i am praying with you that it happens

    • Bob Stone

      Amen.

  • The Fallen Phoenix

The Yankees will bring the winning run to the plate in this game.

    • Bob Stone

      Amen again.

  • Jim

and he’ll strike out looking to end the game.

    i love my optimism

  • Dela G

i can’t believe how lucky tazawa is getting

EVERY OUT (save jeter’s ground out) has been a crushed ball to someone

  • V

No, you’re wrong Mr. Axisa, because this game is OVER.

It’s OVER I said, why are you people still here? Turn off the blog, because the game is OVER.

    /Tank the Frank’d.

    • V

And if you disagree that the game is over, I’m going to threaten to beat you up!

      • Bob Stone

        oooh – Now I’m scared!

    • Spaceman.Spiff

Wow, you better watch out, he’s gonna smash you into the ground cause you wouldn’t dare say that to anyone’s face.

    • Tank the Frank

      You’re 17. Tops.

      • V

        Rofl.

    • http://www.riveraveblues.com Mike Axisa

Knock it off all of you, and act like adults.

  • Salty Buggah

I say the Yanks WILL win this game.

  • E-ROC

Hopefully AJ can give the Yanks those precious innings.

  • JMK

We’re facing TAZAWA! We’re not dead, yet!

    • trueblue

Unfortunately the Sawx are facing Burnett in fenway

      • JMK

Touche. He did pretty well last inning, though! Have hope, my friend. IT’S ALL WE’VE GOT (and a huge divisional lead, a nicer stadium, prettier looking women in our metropolitan area, etc,.)!!!

        • Marc

          And a better accent!

  • Bugsy

look at that, he can still get outs.

  • Tank the Frank
  • Jim

If the yankees win this game, i’ll donate $9mill to the V foundation

    • JMK

Monopoly money? Are those the blue dollars?

    • Accent Shallow

      Money for people?

  • Moose Balls

AJ is an absolute fuckin’ joke when pitching against the SOX in Boston. But for ONE good outing this year, he’s given up 20 fuckin runs in 10 innings in Boston. Thats totally unaccpetable. The only reason we signed him was to beat Boston. His body language is awful in Boston and it looks like he doesnt even care out there.

The only thing going for us is that we’ll have homefield advantage if we play Boston in the ALCS, so AJ can pitch in Yankee stadium rather than Boston. But for that one solace, I have zero faith in him pitching in Boston.

    • Jim

i agree. but i can guarantee u that 50 angry, flaming posts will follow this one

    • Bugsy

      go back to your cave

    • Salty Buggah

There’s so much wrong with this inane rant, I don’t what to say.

“The only reason we signed him was to beat Boston”

      yea…

    • The Fallen Phoenix

Really? Here I thought the Yankees signed AJ Burnett because he’s, you know, a good pitcher who they planned to deploy against every team in the league, not just Boston.

Hm. I’ve been wrong before, though.

    • DF

His body language? Seriously? I mean, he’s not even Dominican.

    • Bugsy

i wish you could see my body language

    • JMK

The only time his facial expression doesn’t scream “apathy” is when he’s giving the cream to his teammates on walk-offs. We didn’t sign him just to beat Boston. We signed him to be a front-of-the-rotation starter, throwing an ERA in the mid-3’s. Yeah, we expect him to play well in Boston because it’s indicative of a high-pressure capability, but that’s not why we sign guys.

It’s only been a few starts, and it hasn’t been encouraging thus far, but it’s a small sample size. We both agree that he has to pitch better though.

  • Dela G

i wonder if AJ could go 5 or 6

  • Jim

yeah dickweed, strike out the side when the GAME IS ALREADY OVER

  • Bugsy

that punk! looks like he was getting unlucky. yes, it’s known to happen in baseball.

  • Salty Buggah

Hey, if AJ keeps that up. He can go 6 innings!

    • danny

      whats his PC?

      • Bob Stone

        63 – 39 for strikes.

        • danny

thanks. hopefully he can give us 2-3 more innings.

  • Dela G

good to remember that curve ball is fuckin filthy

  • GG

come on Yanks, put some runs up!!

  • danny

well at least he combusted during the early innings so that we have time to come back, oh how kind he is

    • Dela G

      how brad penny of him

      • Bob Stone

        ietcvm

      • Marc

        +1000000

      • danny

        lol!

