
Al Deki Swish then Cano, I like our chances
3 errors (only charged 2 though)…1-8 with RISP. We better win
This game wasn’t lost on bad pitching or hitting, both teams pitched well, neither team hit well. If we lose its because of damn defense =(
http://twitter.com/SI_JonHeyman/status/2944293755
that leaves Z-Mac. like to see what Bannister costs since he is younger and under team control for a while.
Bannister please, no Washburn.
Plus Wash’s stock is way too high right now.
At this point I would rather wait until the rosters expand, and just use a combination of whoever we call up.
it’s not like its going to go down between now and 4pm tomorrow.
everyone wants a starter, but doesnt want to give up those top 4 guys. what else is left besides him? Royals GM said hes not looking to sell didnt he? if they’re just getting a mid level prospect why would they trade bannister?
i agree with you both especially with bannister get 50% GB’s while Washburn is getting only 36% GB’s and 43% flyballs accoring to fangraphs.
Yeah but what incentive does KC have to move him? He’s cheap, under control for a few more years, and what are they getting in return? if its the same package then yes i pick bannister, but it cant be the same package for both
Well, if Washburn walks after this year, the Yanks get a sandwich pick that would replace which ever guy they took.
I’d trade Z-Mac for Washburn and a sandwich pick in a heartbeat.
thats only if u offer him arb and risk paying him 12 mil next year.
I would have no problem with that. A slightly above average starter for $12m on a one year deal is fine.
must be nice to spend other people’s money. lol
That would probably be fine with me but I’m worried about Washburn’s flyball ratio.
Gordon Vs. Hughes. Interesting.
Lets be honest here.
Pettitte deserves the win?!?!?! I’d say Floyd deserves it. Pitched a great game against a better offense than Andy faced.
Yeah, but we’re Yankees fans.
True… Damn. Trying to make myself feel better.
Although I always feel the easiest loss to swallow is where the opposing starter is just dominating from the start.
Ya, but yanks made some bad mistakes tonight. Not to mention, Pettitte can’t get a W anymore!
and here we go
hughes = philthy
If only we had Bay, Lowell and Drew coming up. Guaranteed win!
All three of them suck horribly
Where’ Jenks?
Hat trick for ARod
ugh arod ugh
Its games like tonight that fuels the ARod haters.
Ouch A-Rod.
Why isn’t Thornton a SP?
A lefty throwing 97-98? That is just absurd.
at Busch tonight. Manny got boo’d pretty loudly. A few syringes in stands. Extra innngs. 5 1/2 year old Daughter got on jumbotron singing TMOTTBG.
Pujols, ankiel, Holliday hit homers.
GREAT crowd, nice stadium.
Torre looks like…torre.
Manny missed an easy catch, and there was much rejoicing.
Any syringes up in Big Mac land? heh
we’ve struck out QUITE A BIT tonight
So frustrating to know we gave this game away. In no way did the White Sox earn this win. Fuck.
YES!!! REVERSE JINX STRIKES!!! SWISHA!!!!
Oh my Mo. Take some pitches. 7 pitches, 2 K’s? Really?
Let’s hope the day off our batters took today will help them throughout this series.
hahahaha. shut up.
well hopefully Swisher can turn his night around right here.
HOLY FUCK
TITS!
FUCK YESSSSS
THANKYOU MR SWISHER
Wow, Thorton is damn good
suck on that ozzie
SWISHAA! HOLY FUCK
WHATS UP KOTHERFUCKERS!@!!!!!!
HELL YEA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
SWISHAHOUSE!!!
SWIIIIIIIIIIIIIIISH
SWIIIIIIIIIIIIIIISH
Take that Ozzie!!!!!!!
NICK SWISHA
THANK YOU JESUS!!
FUCK YESSSSSS
HOLY SHIT!!!!!!!!!
That just happened
SWISH!!!!!
YESSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS
YANKEES LOSE!!!! YANKEES LOSE!!!! wait, what, there’s a 9th inning. no one told me! what the fuck!
Wow, Thornton is damn good
Well I look dumb, I meant Nick Swisher is damn good
Rockie Road Redemption!
heh
HOLY FUCK! I LOVE YOU SWISHA!
then I JIZZED IN MY PANTS!
fucking epic.
