• Johan Iz My Brohan

    Yes, and I hope so.

    • Charlie

      same

      • Charlie

but i also wouldn’t expect it

  • Dela G

how many pitches is mitre at?

let him come out to pitch the 6th, then take him out for a nice ovation from the crowd

    • whozat

I want more runs, so Melancon can get some work.

      • ledavidisrael

        WE THE WE THEE BESTTT

    • Salty Buggah

72, he can go maybe 2 more.

      • Mike Pop

2? Maybe if he looks absolutely fantastic in the 6th. But, I’ll be good with one more. As we all would be.

I mean, man we just lost a game. We can’t lose another one!!

        • V

          LOL

          • Mike Pop

If they lose 2 in a row, we’d hear clamoring for Halladay to stop the L streak.

    • Bob Stone

      72 pitches – 46 for strikes

    • Charlie

he has been alright, but not that great. he’s at 72 pitches, but why the hell do you want him to get an ovation?

      • Mike Pop

Cause everyone loves a nice ovation.

        • http://www.facebook.com/dougchu Doug

Ovations for some, tiny American flags for others!

      • Steve O.

EVERY GIRL DESERVES TO GO TO A BALL!!!

        /Yes Man’d

      • Dela G

because the crowd knows he’s a young kid and left with the lead?

        • Charlie

he’s 28, so not really a young kid

    • Dela G

well if he’s at 72, he can go another inning for sure

  • Salty Buggah

    OK offense, need some insurance!

  • Andy In Sunny Daytona

You know, I really love when they guys just talk about baseball, and not worry so much about the game. We can see the game, but hearing their banter is awesome.

    • Mike Pop

      Especially with Paully.

      • Andy In Sunny Daytona

        “Look at me” hahaha

  • Drew

Why does Phil need to go three? Mitre for the sixth with Coke ready to come in. Then Phil for one Bruney for one Mo for one. If you don’t want Bruney for 1 then go Phil for 2.

    • whozat

So that he can continue to get stretched out to move to the rotation :-)

  • Scooter

The leap from 3 innings to 5 innings isn’t so much

If the Yankees think Bruney is back to being the good Bruney, and Marte is going to be OK, then it might make sense to stretch Phil out

Yankees are checking out Ian Snell – but sounds like Huntington is going to try to get a lot:
    http://www.mlbtraderumors.com/2009/07/yankees-scouting-ian-snell.html

    • http://www.facebook.com/dougchu Doug

I’d like to get Snell. He asks to be sent down because of stress, and then gets something like 18 K’s in his first game at AAA. He probably hates Pittsburgh and would do well elsewhere.

      • Mike Pop

Sure, like to put him in the pen.

I don’t think he would be a savior though.

    • Mike bk

i would give up a couple low prospects or a couple AAA low ceiling guys.

  • V

Someone needs to dump a beer on that asshole’s head. Do we REALLY need a ‘hip hip Jorge’ chant 50 times EVERY SINGLE TIME he’s at bat?

  • zs190

Probably not 3, I’m not sure they want to stretch Phil out this season.

  • Bob Stone

Ricky is up next – They’re showing his video introduction now. Can’t wait for his speech.

    • Mike Pop

Please oh please let be 3rd person.

  • Salty Buggah

Will Swisher ever start hitting at home? I mean cmon take advantage of TEH BANDBOX if you play there

    • GG

Tex refuses to, all his HR’s are like 450

  • http://www.puristbleedspinstripes.com Rebecca-Optimist Prime

    mmm, Rickey

  • Andy In Sunny Daytona

    Is that Rickey’s wife?

  • Drew

    Here’s Ricky’s HOF speech:

He’s going to pick up the mic, Say, “I’M THE GREATEST!” hold both of his arms up in the air as if to signal a touchdown, drop the mic, put his arms down and walk off the stage.

    • Mike Pop

Walk off with the Vince McMahon strut.

      • DreDog

“Sexual Chocolate! Ladies and gentleman, Sexual Chocolate!”

        Then he exits stage left.

        • Andy In Sunny Daytona

You know him better as “Joe the Policeman” from the “What’s Goin Down” episode of “That’s My Momma”.

