• John Duci

CC looks like an Ace tonight.

  • DreDog

You see Kate Hudson and family there?
    It’s good to be A-Rod.

  • whozat

Come on, ARod. At least consume more pitches in that AB.

    • Salty Buggah

he clutched out from last night

  • Accent Shallow

    We have Sox trolls?!

    /is serious

  • souterfell

It’s not Captain Ron, it’s Snake Plisken.

    • souterfell

  • Dela G

    Damn kate hudson is fine

    • Mike Pop

      Hells yes.

    • Salty Buggah

      she’s OK imo

      • http://www.facebook.com/dougchu Doug

A huge step up from Madonna, regardless.

        • DreDog

One small leap for A-Rod, one giant leap for Yankee fans.

      • Dela G

salty, i didn’t know you were dating jessica alba ;)

        • Salty Buggah

          heh, just saying

          • Dela G

i know, i’m just playin with ya my friend

            • Salty Buggah

              I know

  • Accent Shallow

That wasn’t a Buchholz implosion, but any lead is welcome after what happened last night.

  • SouthernYankeeFan

This is the CC i like to see.

    • http://www.riveraveblues.com Mike Axisa

The CC you like to see see?

      • ShuutoHeat

      • Bugsy

        har har

  • http://www.riveraveblues.com Mike Axisa

Damn Jacoby. You just got served.

  • ShuutoHeat

Lol, everyone in my living room is mocking Jacoby “I wax my eyebrows” Ellsbury.

All the girls are wondering if he waxes his nether regions. I think I’m going to throw up.

    Here comes Mr. Angry Squirrel.

    • Whitey14

You don’t have many Navajos around your parts do you? They don’t have to wax until they get much, much older.

  • Salty Buggah

After seeing the contracts post from the morning, I wonder if Ellsbury has a free eyebrow-waxing clause into his contract?

  • radnom

I have a feeling we could be watching something special here….wink wink nudge nudge

  • http://bronxbaseballdaily.com Matt ACTY/BBD

Is it just me or are Terry Francona’s glasses comically small?

    • Drew

he thinks he is larry david

    • http://eemack.blogspot.com Jackson

      He’s like Penny Marshal

      • http://bronxbaseballdaily.com Matt ACTY/BBD

        IETC

      • Whitey14

She could manage a bullpen better I’m guessing.

    • Mike Pop

It’s not just you, thought the same thing.

    • ShuutoHeat

That’s not Francona, that’s Paul Schaffer.

  • http://www.YouTube.com/kevyyankees Kevin G.

Thanks for answering my question in the last threat, Drew.

  • Bugsy

great. fucking mccarver just jinxed it. call your neighbors, everyone.

  • ShuutoHeat

    LOL
“We just keep grinding. Keep grinding. That’s all we can do, is keep grinding.” How many times did Francona use the word “grinding”? Was he looking at his guys when he was doing that?

    • Salty Buggah

according to your quote, 3 times. ;)

      • ShuutoHeat

:P that was a loose quote, we couldn’t help but laugh at how many times he said “grinding”.

Lot’s of gay jokes being tossed around here in this room right now. Not that there’s anything wrong with that lifestyle.

    • Accent Shallow

I also enjoy how “dirtbag” has replaced “dirt dog” as a complimentary euphemism for tough, hard-nosed players.

      • whozat

Isn’t there a college team called the Dirtbags? At a pretty legit program?

        • http://www.riveraveblues.com Mike Axisa

Long Beach State, aka Evan Longoria University, formerly known as The Troy Tulowitzki School.

    • Drew

      just keep choppin wood.
      /Rutgers’d

  • M18

did mccarver just try and jinx the big man?

    • radnom

Kay would have said something after the first batter.

      • Salty Buggah

Im sure Kay would say that before the first pitch

        • Mike Pop

“We got a perfect day for baseball, and hopefully we see a perfect game of baseball.”

  • Ivan

    Wow CC, 98MPH.

  • Drew

dang cc dialed that shit up

  • Bugsy

    burn in hell, victor.

  • SouthernYankeeFan

    Come on don’t walk him

  • Salty Buggah

damn you Martinez! Stop wasting CC’s bullets and get out already

    • Salty Buggah

  • Dela G

    CC is a fucking boss

  • Ivan

    CC is that negro.