Nick Swisher baby
Rough part of the order coming up… Do you leave Hughes in?
Hughes is a STARTING PITCHAH!!! He can go for awhile
Yep, start stretching him out to put him in the rotation.
The Third True Outcome.
Wow that was riverting.
I swear the umps zone has now expanded up too.
Did I not say Swisher would make Ozzie pay at least twice this series? There’s one, baby!
STEVE H, WHERE YOU AT?!
Mike Pop, nice call on the tying run.
Heh, had a 33% chance baby!
Now go buy a lotto ticket and keep your good vibe going.
and went 0-for-3
(just messin with ya, but you forgot Swisher)
Ozzie tried to put Swish in a box…. but its impossible
Hughsie was lobbying Eiland in the dugout it looked like.
SNICK WISHER!!!!
I wonder how many turned their tv’s off after the 2nd out…
i love him….poetic justice
that’s why i love sports, moments like that
I knew the Gods wouldnt let that run hold up. If the Sox want to win, do it with an EARNED run. The kind with hits and walks and not 37-year-olds falling and dirty slides by douchebags with bleach blonde crew cuts.
That wasn’t a slide, AJ pulled a Starfox 64 and did a barrel roll.
I fucking pwned that game bro. Had to do special things to get to different planets.
Defeat Andross!!
man i am so glad they got this to go to extras!
Not there yet, don’t jinx it
my bad
i forgot we were on the road
I would have been happier if they had a lead with Mo in there now, but this is a start.
That … was awesome.
Mike are you wearing pants?
… because I’m not.
Come on Hughes.
So who do the Mariners rape from our farm? Any guesses?
Honestly if it is Z-Mac or Bleich I will not be happy. Even though Bleich is struggling I really like him.
You make it sound like Sophie’s Choice.
I hope they don’t go that high for Washburn. That would just be a bad, bad move.
Are they stretching Hughes?
HEY GUYS IT’S JI
JIM THOME
IETCVM.
1 down in the ninth…i hope Phil gets us a chance in the 10th
Shift fail.
It wasn’t the shift.
If they’d shifted, they’d have gotten him.
if u r going to play cano in that position jeter has to be moved more up the middle than that.
and the shift gets beat.
a double play would be excellent right now
Breaking News: Halladay isn’t going to the Yanks
10:33pm: Heyman says the Yankees and Mariners are now “talking Washburn.” The Yankees won’t part with Phil Hughes, Joba Chamberlain, Austin Jackson, Austin Romine or Jesus Montero, but with those exceptions, Heyman says the M’s have their pick of Yankees prospects.
does anyone read a comment before they post since that has been done 3 times already?
dude chill out, i didnt know. i pressed “ctrl+F” and couldnt find halladay listed so i thought it was safe to post it.
You can put it on the boaaaaaaaaaaaaaaard!!!
YYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYES!!!
Dude that was like so 4 minutes ago.
Shutup I was DotF’ing.
I love how dejected Hawk Harrelson sounds when he’s calling a home run for the opposing team. He really is the biggest homer ever.
hahaha
ugh, cmon hughes
damn it hughes
we need some damn outs
Great.
Bad management of the BP there. Coke should have faced Thome.
ha then you’d have people bitching and micro-managing. lose lose no matter what he does
ah..no cuz phil is on his third inning of work, so a change would have made sense…
And Konerko?
SHIT Lock it up Hughes
C’mon Cokie, you got this.
It’s Mo time, not Coke time.
LEARN TO MANAGE BP’S, BASEBALL ESTABLISHMENT!
then people will bring up Mo’s ineffective numbers in non-save situation
but mo needs to pitch when the yanks take the lead.
save mo
you dont need to use him here
yes you do, this could be the game right here, that same mode of thought is what cost the ws in 03 when torre brought in weaver instead of mo
learn that you’re not a manager.
Not going to say a word. Since we’re all losers right now.
I will, you are still not a manager.
Wow, you’re awesome.
Why don’t you think about what I said, and not tell me I’m not a manager? I mean, I know that I’m not manager. But do you know that you should never lose a game like that while your best reliever sits in the bullpen?
