Game 114: Want to get away?

Better living through reverse platooning
Game 114 Spillover Thread

With the Yanks right in the middle of a 16-game stretch, the starters will get a rest over the next few days. Johnny Damon was out of the lineup on Monday, and Swisher took a seat yesterday. Today it’s Teixeira, though I’m a bit surprised it’s not A-Rod on a day game after a night game. I expect he’ll get tomorrow off.

Taking the hill for the Blue Jays is rookie Ricky Romero. The lefty started off the season strong, bringing his ERA as low as 2.85 after shutting out the Rays over eight innings on July 1. He’s been less than impressive since then, allowing 24 runs over 43 innings with a 29:20 K/BB ratio. As Mike suggested, he could be vulnerable against lefties because of his reliance on his changeup.

Romero has faced the Yankees just once this season, in his start following the Rays shutout. He pitched very well through six, allowing just a home run to Eric Hinske — who is in the lineup today, and knowing Girardi it’s probably for just that reason. He hit a snag in the seventh, though, when two singles, a force out, and a walk loaded the bases. Nick Swisher managed to plate two of those runs off Brandon League, but the Yanks were already down 7-1. Had Teixeira and A-Rod continued the rally, perhaps the Yanks could have won that game.

A.J. Burnett is coming off perhaps his best start of the season. After Jacoby Ellsbury singled to lead off the game, Burnett didn’t allow the Red Sox any more through 7.2 innings. He did walk six, but seeing as Dustin Pedroia and Kevin Youkilis each walked twice, a few of those might have been with a purpose. Other than a hiccup in Chicago, Burnett has been lights out since getting shelled in Boston back in June. As he himself said: “I’m going to go on a run, and it will be impressive.” It sure has, A.J.

Lineup:

1. Derek Jeter, SS
2. Johnny Damon, LF
3. Hideki Matsui, DH
4. Alex Rodriguez, 3B
5. Jorge Posada, C
6. Robinson Cano, 2B
7. Nick Swisher, 1B
8. Eric Hinske, RF
9. Melky Cabrera, CF

And on the mound, number thirty-four, A.J. Burnett.

    Let’s Go yanks!

  • mryankee

I guess I am leading off-I want to say that I was a huge propent of AJ Burnett since early last year I saw him pitch an wondered how did this guy lose? I am very happy with his perofrmance for the most part-today is an important game as it can be a trap game-rmero can be tough and I hope AJ does not pitch to the level of competition. You dont want to give 2 games back to teh Sox-as they will have Beckett going tonight against Gallaragga-so important game wish Tex was in the lineup

AJ’s not just been a great pitcher for the Yanks since putting it all together on the field, but he’s turning out to be beyond awesome off of it.

Assuming AJ doesn’t shit the bed today (it’s always a possibility), we need an AJ appreciation thread.

    • King of Fruitless Hypotheticals

…ok Rebecca, you screwed me. Now everyone is wondering why the asshole in the corner office went to get a Coke with his eyes all wet.

on a positive side note, what you didnt hear about was AJ brushing one back after a particularly spectacular shot (with a wiffle bat nonetheless). AJ was heard to mutter ‘…i can throw at yookliss too…’

      • Rocky Road Redemption (formerly known as RAB poster)

I want to se CC throw at Youk. Let’s see Youk try and tackle CC.

    • Joey

Awesome little story, love hearing about stuff like this. Always seems like the Yanks are the one team consistently giving too. Thanks Rebecca

Awesome little story, love hearing about stuff like this. Always seems like the YanksEVIL EMPIRE are the ones consistently giving too. Thanks Rebecca

    • Tank the Frank

But I thought the Yankees were killing small babies with their high payroll?

ESPN told me so. Now I’m confused.

      • Rocky Road Redemption (formerly known as RAB poster)

No, they don’t KILL small babies silly. They get them afflicted at birth with that disease that doesn’t allow you to go out in the sun using high radiation machines, then try to make themselves look good so that nobody suspects them by holding a nice little carnival.

I know it didn’t appear that way. But that’s what made the plan so brilliant. If not for ESPN, they would have gotten away with it w/o the truth being known, too. The brave sportscasters on ESPN are heroes for risking their lives on national TV revealing the truth on the Evil Empire. Who knows where we’d be w/o them?

        • King of Fruitless Hypotheticals

complaining about how bad headline news is?