  • http://bronxbaseballdaily.com Matt ACTY/BBD

    Brooks has CC’s avg. velo @ 94.96 with a high of 97.6.

  • George H

Any of you guys ever hear that radio clip where Michael Kay is talking on his radio show and one of his callers claims that he jinxes potential perfect games and he responds with an angry tirade? He was right, but it was completely over the top.

    • http://www.riveraveblues.com Mike Axisa

He once comparing jinxing a perfect game to the Holocaust.

      • http://bronxbaseballdaily.com Matt ACTY/BBD

        Wait…what? How the…?

    • radnom

You mean the one where he compares people who follow a common baseball superstition to Nazi’s?

      We’ve heard it.

      • George H

Oh my, I completely forgot about the Nazi comparison. Never a good way to prove your point.

    • Stadium Garlic Fries

It was priceless..I think he even referred something for holocaust and got lot of shit for it..

  • Ivan

Wow Joba was a fat ass kid

    • E-ROC

      Elephantiasis.

      • Dela G

hahahah i see what you did there

        • Mike Pop

Don’t you dare type it out.

          It’s ICWUDT

          It’s and RAB guideline.

          • RichYF

I’m still waiting for my royalties.

  • Salty Buggah

    That Joba commercial was awesome.

    • http://eemack.blogspot.com Jackson

I got a little goose bumpy

      • Salty Buggah

        a little yea

        • Dela G

          it was effing bossman like

          • Salty Buggah

yea, that was a good one

  • Bugsy

cannot believe they made that joba commercial. “this little boy from nebraska”

  • radnom

Joba was a pudgy little kid.

  • SouthernYankeeFan

Awww Joba was a chubby lil baseball player.

  • Dela G

    cano!

  • SouthernYankeeFan

    Cano is unimpressed by Clay

  • ShuutoHeat

Seriously it’s the friggin 4th inning, time to turn it loose on Clay “Buttholez”.

  • Ivan

Lazy single from a lazy player.

    • whozat

He likes to get hits because the bases make better pillows than home plate.

      • Bugsy

        hah!

  • ShuutoHeat

STFU with the whole “best bullpen in the league” crap already.

    • George H

They sure do strike out a bunch of people, though.

  • Ivan

    Buhholz FB command is off.

    • http://www.riveraveblues.com Mike Axisa

      Perpetually.

      • whozat

…and that’s another reason that putting players in motion would be good. Make him feel like he needs to throw the FB to give his catcher a chance to throw guys out.

  • http://www.facebook.com/dougchu Doug

You know, having a fair strike zone really makes the game a lot easier to watch.

  • http://bronxbaseballdaily.com Matt ACTY/BBD

    But the depth!!!!

  • http://www.riveraveblues.com Mike Axisa

    Clog those bases Swish.

  • Ivan

Another BB from the “4th outfielder”

  • Salty Buggah

no DP Melky! He has a pretty high GIDP rate, right?

  • E-ROC

    58 pitches for Buchholz

  • Jose

Out of curiosity, how many people do or do not believe in jinxes? Personally, I don’t care if an announcer talks about a perfect game or no-hitter until he is blue in the face. How can I or an announcer mentioning that CC has a perfect game going really alter reality?

    • George H

I used to believe in that no-hitter jinx nonsense, but honestly, it’s not like the players are hearing the commentators talk about it.

    • Salty Buggah

      I kinda do

    • Drew

How can a black cat cause bad luck, how can walking under an open ladder cause bad luck, why does a golden thong make me hit? It’s superstition, there is no reasonable explanation for it, it’s just a feeling/belief.

    • radnom

It obviously can’t affect the game in anyway. but its hardwired into the human brain to believe in stupid shit like that.

Personally I think its a cool, I typically don’t say anything. Its more of a baseball tradition than anything else.

    • Accent Shallow

I don’t think you or anyone else talking about it has any effect, but it’s a nice nod to baseball tradition.

Mention it just for the sake of mentioning it makes you look like a killjoy.

  • dkidd

    buchholtz looks like a tweaker

  • Ivan

    Molina hit a homer.

  • radnom

Youk clearly made that error because he forgot his glove in Boston.

  • http://bronxbaseballdaily.com Matt ACTY/BBD

Youk didn’t drop that ball because of the glare; he dropped it because he went back on that pop up like an infielder rather than running to the spot like an outifielder.