Think.
iight DP here Coke. Yanks need it now.
where is Mo??????
Shit
This would be a great time to have the Melkman over in left field…
I would be ok with Pierzynski getting hit by a car.
Arguably biggest shithead in baseball.
And who still bleaches their hair. This isn’t 1995.
Baseball players have obnoxious fashion choices: film at 11.
That’s not my, or anyone’s, beef with Pierzynski.
1 more out…
Wow. Pierzynski took off his hat and I was like “DOUCHE CHILL.”
cmon cokie
one more
Maybe it’s just me, but it seems like Coke is perpetually behind in the count.
I do not fear DeWayne Wise hear
*here
you should
Apparently I should have.
I willing to take the blame for this one.
Way to man up, Jackson.
Wow…… so close.
fuck
Ah shit.
damn it
UGH!
fuck.
that was painful
Fuck man.
GAH FUCCCC
Horseshit. How does Gavin Floyd shut this team down?
Garbage.
thank you Girardi
That messed up a perfectly good day.
SHIT
Amazing, only the Yankees could lose to a .185 hitter.
amazing, you disappear once swish tied the game, then reappeared.
a large number of these people only show up during a loss to whine about every little thing.
thats why theres 200 comments when Yankees are playing all game. and 700 when yankees are losing
exactly.
If Phil Coke cant get out Dwyane fuckin Wise, get off the freakin team.
Our other lefty option will be Damaso Marte. Pick your poison.
Trade for Randy Choate!!! LOL
Just wasn’t our game.
Fuck. And Coke might have broke his hand there.
DEATH TO YOU DEWAYNE WISE I WILL SEE YOU IN HELL
Well shit
Games like this make me want to punch kitties.
Goddammit.
Coke is average. He’s behind every hitter which leads to walks and big hits.
Yeah, most relievers are average.
It’s going to happen. Mo should have been in the game, but it’s all over now.
Like the game in Cleveland earlier this year, when he brought D-Rob in.
average? WHIP of 1.01 and batters are hitting below .200 against him
Very painful
So now there are 3 trustworthy arms in high leverage situations: Mo, Hughes and Ace. I pace quickly back and forth in my living room when they use any other BP arm in a big spot.
One game and Coke is out? What about his 1st and 2nd against the A’s? What about the last 3 months? Hitters are .197/.265/.388 against him.
thats the definition of overreaction
This is the time we should use Mo for 4 outs….. and we don’t.
Way to go Phil Coke, ruining the better Phil’s scoreless streak.
I know the rules say Hughes should get the Loss, as he did. But Coke deserves it big time.
Sorry, Phil allowed the 2 runners. Anyway this loss goes on the defense and Girardi.
Girardi? Hindsight is 20/20…
Not hindsight. I have always disagreed with the practice of saving your closer.
How long would he go for? It would be a tie game on the road with extra innings.
I hate Scott Podsednik.
What manager has ever brought his closer into a tie game on the road? It doesnt happen. Get over it.
That doesn’t mean that it is the correct decision. If Coke can come into a game with the winning run in scoring position then why shouldn’t he be able to come into the game and get the last 3 outs?
He knows it doesn’t happen. He said he doesn’t understand why it doesn’t happen. Learn to read.
OH MY GOD LANNY.
Why cant you understand how stupid it is when you say that? BECAUSE managers dont bring the closer into a tie game on the road is EXACTLY WHY we harp on it.
No, Lanny only complains when gms do everything other gms do. Things that are okay – like having bench players on your bench.
Which is odd, considering that he is defending Girardi for going by the book. Go figure.
[Sterling]You just can’t predict Lanny![/Sterling]
thats your belief. and some people look at Mariano’s numbers is non-save situation and think he shouldnt be in there in non save situations.
so just BECAUSE you press SHIFT ever now and then doesnt MAKE your OPINION better.
Well, that was a dissapointment.
Ah, what a heartbreaker..
This game is why Cashman will get another starter and especially another reliever. Probably a lefty.
what does another starter have to do with this game?
Terrible umpiring + 3 errors in 1 inning usually = loss
To those who wanted Hughes in the rotation in place of Mitre. Just imagine this bullpen without Hughes. It would be like the beginning of the season all over again. Thank God Phil is staying where he is.
