  1. Drew says:

As to the Damon talk. No, there are not many better bats in FA this off season.

    • Ghost of Scott Brosius says:

Exactly. You really want to give that money to matt holliday? il pass

    • Moshe Mandel says:

Exactly. He could split time between left and DH- basically take the Matsui role but have the ability to play outfield.

      • Zack says:

i dont think thats the question. the question is that if “we are so going to pay him” was a smart move or not, and for how long, etc

        • Ghost of Scott Brosius says:

I dont think damon wants to leave. If we make him an offer thats relatively fair, hes not gonna jerk us around for more

          • Zack says:

“I fell in love with Boston so, hopefully, I’ll be here for a long time,” Damon said after the team’s season ended Friday with a 5-3 loss that gave the White Sox a sweep of the AL Division Series.

            • Zack says:

              Point: It’s a business

            • Ghost of Scott Brosius says:

Yeah but that was when he was a lot younger, he needed another big payday, and the sox completely undervalued him. and it was a totally different market. look at bobby abreu last year- you think anyone good is going to pay damon more than us?

              • Zack says:

“we are so going to pay him” is your original statement, and no i said no one is going to give him alot- therefore Yankees have the leverage to not ‘so going to pay him’

  2. Ghost of Scott Brosius says:

I think its time to buy the rangers as legit, at least when it comes to making the playoffs. Naftali feliz is filthy

  3. handtius says:

No Comments? Well, that Cano at-bad ended bad, but I thought he looked better, in that at-bat, then usual in base loaded situations.

  4. JMK says:

Why does CC do Subway commercials? He doesn’t strike me as the guy who thinks, “Man, I’m hungry. Oh, I know. Why don’t I get something nice and healthy? Subway? Subway!”

  5. JSquared says:

    Sick Changeup

  6. Tony says:

    I’ll say it:

Pull Sabathia after 7. His IP is ridic.

  7. Nels says:

CC has been good tonight, but I think a few of his pitches that Damon has caught in left would have been hit out in the new YS.

  8. Bugsy says:

I hope Branyan hits a HR here. It would do wonders for my fantasy team.

  9. Jordan says:

Why throw the changeup 3-2 up 8 runs if you’re CC, Flash? Because it’s been his best pitch this year.

  10. Andy In Sunny Daytona says:

Juan Heredia lowered his ERA to 0.32 for the year in the DSL, and St. Melvin picked up his 12th save.

    Juan’s stats:

  11. JSquared says:

    Sick Slider

  12. danny says:

    CC isn’t an ace!!!!!111!!

  13. Salty Buggah says:

CC only at 89 pitches, so he should come out again I think, especially since he’s has had almost all stress-free innings.

  14. Dela G says:

    damn CC is fucking filthy

time to take him out and rest his golden arm

  15. Dela G says:

Lol what the hell is a professional at bat

they are paid to bat flaherty

  16. danny says:

    whats CC’s PC?

  17. JGS says:

wow, I thought Ichiro caught that

  18. JSquared says:

    BOMB!!!

    Ichiro was too close… WOW!!

  19. Accent Shallow says:

Matsui loves LHP! And holy shit, Ichiro!

  20. Dela G says:

    HITDEKI!!!!

I TOTALLY THOUGHT ICHIRO CAUGHT THAT!!

  21. Salty Buggah says:

    MATSUI!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    Run-differential increasing!!!!

  22. Doug says:

Godzirra is destroying Tokyo tonight. There were no survivors.

  23. Zack says:

    DFA MATSUI!!

  24. Ghost of Scott Brosius says:

Poor hideki. No matter how much he hits, we won’t resign him

  25. Charlie says:

Fucking stat padder. looks like matsui’s been hanging around a-rod too much

  26. Dela G says:

Its funny, back in June, i was wondering why he was still in the everyday lineup

    oops

  27. putt says:

Jesus, just imagine if they Yanks played all their homegames in this effin bandbox!

  28. Ivan says:

Like Triple H would say, the yanks are “That damn good”

  29. Charlie says:

i’d get CC outta there. save his arm for when we need him

  30. Accent Shallow says:

I have to call it a night.

    Take it easy, all.

  31. Tony says:

No reason to leave CC in this game…

    GODDAMN GIRARDI

  32. Salty Buggah says:

Who’s been the best Japanese signing after Ichiro this decade?

Unless Im forgetting someone, I’d say Hideki.

  33. Charlie says:

damn it girardi, why leave him in? Flaherty is actually dead right for once

  34. acb says:

im guessing girardi wants to rest the pen and cc prolly wants to go 9

  35. Bruno says:

Has Cashman introduced Girardi to Gaudin?

  36. Ivan says:

CC just owned Saunders in that AB.

  37. acb says:

    someone wants 10 strikeouts

  38. Charlie says:

CC’s making everyone look silly, but i’d get him out of there. we need him to be rested for october

  39. JSquared says:

Haven’t seen someone make ichiro silly in atime… let alone he did it a bunch of times this game.