    • Whitey14

Matt is correct, but while Yanks fans were busy bashing him for the error, Sox fans were saying Thank God he had the balls to vounteer to go out there. Most Star players do not put themselves in difficult positions like that.

  • George H

You know, Francona’s glasses remind me of Benjamin Linus’ glasses from Lost.

    • radnom

Aha! I was subconsiously thinking the same thing but couldn’t put my finger on it.

It sort of gives him the ‘ruthless and manipulative intellectual’ look.

    • donttradecano

i was gonna go with john lennon

      • Mike Pop

I hate to say it, but unless he has two 5-7 pitch innings, I might want a Sox hit here.

        • Mike Pop

I need to get more sleep.

  • ShuutoHeat

……I’ve officially muted the game and brought out monopoly. I can’t stand the droning commentary….

  • Salty Buggah

    Nice quotes from Alex:

“I’m enjoying the game at a level that I really haven’t enjoyed before, because it’s simply 100 percent about my team and winning games.

“You know in the past, I was so consumed with trying to do special things. Now, I’m worried about just one thing, and that’s winning.

“This is the best I’ve ever gotten along with my teammates, and this is the most at pece I’ve been in New York, too. Going through the humiliation of spring training, and how embarrassing and how hard that was for me…allows me to sit here now and move forward and play baseball. That’s what I’m good at.’’“I’m enjoying the game at a level that I really haven’t enjoyed before, because it’s simply 100 percent about my team and winning games.

    • Drew

      nice. source?

  • GG

I love it when pitchers point up at balls that no play can be made on, as if they expect a teammate to get it done for them, I’m just waiting to see it on a HR, ahaha

    • Salty Buggah

Coke did that on a HR

      • EvoLuTioN

        coke does it on everything

  • Bugsy

hey oh! look like someone read RAB

  • Dela G

how was i not shocked that molina would swing at that

  • Ivan

    Oh well.

  • Ghost of Scott Brosius

I think we wasted too many on smoltzie and traber

  • Bugsy

you’re right, mccarver. how can announcers be so stupid, right? right?

  • Salty Buggah

Did I just hear a Let’s go Red Sox chant?

    • George H

They had a couple going last night too, but the crowd quickly shushed them.

  • Drew

ha damn spike lees dad looks just like spike

    • Mike Pop

      Lol, that’s opposite.

  • Ivan

You know what would be interesting, if CC did complete the “thing”, CC would be the first African-American pitcher to do so.

  • http://www.riveraveblues.com Mike Axisa

CC took a little off on that one. It was only 94.

  • pat

I was gone for a minute… we had sox trolls and I missed them?
    Damn!

  • Salty Buggah

95 mph sinker according to Gameday…thats how much movement he has.

  • http://www.riveraveblues.com Mike Axisa

    Where’d the curve miss?

  • Ivan

    Plz don’t BB Ortiz.

  • GG

    Ball 3?????? What a joke

  • Dela G

wow that ball 3 was strike 3

  • Drew

Does anyone else laugh when they hear, “Michael Weeener?”

  • Bugsy

this crowd is really annoying. they’re prematurely blowing their collective load.

  • Ghost of Scott Brosius

If only artie lange were around to liven up this telecast

  • Salty Buggah

    damn it papi get out

  • EvoLuTioN

    crappy walk

  • Dela G

    WOW!!

How the hell was that a ball?????

  • SouthernYankeeFan

    Shit

  • Ivan

    Where was that fuckin pitch.

  • http://www.riveraveblues.com Mike Axisa

    Strike 5.

  • Mike Pop

    Damn.

  • SouthernYankeeFan

    thats a strike on Gameday

  • Drew

dude what the fuck ump? WHere the fuck do you want it?

  • Salty Buggah

uh no that wasnt inside McCarver, that was a clear strike on Gameday

  • whozat

Wow, ball 4 was DEFINITELY strike 3.

    • SouthernYankeeFan

      So was ball 3

  • Bugsy

unbelievable. when do the robot umpires get implemented?

    • Dela G

robot umps get those calls correct

  • party bear

    garbage umpire

  • souterfell

    Ugh.

