who would use hughes right here and marte in the 8th? that seems like a no brainer to me but i guess your better reliever have a strict 8th and 9th inning role. fucking stupid.
I really think that Girardi is doing this to build up Bruney’s confidence. These games don’t really matter that much, but having a confident and effective Bruney would be huge for the playoffs.
Of course, if Bruney fails a couple times it could completely destroy him, but I’d rather have that now than in October.
Don’t go all Bill James on us here and suggest something logical. Michael Kay says that certain pitchers pitch in certain innings and that’s the way it shuld be.
I think of this every time my wife complains about being exhausted about her hour and a half train ride, and yet wants to by a house FURTHER AWAY from the city.
I think the train is the more common method of transportation in the East Coast/NY area. I don’t know about GCS, but smaller train stations that all connect to GCS aren’t bad, they’re peaceful for the most part. There is always a lot of construction though imo, which makes driving difficult at times, but it isn’t too bad (I’ve had my license for about a month now…)
But guys, it wouldnt have mattered if they scored anyway. Runs only count in the 8th inning, remember? That’s why Hughes didnt come in to that 2-on, no-out situation.
We got into trouble because a pitcher who would NEVER pitch 6+ innings in October pitched 6+ innings tonight. And then three pitchers who we’d count on coming into a sticky situation and thriving came into a sticky situation and thrived.
You mean, other than the fact that the entire philosophy of relief pitching is ass-backwards, necessitating a “need” to try avoid your best pitchers in some of the tightest situations?
I’m not sure that Girardi would do something differently. Remember Game 5 of ALCS last year, when it was 7-0 rays in the 5th or the 4th and they have basesloaded no out. Francona brought in Papelbon in that situation and the Red Sox came back to win that game. Why can’t manager do that more often? so frustrating.
You mean, other than the fact that the entire philosophy of relief pitching is ass-backwards, necessitating a “need” to try avoid your best pitchers in some of the tightest situations?
I met one of my professors today. His face slightly looks like Mike Francesa. However, his voice is really close to his and his hairstyle/color is VERY similar. I was kinda freaked out at 1st and annoyed. However, he has a completely different personality as he is very nice and drinks Diet Pepsi instead.
This is his website but his picture there doesnt tell all:
HEY! Where are all the people who wanted Hughes last inning? COME ON! You can’t back down now! You wanted him in there with the Bases loaded, didn’t cha!!!
Right I definitely implied that. Of course I trust Hughes more than any other non Mo pitcher but the reason I quoted ‘The Artist’ because it’s so annoying how a lot of people must complain about every little thing Girardi does in an unimportant game.
Managing is not easy which is what i believe I wanted to be said again. I don’t know how in the world that translates into a implication that I have more confidence with Bruney than Hughes.
well the idea is to use your best reliever in the first high leverage situation presented in late innings. that will increase your chances of winning a game. obviously, nothing is perfect but girardi’s move was questionable, at least according to my philosophy.
Buchholz actually has performed quite well as a starter…Chamberlain’s had injury concerns since he was drafted and at times looks like a shittier Ian Kennedy. Hughes just blew a lead, fuck him.
I was somewhat curious as to how much of the older comments people read here, partly I was pissed at Hughes for blowing the lead (and I view Chamberlain in the same way that RAB views Melky, except I hate him far far more, and hate the Os for laying down for Buchholz, again. I’m also pissed that the Yankees don’t have a starter with Lester’s K-rates.
Ehhh…he’s frustrating. I’ve hated the hype for forever, the injury concerns are bothersome, and he doesn’t have a solid track record. The loss of five ticks off the fastball is puzzling…is what pisses me off the most is that the B-Jobbers may have been accidentally correct.
You guys don’t deal with sarcasm well here, do you? And the name is referencing The Wire. As to Minaya, I remember in 2007 when I told everyone that Steve Phillips was a better GM than he was and they disagreed…I wonder what that debate looks like now.
yeah, like Arod could do that. although, now that the divison is locked up it wouldn’t be so clutch. so i guess there is a better chance that he could do it.
