    damnit Tex killed a rally

ok, CC you blew a 3 run lead and now we got you a lead again…shut em down!

    • JobaWockeeZ says:

Too bad CC never wins games with teams above .500 and if he does its a fluke obviously.
Just like how the Yankees can’t beat good teams.

  2. trueblue says:

Anotehr big inning erased by a DP. FAAAAK

  3. From PeteAbe:

You come to a game expecting to see two lefty aces duel and you get 5-4 in the fourth inning and 17 hits. 17!

Meanwhile, there is quite the pitcher’s duel in Tampa

  4. Mike Pop says:

A buddy of mine just told me that Zach Grienke is not that good, and he only pitches well in bad weather…

    Really?

  7. Russell NY says:

Baltimore giving Boston the win. 11 runs for Boston so far.

    • Whitey14 says:

Baltimore sucks, yes, but Boston’s knocking the ball all over the place. Even their outs have been line drives hit directly at the fielders.

  8. Salty Buggah says:

CC’s not finishing them off after getting ahead (2 K’s only)

  9. Rick says:

    Cc sucks. He’s no ace

  10. Russell NY says:

I’m looking forward to you leaving when to take the lead and you coming back if they lose it.

dude, just because you were unloved as a child is no reason to be belligerent and angry at me. If you do not know any cliches that is fine. It was merely a comment not a pulitzer prize dissertation.

    • JobaWockeeZ says:

      Woot!
So apparently I am not allowed to make my own comments but you are able to freely say in a number of ways on how the Yankees suck?
      K.

      • Mike Pop says:

and call you unloved as a child. haha.

        • JobaWockeeZ says:

Insult the team we all follow = Supported
Insult the fans who give reason why the Yankees play bad = Supported
Get insulted by the fans who get mad at those fans = Not okay.

      • charlespoet says:

Precisely. Was part of a new bill in Congress put forth by the GOP.

But to make you feel better, since the Yankees are up, I will just read your billiant posts and only comment that the Yankees suck when they lose the lead. Oh and just to be sure I am completely on the same page, what Yankees team have you been watching this series? The one I have been watching is the same one that Mike Axisa has mentioned in all his pre and post game posts. But I understand that anyone else can utter the same frustration and it is understood that they are speaking with insight, knowledge, while the more emotional reactions are just “idiots”, “ledge jumpers”, “don’t understand baseball”, etc.

Oh it must be nice to live on such high ground.

        • JobaWockeeZ says:

So to make sure I am getting you right, the Yankees suck for losing 3 games but their previous winning streak and previous series win of the Tampa Bay Rays mean nothing?

          So in short they suck?
That’s all you need to say.

          • charlespoet says:

So in your world does 2+2 = 500?

I see the error of my way. Even in a 3 game losing streak where they have committed numerous errors, thrown to the wrong base, haven’t hit with RISP, haven’t pitched very well, the use of the work “suck” is really the issue.

I am soooooooooo sorry. I did not know. It is this new “learn how to speak proper blog English dictionary” that us idiots and illegal immigrants get that is not up to date. Clearly, a 3 game sample like this does not warrant calling out their deficiencies but rather focusing on past performance, because this is merely an aberration and needs no commenting. My humble apologies, oh great Jedi of RAB.

            • handtius says:

              I like Jedi.

            • JobaWockeeZ says:

I AM A JEDI FEAR MY POWER!
              *force persuade*
Me: You think the Yankees suck
You: I think the Yankees suck

Since you can’t comprehend what I’m talking about I’ll make things simple so a 1st grader can understand.

Shit happens in baseball. It happens to everyone even the all mighty Red Sox. Bitching and complaining over a set of 3 games will help no one and aggravates people. If you think these 3 games will dictate on how the Yankees play baseball t

And complaining and bitching about the people who try to explain why the Yankees are playing bad claiming their ideas as “cliches” is asking for it.

