    Swish helped.

  2. yankeefan91 Arod fan says:

That was a nice play by Swish.

  3. Bob Stone says:

Great catch Swish. I was holding my breath the whole play though.

  4. VO says:

Sorry Mike, Ben, Joe for repeating this but I really need this fixed and I asked it right before the thread closed.

“My computer has some sort of virus and a fake blue screen of death is popping up like the one below. I have no idea how to fix this. Anyone?

  5. Rangers: Man, give me your fruit cocktail.

Red Sox: Well, l can’t. If l did that, then I’d have to give it to you every day, and I won’t get all my vitamins.

Rangers: DO YOU KNOW WHO YOU’RE DEALING WITH?!?!?!?

Yankees: Chill, Nasty Nate. That’s my bitch. Anybody gonna stab him, it’s gonna be me. You got a problem with that ?

Rangers: Watch your back, Fish, ’cause Squirrel Master ain’t gonna be there for you all the time. ‘Cause next time I come for you, I’m gonna want some cocktail– FRUIT!

Red Sox: Take it! I’M SOMEBODY’S BITCH!

  6. Drew says:

Where is Nady? I figured he’d chill with the team in the dugout occasionally..

  7. Jamie says:

Am I the only one who thinks Cano has ADD?

  8. Accent Shallow says:

Robbie, come on. That was Melky-esque.

  9. JSquared says:

    Norton free trial

    microsoft One Care

  10. JMK says:

Does Melky swing at planes flying overhead too?

  11. E-ROC says:

    Cano = Melky 2.0

Melky = the originator of swinging at eye-high fastball

    lol.

  12. Drew says:

Molina’s face sort of looks like Alf.

  13. The Artist says:

    Beckett’s last 2 outings:

    IP-13.1
    H-18
    R-15
    ER-15
    BB-3
    SO-6

Beckett’s wearing down again, or so I hope but its admittedly too soon to tell. The lack of strikeouts jump out at me as much as the Runs scored. I think Theo planned on having his all powerful ‘depth’ to give him a blow around now, but as we all know that didn’t pan out.

  14. MikeD says:

When’s Derek going to walk again?

  15. King of Fruitless Hypotheticals says:

    FFS please NO MO!!!

  16. MikeD says:

When’s Derek going to see a second pitch in an AB?

Never mind. Whatever he’s doing, it’s working.

  17. Salty Buggah says:

I can imagine what the ESPN guys will say.

“Beckett wasn’t good and got unlucky with all the HRs but he is a gritty underdog who pitched 8 innings to save his bullpen to help win in the future. It was a fluke and he’ll be good next time. CC was shaky but got lucky by getting out of jams as the Sox could not have any hits drop in. This is a concern as he needs to earn his paycheck.”

Also, be prepared for remarks about how our offense relies too much on the HR.

  18. E-ROC says:

Lol, I thought Steve Phillips was about to mention grit when he started rambling on about giving credit to Beckett.

  19. yankeefan91 Arod fan says:

Malwarebytes’ Anti-Malware is preety good to

  20. Zombie Bugsy says:

is matsui gonna hit 30 hr? who would’ve thought that at the beginning of the season

  21. adeel says:

anybody watching this game at work?

  22. The Artist says:

Since were talking computers, I’m thinking of getting a phone+notebook package with a new cell phone plan (ATT). Any comments pro or con?

  23. Drew says:

Where the fuck did that miss

  24. MikeD says:

Mo at Fenway, and in a non-save situation. Not liking this.

  25. danny says:

    come on Mo!

  26. Jackson says:

Well you don’t see that very often

  27. Tank the Frank says:

    VERY un-godlike.

  28. Gah, come on Mo. Settle.

  29. Salty Buggah says:

Is Joe Morgan yelling about pinch-hitting JD Drew for Baldelli even though Rocco’s AVG is higher than Drew’s? He doesn’t believe in those things I thought.

  30. Tom Zig says:

What is this 4 pitch walk nonsense. Shake off the rust, Mo

  31. Zombie Bugsy says:

non-save situations brings out the worst in Mo

  32. Johan Iz My Brohan says:

Mo is trying to make this a Save situation, that is why he walked Drew, duh!

  33. Riddering says:

I’m sure Girardi is terrified of the lurking Ortiz.

  34. MikeD says:

    Mo-zone more accurate than K-zone.

  35. JSquared says:

i like how they K-Zone the Yankees pitchers when the pitches are balls, K-Zone’d Beckett once, made sure it was a strike…

  36. Drew says:

I love how some people are worried with Mo on the mound.

  37. danny says:

LOL its mo, the normal strike zone does not apply

  38. adeel says:

varitek looked like a school girl

  39. Accent Shallow says:

    Kotchman sighting instead of Ortiz?

    Heh.

  40. JSquared says:

I’m pretty sure jon lester just likes men in his house…

  41. MikeD says:

    Where the hell was that?

  42. Mike Axisa says:

Question for all the Mac users … I have a PC now, have my entire life, but my next laptop will be a Mac. Am I shit out of luck with all my files – Word docs, Excel spreadsheets, etc – or is there a way they can be transferred?

  43. King of Fruitless Hypotheticals says:

Mo intentionally making him foil off his foot!

You know when Boston is surprised it isn’t a strike it’s gotta be close…

  44. E-ROC says:

God no, Jon Miller! Quit singing!

  45. Drew says:

    Is Jon wasted? lol wth

  46. danny says:

i dont give a SHIT about Joe West, how about the game?

  47. Doug says:

    Miller: *sings*

    Morgan: “It’s only 8-4, Jon.”

    BURRRRRNNNNN!

