Montero not going to Arizona? I would assume he still is, no?

  • Salty Buggah

Only 1 hit for JR?!!! BUST!

Also, what’s up with Checo not having any control? I hope he gets it because he has good stuff.

  • Johan Iz My Brohan

Slade Heathcott get some games in you bum!!!

  • Brandon

Where the hell is Slade? What happened to Murphy and Heathcott getting into games this weekend? Murphy’s played 3 games since he signed. Heathcott? None. If he isnt even in Florida yet, it would say wonders about his work ethic, IMO, and would make me question giving him 2.2 mill. I hope hes there on Monday…

    • RalphieD

right..because you know EXACTLY the situation…get a clue

this slade thing is gonna turn into the lazy cano debate…silly

    • http://www.riveraveblues.com Mike Axisa

He is in Florida. Andy in Sunny Daytona saw him hanging around the complex when he went to see the GCL team last week.

      And you’re WAY overreacting.

      • Salty Buggah

        and that’s an understatement

I hope that this comment was written in jest.

    • K.B.D.

Slade is white, therefore his work ethic is unquestionable. If he were latino of some sort (I don’t care, any old variety will do), you’d have a case.

      • Henry

Are we really bashing them for not playing these rooks? Patience people.

“Kevin Mahoney: 0 for 0, 4 BB, 1 HBP – passing the baton”

Awesome batting line. Nick Swisher would be proud.

  • Jim

Is it safe to say that CONTROL TOWERS is back?!?!?!

  • Henry

Sept 1 call ups that will help:
    S Duncan
    Melancon
    Pena
    Alby

    • Jeffrey

Edwar Ramirez: Gives them another arm.
Kevin Cash/Frankie Cervelli: Both give them a third catcher allowing Posada to DH and get more rest.
Juan Miranda: An extra lefty off the bench. Wonder what he could do with the short porch.
Kevin Russo: I’d like to see him on the 40-man roster so he can be called up. Gives the Yanks a utility guy or can give Cano a break if needed. Be interesting to see what he can do in MLB.

Austin Jackson: Should he be called up? Would be nice to have an extra OF a little more capable than Hinske/Swisher for defense late in games. He also has speed.

      • Matt M.

…and who is coming off of the 40 man roster so that we can have a 3rd utility player on it??

i think hariston and pena will be enough to spell our infielders. you dont want to completely mail it in and bench a rod, jeter and cano all on one day.

        • Jeffrey

Nady and Wang simply have to shift to the 60-day DL which frees up 2 spots. If the Yankees wanted to they could drop Miranda from thr 40-man roster. They already have plenty of people who can play 1st base.

          • http://www.riveraveblues.com Joseph Pawlikowski

Don’t listen to the official site. They’re on the 60-day.

            • Jeffrey

I thought they were on the 60-day. They need to update the site.

      • Bill O

Russo won’t be called up they’ll let him get regular playing time and play in the AAA playoffs. With Pena and Hairston we’ll have enough backup INF. Plus I don’t think they have to add him to the 40-man roster this offseason, so they’ll probably just wait to add him as they team will have to add guys like Nova, Corona, Whelan, and Horne this offseason to protect them from the Rule 5 draft.

I think Towers could get called up though. If Mitre continues to be terrible we may move him to the bullpen and give Towers a shot in the rotation.

  • Doug

I was in Hudson Valley and they hope to play 2 starting at 1pm tomorrow. Field was unplayable tonight.

  • Jeffrey

Is it more important for Kroenke and Dunn to get work in the AFL than get called up in Sept? They are both lefties. I would think Dunn (15 IP in AAA) needs the work more than Kroenke (61.2 IP in AAA).

    • Bill O

With Marte up we probably don’t need either of them. Dunn should go to the AFL but Kroenke probably needs major league work if some is available.