  • Jim

Wow, another unlucky out. That team actually catches routine shallow flyballs!!!

  • Jim

    *cough* melky *cough*

  • Salty Buggah

Oh noes, we’ll only have a 6.5 game lead IF we lose today!!!

    • Jim

i’ll go a little further and say we’ll only have 6.5 game lead after we lose today!!

  • Eirias

Late to the party (wake?) but let me just add a big fuck you to FOX for blocking the game.

    • Reilly

      Why’d they block it?

  • Jim

we just got tomkoed by tazawa

    • Bugsy

at least give it 5 innings

  • Dela G

so which inning do we score our first run?

    4th? 5th?

  • Salty Buggah

    Tazawa getting better now.

    • Zack

getting better? pop up, walk, and gave up a double to a lazy dominican

      • Salty Buggah

lol the last 3 outs before that were good but then I hopefully jinxed him.

  • Dela G

posada doubling his walk count for the month i believe

  • Keanu Reeves

I just don’t understand the rational of getting all worked up and angry over AJ blowing for the first two innings. Let’s remember that the Yankees are up 7.5 games for one. Two, sometimes, pitchers suck. I know he’s conveniently had two bad outings at Fenway this year, but we’re talking about a guy that has consistently kept the Yankees in games all year long. This is real baseball, not a video game. He won’t throw 8 shutout innings every time out. If they lose this game 7-0, it’s the same as losing 2-1 after AJ throws 7.2 innings of 3 hit 2 run baseball.

I direct this comment not at all, but at some.

    • Dela G

dude i def agree with you

    • Bob Stone

      I agree as well.

    • http://www.teamnerdrage.com leokitty

Because people like being angry and a lot of people care very much about the rivalry so AJ having a bad bad day gives them an excuse to be very very angry.

The first time AJ had a bad day like this versus Boston I myself was very angry but the team was in such a different situation then. I also hadn’t fully acclimated to the bad AJ showing up sometimes stuff.

      • Keanu Reeves

I do understand that for sure. I care about this rivalry just as much as the next person. But I guess I’m just confident that from what I’ve seen this year, AJ will give the Yankees what they need when it matters the most. And what that may be today is hanging in there even though he doesn’t have his best control and giving them 6 or 7 innings so they don’t have to burn the pen.

        • Salty Buggah

Or in other words, you are a reasonable fan that doesn’t jump off the ledge after everytime we lose.

          • Keanu Reeves

            Yes.

    • Riddering

Keanu, I never thought I’d be so impressed by your powers of reason but…WHOA!

I too felt that some people round these parts were under the impression that A.J. woke up this morning and decided to suck and keep his team from winning.

      • Keanu Reeves

        Morpheius taught me well.

    • Salty Buggah

      Wise men exist?

  • Bob Stone

    Let’s start scoring NOW!

  • DF

    Damn. Cano owns this dude.

  • Dela G

    CANO!

    finally getting a good double

  • danny

    cano lovesss fenway

  • Riddering

    Hinske homer?

  • Brazilian Yankee

We seriously can’t score a single run against Tazawa? This is embarrassing.

  • Bugsy

jesus christ, fuck mccarver for not failing to insist on an asinine comment about his mechanics. yeah, it’s moderately interesting just like how i’m moderately interested in the color of my shit.

    • JMK

Ever checked out the color of your shit on mushrooms?

  • Salty Buggah

see you negative posters, we’re hitting Tazawa well for the most part.

    • Jim

are u watching the same game that i am?

      • Salty Buggah

Yes but Im not an angry negative fan on the ledge.

  • charlespoet

Well those that are cliff jumpers, you are screwed now. 2 on 1 out…

    • Jim

      not any more

  • Bill R

    come on STINKSKE!

  • Bill R

How is this kids Curve ball that confusing! He throws 88!!!!!!!!!!!

    • http://www.teamnerdrage.com leokitty

Because curveballs are about break? I’m just shooting in the dark here.

  • Dela G

    damn you hinske

this is when i wish we had damon

  • Bill R

    (expletive deleted) you Hinske!!!!!

  • E-ROC

    C’mon Melkman.

  • Bill R

WOOOOOW ANOTHER FUCKING RUNNER STRANDED AT THIRD!