  • Tank the Frank

Similar to the player appreciation threads that RAB has, can we have a “Kevin Youkilis is a bitch” or maybe a more politically correct “Kevin Youkilis is a big fat baby” thread where we can all just bash on Yuuuuuuuuuuuk for a few hours?

Not right now of course, but sometime in the future. We can just keep it up and running all the time. And every time he cries about something or makes an ass of himself – which is often – we can go back to the thread and bash him.

    • http://www.riveraveblues.com Benjamin Kabak

Or we could take the high road and not stoop to the level of idiocy that comes out of Boston. That’s our preference.

That is the best idea I’ve heard in a long time. You have earned a +5, my friend.

      • Tank the Frank

It’s a nice idea. But you gotta remember, RAB is big time now. They’re the official blog of the YES Network. Kevin Youkilis is a Fat Bitch threads are not good for business.

I was only kidding anyway sort of.

        • Rocky Road Redemption (formerly known as RAB poster)

How about a “Kevin Youkilis’s goatee makes him look rather ridiculous” thread? That’s far more politically correct.

          • LiveFromNewYork

The next time Youk is at the plate at the Stadium against CC or Joba we have to start a “charge the mound” chant. Though I think Pettitte would probably drop him as well.

  • VO

I live about a half hour away from the stadium and its about to pour. That’s an understatement.

Odds of game being played on time low then?

      • Rocky Road Redemption (formerly known as RAB poster)

I just checked weather.com and it says there’s only a 15% chance of precipitation right now and a 0% chance of precipitation in an hour, so we should get the game in.

And first year at the new stadium…not bad!

Now where’s all that talk about the new stadium not having the intimidation factor the old one did? lol (small sample size)

      • Bill R

They we’re saying yesterday that ever since that Boston Series the fans have given this stadium it’s “identity” by making a lot more noise then they used to. I believe it.

  • zs190

We ought to do well. Joba’s struggles last night aside(really just one bad inning), Jays’ lineup terrible beyond the top 4.

  • Salty Buggah

It kinda sucks to have Tex take a day off as he’s done well against lefties and is consistent. Let’s hope A-rod can pick up the slack and have a good day.

Anyone with Insider should check this out, Keith Law so you know it’s good: http://insider.espn.go.com/espn/blog/index?entryID=4392773&name=law_keith

For those without, basically blames Youk for being unable to keep his emotions in check and says he was probably looking for something to charge the mound with and get Porcello out of the game. He also blamed the umps (here’s a snip-it): “and while some responsibility has to fall on home plate umpire Brian O’Nora, it’s time MLB took a more serious look at Tuesday’s first base ump and crew chief, Jerry Crawford.

This is Crawford’s second major incident of the month, after Friday’s egregious blown call and subsequent outburst against Arizona manager A.J. Hinch. While Crawford has yet to sink that low during this game — the night is still young as I type this — the crew’s decision to toss Porcello after he hit one batter with a three-run lead and no warning in effect was incompetence at best and cowing to a hostile Fenway crowd at worst.”

    • http://www.puristbleedspinstripes.com Rebecca-Optimist Prime

I saw that last night…he has a point.

      • Joey

Ah it’s been out for a little? My bad, thought it was new. Was out last night, saw the brawl and everything when I got back at like 2am on SC, just catching up now

      • Rocky Road Redemption (formerly RAB poster)

He is absolutely right. Youkilis was just trying to get Porcello tosedto give his team the best chance to win and it worked. Porcello shouldn’t even have been tossed.

        • Drew

I dunno if you’re joking or not. But, Porcello wasn’t tossed for the brawl (I think), it was for the pitch.

          • Rocky Road Redemption (formerly RAB poster)

Not joking. I thought he was tossed for the brawl. I don’t think they tossed him before that.

            • Drew

On MLB Network last night they were saying it was for the pitch. I’m not sure where we can find out for sure. If he was tossed for the brawl, that make NOOO friggin sense.

  • Zack

Ha i love Mike Francesa’s opening- Joba has a good record because Yankees have bailed him out a billion, a zillion times!

    • Tank the Frank

I’m beginning to think he dislikes Joba, no matter what he says to the contrary.

      • Zack

it’s just an act for raings. he said the ‘daily joba drama’ is something we just have to live with, while its only talked about because of him. imagine if Joba was never brought up to the bullpen? life would be so much easier

        • Randy A.