Tough loss but we’ll come back out tomorrow and crush this team. Yanks gave the game away tonight. Won’t happen again.
Hughes let the 2 men on…
This one instance is not a good reason to bitch about the pen.
Shit like this happens all the times, even to the best of bullpens. That’s baseball.
pop not worth it. the people who whine whenever there is a loss will whine for at least another 100 comments about EVERYTHING.
Nobody was complaining when Tex did that slide against the Rangers, it’s part of the game..
Well, I’m not complaining but Teix’s slide was clean and aggressive. AJ’s was hardly even a slide, he lunged into robbie once he got by the bag.
No, what Tex did was slide in hard a little off the bag. This dude basically waited until he was 2 feet away from Cano then went down. Almost like he wanted to taken down the catcher.
Yeah he might of broken his glove hand when the ball hit off of it. Hopefully it’s just bruised, and at least it’s not his left hand.
+1. Totally agreed with pulling Hughes there.
If he’s going to be a potential starter, he needs to work himself out of those spots.
um 2 innings already pitched, 35 pitches, 2 guys on base in the bottom of the 9th with 1 out is not the time for him to work things out
35 pitches and 24 of them for strikes. Phil Coke wishes he could strike someone out.
actually, he can. 34 times actually.
since coming up last year, about 9 k/9. that’s so horrible. kick him off the team.
Eh, he was clearly tiring, and let’s be honest, hitters are .197/.265/.388 against Coke.
I just want to see Hughes get out of jams. I want to see him start acting like a starter and not being pulled out of jams.
Mitre tomorrow! Anyone else excited?!
I am! I really am.
LOUD NOISES!!!
Seriously, coke should be on this team, .185 hitters still get hits once in a while, etc.
The teams been amazing. it was a tough loss, but we’re still tied for the best record in baseball, still in 1st in the East. Come back tomorrow and get even, then take the series with 2 more.
+33
I will be attending Danks vs Sabathia and Buerhle vs Burnett on Saturday/Sunday. Should be some exciting duels.
Hip hip Jorge for good defense!
Oops, Danks vs Burnett and CC vs Buerhle.
That’s awesome man. Hopefully our boys dominate, and if they don’t…
We’ll cut your balls off.
Hopefully, they got a bunch of tikes holding down the infield fort. I don’t want to let an easy series like this get away from us.
Who woulda thunk a .185 hitter coming through and a walkman with 3 strikeouts hitting a 2 out homer to tie the ballgame? What a game, what a game.
this just shows you how bad coke has been in pressure situations. remember his save attempt? or even in baltimore when he got lucky with the 2 runners thrown out at home he hit the first guy then threw a wild pitch. I mean how do you fall 2-0 behind a guy batting 185? really looking foward to tommorow hopefully we get another lefty in th ebullpen
Coke in high leverage situations:
.185/.246/.389
Coke overall:
.
197/.265/.388
Seems a bit better in high leverage spots.
stop using logic and stats…ur supposed to overreact.
I have to agree. I’m not much of a stats guy but it seems like Coke has been pretty good. He just got very unlucky here or fucked up. Whatever.
ALso, Aceves in high leverage spots:
.156/.216/.156
Overall:
.220/.271/.387
There goes that one.
As opposed to ?
As opposed to .375/.591/.966 with runners in scoring for Phil Coke.
way to pick the worst number you could find and call it fact. those are with 2 out.
.231 avg .277 obp .462 slg.738 ops
those are runners in scoring position.
Well, it blows but i’m not too upset over this loss. Yanks been playing great ball.
0% chance
obviously u didnt read since it says they DIDNT ask for either one.
I just simply stated “0% Chance”, because this trade the Yankees were never really interested in. Therefore, not really worth mentioning.
No need to freak out.
We are just fortunate Swisher gave us the opportunity to take it to extras after bad defense/dodging rolling bodies.
im abit worried about the defence this is the 2nd time this week theyve made multiple errors in a game and this one clearly cost them. there outfield is awful everytime a ball is hit to johnny damon i hold my breath.
I’m a bit worried about your grammar.
The good thing is, Hughes can finally get a haircut!