Major straw man FTW! WTF does playoffs have to do with A-Rod never getting walk off hits and if you followed the Yanks you would know he has a few walk offs!
Seriously? Oh man. Wow. It’s going to be great next year with Z-MAC, AJAX, Montero, IPK, Slade, JR, Brackman (?!), Vizcaino, Man-Ban, Romine, De Leon, and at some point, Betances.
I can’t wait. And I’m sure I left some out (like the pitchers we’ve drafted) and others who will break out unexpectedly.
I think Betances will be ready for spring training. Someone on the Rays just had the same procedure and he can back in 6 months. That would put Dellin right around Febuary, assuming there’s no setbacks.
In case you missed it, it was initially reported as TJ but updated to a ligament strengthening procedure that’s less involved.
Yeah, I remember. In fact, I did a write-up of the procedure and other pitchers who had it and their return date in the thread. You might have even thanked me at the time.
That would be weird. But anyway, I still think that it will take him a bit longer because of his size, mechanics, and past injury history. I’m saying he’ll be back in early or mid-May.
Whose season are you most excited for (and you can’t say Jesus) next year?
I’ve always been a big Dellin fan, so I’ll say him, Manny Banny and Z-Mac. I still like IPK too, though I know most have given up on him.
I’ll be shocked if we don’t see Montero, A-Jax, IPK and Z-Mac all get called up at some point next year, even if just for a week or two or in September. You know a few pitchers will get hurt, as will one of the OF’s. They do every year.
Did you guys see that? Tips from Jorge and his wife on how to have a balanced family life? I’m going to go with, “have a smokin’ hot wife that you get to rail ALL THE TIME.”
Oh, btw, my cat pretty much had a heart attack in mid air, I think. I heard this crazy loud thud and figured he knocked something over. I went out to the room, and he was all sprawled out. I figured he hurt his leg or something then he started gasping, wheezing, and convulsing, and a few minutes later, he was dead. It was pretty shitty.
who would use hughes right here and marte in the 8th? that seems like a no brainer to me but i guess your better reliever have a strict 8th and 9th inning role. fucking stupid.
You: Preaching
Us: The choir
Marte’s no slouch, though. Just sayin’.
and bruney?
http://riveraveblues.com/2009/.....ent-572333

Of course, if Bruney fails a couple times it could completely destroy him, but I’d rather have that now than in October.
That too.
This game is a throwaway game. The win is less important than the performances.
Yup.
or fucking bruney. good god.
Beleive it or not, I think Joe knows what he’s doing. Crazy, I know.
Don’t go all Bill James on us here and suggest something logical. Michael Kay says that certain pitchers pitch in certain innings and that’s the way it shuld be.
How many times has Michael Kay said that Navarro was an All Star last year? My Mo.
why is it odd, Kay?
yea, he was an all-star last year, but he has been a Molina-like black hole this year. that 54 is one hell of an OPS+
http://baseball.about.com/od/a.....lstars.htm
Junior Spivey, my man. Junior Spivey.
54?Wow…That’s more like OPS-
Womack-ian
Varitekian.
Tony Pena Jr-ian
in 51 at bats over 40 games this year, he has an OPS+ of -32
this is after putting up an OPS+ of 7 in 225 at bats over 90 games last year
yikes
95 games…I fail copying from b-r
dueling managers.
Brace yourselfs
Why no Ace?
lol bruney?
Hughes can go more than 1.0 IP i want to see him in the 7th
Got home just in time to make the spillover thread.
BTW, I dont know how those of in NY/East Coast do it, commuting with trains and buses for an hour+ is fuckin hard and tiring.
I think of this every time my wife complains about being exhausted about her hour and a half train ride, and yet wants to by a house FURTHER AWAY from the city.
no that is crazy
Meh, she’s a woman, they do that from time to time.
