Game 123 Spillover Thread
The official forget all about that game open thread

The personal attacks and cursing at each other needs to stop now. If you’re not mature enough to handle a loss like this, I suggest you go elsewhere. We’re going to have to start banning people if it keeps up, and we don’t want to take that step.

  • Brazilian Yankee

Why is Aceves pitching in 9-0 game?

    • No Halladay

Does he need some work maybe? He’s a rubber arm too, Ramiro Mendoza’s clone.

    • danny

bc our bullpen is just THAT good.

  • JMK

    I missed it! What happened?

  • danny

    word.

  • GG

Do these guys know how ridiculous they sound, referencing a guy as a chapter president of redsox nation, what a joke

    • Riddering

When I tell people I’m the president of the West Michigan Dutch Yankee fan chapter, I get into all the hot clubs.

Don’t knock it til you’ve tried it, GG.

  • No Halladay

Like I said, go do something else 9-0 is over, yard work time.

And for those of you who disagree that the main reason we got AJ was b/c of his record against Boston – your all wrong. Do you honestly think we’d give AJ an 85 million 5 year contract if he got pounded by Boston and sported a 14.00 ERA (i.e. exactly what he’s throwin up this year)…ofcourse not.
Cashman went hard after AJ because of his record against Boston and his propensity to pitch well in “big” games – 2 things which he has been shaky, at best, during this season. Anyone can dominate the shitty teams, I want to see you do it against Boston and Anaheim.

OK, think about it this way….we gave a pitcher 5 years 82 million to beat one team that he pitches agaisnt about 3-4 times MAX in a season? How does that even make sense? Besides, 2 games dont tell you anything.

    • No Halladay

Exactly, he went after him because he was the best available after CC. Also it hurt rivals (Toronto didn’t get him back and Boston didn’t get him). I suppsoe we’d rather have faced him?

  • http://www.riveraveblues.com Mike Axisa

Does Melky ever make an accurate throw? Like, 1 in 20 are on the mark for him.

    • Salty Buggah

heh not really and he always takes too long to make the transfer to make the throw

  • Salty Buggah

    more 2-out runs, damn

  • No Halladay

Who dominates Boston or Anaheim? You’re asking for something that does not exist.

    • PinstripesForeverDouglas

Umm, the Rays have dominated the Red Sox for the past 2 years. Also, the Rangers have won this year’s season series and in the past the Blue Jays have beaten up the Saux as well.

And the Angels, as everyone knows, is actual property of the Red Sox. In fact, I hear they bring them in every October, to entertain the locals as they prep for their real competition in October.

  • Lanny

Burnett isnt a problem. Hes had 2 bad games at Fenway. It happens. Hes a much better get than anyone else on the market last yr. God knows signing Lowe like most here wanted would have been wasting money.

    • No Halladay

I wanted them to sign all three, glad they left Lowe alone.

    • Salty Buggah

Mark the calendars, I agree with Lanny!!!

      • JMK

        Yeah, same. Weird day, indeed.

    • Moose Balls

This is Burnett’s 3rd (not second) horrible game at Boston.

First one: 8 runs in 5 innings
Second one: 4 runs in 2 1/3 innings
Third: 9 runs in 5 innings

Why is anyone defending him here??? He has pitched atrocious against Boston, plain and simple. He needs to step up his game. Does anyone here actually think that AJ pitches good/great against all teams except Boston??? If he gets pounded in the playoffs against Boston (which seems like a real possibility) who gives a shit if he wins 20 games against everyone else???

Everyone knows that if you cant play well against Boston, you cant play for the Yankees. Why does this seem like “news” to everyone here.

p.s. I am not saying that AJ is awful and he can NEVER pitch well against Boston, but his performance this year against Boston has been nothing short of atrocious…Mitre can probably put up better numbers against them than AJ right now.

      • http://www.theyankeeuniverse.com/ Mike Francesa

        ATROCIOUS!!!!

        http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lrZSM–5T4o

YOUS MUST LIVE IN NEVAH NEVAH LAND!!!

      • Sweet Dick Willie

You do know that he pitched a 1 hitter against Boston 2 weeks ago. Right?

        • PinstripesForeverDouglas

it ain’t the same at Yankee Stadium, Sweet Willie. You can’t be serious to believe winning at the Stadium is the equalivalent of pitching well in Boston.

  • danny

    this game smells like poo.