  • Jim

ROARRRRRR WE ARE GONNA COME BACK SCORE 10 RUNS AND WIN THIS FUCKER ROARRRRRRRR ROARRRR ROARRRRRRRRRR

    • http://www.facebook.com/dougchu Doug

      Try harder, James.

  • http://www.riveraveblues.com Mike Axisa

In other news, Eric Hinske is terrible in every aspect of the game. The worst thing he ever did was hit all those homers when he first showed up, because it tricked people into thinking he’s good. Me included.

    • Dela G

      +14

    • Bill R

He’s still better than Cody Ransom!

      • Accent Shallow

Yeah, but that’s not hard. There are hundreds of players in the minor leagues better than Cody Ransom.

Probably just about everyone in the majors, as well. Cody Ransom is dogshit garbage. He appears to be below replacement level on both offense and defense, which is tough to do — usually if you’re replacement level or below at one, you’re above at the other.

Thankfully, he’s not wasting a roster spot anymore.

    • JSquared

Yes, i always thought when a player was out, you would give up the offense for better defense. not downgrade in offense and defense…

  • Bob Stone

This sucks. I hope the Yanks didn’t use up their whole weekend allotment of runs last night.

  • djjd

    Melky is brainless

  • Dela G

HOW THE HELL ARE THERE ZERO RUNS ON THE BOARD??

  • JSquared

Hinske… see the ball, hit the ball, not swing and hope the ball hits the bat.

  • charlespoet

over anxious Melk chasing that first pitch. tsk tsk.

    • danny

he cant help it, his special powers dont work to the late innings :(

  • Riddering

    ….am I gonna hafta choke a bitch?

    BAD MELKYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY!

  • Brazilian Yankee

Somebody should remind our batters that they are not facing Nolan Ryan. It’s Junichi freaking Tazawa..

    • Bill R

Someone needs to Remind AJ he’s NOT Tazawa!

    • http://www.teamnerdrage.com leokitty

That’s true if they were facing Nolan Ryan they’d have a lot more baserunners.

They’re hitting Tazawa hard and many balls are finding gloves, it happens. It happened last week in the Tomko start, too. That’s baseball.

      • http://www.facebook.com/dougchu Doug

Tomko had only one swinging strike. Bizarre.

  • charlespoet

For those that are watching the game, was HBP no Tex in the 1st inning worthy of retaliation?

    • Jim

If me blowing on your elbow is worthy of retaliation.

    • JSquared

      no.

    • Bill R

No not at all, it barely hit his elbow

  • danny

nothing like a young chubby joba to make me smile during a (so far) crappy game

    • DF

I can’t believe that kid became a major league pitcher. He looks like the fat kid in Little League you stick in right field so he can’t screw up too bad.

Just makes me love Joba that much more.

      • danny

        i knowww LOL

    • Riddering

      +62

  • Bill R

So AJ decided to show up after he gave up 7 runs!

    • Bill R

      I guess he likes a challenge…………..

  • Dela G

man AJ could go 6 if he wanted to to lower that ERA

    • JMK

      Why not 7?

  • Bob Stone

I’ve never seen a first baseman run plays out to first as much as Teixeira has this year.

    • JSquared

First time in a while we’ve had a first baseman who could actually run.

  • Pastafarian

Fuck what happened to the team hitting .600 with RISP, and boy does AJ Burnett know how to pitch at Fenway alright…. striking out everyone and only giving up 7 runs!!!!!!11!!!1!

  • Riddering

Joe West is still going to screw us over for calls at home today.

    • Bob Stone

      I saw that too.

  • Dela G

Tex does nothing but gobble up balls

    • DF

      • Dela G

haha yeah i know, i opened myself up to that, but he gobbles up the ball on First better than anyone i’ve seen in a decade

        • DF

          Sorry man, couldn’t help myself.

    • Riddering
    • Salty Buggah

whoa I didn’t know that Tex rolls that way. I mean, he has a pretty good-looking wife.

      • JMK

Plus, she hates the city of Boston. Who could cheat on a woman like that?

      • Riddering

Well, we all know the Yankees are completely gay bones for each other.

        I blame A-Rod.

      • Dela G

        yeah shes a good one

  • Jim

are they allowed to let jesus montero chill in the dugout even if he’s not on the 40-man? just his presence will get us back in the game

  • Bill R

Can someone name me a game that the Yankees played this season on FOX that we didn’t get CRUSHED!