        • Mike Pop

          Haha!

          Would be awesome man.

    • http://www.facebook.com/dougchu Doug

Whoa, Rickey’s daughter’s… how YOU doin?

    • Ivan

I can really see him do that.

  • Bob Stone

Ricky is starting his speech now on MLB TV for those interested.

  • Teix is the man

Hughes needs to get stretched out….please?! Make it for me Cash

    • Mike bk

its not going to happen. he is staying there the rest of the year.

      • Teix is the man

Fun to dream man..fun to dream.

  • Accent Shallow

Why not let Mitre try for another DP?

  • Drew

I don’t like this move but whatever..

  • Ivan

Ok Girardi you could just started with a RP in the 6th inning in the first place preferbly Hughes.

  • cjc

it would seem that Smoltz forgot to take his grit pills this morning

    • Scooter

Obviously Ellsbury and Pedroia ate all the grits this morning

  • Jared

WTF is girardi doing? were heading out on a long homestand and hes gunna burn out our bullpen? let the damn guy pitch!

  • Dela G

    good job mitre

now lets close the damn door on the A’s and get on the plane for tampa

  • Drew

Ha Smoltzie has given up 6 thru 4.2

  • Salty Buggah

Hmmm too early to pull him?

  • Mike Pop

    Speech is so awesome.

    • http://www.facebook.com/dougchu Doug

Rickey needed money to play at an early age.

      • Mike Pop

        So I says to her.

    • Andy In Sunny Daytona

I love the lack of plurals.

      • http://www.facebook.com/dougchu Doug

No contractions, either. He’s like Grover.

    • Bob Stone

It’s at least that – very funny and touching.

      • Mike Pop

He should talk about how he took that foul ball away from that little kid that one time while being a spectator at the game.

  • DreDog

Anyone else think Mitre was a better signing than Smoltz (at least right now)? Does anyone else think Cash is going to get any love from ESPN for this signing? I mean Theo is a crafty fox with that Smoltz signing.

    • Mike Pop

Well. Smoltz is owed so much more money.

That’s the main problem with that signing. Especially in this market he got what, 5 mill gauranteed?

      • http://www.riveraveblues.com Mike Axisa

$35,000 every day he’s on the 25-man roster.

        • Mike Pop

Ooo. I always remembered that 5.5

    • Accent Shallow

I think it’s too soon to make a full judgment, but by early returns, it’s not close.

  • Charles

Where does one get a suit like Ricky’s?

    • Andy In Sunny Daytona

      The Fly Store

  • Accent Shallow

Coke, you can’t walk Daric Barton. He is terrible

  • Mike bk

great story about reggie and ricky

    • Bob Stone

      I second that.

  • Salty Buggah

    one more wild pitch!

    • Accent Shallow

I’m really worried that Jorge’s defensive ineptitude will come back to bite us later.

      • Salty Buggah

        yea me too

  • Dela G

    oh sheet

  • cjc

great just fucking great mark fucking ellis awesome

  • Mike Pop

    Woot!

    Nice decision Joe.

  • Salty Buggah

    OH FUCKERS!

  • charlespoet

    Well that sucks

  • Johan Iz My Brohan

    Ugh

1 run isn’t so bad, but I knew eventually coke would give up another bomb…

    LETS COME BACK!

  • Rich D.

Why did Joe G. go to the ‘Pen so damn early? Mirte was not lights out but he was doing decent.

  • Ivan

Jim Rice doesn’t look right in that HOF ceremony.

  • cjc

and a hit to a fucking lefty hitting 083 impressive

  • Dela G

damn it, mitre should’ve stayed. That guy wouldn’t have given up 2 runs

  • pete

    ugh

  • http://www.facebook.com/dougchu Doug

Coke just had to turn this game into an adventure.

  • Salty Buggah

We better score….that run Jeter/Johnny couldn’t drive in from 3rd is big right now

  • Drew

74 pitches for mitre saw… ugh

  • whozat

    Terrrrrible.

  • Bob Stone

Glad I’m watching Ricky’s speech instead of the game right now.

  • http://www.puristbleedspinstripes.com Rebecca-Optimist Prime

    It’s a one run game.