  • Dela G

    unfucking believable

  • http://twitter.com/Hopjake Jake H

    ump is sucking it up

  • Salty Buggah

cmon CC, need a DP here to be efficient

  • donttradecano

gameday says that was a strike

  • ShuutoHeat

When I see Rosenthal, I wanna kill a puppy.

    • Ghost of Scott Brosius

I just want to kill rosenthal. spare the puppy

    • George H

      Get owned, J.D. Drew.

  • GG

Where on earth are these pitches missing?????

  • Accent Shallow

Joe Buck is the worst dude.

  • Bugsy

what the fuCK! i hope this ump drowns in a vat of acid.

  • SouthernYankeeFan

    This ump is fucking AWFUL.

  • Drew

I really hate umpires, I mean, legitimately dislike them.

    • Jose

Agreed. How can you call that 3-2 pitch a ball in a game where CC is clearly commanding his pitches? Wait, screw that, how can any umpire call that a ball ever?

  • Dela G

    this ump sucks so much

  • George H

And the ump blew the 1-2 pitch on Lowell too.

  • EvoLuTioN
  • GG

I don’t remember the zone being quite so small till this inning, we better get the same

  • SouthernYankeeFan

    smallest strike zone ever.

  • Bugsy

dagnamit. now i’m worried about his PC.

  • Zack

when a guy is throwing a gem, i thought umps usually give them the corner calls? apparently not

  • V

I absolutely love it that a horrible umpire breaks up a perfect game by calling a strike a ball.

Robot umpires can’t come fast enough. Fuck.

    • Accent Shallow

      Tell it to Milt Pappas.

  • Dela G

where the hell are these missing?????!!!???

  • Mike Ox

This ump needs to die now.

  • Accent Shallow

That fastball certainly looked like strike 3.

    • Accent Shallow

And CC makes it redundant. Still horseshit that he “walked” Ortiz.

  • Bugsy

fuckitery. what in the living hell. how the is this shit happening. what did cc do to this guy?

  • Drew

I’d love for a foultip to hit him square in the mask.

  • EvoLuTioN

    NASTY strike for C.C.

    81 pitches through 5

  • Dela G

    STRIKE HIM OUTT!!!???!!!

    EXCELLENTE CC

  • party bear

    overpowering

  • Salty Buggah

CC at 81 pitches already…thanks for wasting 6 more pitches you blind ump

    • Ghost of Scott Brosius

The ortiz and martinez at-bats killed him

    • whozat

81 through 5 innings is really not an “already” kind of thing. he should have 2 more innings without too much of a problem.

  • whozat

Take a little off, throw it at _merely_ 94 on the outside corner.

  • Ghost of Scott Brosius

C.C. won’t let the racist umpires bring him down

  • Brazilian Yankee

It’s like the ump is scared of giving the final strike to CC.

  • SouthernYankeeFan

Anybody ever see the video of the high school kid who didnt like the stike zone so threw a pitch at the ump and the catcher ducked. This guy deserves that treatment from CC.

    • George H

Didn’t the catcher who did that lose out on a scholarship because of that?

      • SouthernYankeeFan

yeah i think they both got in trouble.

  • Bugsy

    CC: 1
    World: 0

  • EvoLuTioN

C.C. usually pitches to contact and doesn’t K a lot when he goes complete game. today he isn’t allowing any contact whatsoever so naturally his PC will be higher

  • DreDog

They are trying to make Carsten Charles throw a lot of pitches. They know they are useless against him.

  • EvoLuTioN

Jeter looks like extremely lost while facing buchholz

hasn’t taken a good swing at all today

  • http://www.YouTube.com/kevyyankees Kevin G.
    • whozat

Heh. The article about Roy Halladay not actually existing was pretty funny too.

      • Mike Pop

        Damn you whozat!

    • Mike Pop

The Onion is great. I enjoyed the post about how there was never a real Roy Halladay.

  • Dela G

How was he fooled on the pitch… he fouled it off buck

  • Bugsy

i’m starting a hit squat and i intend to go after mccarver and buck first. anybody with me?

    • JMK

You’ll be crashing at their places? Or hitting them while in a squatting position? Or both?

      Count me in!

  • GG

they’re really talking about 2004? give it a rest

  • http://www.riveraveblues.com Mike Axisa

Third time through the order, time to obliterate Buchholz.

    • whozat

Yup. Whenever he needs a strike, he goes to the changeup. Sit on it and take the FBs that he doesn’t really locate that well.