    • Lissette

CC v. Boston in New York….

    • Dela G

i swore last week CC beat clay on fox

    • http://www.riveraveblues.com Mike Axisa

They beat the Red Sox 5-0 the last time they were on FOX.

    • JSquared

3rd game at Yankee Stadium last Yanks Vs. Red Sox Series.

    • Riddering

Two weeks ago CC shut out the Sox on FOX.

    • Salty Buggah

last time we played on Fox (which was against BOS) we won. but yea overall FOX sucks ass for our luck.

    • Keanu Reeves

How about the last time the played the Sox on Fox (haha)? Sabathia was awesome and they won 5-0. I think that works.

      • Keanu Reeves

I was apparently very late to this party.

    • Bill R

      OK so one game?

    • Aaron Boone

Melky’s walk off single in a win against the Phillies. That was a fun one.

    • danny

i hate fox, just always gives me a bad feeling lol

  • trueblue

what a fucking joke- no runs. no fucking runs. this guy is 6 feet of shit and we have no runs. fuck!@

  • Jim

    isn’t dante like five?

    • Dela G

nah, dante is a teenager now

      • Dela G

        never mind

        looks like a teen

      • Jim

so was the announcer being sarcastic or what?

  • JSquared

Uh Oh… Pedroia didn’t get lucky, things are turning around.

  • Riddering

Jeter’s really sticking it to his little buddy this series.

    I like it.

  • Brazilian Yankee

It’s the 5th inning, are we allowed to score now?

    • Bob Stone

      Yes. It’s allowed now.

      • http://www.teamnerdrage.com leokitty

actually i just looked it up in the law books and they say no. :(

  • Bill R

I’d say come on Jeter lets get things started but every lead off batter is doing well its the rest of the losers after him!

  • Dela G

ok, i predict we score 2 runs this inning

    Jeter singles, tex home run

    • Eirias

      0 for 1.

      • Dela G

        yikes :O

  • charlespoet

So tomorrow nights game is on ESPN, so fan poll here.

Which is worse for Yankee fans.

    A) Losing any game by any score to the Red Sox
    B) Having to listen to John Sterling/Suzyn Waldman
    C) Having to listen to Tim McCarver
    D) Having to listen to Joe Morgan
    E) Having to listen to McCarver and Morgan back to back.

    • Bill R

      A!

    • Tank the Frank

      E. That’s what it’s like in the 9th circle of hell.

    • Dela G

      A for sure

    • Bob Stone

      A

    • Tony

      K) Listening to Michael Kay

    • Tony

      K) Listening to Michael Kay

    • danny

well we had to deal with E and A like what twice? and had a steal of home on one of those days, yeahh bad memories.

  • Salty Buggah

Take the 1st and 2nd innings out, AJ’s working on a perfect game.

    • Bob Stone

      That’s just great.

  • Keanu Reeves

    I vote E.

  • danny

did the Midget really deserve to win it last year?

    • http://www.teamnerdrage.com leokitty

he wasn’t a bad pick since there wasn’t a clear winner like pujols. it seems that most writers only look at playoff teams when that happens.

  • Riddering

I wanted that one to go out.

  • Bill R

    Tazawa = CY YOUNG WINNER!

    • Brazilian Yankee

That’s what the Yankees would like us to believe with this pathetic game today.

    • Salty Buggah

      /Gammons’d

  • Dela G

    damn

every fucking ball hit to someone

    incredible

  • Tank the Frank

Hey at least they paused the Red Sox drool fest for five minutes and gave Jeter some love.

    • Dela G

they are still slobberin on some red sox knob at the same time

  • Dela G

    cmon swish

  • Bill R

If we don’t score a run by the 7th we might as well stop watching. Paps isn’t giving up 8 runs no matter how much he sucks!

  • Bob Stone

How are the Yanks letting Tazawa pitch such a good game? How is this possible?

  • sam

who is this Cy young winner Tazawa?

  • Dela G

probably in the top 10 in defense?

he’s rated as the second best, isnt he?

  • Bob Stone

    Finally – Go Tex!

  • Riddering

    Now A-Rod homers.

