Yeah bad move by the Yanks PR dept.

But do they even need to move the park to see it? Could they not replace the CF wall with a see-through fence type wall? I'm sure they could work it out in a way where it would look really cool.

By any chance were you there when the ball was hit off it? I've wanted to hear what went on in there as it was coming towards them.

What an absolutely galling way to treat fans. It's distressing how little Lonn Trost considers us. This is just an extension of the contemptible attitude towards fans by the way in which he thinks they have no business troubling players during batting practice just asking for autographs. Remember, this is what he had to say about fan access to the players: “If you purchased a suite, do you want people in your suite? If you purchased a house, do you want people in your house?”

Nice. And sadly symptomatic of the way cold, corporate treatment the Yanks have developed toward their fan base. I sincerely hope the chance their attitude, and therein the Stadium, or that base of support might slowly erode...

The obstructed seats are 5 bucks and you have access to the patio above the bar, as well as the rest of the stadium. Back in the day you couldn't get anywhere from the bleachers. It's not as terrible as it is made out to be.

I'm sure it is--but that's the point, no? It's pretty clear who and what the Yankees care about.

I would make it a little nicer if perhaps they made a see through outfield wall so they would be a little more visible during the game

Burying monument park, one of the signature features of the old stadium (well, the remodeled stadium anyway, since the original stadium featured the monuments even more prominently in the field of play), under a hideous restaurant that also happens to obscure large sections of the field from over 1000 fans, is symbolic of what the Yankees really thinks about the franchise's history and its fans.