  • Riddering

This week A.J. has been outpitched by Tazawa and Tomko. Poor guy.

    • Brazilian Yankee

Kinda hard to outpitch someone when you give up 9 runs in 5 innings.

  • No Halladay

Now it’s REALLY time to forget today. 12-0 means tomorrow the Yanks win 4-1.

  • Brazilian Yankee

Aceves really forgot how to pitch. This day just keeps getting worse.

  • E-ROC

Give us 2 or 3 innings, Aceves!

  • The Fallen Phoenix

It’s going to be so sweet when the Yankees come back from a 12-run deficit.

    …I hope.

    • No Halladay

IF they did come back it would be a crusher. I’d love it but thats too much to ask for. IF a team COULD do it it would be this one. It would take one of those 45 minute at bats with a bat around.

  • Riddering

Ace, why you gotta break my heart? Who stole your gangster?

  • Salty Buggah

    stat-padders in Boston

  • JSquared

STAT PADDERS!! not letting bench players get at bats, do you want a shut out that bad? is that all they care about, is that going to get their self esteem back.

  • Tony

Ortiz hit Posada in the head with a baseball bat. Take this MFer out.

    • Riddering

      SOMEONE CHARGE THE PLATE!

      • Tony

Bring in Bruney and have him start throwing at people’s heads. He’s not good for anything else at this point.

  • danny

    stupid ortiz

  • Lanny

Aceves had his nice run but hes mop up material at best now. That spot start really screwed him up.

Think about that when you ask Hughes to build up innings.

  • http://www.facebook.com/dougchu Doug

Now they’re trying to give Po a concussion! LEAVE HIM ALONE YOU JACKALS

  • JSquared

I think Aceves needs an extended period of days off.

  • Salty Buggah

I can imagine all the headlines and stories about how Boston has heart and came back to fight after getting routed yesterday (in which they never gave up)

  • JSquared

Youkilis high fives like a girl…

  • Riddering

    Bard?

    Yay!

  • Salty Buggah

From PeteAbe but updated by me: Yankees have been outscored 87-39 on Fox this season in eight games. They’ll be 2-6 after this loss.

    • http://www.riveraveblues.com Mike Axisa

      HE called Burnett’s outing “mortifying.”

Mortifying, really? A little extreme, no?

      • Salty Buggah

Oddly, that’s what I was thinking about when I posted that. Yea, it was a bit extreme but I suppose it somewhat makes sense for him since he has to sit there for the whole game.

      • JMK

I think it’s a bit extreme, yes. But just out of curiosity, what would qualify as “mortifying” for you? 8 ER in 3 innings?

      • http://www.theyankeeuniverse.com/ The Artist

I would have went with “Stupefying” or “Mystifying” myself.

But then again, who gives a fying fluck what I would have went with.

  • Mike in Florida

Let it go, just like Boston did yesterday. It is 1 game, so what. Tomorrow will be tough with Beckett, but we have CC, so we could still win this series. It is all good. The main thing was for us not to get swept in Boston and we have already accomplished that.

    • Salty Buggah

      exactly

  • No Halladay

OK, here comes the charge back!!!! Yanks win 13-12 in extra innings. The absolute crusher that finishes Boston off for the year.

  • Riddering

Girardi clearly hates Jeter and wants his hit-streak to end.

    Bad manager!

  • http://www.riveraveblues.com Mike Axisa

    Heh, Dan Bard still sucks.

  • Salty Buggah

    SWISHA!

  • http://www.facebook.com/dougchu Doug

    SWISHAHOUSE

    fuk yo couch daniel bard

  • E-ROC

There goes the shutout! Awesome! :)

  • Salty Buggah

    our comeback has started

  • Salty Buggah

LOL, is Molina going to play 3rd now???

    • Salty Buggah

which sucks as I’d love for A-rod to pad his stats against TEH BARD.

    • Riddering

Molina batting fourth…is that the craziest thing to happen so far this season?

Or does Swisher’s scoreless inning still take the prize?

      • Salty Buggah

Hmmm, good one. I’ll say Swish’s scoreless inning.

      • Tony

How quickly we forget Mo’s AB vs. KRod

        • Salty Buggah

          ooh that too

        • Riddering

          True, true.

There’s been a lot to make me crack up this season.

  • http://www.riveraveblues.com Mike Axisa

    Jose Molina … third baseman?