  • Keanu Reeves

First thing I hear when I walk into the living room: my Dad yelling, “I can’t believe they aren’t hitting this Jap crap piece of shit pitching!”

    hahaha…

  • Dela G

    there you go tex

  • JMK

How does Rosenthal qualify as a journalist. In what parallel universe does he have any sense of integrity?

    • Zack

he lost all of it when he wrote that piece about AJ, ARod and Mo needing to get shut down half way through summer for major surgeries and all that other shit he wrote

      • JMK

He’s been bad for so long, we’re selling him short. But that was the tipping point, no doubt.

    • charlespoet

He works for Fox. Even the guy who changes light bulbs at night is called an Engineer.

  • Bill R

Yesterday we caught every break getting balls down the line staying fair, balls missing gloves. Today complete opposite. Balls going foul, Balls finding gloves! Red Sox clobbering us!

    • JMK

It’ll happen. Worst case they take two games and we’re still ahead of them in the division by a considerable margin. Not the worst thing in the world.

    • Salty Buggah

Yesterday we caught every break getting balls down the line staying fair, balls missing gloves. Today complete opposite. Balls going foul, Balls finding gloves! Red Sox Luck clobbering us!

      Fixed

  • Dela G

a-rod will look for that curveball now i bet

  • Bob Stone

    Yeah ARod

  • Bob Stone

C’mon Matsui – Hit one out against your conuntryman

  • Dela G

    a-rod is on fire

  • Bill R

    come on chop!!!!!

  • Bugsy

matsui’s got the japanese connection. i bet he could command tazawa to thrown a fastball right down the middle just with his eyebrows.

  • Accent Shallow

Speaking of Jesus Montero, think he’ll be going to AzFL? Romine is ticketed there.

  • Riddering

Matsui always looks bad when he misses.

I would like another homer from him though.

  • Jim

Tazawa’s breaking stuff WAS the best in the industrial league. Combine that with him being an amateur, and Theo Epstein KNEW he had something special coming his way.

    • Dela G

      agreed

  • danny

well i didnt want to get swept, so im happy that we won yesterday, i think whats getting people so aggravated is that this game feels like the games from April. and those memories tend to bring out the worst in yankee fans, i can only imagine whats going on over at Lohud.

btw the game isnt over yet ;)

    • JMK

Exactly. Servers are probably on fire at Lohud, cookies are being looted. It’s anarchy!

  • Bob Stone

    That was a ball!!!!

  • Salty Buggah

that strike 2 was inside…but oh well

  • Jim

There is a greater chance of Hurricane Bill making a direct landfall in downtown NYC than the Yankees winning this game ;)

    • Dela G

      dont be so sure

its not like this team scored 20 yesterday

      • Jim

it’s not like we’ve left 8 men on base and have just been totally flat all day. it’s not like boston’s bullpen is pretty decent when you get passed scrubs like michael bowden.

  • Salty Buggah

LOL Waldman said V-Mart has been using a “glove or mitt that’s been around the clubhouse”

need some laughs for this game

    • JMK

I don’t know how you can understand Waldman. She sounds like a Jewish American Princess, mixed with a pinch of downs syndrome.

  • Dela G

good job wearing this kid down

    • Bob Stone

      He’s up to 84 pitches.

  • E-ROC

    Damn!

  • YankeeScribe

Yanks can’t catch a break this game

    • Brazilian Yankee

They can’t hit mediocre pitches either.

    • Jim

i’m having a really hard time understanding how hitting weak popouts and flyouts and striking out is pure bad luck to some of the posters here.

not being able to catch a break and sucking with RISP are totally different things

      • Salty Buggah

“not being able to catch a break and sucking with RISP are totally different things”

        not really…

and we’ve had only 2 K’s and 2 groundouts with like 7 lineouts….don’t believe your selective memory

        • Jim

are you only following the game on Gameday?

          i don’t think there’s been 7 lineouts.

we haven’t been hitting the ball hard, high weak loopers right into the gloves of the outfielders (which could go either way as a flyout/lineout) are pretty routine plays. The tomko game u could make excuses for, we were hitting the ball crazy hard and a few missed a couple inches foul of being a double, etc.

          • Salty Buggah

no for the most part, we have hit the ball well. Tazawa got lucky with RISP

  • Brazilian Yankee

0 for 7 with RISP. Bad ol’ Yankees.

    • danny

if they were great all the time then it would be too easy!