    We’ve come back from worse.

    • Mike Pop

Indeed, but was too early. Mitre should of handled it.

      • Scooter

Just guessing – coming off TJ, Mitre tends to lose a little as the game wears on – it could be Girardi trying to make sure he wasn’t too late getting Mitre out of the game.

The pitch to Ellis wasn’t awful – way down. As the guys in the booth said, it was a pitch that you’d expect a lefty to like (down and in). I guess that’s Ellis’s happy zone

    • Joe R

Yeah but we shouldnt be down to the A’s is the problem.

  • cjc

don’t worry Cody Ransom is due up its all good

    • Rich D.

Pitch Hit A-Rod or not yet?

      • Mike Pop

        Too early I think.

    • cjc

      lol

  • Ivan

Figures that Henderson would say “Im the Greatest” lol.

    • Bob Stone

He DIDN”T say that!!! Great speech!!

    • Zach

      he was quoting Ali

  • Rich D.

    Mirte’s line: 5.0 IP (1 batter faced in 6th), 9 H, 4 Runs, 4 ER, 0 BB, 1 K, 74 PC (47 Strikes), 5.91 ERA
    No Decision possible.

Not a great line but good enough from a 5th starter or in this case, a fill in starter.

  • Andy

    Coke is overrated

    • Drew

      nope.

    • cjc

over used is more like it

  • Brazilian Yankee

Well, I guess it’s time for the offense to wake back up. I think they score 3 runs this inning.

  • Ivan

Im not making a big deal of Girardi taking Mitre out.

    • cjc

with 74 pitches it was a bit of an over reaction

      • Ivan

He was okay, far from great. If he give up those 2 runs, people of been saying, take out Mitre.

  • Rich D.

Mussina should go to the hall but not on the first ballot.

    • Mike Pop

Does it really make a difference?

I don’t know if he belongs. But if you think he should, why does it matter if it’s the first or 5th, or 12th.

    • Bob Stone

      I’d vote for him.

  • Salty Buggah

I guess this is what happens when you use the same guys too often, they get overworked and exposed.

  • Andy

Why did he pull mitre? Another genius move

  • BigBlueAL

First Albie now Bruney warming up, I didnt realize this game was a blowout.

  • http://leegrantphotography.files.wordpress.com/2009/04/madmax.jpg gxpanos

Uh, how about SOME credit? The pitch was at Ellis’ damn shoetops, and he turned on it. It wasnt a bad pitch.

    • Salty Buggah

      yea, I know huh?

  • http://www.puristbleedspinstripes.com Rebecca-Optimist Prime

Some of you guys overreact worse than Girardi…

    • Mike Pop

      Really, you’re saying this?

      Haha

  • Drew

Melky’s OBP is like 400 at the stadium this year.

  • Ivan

Well the yanks are only down 2 runs.

    • Teix is the man

      1 run buddy…5-4=1

      • Mike Pop

        Math fail

  • Salty Buggah

    no DP Cody

  • Rich D.

    Coke’s line: 1.0 IP, 2 hits, 1 Run, 1 ER, 0 BB, 0 K, 1 HR, 15 PC (9 strikes)
    Can lose, Not win.

Obviously, the HR is a big blow. Its funny how he was a inch away from getting out of it!

    • Accent Shallow

I’m a big fan of Coke, but he has been far too homer prone this year.

That was a pretty good pitch to Ellis, though, and just serves to illustrate how the game has changed — 50, or even 25 years ago, how often is a second baseman (who’s not a particularly special hitter) going to go yard on a pitch at his shoelaces?

  • Dela G

    CODY EFFING RANSOM!

  • Drew

I honestly thought he was going to hit a hr but a double will do.

  • Mike Pop

Ransom: How’s my ass taste, haters?`

  • http://www.facebook.com/dougchu Doug

LIGHTNING JUST STRUCK THE SAME SPOT TWICE

  • http://www.riveraveblues.com Mike Axisa

    Cody Ransom, double doubles, bitches.

    • Accent Shallow

Why couldn’t he have done more of this when Mr. Rod was rehabbing?