  • EvoLuTioN

    Lol

  • Ghost of Scott Brosius

Derek needs a day off. If not tomorrow then next series. No Dhing-full day

  • whozat

So, instead of talking about anything that’s happening now, they’re talking about the 2004 postseason?

Seriously, Jeter not having great ABs today, and not so great yesterday either. He won’t sit until this series is over, but maybe they can talk him into a day off on Monday. ARod needs at least a DH day too, not gonna lie.

  • Dela G

    YOUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUK SUUUUUUKKKKKKKKSSSSS

  • Salty Buggah

Damon knows whats up! Just hit it to YOOOOOOOUK!

  • Mike Ox

Damon abusing Youkalis. I love it.

  • http://www.riveraveblues.com Mike Axisa

The sad part is that Youk is an upgrade defensively over Bay.

    • Salty Buggah

      Yikes

    • Ghost of Scott Brosius

Was Bay always a bad outfielder? Or is it age? I seemed to recall him being quality

      • EvoLuTioN

he’s as quality a defensive LF as mcclouth is as quality a defensive CF

        • Ghost of Scott Brosius

          /Francesa’d

      • George H

        Career UZR/150 in LF: -8.5

      • Accent Shallow

He had in injury in ’06 or ’07 that sent his defense in the tank, and it’s never come back.

Luckily for him, he can still hit.

    • Dela G

yeah i always thought Bay looked like he was “running in slow motion” and “looked like a 1st baseman”

  • George H

Wow, Youk just isn’t suited to LF.

  • Ghost of Scott Brosius

    Versatility!

  • Stryker

any other left fielder and damon’s out rofl

    • Dela G

      lol i know

    • EvoLuTioN

even damon could catch that ball

  • pat

    Love the fake youk chant.

  • http://www.facebook.com/dougchu Doug

    LOLYouk

  • GG

He really just compared bucholtz to Lincy????

  • Salty Buggah

    no DP A-rod

  • Dela G

    aight a-rod

    lets go

  • SouthernYankeeFan

    Lets go AROD!!

  • GG

Ok A-Rod, get it done this time

  • http://twitter.com/Hopjake Jake H

    we need this here.

  • pat

Readin a boxox blog before and they wouldn’t trade Cain and Lincecum for Lester and Beckett. Objectively speaking I think I’d do that.

    • Ghost of Scott Brosius

Yeah but you don’t know how the AL east would affect them

      • pat

Lincecum I doubt would be afftected at all really, Cain I’m not as familiar with but his numbers suggest he would be able to make a pretty nice transition. 7.6 h/9 seems like a lot though.

    • George H

I think Lincecum > Lester, and Cain > Beckett in terms of contract and return on investment. Cain is younger and his contract is much more team-friendly.

      • Ghost of Scott Brosius

Definitely. But you can understand the attachment to your own players, one of whom is homegrown

    • Whitey14

I would too and I really like Lester

      • pat

Yeah, even though he’s a dirty bostonite such as yourself Whitey I like Lester alot too. Very very good young pitcher.

    • Accent Shallow

Maybe, but it’s pretty close. The Giants duo are younger, but neither Lester or Beckett are exactly ancient.

  • SouthernYankeeFan

no more swings like that please

  • Reggie C.

Arod needs to be clutch for once in his yankee career.

    • Salty Buggah

      ….

  • Dela G

man that sucked for alex there

    • YankeeScribe

      atleast he moved the runners

      • Dela G

        yezzur

  • BigBlueAL

Might be the ugliest at-bat Ive seen Arod have.

    • George H

He could probably use a day off too.

  • Salty Buggah

better than a DP I guess

    cmon Hideki!

  • Russell NY

If I were Matsui I would stand on homeplate and look middle in.

    • JMK

If you were Matsui you’d be too busy watching porn to even think about baseball.

      • Russell NY

        touche

  • Salty Buggah

Buchholz got 2 lucky little check swing comebackers there.

  • Ghost of Scott Brosius

Holy fuck can’t they sit on the goddamn changeup?

  • Bugsy

    right where they left off.

  • Dela G

dam hideki was sittin on the fastball

  • SouthernYankeeFan

Shit Yankees smoke make this fucker pay.

    • SouthernYankeeFan

      whoops meant to delete smoke.