We put up with their contradictory crap because they look good naked.
I haven’t seen/heard from my neighbor (old Romanian lady) for a while. Maybe she’s dead. Move in here; we’re only like 30 minutes from the train.
You’re in Connecticut, right? Sure, I’ll move in.
Let me cut my heart out first. Won’t need it.
Haha, awesome.
Let me say something nice about Connecticut:
It’s not Jersey or Long Island.
You’re welcome.
Connecticut: All the racism of Long Island, but without the trashy people!
heyyy, no picking on jersey
I obviously mean 30 minutes from the city by train (express).
If you grow up with it you think the same thing about driving.
Commuting means u can get fucked up at happy hour after work and A)not have to drive home drunk
B) sober up before comin home to wifey
I think the train is the more common method of transportation in the East Coast/NY area. I don’t know about GCS, but smaller train stations that all connect to GCS aren’t bad, they’re peaceful for the most part. There is always a lot of construction though imo, which makes driving difficult at times, but it isn’t too bad (I’ve had my license for about a month now…)
Al is the fucking man.
Jesus Christ, A-Rod. You want a broken leg?
Firstbaseman-like.
Is he seriously doing this right now?
FIRST BASEMAN.
ugh coke
ohhh Shit!! Ha Joe workin the pen. Coke has a shot to move back up the pecking order here.
Welcome to two lefties in the bullpen playoff baseball.
Girardi’s trying to out old-man Maddon.
lol Coke. If Coke gives up a walk, Girardi will go to Hughes and use 5 pitchers in one inning. Just put Hughes in now.
This game is trivial. Getting Bruney and Coke a chance to get better >>>>> Hughes getting meaningless innings.
When did Tony LaRussa take over for Girardi?
THis is a scary moment. Comon Coke, it’s just one out!
I don’t like this match-up,Coke vs. Aybar.Hope it works out.
Hughse might not even be available today.
He pitched 1.1 yesterday.
Hughes***
shit only 1 yesterday. my bad
Gaudin saying comon dude
Ka-rap
damn coke… seriously??
coke stinks right now
i hope Joe doesn’t overmanage like this in the playoffs.
True, 2 men on, no outs no runs, THE HORRORRRRRRRRRRRR
Joe’s using September to weed out the trustworthy from the untrustworthy.
So that when he makes a pitching change in October, it’s for an upgrade and not a downgrade.
No biggie.
Alright, Phil. Buckle it down and get Aki.
I prefer Coke classic to new Coke.
Yep. But he needs a chance to get back to classic Coke. They need to take advantage of a 9 game lead.
Agreed. Two lefties that are effective will be a nice weapon come Oct.
Is it my imagination, or have the bats really been shattering all over the place the last few games?
Last few years.
Less ash, more maple, and thinner handles, thicker ends (TWSS).
I say ban the fuck out of both of them, go back to old bats. Better for the environment, lowers home runs.
Fewer home runs = less scoring = less revenue for baseball
Why not go to aluminum bats? No shattered bats and even David Eckstein could hit home runs.
You think someone is gonna die with wood bats? Switch to aluminum.
Yeesh.
I assumed the Eckstein comment would demonstrate my sarcasm.
The part about revenue still stands. Fewer home runs would cost baseball money, so they will be slow to adopt anything that reduces power numbers.
Yeah, but I mean really shattering and splintering, like someone is going to get killed.
Coke vs. Aki = better match-up.
ATTABOY COKIE!!
GREAT JOB!
ON TO TEH 8TH!
Its so nice to have a bull pen that actually works.
i love in play out(s)
Yes!
But guys, it wouldnt have mattered if they scored anyway. Runs only count in the 8th inning, remember? That’s why Hughes didnt come in to that 2-on, no-out situation.
Inning over… finally
Nice one Coke. It wasn’t pretty but it got done.
No snark or sarcasm:
I feel very good about that four-pitcher inning.