(Both for the tangible benefit, and so we’d have been treated to articles about how the Yankees should bench A-Rod on his return, and play the “young hotshot” in Ransom. Would have been hilarious.)

      • Zach

like the Pena at SS and Jeter in LF for 2010 talk?

  • Rich D.

CODY CODY CODY! Lets go! Top of the order, lets bring them in!

  • Joe R

Handome Cody Ransom. Lets get this run in guys.

    • Joe R

      Wooo el capiton

  • Johan Iz My Brohan

Cody Ransom coming up with the big doubles today, let’s go Jeter!

  • Dela G

    CAPTAIN CLUTCH!!!

  • Accent Shallow

Jeez, maybe they shouldn’t DFA Ransom.

This Jeter fellow is still pretty good at baseball.

  • Drew

    THAT IS HOW YOU DEBATE

  • http://www.facebook.com/dougchu Doug

    SITUATIONAL HITTING~! for the win

  • charlespoet

Got this Yankee team just sucks. They never seem to come back and win.

  • Johan Iz My Brohan

    There ya go! JETER!

  • Salty Buggah

OK jeter bring the run in this time please!

    • Salty Buggah

      thanks boy!

  • Rich D.

YES YES YES! CAPTAIN CLUTCH! 2 RUN RBI SINGLE AND THE YANKEES RE-TAKE THE LEAD 6-5!

  • Steve O.

    Cody Ransom >>>>>>>> The Haters

    • Salty Buggah

      for now…

      Hey maybe he’s getting hot?

      • Steve O.

He once had an awkward moment just to see how it feels.

        • Mike Pop

He once hit 2 home runs in one game. Got lucky.

  • Accent Shallow

How the fuck was that not a balk?

  • Mike Pop

    Jeter, you asshole.

  • http://www.riveraveblues.com Mike Axisa

    Tangible.

  • cjc

    arg

  • Dela G

    WOW WHAT A PICKOFF MOVE!

  • http://www.puristbleedspinstripes.com Rebecca-Optimist Prime

    …wow.

  • Rich D.

Hughes in the 7th or trust Albaladejo?

    • Joe R

I would have to imagine Ughes for 2.

  • Drew

    well that’s some shit.

  • Ivan

I assume it would be Hughes for 2.

    • Teix is the man

no, not at all… he will be needed for Tampa

    • Accent Shallow

I don’t think we need to see Hughes for 2 unless they’re planning on stretching him out.

  • Joe R

    Meh. Timely pickoff. :(

  • Dela G

    man i hate hindsight

  • Johan Iz My Brohan

ow that caught stealing hurt a little bit with damon’s double.

    • Joe R

That single makes it a little better tho

  • Salty Buggah

can we put A-rod on the on-deck circle just to trick them and get tex a big hit?

that pickoff is large right now

    • Salty Buggah

      that works Texy!

  • Mike Pop

    Brazill Yankee is the man.

  • Drew

    GAME, BLOUSES

  • Rich D.

YES YES YES!!! RBI SINGLE FOR TEX! YANKEES LEAD 7-5!

  • Dela G

    YOU’RE ON THE MARK TEIXIERA!

    7-5 yankees!

  • http://www.facebook.com/dougchu Doug

    Teixeira: MOAR RUNZ

  • Ivan

Who will win, The Tangible of Derek Jeter or the Grittiness of Dustin Pedroia.

    • Mike Pop

      I’ll take Jim Rice’s fearness.

      • Ivan

I’ll take Manny “care free attitude”

        • Salty Buggah

          I’ll also take A-rod’s stat-padding

        • Mike Pop

          Clemens’ work ethic?

    • Rich D.

The captain wins every time! Its simple, WS game 7, need a clutch hit, who do you want up there? I will take the PROVEN, Derek Jeter!

  • Brazilian Yankee

Well, I did call 3 runs this inning.

    • Salty Buggah

      hope you’re wrong…

      • Salty Buggah

damn you werent! I wanted more runs

  • Johan Iz My Brohan

    Tex!

  • Bob Stone

As it stands now, should the Yanks win 7-5, Coke gets the win – How ironic.

    • Accent Shallow

      Vulture.

