Saturday white sox starter against just got a whole lot better: MLB network is reporting that Ozzie is replacing Saturday's original starter, Jose Contrares, with Jake Peavy! Don't know what the Yanks will be facing with Peavy's 1st start in months but I know it will be better than Contreras. Also, it seems that evil troll, Ken Rosenthal, is reporting that Billy Wagner has declined the waiver deal between the Mets and Red Sox. Which I guess is a good thing for us. Masterson served as a longman/swingman. He was similar to Aceves or Hughes in that he could start or relieve. That trade took an arm from their pen and/or rotation. I think Masterson would have been starting for the Sox now had he not been traded. They would have had Beckett, Lester, Wakefield, Masterson, Tazawa, Buchholtz, Penny.