  • BigBlueAL

OK its getting to a point where this offense is really getting annoying to watch.

    • pat

We put up THIRTEEN runs two days ago. Chill yourself bro, as long as we score more then them that’s all that matters.

  • Accent Shallow

It’s worked for him so far today, but there’s no way Buchholz can succeed in the majors pitching backwards off a changeup, no matter how good it is.

    Is there?

    • Ghost of Scott Brosius

Keith foulke did it. For a bit. And I never understood how.

      • Accent Shallow

Keith Foulke was a reliever, though.

    • George H

I don’t know what Buchholz approach was in the minors, but he throws his change about 20% of the time, while he throws his fastball about 50% of the time. Comparatively, Santana throws his change about 28% of the time since ’07. I’m not saying that Buchholz’ change is greater than or equal to Santana’s, but people certainly get away throwing lots of change-ups.

  • Brazilian Yankee

1 for 9 with RISP. Terrible.

    • CP3

      O for 0 with RISP

    • Stryker

after thursday’s game, i’m never complaining about the yankees hitting w/RISP ever again.

  • Mike Pop

    Six pitch inning, come on!

  • YankeeScribe

    Clay is pretty nasty today

  • Dela G

he FINALLY GETS THE CURVE CALL??!!!

  • http://www.facebook.com/dougchu Doug

    Shut the front door!

  • E-ROC

    Frozen.

  • souterfell

Everyone saw him trying to get hit right. Just checking.

  • Salty Buggah

That was the same pitch to Ortiz…

And look at Kotchman trying to get hit.

  • BigBlueAL

What a bitch-ass move by Kotchman.

  • Drew

We are fucking stunned Mccarver. We never thought we’d ever see good pitching ever! It’s crazy!!!

  • Accent Shallow

I thought Nick Green had just tied it up.

    That would have been horseshit.

  • gio

It’s not even that McCarver keeps mentioning the no-hitter that bothers me. It’s that it seems like he’s doing it so as to bother Yankee fans.

    • adeel

      I know what you mean.

  • beware of Michael Kay

what a bitch. and I used to have respect for Casey Kotchman

  • Dela G

damn it, there goes the no-hitter

  • Accent Shallow

So it goes. At least it was clean.

  • Salty Buggah

    damn little blooper!

oh well, great job by CC so far anyway

  • Bugsy

    bahhhh. o well

    now win the game.

  • gio

Ok, now let’s just focus on winning this one, boys.

  • Drew

stand up u lazy asses. god sometimes i hate our fan base

    • beware of Michael Kay

i agree with that. what happened to standing up with 2 outs and 2 strikes and making hell.

    • pat

      nah, they were cheering.

  • beware of Michael Kay

i blame the following people: Tim McCarver

  • Ghost of Scott Brosius

Buck just got so excited. he rushed to say tying run on base

  • pat

Fuckin awesome crowd givin CC props after losing the no-no. I can’t fathom rooting for another team.

    • Salty Buggah

      well said brotha

      • King of Fruitless Hypotheticals

    Francona has John Lennon glasses.

    • http://bronxbaseballdaily.com Matt ACTY/BBD

Francona has John Lennon Penny Marshall glasses.

      yup.

      • Accent Shallow

        Fuck is Penny Marshall?

      • pat

HAHAHA +1, KHud used to be maad fugs when she was young. Luckily for her she has improved with age.

  • beware of Michael Kay

    pedroia = mega bitch

  • http://www.facebook.com/dougchu Doug

    SIT. DOWN. PEDROIA.

  • cjc

hmm arguing a foul tip thats a first

    • Dela G

that wasn’t a foul tip though

  • Drew

Pedroia argues a strike, but no, don’t throw him out, he’s just telling you you’re wrong.

  • DreDog

Please let there be a Midget Toss!!!!

  • YankeeScribe

    Sit down dwarf

  • Ghost of Scott Brosius

Pedroia= overrated product of boston hype machine/grit obsession

    • George H

Pedroia’s a bitch, but he’s still a really good player. That MVP wasn’t undeserved. You don’t find that combination of a bat and glove in many 2B.

  • Tank the Frank

If I could choose one person in the world to fight, it would be Dustin Pedroia.

    And it’s not even close.

    • http://bronxbaseballdaily.com Matt ACTY/BBD

      I’d fight Ghandi.