      • Bob Stone

        LOL

  • Rich D.

Hughes is ready! He will be in for the 7th… Probably.

  • Teix is the man

Hughes’ hair is the cause of his turnaround haha.

    • Mike Pop

More like pitching 1 or 2 innings instead of 6 or 7 ;)

He’s gotta wear those shades out there, :gulp: Kei Igawa style. Except, he can pitch.

      • Teix is the man

        Hughes’ hair >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> Mauer’s burns

  • Bob Stone

    C’mon Yanks – Let’s see a blowout!

  • Drew

What was that kid Dallas something’s name that was released from the Marlins this winter? The third baseman.

    • V

      Dallas McPherson.

      • V

Out with back injury – had surgery on 07/19/09.

      • Drew

ah true. I wanted to sign him to fill in for Al. I guess he’s hurt or something, no stats this year.

    • Mike Pop

McPherson is with the Giants org, yes.

    • Joe B.

      Dallas McPherson.

    • Ivan

      Dallas McPhearson

      • Ivan

        McPherson.

    • Johan Iz My Brohan

      Dallas McPherson

    • Drew

      Gratzie.

  • Zach

    Segio Mitre 1.25m >>> Smoltz 5.5m, 125k bonus, and 35k daily bonus

    • Scooter

      BUT THEO IS TEH GENIOUS!!!

    • Bob Stone

Yeah – O’s leading the BoSox 6-1 in the 6th inning. Smoltz line – 5.0 ip, 9h, 6r, 6er, 1bb, 6so. Season era 7.04. Not looking like he’s worth the money – YET. Theo is so smart and clever.

  • http://www.facebook.com/dougchu Doug

Peace out, Braden. It was fun scoring runs off of u~

  • cjc

I would just like to take a mintue and congratulate the sox on their depth singing Smoltz and Penny just geious DEPTHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH

  • cjc

I would just like to take a mintue and congratulate the sox on their depth singing Smoltz and Penny just genious DEPTHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH

  • Mike Pop

Oh, Godzilla. You should of hammered that.

  • Dela G

swinging on 3-0 unless you are mark T is idiotic

    • Ivan

      Really?

If the bll is rite down the middle, y not swing at it.

      • Salty Buggah

but you gotta be sure you’re gonna hit it like Tex was.

  • Brazilian Yankee

    3-0 popout sucks.

  • Salty Buggah

Ahh damn Hideki not on a 3-0 count but im not complaining

  • Johan Iz My Brohan

    MONTERO HOMERED AGAIN!

    • Mike Pop

      JESUS MONTERO!

    • Salty Buggah

      2nd time today?

      • Johan Iz My Brohan

no just 1 today, sorry for the “again” =P

        • Mike Pop

          Jerk

      • Mikebk

        nope…just late.

      • Dela G

no he only has one HR

    • Zach

i bet JP is calling Cash

    • V

DON’T DO THAT TO US! LOL!

  • cjc

now can the fucking jys pen hold a 4 run lead with 1 inning to go

  • Zach

Toronto’s leading Tampa 5-1 in the 8th, they’re going to blow it somehow

  • Dela G

that second pitch was not a ball

    • Salty Buggah

yea the ump’s done that a lot today for some reason…maybe gameday is wrong but I doubt it

  • zs190

Honestly, I would expect Mitre to be hit around just like Braden if they kept him in there. Pitch count wasn’t high but both guys have struggled mightily.

  • Accent Shallow

    Hope Po is ok.

    • Salty Buggah

yea me too. He is one of the MVPs of the team.

  • Salty Buggah

was that really a slider? 91 mph

    • Joe R

Nothing is under 90 according to YES

    • Ivan

      Nah it’s a cutter.

    • Accent Shallow

No, that’s gotta be the cutter. Hughes no longer throws a slider.

(Not to mention, how would he throw a 91 mph slider when his fastball is only a few ticks faster than that?)

      • Salty Buggah

thought som it had the same break and speed as the cutter…thanks guys

  • Drew

Phil should change his name to bossman senior.

    • Salty Buggah

BJ HUGHES??!!!! That’s as funny as BJ Wang or BJ Cox!