And since you like putting words in my mouth I will clarify. I don’t mind a negative attitude about the Yankees should it not involve you acting like you know everything. And since you think everyone will provide “cliches” to their explanations that pisses me off.

So I don’t know where the hell ” proper English dictionary” shit came from. Or “illegal immigrants.”
              Seriously what are YOU reading?

  19. Over/under on Red Sox runs is at 18.

Over/under on Royals base hits is 1.

    • Whitey14 says:

I’ll take the over on both. Sox hitting well today and one hiters are tough to come by.

  20. Little Bill says:

Good inning by CC. He’ll probably shut em down now.

  21. Salty Buggah says:

    no DP Robbie

  22. Dela G says:

    alex is on fire

  23. TheLastClown says:

I like Nick Swisher because he gets on base 36.6ish% of the time.

  24. Drew says:

Ugh, V-Mart just popped up a pitch and it blooped between Roberts and Jones..

    • Zack says:

broken bat hit. dave roberts called it a “big hit” from Vmart

      • Whitey14 says:

It was a big hit since it plated another run. He didn’t say it was a solid hit, which is where he would have been wrong. It actually breaks a long streak of Dave Roberts saying things that are wrong as he’s very terrible in the booth. Sox fans are willing to put up with a lot from him though, for very obvious reasons. Also, Eck is TBS today so he wasn’t an option.

    • Mike Ox says:

They are sure clicking right now. The batters anyway.

  25. John Duci says:

Brian Bannister is what the Yanks need. He’s throwing a good one against the Rays right now.

  26. White Sox announcers are AWFUL! It’s like listening to two drunk fans talk about the game at a bar.

  27. handtius says:

Cano smokes it right into a glove. fuck shite.

  28. Mike Axisa says:

Melky came to play. Oh yeah.

  29. Mike Pop says:

    Melky – the boss.

  30. SouthernYankeeFan says:

    Melky coming up huge today.

  31. Drew says:

    Melky is money

  32. “Melky a triple away from history!”

  33. Salty Buggah says:

    Good melky showed up today

  34. handtius says:

    melky is the man.

  35. Ignorant says:

How good is this Josh Reddick kid the Sawx have?

  36. Dela G says:

    LECHE!

  37. Rob H. says:

now Melky just needs that triple.

  38. Riddering says:

Aw, don’t take Buehrle out yet! We were doing so well against him.

  39. Dela G says:

man has this been a good game for the offense or what?

  40. Mike Pop says:

Melky is the most hated/loved Yankee not named A-Rod.

  41. Mike Pop says:

    Hairston impressive.

  42. J Squared says:

    POUR IT ON!!!

  43. Tony says:

Hairston is much better than Ransom.

  44. Mike Axisa says:

Jerry Hairston likes being on a first pace club.

  45. Riddering says:

    Again, Hairston > Ransom.

  46. Salty Buggah says:

    JERRY! JERRY! JERRY! JERRY! JERRY!

  47. BigBlueAL says:

Its nice to have a real utility man now.

  48. Dela G says:

my god jerry hairston jr is another genius pickup

hinske and hairston do nothing but produce

  49. J Squared says:

2 times.. the white sox have gotten lucky on Derek Jeter… can’t get enough of it.

  50. Jake K. says:

If Hairston’s performance today can end the Ransom experiment it will be a good day.

  51. Riddering says:

    Damn, that was so close.

  52. Dela G says:

man jetes is getting hammered by the baseball gods today

  53. Zack says:

Toronto placed Scott Downs on the DL, do they have to wait til he gets off it before they place him on waivers?

  54. SouthernYankeeFan says:

ok CC dont cough up the lead again.

  55. Mike Axisa says:

Even when Hairston boots a ball, he still throws the runner out by half a stride.

    Trade A-Rod.

  56. SouthernYankeeFan says:

there you go CC keep it up.

