One more thread for good luck.

Bugsy says:

I fucking smell a win!!!!!

handtius says:

that’s actually flatulence.

Drew says:

8 inning CG’s are the worst.
Let’s make it 9 innings.

Bugsy says:

worse than hammering puppies with a spiked bat?

PinstripesForeverDougie says:

Oh, there’s nothing wrong with that Bugsy. People don’t care if you have any compassion or reason when treating living creatures. As long as you throw a football well, you’ll get a second chance ;D

there goes Robbie’s 14 game hit streak

Bugsy says:

the games not over yet

Danny says:

did anyone else groan when they saw that it was kenny and Flaherty again for this series? i dont mind kenny but when hes paired up with flaherty it is soooo boring, and having to here “he is proud of his (fill in the blank)” countless times a game can get god damn annoying.

k im done. lol

Bugsy says:

wait, you actually prefer michael kay? he makes things interesting?

JMK says:

Kay is fantastic. He says ridiculous things that are usually off-topic, botches calls, and has contempt for any team that is not the Yankees. He’s at least interesting.

Danny says:

i dont specifically prefer kay, anyone is better then flaherty.

Chili Davis says:

Absolutely. Flaherty is by far my least favorite announcer in the YES Network’s rotation.

THere needs to be some sort of penalty for being shut out by Brett fucking Tomko.

Salty Buggah says:

There is…it’s called a loss. :)

Karl says:

I can’t believe they couldn’t come up with a stinking run against these losers.

Bugsy says:

this guy is noxious. way too filthy.

JMK says:

Man, we were blanked. Against Tomko, no less. Well, I guess I’ll start drinking.

Zack says:

you watched Tomko shut them out without drinking? you’re a stronger man than i am

JMK says:

Light drinking. Some Negra Modelos. Now it’s Early Times whiskey time!

Salty Buggah says:

Melky hit it well twice today so Im hoping for a breakout soon. Our lucks needs to turn to normal and we win.

Bugsy says:

Danny says:

well….. that fucking stunk. lol

Bugsy says:

i’m gonna go watch a cheerful documentary about a “fixer”

Accent Shallow says:

Being up 7 1/2 games takes the sting out of this one.

However, having Tomko feel vindicated? Oy. Not as bad as Pavano winning a game, but ick.

Evan says:

At least we could say that the Yankees hit some balls hard against Tomko. They hardly did that against Pavano.

JMK says:

Eh, Tomko never seemed like a bad guy. I’m not cheering for him (he’s a skilled artist and his wife is HOT), but it’s not like Pavano or Jared Wright or Weaver.

PinstripesForeverDougie says:

“his wife is HOT”

Please explain with some photographic evidence!

Danny says:

yea, i’d rather loose to Bombko (can i even call him that now after this game?) over the American Idle any day.

but in reality this team should smash those losers, not the case today though.

Zack says:

Yea, but Tomko must have made a deal with the devil (no not scott boras), and now he wont have a good start the rest of the season.

Drew says:

Wow, was that the quickest game of the year?? like 2hours 10 minutes.

JMK says:

At least they made it a quick death.

Tom Zig says:

The offense looked really flat today

Drew says:

It’s easy to “look” flat when you don’t score…

handtius says:

yeah, except all those bullets that were hit, but were caught…those were…

Bugsy says:

it seems like when we lose we lose in bunches

Well, they got shut out. They obviously were not trying. No effort.

JMK says:

Too many Dominicans rubbing off the grit luster.

Salty Buggah says:

DFA EVERYONE! FIRE Girardi and Cashman!

Zack says:

they put it in cruise control

LOl. No heart. This team always just gives up. Lays down and dies.

Evan says:

delag says:

man that wasnt a fun game to watch :(

Danny says:

WTF!?!? what a crap game, cant even score off a bum, so annoying. Losing 2 in a row? What a group of failures.

/spoiled yankee fan

AJ says:

I hate staying up late to watching garbage baseball.

I think we need to factor in the travel here. Team went from NY on the 12th to seattle on the 13th to Oakloand on the 17th, no days off since the 3rd. Since the 3rd the team is 11-3.

Hopefully win the next two have a day off and go to Boston for 3. Oakland is also a crappy place to hit and it seems everthing hit hard was right at someone. Just one of those games.

No Halladay says:

BPen got a good rest, a blowout tomorrow would be even better.

JMK says:

We’ve got as good a chance as ever tomorrow with CC squaring off with a rookie (though Mazarro has good stuff).

No Halladay says:

Only 42 games left with a 7 game lead. Winning 110 games and winning the division by 15 games isn’t necessary. Winning 100 and winning by the current margin is about right. That still means about 18 more losses for the season. 13 more series and a couple make up games left in the season. A couple more streaks of 5-6 wins in a row in the near future would do it. I can’t see Boston making up that much ground unless they somehow sweep a sweries from the yanks.

PinstripesForeverDougie says:

Beware, about underestimating the BoSux. After Sept.17, the Roid Sux have the easiest schedule in baseball. In those 17 games, they only have 3 games of difficulty, which are against us, and every other of the 14 are as easy as it gets. I hope we have a large lead by then, because if its only 3 or 4- I fear greatly another Red Sox comeback. Sorry, I just can’t rest until we clinch this freakin division.

No Halladay says:

Losing two games in a row seems bad because the team only lost two games all month prior to these two. Four losses this month (one on the first day)= 12-4 for the month. Even .500 ball the rest of the month means 18-8 for the month, fewest losses in the month for the year so far.

Baseball is so much about patience, and October.

MLB needs to switch to a 7 games series for all playoff rounds. Makes no sense to have a 162 game season and an ALDS 5 game series. What’s two extra games after 162? I think the Yanks would have at least two more rings if the ALDS would have been 7 games.

PinstripesForeverDougie says:

I figure you’re refering to our 2002 & 2006 first rounds loses.

Still, I do believe if you’re good enough that the 5 game series isn’t as much of disavantage as everyone makes it out to be.