    • Dela G

      i prefer birdman jr

  • cjc

if by fastball slider you mean fastball curve than yes Al I agree

  • Steve H

Nice to see Lugo with 2 more hits. Meanwhile Nick Green has returned to being, well Nick Green. And Inbred Jed Lowrie has a negative OPS+!

    • Mike Pop

      Heh, Inbred Jed Lowrie.

  • Accent Shallow

Gameday has the first fastball of the Hairston at-bat as 96.7 (!)

  • Zach

‘they let him pitch back to back even if he threw 2 innings’
    no, but nice try michael

  • Ivan

    Awwww…..Hairston had no chaance.

  • Accent Shallow

This is another demonstration of how fastball velocity doesn’t necessarily correlate with fastball effectiveness.

Hughes “only” throws 94 or so, but he gets a lot more swinging strikes on his fastball (even as a starter) than does someone like Farnsworth.

    • Steve H

Yes. If fastball velocity was all that mattered ESPN would be crowning Daniel Bard the greatest future closer in MLB history. Oh wait…….

  • Mike Pop

Kay gets such a hard on for starter/reliever and dominant Hughes or Joba in the pen talk.

  • Teix is the man

    Drop a deuce on him!

  • Accent Shallow

Just not Posada’s day, huh? Eek.

  • Rich D.

    God Bless America!

  • Tony

    Huuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuughes

Now get him out of the bullpen. Shut the hell up, Kay.

  • Ivan

    Catchers are like strippers.

Nobody grows up being one, but somebody has to do it.

    • Drew

      ietfc

    • Accent Shallow

      They have daddy issues?
You wouldn’t want to kiss one?
      Women disdain them?
      Men don’t respect them?
They’re only doing it to pay for medical school?

      • Salty Buggah

Heh IETC and Ivan’s comment very much

  • Bob Stone

Man, JOPo is geting clobbered today. Great inning Hughes!

  • Dela G

    Hughes = awesome

  • Drew

    So tired of Kate Smith.

  • Accent Shallow

Pitch to get Cust was 97.0. Remember when we were worried about how hard Hughes throws?

    • Mikebk

he is not going to throw 97 when he goes back to the rotation so you arent comparing even facts.

      • Steve H

Yes. But the Hughes only throws 91!!!!! crowd said he topped out at 91. There is no way they thought he would add 6 MPH to their made up figure once he’s in the pen.

        • Mikebk

and those same people are the ones who whined about joba’s velocity drop in the rotation and will whine again when hughes goes back to the rotation and tops at 93 probably.

          • Steve H

Yeah. At least we’re already prepared to listen to their nonsense.

  • Salty Buggah

    SIT DOWN!!!

Ladies and Gentlemen, homegrown PHIL HUGHES!!!1

    • Drew

we haven’t developed young starting pitching since AP.
      /media’d

  • Mikebk

has to be phil for the 8th right? kay said no ace, we saw coke already. not bruney is it?

    • Scooter

I’d bet the ranch Hughes does the 8th. I saw Mo stirring – so Mo will be ready (if needed) for the 4-out save

This discussion is dead-on right – Hughes is 95-97 on the black – the movement and location are great. Farnsworth at his best was 98-100, with little idea where it was going.

  • Tony

Next year we’ll have to hear about how something is wrong with Hughes because he isn’t throwing 97 anymore.

    • Mikebk

when he is throwing 93 in the 7th we wont care.

      • Steve H

We won’t care. But there will be a ton of idiots in the MSM who will try to make us care.

        • Mike Pop

          Phil the thrill Injured!

        • Mikebk

i should correct that. i wont care cause lots of people in here were whining about joba’s velocity as well.

  • Salty Buggah

I dont know why but I wanna see Hughes hit 98 one day, just once.

    • Mike Pop

With this YES gun, anything possible.

      Awesome pitch by Breslow there.

    • Ivan

Fuck it, 99 or 100 MPH.

    • Drew

I want to see Chapman hit 103 in a Yankee uniform.

      • Teix is the man

        +1

      • Teix is the man

        +1

  • Zach

Royals are switching Tony Pena Jr from SS to pitcher

    • Salty Buggah

      really?