  48. Umpire’s definitely got dinner plans.

  49. Zombie Bugsy says:

i cant wait to watch madmen. i remember when the show first came out i though it was my little secret. now the whole country watches that show. bah!

  50. Accent Shallow says:

    Yay Mo! Yay win!

    Yay 2 of 3 and a 7.5 game lead!

  51. Slugger27 says:

    BALLGAME

  52. E-ROC says:

    Ellsburried by a cutter.

  53. The Artist says:

I like this Mariano kid. I say we let him keep his job for a little while.

  54. adeel says:

Assuming we win this game…. HOW MANY people out there secretly wouldn’t mind us loosing to the rangers??

  55. BXBomber says:

    Bong!!!

    Nice win tonight….

  56. Mike Axisa says:

Beckett’s first loss at home this year.

CC leads the league in wins.

  57. Salty Buggah says:

    SIT DOWN TACOBY!

7.5 lead…mission accomplished and then some for this series!!!!!!!!

  58. danny says:

    YESSSS, love you Mo.

can you tell the announcers are soo happy the yanks won :)

  59. Bob Stone says:

Great game. Great Series. Red Sox are done. Yankees have locked up the Division Title.

  60. MikeD says:

YES is running a post-game tonight, in case anyone is interested.

  61. Tom Zig says:

What was billed as a pitcher’s duel turned into a slug fest

    you can’t predict baseball

    /John Sterling’d.

  62. Ksturnz says:

nice, now let’s take care of the rangers, and keep that homer lead

  63. Drew says:

Kudos to YES for having the postgame.

  64. danny says:

    Post game on Yes

  65. Kevin G. says:

CC Sabathia: 20 game winner? Or is it too late?

    I’ll go with the latter.

  66. Tank the Frank says:

Are those 5 HR by Beckett a career high?

  67. Accent Shallow says:

SportsCenter stat: the 15 Yankees-Sox games this year have taken 56 hours to play.

  68. Bob Stone says:

Fun watching the NESN post game show. BoSox are definitely disheartened after this weekend. The Yankees have broken them.

  69. danny says:

we have an off day tomorrow? BOO.

  70. JSquared says:

What’s the pitching matchup for the Boston vs. White Sox Series?

  71. Tom Zig says:

Mo didn’t get a save, did he?

  72. Bob Stone says:

    Contreras vs. Buckholz
    Garcia vs. Lester
    Floyd vs. Wakefield

  73. I know that UTP was great for Bruntlett and all but how fuckin’ lucky did Lidge get there? He has been shitting the bed all season, huh?

  74. Ubaldo Jimenez will be a sexy fantasy pick next year.

  75. Tony says:

    Next week’s talking points:

    Jeter MVP
    Jeter best SS ever
    CC Cy Young

    • DreDog says:

No Smoltz? Just to shit on Theo some more?

    • DreDog says:

No Smoltz? Just to shit on Theo some more?

    • PinstripesForeverDouglas says:

My preliminary answers to your arguments are:

1)-No, Writers hate Jeter too much to ever give it to him. Plus, Texiera probably cancels him out. Oh, and that Mauer guy.

2)- Perhaps, I won’t be surprised in a few years when the whole country is honestly considring it. To be fair, I think most of us here in the Universe recognize him as a top five shortstop already.

3)- Not at the moment, Yet he might become the most fascinating debate we have around here over the next month. He is already in my top five- 1) Verlander, 2)CC , 3)Halliday, 4) King Felix, 5) Feldman- my dark horse

Have a good night River Avenue :)

  76. danny says:

7-3 road trip that included a west coast trp. DAYUM.

  77. Tom Zig says:

Posted this above as a reply by accident, I’ll put it here.

Anyone reading over the live chat of tonight’s game? silly comments over there. Someone suggested giving Matsui a 2-3 year deal

  78. Dela G says:

    what a great fucking win

    beat the shit outta beckett

    • DreDog says:

This is good. very good. The Sox are falling apart. Now if Papeldouche continues to talk about Wagner, they might become disfunctional too.

    • PinstripesForeverDouglas says:

This is all I ever wanted from this team this month. That we could beat the Saux in these two pivotal August series and they have probably decided the division as well.

Still, most importantly the boys in navy blue pinstripes have proven they have transformed into a far better team- a true contender in October!

Also, I know no one will ever believe me, but I always thought we were gong 6-1 in this month againt the Saux. I just figured once we broke down that 0-8 barrier, we were going to show how great we truely have been since A-rod’s return in early May in Baltimore. Of course, I did predict we would sweep them here and win 3 of 4 at the Stadium. Guess I was looking in the magic crystal ball from the wrong angle.

Finally, I also did predict we would each of these final three series and I think we will take 2 of 3 in Septemeber to finish up with my overall prediction of 8-2 in the final 10.

And now I predict it’s time for me to calm up ;)

  79. Drew says:

Lol at Rice saying he wasn’t talking about Jetes and Al even though, he directly and irrefutably, was talking about about them.

Someone needs to tell him that sticking your foot in your mouth doesn’t mean you were misquoted, it means you’re an ass.

    • PinstripesForeverDouglas says:

Jim Rice has lost all the good will his buddies in the media processed for him. Everyone always thought it was the media’s fault for Rice’s exclusion into the HOF. But for the first time in my life, I have to side with the writers who always stated how awful a man he really was in private. To hell with you Mr. Rice. You lost many of your fans, forever.

      • Zack says:

“You lost many of your fans, forever.”

considering most (all) of his fans are Red Sox fans, he didnt lose any. and even some local media fans of him are just saying yeah he was misquoted