Ya…its just a way to draw people in and make himself look smarter because of extremely irrational fans who call in and try to argue with him without backing up their points. It’s painful to listen to Francesa when he talks about Joba

    • Rocky Road Redemption (formerly RAB poster)

I wonder if he he can grasp how untrue that really, truly is?

    • Salty Buggah

Its funny how some caller asked him about Jason Hirsh but he hung up and said he’s never heard of anyone like that and that he’s not signed by the Yanks..

      • Rocky Road Redemption (formerly RAB poster)

        That was just hilarious.

      • Zack

thats bad. if your a sports talk show host you atleast have to know the moves/trades that your team makes

    • Drew

He’s just a moron. I used to love his show back in the day. I don’t know if I just got older and got more wise to his idiocy, or if he got older and went senile.

  • Drew

Not a big fan of Godzilla at 3, I’d rather have Canobie. Eh, I’m not one to complain about a lineup, watevs.

    • King of Fruitless Hypotheticals

aha, drew, what you dont get is that by batting third, Godzilla will have a chance to score from first if he were to get walk, when Arod smashes a blazing line drive single into right center.

      oh wait…nm…

    • Rocky Road Redemption (formerly RAB poster)

I don’t like Cano high up in the lineup, personally.

  • Drew

Dang these lights probably take a few minutes to boot up.

    • Drew

      n/m ha

  • http://twitter.com/Hopjake Jake H
    • Joey

Him and Mo. I’d kill myself if those 2 were ever found guilty of anything like that

    • Rocky Road Redemption (formerly RAB poster)

Jeter and Mo would be the worst. I wouldn’t give up baseball but I’d be deeply shocked an saddened.

Frankly I’d be surprised if Thome didn’t do stroids. Jr. I doubt.

      • http://twitter.com/Hopjake Jake H

        I agree.

    • LiveFromNewYork

It’s a lot of hyperbole. Shred your tickets because baseball players took steroids in the steroid era? There’s testing now. Back away from the ledge.

And neither Jeter nor Mo took steroids so we can just stop writing insane articles around the “if they did.”

And to write a byline like that in the day and age where no one reads the full article is irresponsible.

  • Tank the Frank

AJ’s probably going to go over 100 BB this season. He’ll definitely eclipse his career high. I’m not sure how to feel about that seeing as he continues to throw up zeros even though his walks are high.

    • http://www.puristbleedspinstripes.com Rebecca-Optimist Prime

If AJ keeps winning he could walk the bases loaded every inning.

Not to say that I’d want him to do that though.

      • http://www.riveraveblues.com Mike Axisa

My buddy was complaining about how baggy CC’s uniform us. I told him e could wear a toga on the mound for all I care.

      • Rocky Road Redemption (formerly RAB poster)

        Exactly.

  • http://www.riveraveblues.com Mike Axisa

AJ’s heater is running all over the place today. Holy crap.

      Or wild.

      • Jersey

…guess it’s kinda the same thing, far as he’s concerned.

        • King of Fruitless Hypotheticals

  • JSquared

wow, down the middle… Looking… that’s when you know.

  • http://bronxbaseballdaily.com Matt ACTY/BBD

    Stupid bleeders.

  • Tank the Frank

Jorge has no ability to catch AJ. Not that it’s an easy task.

    • JSquared

Well, Jorge should’ve called the Hard Slider on Lind to end the inning with a streikeout… but fastball gets hit through, now a walk…

      • Tank the Frank

Eh, I’m not much talking about the pitch selection as I am the wild pitches. A new career-high for AJ. It’s tough for any catcher back there when he pitches, but I’d like to see Jorge step it up. That ball, for instance, was one he should have had.

    • Rocky Road Redemption (formerly RAB poster)

I think we’ve been through this before. Didn’t Jorge catch 14 of the 15 innings in the New York Marathon (you know what I’m talking about)?

      • Tank the Frank

Good point. I knew I’d catch some shit with that post. Just an observation. AJ’s tough to catch. But no one would say one of Jorge’s strengths is blocking balls. It’s a tough assignment for Jorge is what I should have said.

    • Drew

Why? Because of a 95 mile an hour pitch in the dirt or the fact that AJ is having a hard time hitting the glove?

  • Dela G

man that looked like a crazily hit single

  • Rocky Road Redemption (formerly RAB poster)

Burnett all of a sudden has realy lost the strike zone.

    • Nady Nation

Shocking turn of events for AJ.