      • Zach

yeah. 28 years old, basically just trying to stay in the game at this point

        • Drew

          shoulda been a catcher..

        • Salty Buggah

wow, oh well, hope it works out for him.

    • Accent Shallow

      He already hits like one.

  • Accent Shallow

Man, I thought some of the curves Hughes threw last inning didn’t bite. What was that, Breslow?

  • Rich D.

    Hughes Line: 1.0 IP, 0 Hits, 0 Runs, 0 ER, 0 BB, 2 K, 20 PC (12 Strikes), 3.45 ERA

TRULY UNTOUCHABLE OUT OF THE ‘PEN! No reason why he cant go in the 8th.

  • Dela G

    GREAT JOB SWISHAHOUSE!

  • Accent Shallow

Patterson took an interesting route to that ball.

I thought Cano got enough of it.

    • Zach

he only has like 3 games in CF in the bigs, and 24 in the minors

  • Drew

Damn, cano put a hurtin on that one.

  • Mikebk

see huntington starts talking about how he wont give snell away and ian tries to lower his own price to get him out of Pitt by giving up 9H and 1 BB in 5 IN at AAA. Did a good job to only give up 2 runs though.

    • http://www.facebook.com/dougchu Doug

This is after he got 17 or 18 K’s in his first game after asking to be send down. Manipulative Snell is manipulative.

      • Dela G

        he had a 17K game

      • Mike Pop

Snell is like an Oliver Perez.

      • Zach

7IP, 2H, 17K that first game. 0.56 era before today, hes basically just toying with them

      • Mikebk

that was a number of starts ago, but yes.

        overall 37.1 28H 13 BB 47K .96ERA.

  • Drew

I said it earlier but it bears repeating, melky’s obp is like 400 in YSIII.

  • http://www.facebook.com/dougchu Doug

The A’s are playing matchup with Cody Ransom. What the hell?

    • Drew

      THAT. JUST. HAPPENED.

    • Salty Buggah

      He’s feared

    • zs190

Eh, Ransom had been 3 for 4 with 2 walks this series in 2 games.

  • Steve O.

    Pinch-hit-Rod?

  • Salty Buggah

nice double but Swisher is so due for a HR, especially at home. Only 3 of his 14 have come there and his home OPS is 250 points less than his away OPS.

Look at Melky walking like its cool today, no DP Ransom…give us some insurance.

  • Drew

As KS would say, Ransom is off the interstate.

  • Salty Buggah

    sac fly…

    • Salty Buggah

      oh well

  • Mike Pop

Get some runs! I want to see Melancon.

  • Grandma Karkan

Nice swing Ransom, that was only over your head. ::Clap::

    • Salty Buggah

eh cant complain about what he’s done today

  • Salty Buggah

hmmm I dont mind it but I would have saved Hughes for Tampa

    • http://www.riveraveblues.com Mike Axisa

Nah, manage to win this game. No idea what’s going to happen tomorrow. They might win by 13.

    • Drew

word but fuck it. lets get the dubya

    • Steve O.

When you’ve got CC, AJ, and Joba for Tampa, they’re going to give you good length. They were just perfecto’d.

  • Ivan

    Smoked.

  • Mike Pop

    Phil Hughes is the bomb.

    • Grandma Karkan

      TNT! BOOM!

  • Accent Shallow

Why do Yankee pitchers keep walking Ryan Sweeney? He’s not particularly good.

  • Dela G

    cmon hughes

  • Ivan

    DP here.

  • Dela G

    man was that ball killed

  • http://www.puristbleedspinstripes.com Rebecca-Optimist Prime

    Might be Mo time?

  • Dela G

wait why the hell take hughes out?

  • BigBlueAL

    Bruney?????????????

  • Ivan

    Wow he goes to Bruney.

  • Bob Stone

Bruney is comin’ in – Fingers crossed – All of them, toes too.

  • Johan Iz My Brohan

well apparently Hughes does not have his best stuff today.

  • Mikebk

hughes just wasnt hitting the inside corner against the lefties…oh man bruney, this might get ugly or might be the beginning of bruney really getting his and girardi’s confidence in him back.