VERY good.
I’m very aroused.
/Brian Fantana’d
The Yankees pen is like Sex Panther: 60% of the time, it works every time.
as long as it is viewed as an experiment, I do too.
We got into trouble because a pitcher who would NEVER pitch 6+ innings in October pitched 6+ innings tonight. And then three pitchers who we’d count on coming into a sticky situation and thriving came into a sticky situation and thrived.
That’s why it’s a good scenario.
You mean, other than the fact that the entire philosophy of relief pitching is ass-backwards, necessitating a “need” to try avoid your best pitchers in some of the tightest situations?
This game is unimportant. If Bruney and Coke can become good again then that would be incredibly awesome. They need to pitch.
They can’t become good in the 8th and 9th when the bases are empty?
Of course they can but if they can pitch effectively under a high leverage situation then that would be even better.
Probably not.
We need to know that they can pitch in these situations. If we never put them in these situations, we’ll never know until it’s too late.
I’m not sure that Girardi would do something differently. Remember Game 5 of ALCS last year, when it was 7-0 rays in the 5th or the 4th and they have basesloaded no out. Again,
You: preaching
Us: the choir
Completely agree.
Hmmmm, but I may detect a bit of mordancy there…I’m not quite sure.
hey its a preview of the playoffs
Bingo.
Marte + Coke is a nice luxury. Big thing now is to spread the work around, and use the next few weeks to figure out your playoff pen.
Rudy lookin’ good in the new Stadium

Price looked great tonight.
Located his fb very well.
“the Yanks are fortunate to have the lead in this ballgame.”
No Flash, they’re just good.
I feel that–and I’m blaspheming here–I have more confidence in hughes than I do in Mo. I can’t explain it, I just do.
Well that’s just silly.
You’re a racist; that’s what it is.
ietc
you are aware that Mo has one blown save at Yankee stadium in the past four years, right?
what does that have to do with phil hughes?
nothing, but why the lack of confidence in Mo?
i didnt say i dont have confidence in him. i said i have more confidence in hughes.
Heretic.
Have fun in Hell.
First Commandment:
I am the Mo your Mo.
Second Commandment:
Thou shalt have no other Mos before me.
Philly is but a mere mortal.
Shades of v.2007 Joba. . .
This is Mo’s world. Remember that.
You were saying what about Phil vs. Mo?
Kill yourself
I think Iwamura is moving well after knee surgery.
Did I mention, Iwamura is moving well after knee surgery?
Ugh, Kay AND Flaherty is brutal.
Did you know that Nick Swisher hits many more homers on the road than at home? And, Dioner Navarro was an All-Star last year.
I’ve heard that Paul O’Neil likes to eat.
When Jeter dh’s, he’s a pest in the clubhouse.
Nick Swisher always has a full count
“When I go home at night, I cry myself to sleep on my huuuuge pillow.”
-Michael Kay’s inner thoughts
I remember Singleton and Cone wasn’t awful
Melky was definitely out.
oh well, TO TEH 8th!
speechless…
I thought Hughes never gave up runs in relief?
Damn, yo.
Me no like.
Phil!
well shit. i recant all the bullshit i said about phil hughes over Mo. fuck
HAHAHAHAHAHA girardi pwns everybody here
ietc
holy shit
that was depressing
Oh well, gotta give up a run sometime.
Sterling just shat his pants.
Or maybe that’s me.
eh, it’s bound to happen sometimes, get it out ya system Phil for october.
Hughes missed his spot pretty badly on that one.
I just wish it was to an actual good hitter. I don’t buy Bartlett’s year at all.
https://twitter.com/yesmichaelkay/status/3853650091
Awesome. It always sounded familiar, but the confirmation is nice.
Well, it was bound to happen sometime.
To teh first!!!11!
Why did everyone want him in the 7th again?
Because the situation called for it?