  • Riddering

    Unbelievable.

I’m gonna punch someone in the face.

  • Dela G

    this is lunacy

the yanks need to crush this kid

    • Salty Buggah

well, we are for the most part hitting line drives but they’re not falling.

  • Salty Buggah

I guess when it rains, it pours (most of the time at least because somtimes it just drizzles, which is what I hope was happening today)

  • GG

    NYY: 6 hits 0 runs
    BOS: 6 hits 7 runs

  • No Halladay

I hate it when a team scores a ton of runs, almost guarantees that the team scores only a couple runs the next time out.

  • BigBlueAL

Forget bringing the tying run to the plate, how about just avoiding a shutout.

  • No Halladay

Big deal, even if the Yanks lose today and tomorrow the lead is still 5.5

    • Brazilian Yankee

So that makes it alright to lose?

      • No Halladay

Of course not, but don’t act like a little girl, you want a 10 game lead? Act like you’ve watched baseball before.

  • Bugsy

really, dazzling? i fucking hate everyone.

  • JobaJr

Only 4 more innings of pain.

  • Dela G

    tazawa has not been dazzling

he is not that good, the yanks just can’t find a fucking gap

    • Brazilian Yankee

You’re not going to find gaps with popups.

      • Dela G

yeah but how many pop ups do we have? maybe 3 or 4 max? most of the outs have been hard hit balls to people

      • Jim

I love you. some of these posters cant possibly be watching the game. there’s been maybe one hard-hit ball. the tomko game was bad luck. but they aren’t hitting anything hard anywhere. everything is routine…

        • Dela G

          thanks!…..

  • No Halladay

39 games left in the season, 6 weeks. Still 3 games v Boston in NY.

15-4 this month, maybe 15-5, relax.

    • Salty Buggah

Oh nevah!!!! we sucky, AJ cant pitch in Bahston, which is the only reason we signed him!!! This team cant hit bad pitchers and are supah dupah unclutch! We needs to win every game! I gonna jump off this cliff we have “only” a 6.5 game lead

  • Bugsy

where the fuck was all this like 3 innings ago?

  • Dela G

    boy AJ is dealin

  • Dela G

    throw fastballs by ortiz

    he can’t hit them

    • Dela G

yikes, as i say that, he hits one out

      • JMK

I hate to say it, but you’ve been terrible luck so far, Dela.

        • Dela G

yeah i need to go die

incredible how much i’ve sucked today

maybe i need to be DFA’d

          • Salty Buggah

3 times in 2 days…DFA’s for getting DFA’d that many times. So thats 4 in 2 days. ;)

            • Dela G

i still get the major league money for the rest of the season, right?

    • Brazilian Yankee

Really? I think he just hit one. But hey, good call.

  • http://www.facebook.com/dougchu Doug

    what the fuck

  • E-ROC

The Green Monster is reviving careers.

  • JSquared

nothing cheesy about this shot? nope, but a whole lot of steroids on it.

  • http://www.facebook.com/dougchu Doug

“Why? Why? Why? Why? Why would you throw that? Why?”

    lol

  • Salty Buggah

    Ortiz = Stat-padder!!!

  • Dela G

    man that sucked

i think the yanks offense will realize that they are facing tazawa soon

    • JMK

Please stop with your predictions! YOU WILL BE THE DEATH OF US!

/thinks you’re right and we get 2 runs next inning.

      • Dela G

a blind squirrel finds a nut, right?

        • JMK

          Is it winter yet?

          • Dela G

            no :(

  • JSquared

After the pitch is thrown, run to an open space, cause with boston;s luck, it’ll be hit to an open space.

    • Brazilian Yankee

Dude, stop with this luck thing. They are hitting balls hard off AJ, we are not. Sometimes it’s just that simple.

  • Jim

wait so who said we’d be winning this game?

  • Jim

wait so who said we’d be winning this game?

    • Dela G

      me :(

    • JMK

I said it’s not over and although it’s unlikely, we’re facing Tazawa and conceivably could win.

      DOUBLE OR NOTHING??!!

      Kidding. I’m wrong this time.

  • Brazilian Yankee

Do we have one starting pitcher capable of not shitting the bed in Fenway?