  40. Ghost of Scott Brosius says:

King Ichiro! Ten ks in style! This is what aces do people

  41. Dela G says:

    my god

    CC was dominant tonight

    10Ks and a lucky homerun

    • Scooter says:

      Looks like CC is done
His stuff seemed unreal in the 8th – no sign of tiring – and yeah, I don’t think I’ve seen Ichiro look that bad

You wonder if he told Girardi he wanted to go out for more.

  42. Salty Buggah says:

    :Standing Ovation:

    10 K’s bitches!

  43. Ivan says:

That last pitch to Ichiro was more nastier than a porno flick.

  44. Drew says:

Dang, don’t worry Melk, they’ll start dropping soon.

  45. AJ says:

we needed one of these games. Win one for Posada, Jeter and Mo.

  46. Salty Buggah says:

Matsui really has been around Alex too much. First the stat-padding. Now, selfishly, he got 2 plays of the game.

  47. acb says:

so how many homeruns do you think bruney will give up?

  48. Ivan says:

This is one of those games where the yanks are telling the M’s,
We’re better u, hit betta than u, pitch betta than u, field betta than u, get more hoes than u, get more than u, have more spansors than u, more good lookin than u, and I know it and u know and the whole fuckin world knows it.

  49. AJ says:

Who to drop in fantasy baseball: Ricky Nolasco, Edwin Jackson or Carlos Zambrano?

  50. Dela G says:

nice job molina getting that final hit!

  51. Salty Buggah says:

LOL at Kenny: “One last chance for the Mariners.”

  52. No Halladay says:

My son the Red Sox fan think that the Yanks are boring because they are too good. Back to the good old days.

    • Ghost of Scott Brosius says:

      How did that happen?

    • JMK says:

Your son is a Red Sox fan? How on earth is this possible? I should call Child Services on you.

      • No Halladay says:

Ironic, I’m a supervisor for Children’s Services in So Cal, my in laws are from Boston and he rooted for the Sox in 2004 because he wanted them to be happy and he stuck with them. I remind him that he was a big Yankee fan when he was young. One of those rebellion things.

At least he isn’t an Angels fan, all they do is bring up their one WE win like the kid that won a trophy in Little League.

    • Doug says:

dogg in this area you have failed as a parent. Perhaps it is not too late for you.

I say this out of love.

    • pete says:

i fucking love it when the yankees are boring.

  53. Ivan says:

I wonder if RAB gonna do that all Fantasy football season.

  54. Ghost of Scott Brosius says:

    11-15-0.

    1-3-0.

    Domination holmes

  55. No Halladay says:

Yanks are going on 72 wins, no one else in MLB has 70. Only 2 losses in August vs. 10 Wins. Yanks will be 6.5 up on Boston, 2.5 up on the Angels for home field advantage. Already have HF advantage for the World Series. This is shaping up to be a perfect storm for anyone wanting to take on the Yanks.

  56. Salty Buggah says:

WIN!!! Hairston looks like he’s happy to be on a good team.

  57. Dela G says:

    yanks win

  58. Charlie says:

good old fashioned beating that was, I approve. Lets hope for more of the same the next few games.

  59. Drew says:

Way to not ask a question, Gordon.

  60. Bugsy says:

No Kim Jones? B-Team Yes Crew.

  61. JMK says:

My favorite part is when they use Cano as a translator for Melky. They should be a comedy duo.

  62. JGS says:

    magic number = 42

  63. Charlie says:

i wish hideki would try interviewing in English, i bet he could do aight

    • Bugsy says:

      why does it matter?

    • Ghost of Scott Brosius says:

I bet hes pretty good, but its a japanese pride thing, they dont want to be seen at anything worse thatn ther best

    • Bob Stone says:

He is probably most familiar with only certain English words – those that are used a lot in porn films

      • No Halladay says:

Hope he knows the words “free agency”. I like his bat but those knees……painful to watch. After this year everyone will want to come to the Bronx. Damon I would bring back if he’d take a year with an option. With him I worry about PEDs. HRs rising in the late 30′s spells trouble.

        • Bob Stone says:

Agree completely on all points. But I do love to watch Hidekia hit.

        • whozat says:

Thing is, it’s not like Damon’s hitting them harder or further…they just moved the wall in and shortened the wall out where he naturally pulls lots of fly balls.

And he’s managed to avoid missing much time. So I don’t think it’s PEDs, but I do think that he’s a product of the park. And his D has gotten a LOT worse. If they think he can avoid getting any worse in LF, then a one year deal could be OK, but they’d need to get someone at least as good as Swish to add to the corner OF rotation, if Damon is going to the the primary DH and sometime LFer.

      • Scooter says:

Same ones Mary Carey is teaching the Melk-man no doubt

  64. Drew says:

    GORDON FAIL

  65. southeryankeefan says:

Hi had to use the computer at the bar to say this but cc is the man