    • Johan Iz My Brohan

Remember though last time out, he was horrible the first inning, then lights out for the rest of it.

      • Jersey

I’m debating going to the bar to watch this. If AJ has a good second inning, I’ll go. If he’s still wild, I’ll save my money.

  • Jersey

Is this the part where he throws his helmet at Romero?

    • JobaWockeeZ

Then running up he the mound to get completely owned by the pitcher?

Some dont realize that AJ throws basically 2 pitches.

  • Drew

    This guy is friggin beastly.

    Cue, “this scrub!!!???”

    • Dela G

he almost looks like frank thomas with the way he stands up

      • Ghost of Scott Brosius

Excellent call i was thinking the exact same thing

  • Ghost of Scott Brosius

    Ruiz can definitely hit

  • Salty Buggah

    WTH? Ruiz again!!!

  • Zack

i thought Joba was the only starter who ever gives up HR to 31 year old career minor leaguers?

    • Drew

I mentioned this last night on the Game Wrap. Dude has absolutely killed at every level in the minors and last year was his first shot in the bigs. I think it was only because he had no position in the NL.

      • Zack

He’s killed, but he also has a horrible BB:K.
He was also on a few AL ball clubs, i mean give him 200 ABs and he’ll probably show why hes been down so long

  • http://bronxbaseballdaily.com Matt ACTY/BBD

Note: no more fastballs to Ruiz.

    • VO

What can I say, he’s proud of his fastball.

      • http://bronxbaseballdaily.com Matt ACTY/BBD

        /Flash’d

  • ShuutoHeat

Don’t feed Ruiz any FBs that’s the first rule in pitching to him.
He’s big enough to muscle his way through most fastballs.
He’s big+slow, can’t figure out any breaking balls.

    • Drew

IS there really that much of a book on him? He’s played about 23 games in MLB.

      • ShuutoHeat

Just watching the guy swing and my lil game intuition :P

    • ShuutoHeat

Ruiz reminds of some guy we used to pitch against for recreational league. Extremely big and slow, no one threw anything that was “straight” at him. If we walked him, then fine…he’s easy to erase from the bases because he’s slow.

    • Bo

You realize AJ has a world class fastball?

Stop making this guy out to be Pujols.

      Hes a career minor leaguer

      • ShuutoHeat

I’m not making him out to be Pujols.
But he’s just the type that CAN take your fast ball far.

If anything, give more credit to Pujols. He will take any of your pitches far, except for splitters according to some.
Ruiz only knows how to hit fastball, have you seen the guy swing at Joba’s breaking stuff? He was all over the place.

He’s not going to hit every fastball out of here. But give him a chance, he’d much rather see a fastball. AJ’s fastball IS good and he’s got some stuff. But, given the chance, Ruiz can smack it out of here. He did so with a fastball from Joba last night and he did it again today with AJ’s.

  • http://bronxbaseballdaily.com Matt ACTY/BBD

Joe Inglett is having the series of his life.

  • Dela G

this inglett guy seems to get on base too much for my liking during the past 2 series we’ve played

    • http://and-that-happened.blogspot.com Evan

He’s one of those feared #9 hitters.

      • Dela G

        like jim rice feared?

        • http://bronxbaseballdaily.com Matt ACTY/BBD

like jim rice Bernie Williams feared?

          Fixed.

          • Dela G

            IETC

        • http://and-that-happened.blogspot.com Evan

          Even more so. ;)

  • http://www.puristbleedspinstripes.com Rebecca-Optimist Prime

The Yankees have been killed this season by dudes named Ruiz…remember Philadelphia?

  • http://bronxbaseballdaily.com Matt ACTY/BBD

It makes you look gritty, Michael. That’s why people do it.

  • Drew

PastadivingJeter. HAven’t heard that much lately.

    • ShuutoHeat

      lol

  • Ghost of Scott Brosius

AJ just insists on not having a quick inning

  • http://bronxbaseballdaily.com Matt ACTY/BBD

There’s the Jeter range we’re used to.

    /being a dick

  • Ghost of Scott Brosius

Now that Gaudin’s scheduled to start, does that mean he can’t pitch out of the pen?

    • http://www.riveraveblues.com Mike Axisa

I think Girardi said when he starts will be determined by how if/how much they need him against out of the pen over the next few days. So I assume he’s available out of the pen.