I’m not your friend, buddy.
i’m not your buddy, guy
well that was unexpected
Who gets the walk-off tonight? I think it’s gonna be Jeets.
Melky duh.
nah, jeter doesn’t hit walk offs any more out of fear of a pie in the face
Jeter does not get pied in the face.
Pies get a faceful of Jeter.
imagine Mo with a pie in the face..
Hughes just wanted to tie the game so the Yankees could score next inning, so he could get the win… it’s obvious!
woops
I guess irony can be pretty ironic sometimes…
Like rain on your wedding day
I believe there’s a clause in the commenting guidelines that says quoting Alanis Morissette lyrics is cause for being banned immediately.
If there isn’t, there should be.
This guy’s a convicted felon, isn’t he Monty?
Doesn’t say so here.
Well he should be.
Heh.
HEY! Where are all the people who wanted Hughes last inning? COME ON! You can’t back down now! You wanted him in there with the Bases loaded, didn’t cha!!!
Not easy to manage, huh?
Not easy to manage, huh?
I just wanted to repeat this so it can be heard again.
Nevermind that shit, we’re on to the next topic:
Phil Hughes sucks and I knew it all along. This proves it.
Teh bust!!!
91 MPH Fatsball!!
are you seriously saying that you have more confidence in marte or brueny with men on 1st and 2nd, no one out? is that what you’re implying?
Right I definitely implied that. Of course I trust Hughes more than any other non Mo pitcher but the reason I quoted ‘The Artist’ because it’s so annoying how a lot of people must complain about every little thing Girardi does in an unimportant game.
Managing is not easy which is what i believe I wanted to be said again. I don’t know how in the world that translates into a implication that I have more confidence with Bruney than Hughes.
At least those people were first guessing, which is a fair thing to do. The decision just didn’t work out, which is part of managing.
What really bugs me are all the guys who are geniuses after the fact.
well the idea is to use your best reliever in the first high leverage situation presented in late innings. that will increase your chances of winning a game. obviously, nothing is perfect but girardi’s move was questionable, at least according to my philosophy.
teh apocalypse is upon us!
this game’s on me for angering the Great Mo.
That’s what you get for tempting Mo.
+1
DFA’d
we’re winning this one
Mo is gonna straight up MURDER YOUR ASS!!!
There is only one rule, no touching of the hair or face. And that’s it!
Hughes is human after all…
he’s a starting pitcha
Seeing Hughes cough up the lead has silenced this crowd.
Wow… Longoria almost broke the earth… but restrained himself.
I think he wanted to slam it but then realized he liked that bat and didn’t want to risk breaking it.
There it is. It’s only a W taken away for Gaudin. No bigs.
Sweet DP there.
Cano is sooo sick
Pena has a strong arm for a little dude.
HELL YEAH ZOBRIST.
Player of the game!
Great job getting outta that Phil!
TO TEH BOTTOM!
that was a great job? please…
comprehension fail
he didn’t get out of the inning. he gave up a run. it can’t be a great job getting out of it then.
Getting out of it. After a leadoff homer then a CC single. It was a great job “getting outta that.”
Did you guys actually think we’d have another homestand without a walk-off?
this is all just set up for a jeter walkoff in the 11th. too bad it won’t be a record breaking hit.
As long as the Yankees are winning Jeter doesn’t care if he gets the hit or not.
Yeah…
… sort of. But probably not really.
i wanna see that pie in his face before this season ends.
walk off homer by damon in extra innings, i’m callin it
It would not bother me if Derek waits til Friday.
Red Sox pounding the Orioles into the ground… Why is it they only show up at home??
Maybe the Fountain of Grit is hidden in the bowels of Fenway
Heh, Jeets, welcome to the Non-Jeter-Division strikezone.
If Phil Hughes was in the rotation he wouldn’t be able to blow games.
C’mon Dj. Give the fans something tonight …
Lester > Buchholz > Hughes > Chamberlain
Almost right.
Joba > Hughes.