    • JMK

Can he jump as high as Ransom?

      • E-ROC

        Can he jump at all?

  • Johnny

I just want to put this out there and see if it doesn’t help cheer us up a bit.

What’s the best part about seeing a hot chick in a sox hat?

You know that you can pay for your blowjob with a 20 and have enough left for a half way decent steak dinner.

    • Salty Buggah

Well, they’re easy to pickup for the most part

    • No Halladay

Yeah, that’s great. Remember you’re the one that called her “hot”. Glad to see your standards are high. The fact that you have to pay for one says it all.

      • Johnny

relax buddy, just trying to lighten the mood/lower the bar. I’m not actually running around buying hookers.

        • JMK

But if you’re ever curious, I know a few good spots to grab some. Let me know.

    • http://www.theyankeeuniverse.com/ The Artist
  • Riddering

A-Rod better watch out. Molina could take his job.

  • E-ROC

Molina is gonna be good at third.

  • Salty Buggah

Someone please bunt to Molina, I wanna see him make a charging throw, which is what he’s good at.

  • Tony

    Molina’s groin/hamstring implodes in 3… 2… 1…

  • Salty Buggah

    It’s Molina’s MLB debut at 3rd? wow

  • DreDog

The day is coming closer to an all Molina team.

    • JMK

      Haha.

    • http://www.theyankeeuniverse.com/ The Artist

Even John Sterling couldn’t screw that one up.

“aaand the pitch from Molina. . . Ball is hit to Molina, who throws it to Molina. Two outs.”

      • Dela G

        hahaha

  • JMK

That Sox’s pitcher’s face is all smooshy.

  • http://www.theyankeeuniverse.com/ The Artist

Burnett’s outing today was clearly a result of Posada’s game calling.

    • Riddering

That and Cody Ransom kept texting him between innings 1, 2 and 5. What a creep.

      • http://www.theyankeeuniverse.com/ The Artist

When Jorge calls for a pitch, he might want to use signs. Continuously screaming it to AJ seems to tip off the Boston hitters.

  • handtius

I’m so glad I had shite to do today. this one is like peeling duct tape off your leg (if you have hair on it) really slowly.

  • DreDog

I hate to bring this up, but maybe RAB can sponsor a boxing match for all the tough guys out there.

  • Dela G

tomorrow, i guarantee we beat beckett

not the bullpen, but beckett himself

i know ive been off today, but CC will do as good of a job he did his first outing at fenway, when he was ILLY. Don’t forget the bullpen blew it, not him.

  • Dela G

    robertson comes in throwin strikes!

  • Riddering

    Papeldouche warming up?

Clearly, Boston wants us to score some more runs.

  • Dela G

kotchman didnt give up anything you moron by coming to the red sox

  • http://www.facebook.com/dougchu Doug

    Even Robo’s getting shelled.

  • Dela G

    boy this will not end

  • JMK

It really has been the 2-out runs that have been killing us. Since the White Sox series it’s been our death knell in losses, albeit, there haven’t been many of them.

  • Dela G

    thank god

    its almost over

  • paulc

    hate the losing…but when you give up 13 runs with 2 outs…geeez….RISP 7 for 11 compared to 0 for 8…ugly today…

  • Dela G

    nice job jerry!

  • http://www.facebook.com/dougchu Doug

PAPELBON IS CINCO OCHO YOU GUYS

  • Bob Stone

Mercifully . . . this is nearing an end.

  • sam

13 out of the 14 runs by the sox came with 2 outs
    wow

  • Riddering

Great, now ESPN is going to replay that catch all night for tomorrow’s game.

    • http://www.facebook.com/dougchu Doug

      It was HISTORIC

      • Riddering

Ellsbury plays all out, no matter the score.

Not like those lazy, pampered Yankee outfielders.

  • Dela G

hahahahahahahaha at the yankees suck chats

look at the fucking scoreboard you schmucks

    7.5 game lead still

    • Bob Stone

      uhh . . . make that 6.5

      • Dela G

i typed that during the game… so it was still 7.5

        • Bob Stone

          Understood

          • Dela G

            :)

        • Bob Stone

          icwudt

  • Bob Stone

The Yanks have played so well that you never expect a loss like this. But that’s baseball. Strange games happen all the time. It’s still been a great season so far. I wouldn’t be surprised to see the Yanks beat Beckett tomorrow.