      • Tank the Frank

        Hemingway. I’d fight Earnest Heminway.

      • pat

        Lincoln.

        • pat

Big Man, big reach. Skinny guys fight til they’re burger.

  • GG

I’m kinda glad he gave up a hit, so that BS walk to Oritz wouldnt have had larger meaning

  • CP3

    francona looks like dustin’s dad.

  • King of Fruitless Hypotheticals

    A) fuck you mccarver. Some of us like baseball, it’s traditions and superstitions
    B) argue balls and strikes,be guaranteed hot water for your shower. Unless youre Francona.

  • Ghost of Scott Brosius

    Didnt he go around anway?

  • jjhammer31

    Pedroia went around anyway…

  • Accent Shallow

I cannot believe that FloMax is a sponsor. Best name for urinary aid ever.

  • donttradecano

I guess little dusty really cant hit the high fastball.

  • George H

You know, people make a big fuss about Joba “showing up” the other team, but what about Pedroia? He has yelled at pitchers after getting hits off them. I mean, honestly, neither act really bothers me that much, but the amount of press that has been devoted to Joba and his fist pumps is staggering and mind-numbingly stupid.

  • No Halladay

STILL no need for Halladay with the best record in the majors/

  • Drew

Did anyone else catch that? Pedroia had a “mild argument,” but, before, A’rod vehemently argued that he got hit.

  • Teix is the Man

CC for seventh, Hughes for eighth, Mo for ninth, no?

  • Teix is the Man

CC for seventh, Hughes for eighth, Mo for ninth, no?

  • Mike Pop

    Cano is the fucking man!

  • http://bronxbaseballdaily.com Matt ACTY/BBD

    Nice rip, Robbie!

  • Salty Buggah

OK, guys lets get him out this innings so he can get an early start to steal laptops.

    CANO!!!!

  • YankeeScribe

    Cano own’s Clay Buttholes

  • Dela G

    CANO!!!

he’s a MURDERER when No One is on base

  • Accent Shallow

Cano is not fooled at all by Buchholz. Love it.

  • Ghost of Scott Brosius

If cano could lead off every inning, hed hit .480

  • souterfell

    gotta love robbie

  • http://bronxbaseballdaily.com Matt ACTY/BBD

    Pull it, Swish!

  • Zack

i love doubles in the left-center gap by Cano

  • Tank the Frank

Cano needs to talk to the rest of the team about hitting Buchholz.

  • ShuutoHeat

    Cano PWNS Clay “Buttholez”.
In fact he has him on a leash, he is Cano’s lil bitch.

  • Salty Buggah

cmon Swisher start hitting at home !

  • Dela G

    great bunt swishahouse

  • http://bronxbaseballdaily.com Matt ACTY/BBD

I do not approve…but it worked. Melky’s gotta do his job now.

  • Ghost of Scott Brosius

    Interesting decision…

  • Bugsy

    i hate bunting.

  • BigBlueAL

    Sigh.

  • Dela G

ok molina, you make his ass pay

  • No Halladay

Dumb to bunt there, now a walk to set up the DP

  • Drew

    JoPo?

  • Bugsy

    melky better steal.

  • Salty Buggah

    Melky is feared!!!!!

    Melky better steal now.

    • Zack

      so hes HOF worthy now?

    • Ghost of Scott Brosius

What’s vmarts arm like these days?

      • Mike Pop

        Not very good, at all.

  • Ghost of Scott Brosius

Did joe realize this would happen?

  • Mike Pop

    Molina will come through here.

  • BigBlueAL

    Francona is no idiot.

  • Zack

Posada has to PH for Molina no?

    • manimal

hell no… he caught a shit load of innings yesturday.

  • dre

bunting with a man in scoring postion already is utterly stupid.

    • Tank the Frank

      +1,000

  • manimal

How the times have changed… Melky gets IBB’d

  • No Halladay

    Bunt again, why not?

    • Ghost of Scott Brosius

      Agreed

  • ShuutoHeat

Would be funny if Molina gets walked or he bloops one RIGHT over the squirrel known as Pedroia.

  • http://bronxbaseballdaily.com Matt ACTY/BBD

    Today, we spell “feared” M-E-L-K-Y.