      • Ghost of Scott Brosius

        Cool thanks mike

  • Dela G

    nice strike out AJ

  • Salty Buggah

Well, he got through that but 44 pitches through 2? Yea, he might need to be a bit more efficient to last 6.

  • Ghost of Scott Brosius

Oh no! Ian snell tomorrow! The potential savior of our pitching staff, coming to haunt us!

    • Makavelli

You know it’s bound to happen too…just a little poetic justice…

      • Ghost of Scott Brosius

He’s the kind of pitcher francesa will insist we never hit, ignoring the statistics. young, throws hard, never seen him, etc.

  • http://www.riveraveblues.com Mike Axisa

    Keep cloggin’ them bases Swish.

    • http://bronxbaseballdaily.com Matt ACTY/BBD

Passing the baton already and it’s only the second.

  • Salty Buggah

    Clog the bases Swish

  • Makavelli

    Blue Jays > Yankees ?

    • Drew

      Yes of course.

  • Drew

    Dang that was low

    • Makavelli

Eric Hinske. Would have been a ball if there was a superstar at the plate…

  • Salty Buggah

No King Felix and Washburn (who dominates us) in the Seattle series so thats good.

  • JSquared

wow, Romero just told Hinske to hit a homerun… and Hinske didn’t swing…

  • Dela G

    DAYUM hinske was fooled

  • Salty Buggah

I call a Melky DP here

    • Salty Buggah

good…but he swung at ball 4

  • Andy In Sunny Daytona

My Facebook friend, Kelvin DeLeon is hitting over .300 again. See what happens when you befriend Andy In Sunny Daytona?

    • Salty Buggah

still K’ing a lot, better get Ganesh to talk to him.

      • Andy In Sunny Daytona

Ganesh told me to tell him, “You must have the patience of the Cobra. Strike only when ready. And when you strike make sure you are accurate. Now, get me some peanuts.”

    • JSquared

      He has been beasting.

  • Dela G

why the hell did you swing at ball 4…

  • http://bronxbaseballdaily.com Matt ACTY/BBD

    That dive was Pedroia-like.

  • Ghost of Scott Brosius
    • Ghost of Scott Brosius

      not a real address

    • http://bronxbaseballdaily.com Matt ACTY/BBD

Pedroia is the head of that organization.

      • Ghost of Scott Brosius

I attended their fundraiser. Those little guys need the money more than I do

  • Drew

What’s the deal with JJ Hardy? I’m surprised the Brew crew demoted him.

    • http://bronxbaseballdaily.com Matt ACTY/BBD

And Bill Hall was just DFA’d.

    • Zack

      because hes sucked all year?
      they DFA’d Bill Hall too

      • Drew

I understand he’s had a horrible year. He’s been huge for them the past two years, why not leave him on the bench.

        • Zack

because putting him on the bench doesnt allow him to fix whatever is wrong with his swing

          • Drew

I guess. Generally major league hitters say that Minor League pitching doesn’t solve major league woes.

      • Ghost of Scott Brosius

All the sox fans were talking about getting hardy cheap on one of their blogs.

      • Dela G

i’m shocked they gave up on billy hall

thought they’d give him one more year

        • http://bronxbaseballdaily.com Matt ACTY/BBD

          He’s OPS’d .694 since ’07.

        • Zack

yea, they have to pay him anyways so why not.
plus they screwed him with moving him from SS-3B-2B-SS-CF-3B

    • zs190

75 OPS+. Still tremendous defender and 26, but they have a top prospect at SS so they are bringing Escobar up.

Interesting his line drive rate has declined every season so far

21%, 19, 17, 15, and now 13% this year. I don’t really know what it means (is it because he’s unlucky or there is a flaw in his swing?) but it’s interesting.

  • http://www.twitter.com/wahbjo01 Jordan

For someone that likes nothing but pizza and plain hamburgers, Michael Kay really likes to talk about food.

  • Salty Buggah

OK, nice quick inning here AJ

  • VO

    Crap

    • VO

At least now this can count as his day off. Right?

  • Dela G

    damnit, jeter is gone

good thing pena has good range

    • Zack

well that was expected with no off day and 7 hour flight coming up. he’ll get tomorrow off too

      • Dela G

        yeah true that

      • LiveFromNewYork

7 hours to Seattle??? Do they go through Alaska?

  • http://bronxbaseballdaily.com Matt ACTY/BBD

Until I hear more news about this, I will be a Nervous Nellie.

