I don’t think the Twins can let Mauer leave, especially with the opening of the new park. The fans would absolutely riot if they let him walk.

Not to mention he’s a hometown kid, and that seems to really count up there.

No, he’ll definitely stay. I don’t think the Twinkies have much money tied up in anyone but Morneau for now and maybe some arbitration raises, but I think they’ll pony up the dough for Mauer.