Don’t forget Bard, silly.
Hmm…
Yes, no, no, and no.
Buchholz actually has performed quite well as a starter…Chamberlain’s had injury concerns since he was drafted and at times looks like a shittier Ian Kennedy. Hughes just blew a lead, fuck him.
I laughed.
And the stats disagree with your assessment on Buchholz.
wow i hope you’re kidding, especially the last sentence. and even if you are, that’s still a dumb thing to say
Oh come on. It’s just an emotional reaction while the wound is fresh. We all do that from time to time. Plus, I don’t think he was 100% serious.
Jon Lester as a 23 Y.O:
4.57 ERA, 1.460 WHIP, 7.1 K/9, 4.4 BB/9, 1.4 HR/9
Joba Chamberlain as a 23 Y.O:
4.41 ERA, 1.529 ERA, 7.7 K/9, 4.4 BB/9, 1.1 HR/9
Does the myth that lefties take longer to develop have any validity?
THAT.JUST.HAPPENED.
Also there’s two key stats that you’re forgetting.
Lester as a 23 Y.O.
Times beaten Cancer: 1
4-0, Chamberlain as a 23 Y.O.
8-5 Times beaten Cancer: 0
Lester also had the better ERA+
Don’t forget the grit factor.
Lester was sick? Since when?
lester/buckholz are older than hughes/chamberlain (and let’s forget that lester looked like joba not too long ago)
why are you bothering to say that here. and i disagree. joba and hughes > buchholz
Why hate Joba?
Because he’s not a CY winner this year, obviously. He should be perfect in his first full season as a starter.
Umm he’s fat, drunk, doesn’t care about the team, a baby… etc etc.
Shitty control, overhyped, injury prone as hell, and throws 92.
Young pitchers struggle, young pitchers struggle, and patience is key.
23
wait a minute, what’s your last name? does it start with an m and end with an a?
Are you trying to steal his job, too?!?!
You guys don’t deal with sarcasm well here, do you? And the name is referencing The Wire. As to Minaya, I remember in 2007 when I told everyone that Steve Phillips was a better GM than he was and they disagreed…I wonder what that debate looks like now.
i’m really pissed at everyone on the yankees too, they fucking suck. if they had lester and bucholz, they’d easily be 80 games over 500 by now.
+1
hes mocking you.
…
DNFTT
Ooooh, Randy Choad. Nice.
We love our walkoffs.
Derek Jeter makes me crazy.
/all Yankee fans’d
No hit for you! One year.
My God, the guy seriously cannot get a fucking hit
Jeter’s BABIP is regressing to the mean a bit, huh?
he’s at his career average.
Are you fuckin’ kidding me, Johnny?
holy shit
Alright, this is getting ridiculous. I’m going to start punching babies soon if Jeter doesn’t get a hit.
wow that was an awesome play by choate
Who’s the guy in the golf shirt
Give Jeter the day off tomorrow.
Choker.
He WANTED That walk, you could see it in his eyes. He’s scared to swing the bat.
My interpretation of that replay of Tino, watching Jeter’s at-bat from the luxury box:
“There it is! Get down! Shit! I’ll be at the fuckin’ bar.”
What’s jeter hitting since his last day off?
One hit does not a record make. Jeter needs 3 to tie and 4 to score.
Though the coverage and the crowd reaction would lead one to believe otherwise. Bizarre.
At this point, everyone has forgotten about the record and is simply showing up to will Jeter to have one more hit before the season is through.
A-rod walkoff PLEASE!
yeah, like Arod could do that. although, now that the divison is locked up it wouldn’t be so clutch. so i guess there is a better chance that he could do it.
Yeah, not like he already has a walk-off this year, and a game-tying bottom of the ninth bomb.
Two walk-off homers.
and that clutch HR against Lidge in the 9th
yeah, like Arod could do that.
Lolwut? Sarcasm?