  • http://www.twitter.com/wahbjo01 Jordan

    Wonderful.

  • Yankee1010

What happened to Jeter? Is it from the HBP?

    • Dela G

      yes

    • VO

      From what we know yes.

  • Dela G

well there goes my comment about pena

  • Ghost of Scott Brosius

    Bring back teh cody ransom!

  • Bill R

They replace Jeter with Pena??? Then he doesn’t make the play! Thanks Joe!

    • Drew

      Ugh

    • Ghost of Scott Brosius

      sarcasm right?

    • http://www.twitter.com/wahbjo01 Jordan

Can we have a Damon appreciation thread one day? He deserves it.

      • http://www.twitter.com/wahbjo01 Jordan

        Reply fail, yet again.

  • JSquared

Hairston would’ve sacrificed his body… Pena, off to the side.

  • http://forums.projectcovo.com/images/smilies/e6omir.gif OmgZombies!

Pena who the hell is this guy!!!1!

  • Russell NY

Is Jeter done for the season?

    • Dela G

      no…..

    • Ghost of Scott Brosius

      Mo forbid!

    • http://bronxbaseballdaily.com Matt ACTY/BBD

      Bite your tongue.

  • JSquared

    Thank God.

  • Dela G

    EXCELLENTE DP!

    ON TO THE BOTTOM 3RD!

  • Russell NY

Gonna be a rough day for Burnett ugh. 7 outs on 51 pitches.

  • http://bronxbaseballdaily.com Matt ACTY/BBD

    A.J. <3 DP

    • http://and-that-happened.blogspot.com Evan

      Don’t we all?

  • Drew

Why did he Jorge call a fastball!!!11!! IT’S RANDY RUIZ!!!

  • http://www.riveraveblues.com Mike Axisa

AJ just said “Now to remind him he’s Randy Ruiz.”

  • Salty Buggah

thanks Ruiz. I heart 1st pitch DPs by our defense.

  • Bill R

Giving Tex a day off is going to Haunt us!

    • LiveFromNewYork

Do your friends call you Sally Sunshine?

STOP. Our players need days off. Period. End of story.

  • VO

    Is this question for real?

  • JobaWockeeZ

Wow dumb question. Even worse it’s going to be dominated by “no’s.”
Why is Joba’s cap so blown out of proportion? A lot of other teams do this with their starters, it’s not like the Yankees invented it.

    • http://bronxbaseballdaily.com Matt ACTY/BBD

Why is Joba’s cap so blown out of proportion?

      New York.

As to the other part, I remember an interview with Francona after CB’s no hitter and he said that he wasn’t sure if he was gonna keep Buchholz in because of a pitch count.

  • Drew

    JD is a monster

  • Bill R

    YEAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHH!

  • Dela G

    JOHNNY ROCKET!!!

  • http://bronxbaseballdaily.com Matt ACTY/BBD

    Awwww shit.

  • VO

    JOHNNY!

  • http://www.riveraveblues.com Mike Axisa

And to think, I said they should sit Damon today.

    • http://bronxbaseballdaily.com Matt ACTY/BBD

      You know NOTHING!

  • Andy In Sunny Daytona

According to fangraphs, that ball was only hit 34 feet, but the wind tunnel added another 350 feet.

    • Dela G

the home run ruiz hit was an infield single, but the wind tunnel added about 400 feet to it

    • JobaWockeeZ

Right. Every popup here is a HR.

  • Zack

    cheap HR? or legit?

    • Andy In Sunny Daytona

      2 Legit 2 Quit.

    • Dela G

      very legit

probably goes 340-350 if there is no facade on the second deck

  • http://bronxbaseballdaily.com Matt ACTY/BBD

Damon is making the LF decision harder and harder.

  • http://twitter.com/Hopjake Jake H

Damon playing for a new deal. How many years would you give him 2 with a team option?

    • JobaWockeeZ

      I’d give him one.

    • VO

1 Year team option for a second.

      • Drew

Why on earth would he take that? Coming off what is a career offensive year.

    • Bill R

Yeah I’d be willing to do that as long as Carl Crawford wasn’t an option.

    • Zack

1 with team option, no reason to give him more when no one else will

  • Makavelli

    Blue Jays > Yankees B-Team

    • http://bronxbaseballdaily.com Matt ACTY/BBD

      Is it opposite day?

      • ShuutoHeat

        It’s Bizarroooooo!