  • http://bronxbaseballdaily.com Matt ACTY/BBD

Do NOT hit one on the ground, Jose. Please.

  • dre

    where is the pinch hitter????????????

    • Mike Pop

      No worries. Hava Molina!

  • Dela G

    Melky should run on buchholz

    • whozat

Seriously. If you’re not going to PH, you HAVE to take away the double play.

      Well struck, Jose!

  • No Halladay

Maybe we’ll get a good count for a hit and run to satay away from the DP

  • No Halladay

Maybe we’ll get a good count for a hit and run to satay away from the DP

  • toad

Not a good move with a tiring pitcher and Molina due up after Cabrera. There was no DP to dodge.

  • SouthernYankeeFan

Can i get an explanation of the laptop references.

    • whozat

Clay got in trouble in HS by acting as the lookout for a buddy who was stealing laptops in school.

At least, that’s basically it. Some details may be wrong.

      • Drew

        lmao @ “lookout”

    • Zack

he was arrested for stealing 29 laptops from his high school

    • Accent Shallow
  • Russell NY

Just no DP and we are in business.

  • Accent Shallow

Why not send Melky to take off the DP? Melky’s a decent baserunner, and Martinez doesn’t exactly have a gun.

  • http://bronxbaseballdaily.com Matt ACTY/BBD

    ‘UUUUUGE

  • No Halladay

    Good enough!

  • Drew

    way to go JoMo!!

  • Dela G

    MOLINA !!!!!

    2-0 yankees!

    Great job Molina!

  • Bugsy

    Never. A. Doubt.

    • Salty Buggah

      /Little Bill’d

      Hehe just kidding LB.

  • manimal

    Small ball.

  • YankeeScribe

    I love the execution

  • Ghost of Scott Brosius

    Ataboy jomo!

  • BigBlueAL

    Molina just saved Girardi’s ass.

  • Mike Ox

    Make them pay Molina !!!
    Nice job.

  • http://www.facebook.com/dougchu Doug

  • Russell NY

I am watching Bernie on YES for good luck

  • Salty Buggah

MOLINA!!!! I thought he had a basehit there but it hung up

  • toad

    Well, showed me.

  • dre

good job Molina, saved Girardi from his stupidty

  • Mike Pop

Molina won’t go out like no bitch.

  • No Halladay

ESPN’s game cast states yanks have an 84% chance of winning this game

  • Tank the Frank

Have we even attempted to steal a base against this team…one of the worst team at throwing runners out in terms of percentage?

Not counting last night’s hit and run.

    • Ghost of Scott Brosius

Gardner wouldve owned in this series

  • Mike Pop

McCarver is so against pitch counts and innings limits.

    • Mike Ox

I am against McCarver living and breathing,

  • http://www.facebook.com/dougchu Doug

JD Drew has such good range… if he’s healthy enough to play at all.

    • Dela G

      agreed

      he’s pretty decent out there

  • Dela G

hey its all good, another run for the yanks!

    2-0 end of 6? i’ll take it

  • Accent Shallow

Two solidly struck balls, two outs.

At least Molina’s drove in Robbie.

  • http://bronxbaseballdaily.com Matt ACTY/BBD

I know everyone is loving what Nolan Ryan’s doing down in Texas but that could really come back to bite the Rangers next season. I’m not saying it will, but there’s a good possibility.

    • whozat

If by “everyone” you mean “old timey baseball guys who think that pitch counts are stupid because they don’t realize the reason that THEY never heard of any guys who needed pitch counts back in the day is because those guys all flamed out in the minors and became used car salesmen”

  • whozat

I wish that someone would ask Girardi why they haven’t been more aggressive on the basepaths with the Sox being so terrible at throwing out guys. But they won’t. They’ll ask how important it was to win the ballgame, and if the guys are tired after playing 15 innings.

    • Ghost of Scott Brosius

      +1000

  • Russell NY

Tough part of the order for CC

  • Tank the Frank

    6 hits, 5 walks = 2 runs. Meh.

  • No Halladay

SOx really don’t look the same, to think that they could be on track to give up five games in the standings in five days is really unthinkable.

Thanks to who leaked the PAPI mess. Thanks, Thanks, Thanks.

  • Ghost of Scott Brosius

    This is a huge inning

  • Bugsy

is there anything to Victor Martinez’s precipitous decline from his stellar march and april?