  57. Jordan says:

    Jerry Hairston Jr. = disappointment

  58. Dela G says:

    CC is dealing

not getting strike outs, but these people arent hitting him

  59. Okay, can someone explain what the hell this:

    http://upload.wikimedia.org/wi.....uthpaw.jpg

has to do with white socks, or Chicago, or baseball, or life?

  60. John Duci says:

I hope CC just goes off from here on. I want to see like a 2.00 ERA over the remainder of the season.

  61. dkidd says:

mantle: he said play it louder

    awesome

  62. TheLastClown says:

I’d like to see Melky get a harmonica endorsement deal.

  63. GG says:

Bannister has shutdown the Rays through 7, woulda been a nice pickup, certainly worth his pricetag

  64. gio says:

I’d love to see Melky continue his hot streak to keep Gardner on the bench when he comes back. I know you never jeopardize the starting 9 to improve the bench, but he’s so valuable as a pinch runner that if Melky stays hot, you have to keep Gardner as the 4th OF. A bench of Hinske, Hairston, Gardner, and Molina is the best we’ve had in almost a decade.

  65. Dela G says:

    good eye alex

  66. Ivan says:

Williams is really flirting with danger here.

  67. Mike Pop says:

Man, Buch can’t even do enough to get the W today.

  68. Riddering says:

Man, Cano always gets these spots.

  69. Zack says:

Buchholz couldnt make it through 5 with a 14-7 lead. gave up HR, walk, single.

    Final Line: 4IP, 9H, 7ER, 4BB, 3K, 2 HR

  70. Dela G says:

    DAMAGE TIME

  71. charlespoet says:

Tiger Woods is just ridiculous. Oh to be that good.

  72. cjc says:

    risp cano = EPIC FAIL

  73. SouthernYankeeFan says:

Cano is having a rough year with RISP

  74. Brazilian Yankee says:

Just 7 runners left on base for Cano. Great, great hitter in the clutch.

  75. John Duci says:

I dont understand the broken clock is right twice a day. Can someone explain please lol

  76. cjc says:

bases loaded 1 out and they don’t fucking score

  77. GG says:

    Paul Byrd anyone??

  78. Ivan says:

    Terrible.

  79. E-ROC says:

    That’s deflating.

  80. gio says:

Way to put the game away, boys. Pause. NOT!

    \Borat’d

  81. Dela G says:

alright, lets keep it going with the pitching CC

  82. cjc says:

.202 with risp for robbie thats not bad luck its just bad baseball

  83. Pasqua says:

Our New York Yankees: “Refuse to Cruise!”

  84. Riddering says:

    Well, that sucked.

  85. TheLastClown says:

Robbie’s never been good with the bases loaded.

    .250/.262/.354/.616

    Anxiety?

  86. Frank says:

Yanks allow Chisox to stay in the game. Gotta take advantage of 3 walks with 1 out.

  87. Steve H says:

Schilling on the radio Thursday was asked if Bustholz would be a 12-15 game winner or if he thought he’d put it together and become a 20 game winner. Schilling said neither, he’s not even sure he’ll become a 12-15 game winner. I know it’s still a SSS, but the guy is almost 25 and clearly has some issues. I hate Schilling, but man I hope he’s right.

  88. Riddering says:

    CC = bust

  89. Mike Pop says:

    Love those types of innings.

  90. Mike Axisa says:

    No harm, no foul.

  91. dkidd says:

    cc smells a w

  92. Salty Buggah says:

Nice, just what CC needed here

  93. Pasqua says:

    Courtesy of Pete:

Robbie Cano without runners in scoring position: 101 of 288 (.351)

Robbie Cano with runners in scoring position: 26 of 128 (.203).

    That differential is truly unbelievable.

    • Steve H says:

      Should have him bat leadoff.

      • Pasqua says:

No thanks. He doesn’t get on base enough (i.e., not enough walks). His OBP was .342 going into today, vs. Jeter’s .397. This is just the cross Robbie has to bear for now.