    • Dela G

CC did a great job in that game he lost the first time in fenway

its not his fault the bullpen blew that game

      • danny

        *remembers the pain*

      • Brazilian Yankee

Oh yeah, I forgot about that one. Good memory. CC better bring his A-game tomorrow.

        • Dela G

          i think he will

  • JobaJr

Once in a while every team needs to get ass whopped. Its alright. We’ll be right back in this tomorrow.

    • Jim

smack some sense into those lazyass fuckaz

      • No Halladay

If could could even play A-ball, which you can’t, then you still would have no qualifications to write that.

  • JMK

So this is what it felt like to be a Sox fan watching Penny and Bowden last night.

  • No Halladay

Well, this one is over. My advice is to go do something else. A loss is a loss, tomorrow is another game. You can all post about how you’re going to kill your pets or yourselves and all that. People that actually watch baseball know that one game means nothing. A 6.5 game lead toward the end of August, best record in the AL, best record in all of MLB, is just fine.

By the way, you’re not playing for the team, only watching them. When the Yanks decide to make deposits into my account when they win, or take money when they lose, then I still won’t act like some of the children on this site.

    • Jim

      chad gaudin has 3 testicles

      • No Halladay

Jim should know, he had them in his big mouth.

        • Jim

          no u didnt!!!

        • Riddering

No, that was the ball-gobbling first baseman.

    • Riddering

Let’s replace the fans with robots as well as umpires!

    • Salty Buggah

You’re completely right but those fans you are telling that to won’t listen and continue running in circles with panic. The snae ones know that. The unreasonable won’t (and doesn’t that make them unreasonable in the first place)

      • No Halladay

Sure, when clients act like clients…….Still someone has to make sense.

  • Brazilian Yankee

There’s another hard hit ball by the Yankees. Unluckily that popup didn’t find a hole.

  • Riddering

    Cano…waits?

  • Dela G

    cano is on fire

  • Eirias

How on Earth does a team score 9 runs on 9 hits, 2 walks, 0 errors, and 0 HBP? That is admirably efficient. (Bastards).

  • Moose Balls

The problem with AJ is that he only has 2 pitches. If one is off, the other team can just sit on the other one (i.e. exactly whats happening today since his fastball has zero command). Thats a very dangerous make-up for a pitcher. He needs to develop a 3rd pitch. You can only get the same team out on 2 pitches for so long.

    • Dela G

oddly enough, it worked 2 weeks ago against this exact same theam……

      • Brazilian Yankee

Yeah, but both pitches were working. And he was not pitching at Fenway, where he apparently doesn’t know how to pitch.

        • Salty Buggah

2 games tells you that? What about all the years before he dominated them there?

          :rolls eyes:

      • Salty Buggah

Cmon Dela, let’s not point out the facts. Our selective memories are more accurate.

    • No Halladay

Two pitches? Are you 11 or something?

    • Riddering

Well, he managed to do it his entire career as a Blue Jay.

And he’s faced division teams over and over again in Toronto and Florida while still holding up as an impressive pitcher. So.

  • Bill R

Well I guess when you throw up a 20 spot at the opposing teams park they come out swinging the next game!

  • bosox4liffeee

    Worried yet?

    • Salty Buggah

most of us, no. You guys confident yet?

  • Salty Buggah

I can’t wait to see what ESPN has to say about today. They are going to have a field day.

  • JMK

That ball girl is pretty cute.

  • danny

bard in a 9-0 game in the 6th?

    weird.

  • Moose Balls

And for those of you who disagree that the main reason we got AJ was b/c of his record against Boston – your all wrong. Do you honestly think we’d give AJ an 85 million 5 year contract if he got pounded by Boston and sported a 14.00 ERA (i.e. exactly what he’s throwin up this year)…ofcourse not.

Cashman went hard after AJ because of his record against Boston and his propensity to pitch well in “big” games – 2 things which he has been shaky, at best, during this season. Anyone can dominate the shitty teams, I want to see you do it against Boston and Anaheim.

  • djjd

How does everybody feel about Burnett’s performance this year? He’ll be 10-7 with an ERA over 4 after this game.

  • danny

lol when its not your day, it REALLY isnt your day.

  • Brazilian Yankee

There’s another hard hit ball that didn’t find a hole. Poor Melky, not his fault he hit a bad pitch and grounded into a DP.

  • Chofo

At leasts one runner in every inning and they can´t score?