      • JMK says:

        Not a very good runner.

    • Little Bill says:

Abraham’s trash. Cano lines out twice with men in scoring position and he gets bashed. Jeter lines out and Pete makes sure to point out that he’s got unlucky. One minute Pete says CC stands for Complete Catastrophe and that he’s been bad, the next he says CC has gotten the job done all day. Guy’s an idiot.

  94. Ivan says:

You know what sad folks, Jim Rice in the HOF despite his #’s is not better than Bernie Williams.

    Rice: .298/.381/.502 with an OPS+ 0f 128 and overall OPS .852
Williams: .297/.381/.477 With an OPS+ of 125 and overall OPS of .858

    Amazing.

  95. Dela G says:

    cc is murdering them now

this is the cc we know and love and paid 161 million to

  96. Jordan says:

I’m smelling a Hairston grand slam right here. That or he’ll smack it to center and miraculously make the catch himself.

  97. John Duci says:

Clay Bucholz is 6-11 with a 5.29 ERA and 1.61 WHIP in his career. Clay Bucholz = BUST

    • charlespoet says:

only if he was a Yankee.

    • John Duci says:

And thats not counting his terrible performance today against Baltimore

    • Mike Pop says:

      To the 7th inning!

      Buch/Bard/Pap

      Championship quality pen there.

      • Pasqua says:

Nah…those numbers aren’t impressive enough for him to pitch the 7th, which we all know is where you have to put your most promising pitchers. It is the most important inning, after all.

    • Jordan says:

That’s just Buchholz establishing his underdog qualities. Next stage is grit. Then championship calibre. Then 12 Cy Young awards.

  98. Salty Buggah says:

    Hairston didnt go 3-3..BUST.

    DFA him and Cashman now!

  99. Andy In Sunny Daytona says:

OK, I just finished transfering all my music on my new Ipod, and I still have 106GB’s left. What the hell?

  100. So Girardi says that Phil Hughes is “too important to the bullpen” to be moved out of it.

Even though Joba Chamberlain is going to be moved into it.

Hughes locking down the 8th = Chamberlain locking down the 8th

Both Hughes and Joba in the bullpen together is a poor allocation of resources.

    • Ivan says:

      Yeah exactly.

It just another reason y Hughes SHOULD be starting.

    • Riddering says:

This is one time I’d like the organization to lie so long as they are stating Hughes is to be kept in the pen.

    • Tom Zig says:

yeah our bullpen would be really awesome, but our rotation would be pretty beat sauce. Hughes (preferably) or Aceves have to go to the rotation.

    • Drew says:

Well, Joe’s just humoring the redundant media and their questions. There’s so many “unforeseen” things that can happen that would open Hughes’s spot in the rotation, not including Joba. Marte, Bruney, Ace, if these guys show they can be solid in those late innings, Hughes isn’t necessarily as important there as he is now.

  101. “Headed into the 7th inning stretch it’s still 7-4 bad guys.”

    Hawk Harrelson

  102. SouthernYankeeFan says:

guy in the mantle jersey has a smoke show with him she was a treat.

  103. Dela G says:

wow i am so glad to not see getz any more

  104. dkidd says:

why would derek cut that off?

  105. A-Rod is Still My Ninja says:

    I hate that speedy bastard

  106. Dela G says:

    HUUUUUGE K there by CC

  107. Dela G says:

wow that was awesome defense by sabathia there

  108. Drew says:

    haha, CC angry. :)

  109. Ivan says:

    Great job CC.

  110. Dela G says:

    CC is fucking awesome

  111. Hmm, tough choice there for the Player of the Game… I’m gonna go with that guy who plays for the other team even though we’re winning 7-4.

  112. Evan says:

What a way to get out of that!

  113. cjc says:

nice that the real podsednik showed up today

  114. Riddering says:

That was the sexiest work-out-of-jam inning I have seen in quite some time.

    CC TO THE 8TH?!