I know right, it’s not like he has 8 walk-off hits as a Yankee?
Go call into the Fan with that garbage.
how many does he have in the playoffs? wait, how many RBI does he have in the playoffs in ’05, ’06, ’07?
So I see you’ve completed your full heel turn.
Major straw man FTW! WTF does playoffs have to do with A-Rod never getting walk off hits and if you followed the Yanks you would know he has a few walk offs!
Leche gonna win this shit, fo sho.
Nah.
I’ma go with a Swish walk off.
It’s Swisher, so he can only have a walk-off strikeout, home run or walk. THESE ARE THE RULES, OKAY?
he’s up 5th in the inning so it could happen, walk off single works
Oooooo his most embarrassing moment, oooooo!!
:giggles:
Hopefully it doesn’t involve Melky.
Everytime a Yankee pitcher gets 2 strikes, I get greedy for a K but I’ll take outs too I guess.
Ugh, thats twice now for Mo. But its better than hits I guess.
Home plate ump has been pretty good tonight. It is sad when that is viewed as an accomplishment.
Big zone but he’s been very consistent for both teams. Can it really be so hard that others cannot do it? Really. I don’t get it.
I thought he had a low zone, but it was consistent at least.
Mariano doesn’t like having his groin watched closely. He wants to get this shit done.
lets get this win in the ninth. mo’s stats would look even better if he was 2-2
Mo pwning the All Star.
WALK OFF TIME!!
i hope JP pitches the 9th. He has been absolutely shitty this year.
mo looked great!
Yes he did.
God
Who’s taking whom for the walk-off hit? I’ll take Robbie.
Leche.
Let’s make Mo’s record 2-2 please and get pied in the face.
It’s about time for a melky walkoff hit.
I don’t understand. How can A-Rod have all those walk-off HRs if he’s never clutch?
that dude is a hater
WHO DIDN’T SEE THAT COMING!
It would be great if Swish got some Yankee Stadium pie. He also might be the first person to pie himself.
That left the park just as I hit send!
http://riveraveblues.com/2009/.....ent-573004
STEVE H, WHERE YOU AT?!?!?
who called it?
MIKE POP FTW!
SwishahousE!
Melky totally had it in the bag if Swish didn’t steal it from him.
No doubt. Melky always has the walk-off magic ready.

OH shit who called NICK SWISHER?!?!
Mike Pop is a freaking psychic
ANOTHER walkoff
What a great pie!
Hahahahahah!! You just knew a Nick Swisher walk off would be understated and low key.
Swish, All mothafuckin net bitches.
And the bitching is done for the day!
Mike Pop wins it on a walk-off comment, to receive one free internet. More on this story as it develops…
New York Yankees = good at baseball
Road Warrior Comes Home.
Honestly though, the real storyline here is how the bullpen failed us. I’m worried bout the team.
Wait.
You’re pulling our legs, right?
Don’t worry, it’s just Alex Gonzales posting under Pops’ name. It’s all a rouse.
Ya.
That joke was fierce though, was it not.
You know who gives you props tonight?

You know who gives you props tonight?
Damn, JMK.
oh brother
hughes has been shutdown for so long he was bound to have a bad outing… our bullpen is fine!
I assume this is sarcasm, but in case I’m wrong:
1 run in 3 innings equals a 3.00 ERA
Special Request to Joe-Mike-Ben
Whoever writes the recap tonight, I need me a picture of Swish covered in whipped cream as the header.
+1000000000
for Wilson Betemit?
Brian Cashman – 1
Kenny Williams – 0
Thank you Cashman, that was one of the greatest trades.
Best trade of the offseason.
2nd.
Javy Vazquez has to come in at 1.
Oh true. But what did the Braves give up to get him? Anything good?
Chicago’s return to be Flowers, Lillibridge, third baseman Jon Gilmore, and pitcher Santos Rodriguez.
http://www.mlbtraderumors.com/.....serio.html
Flowers is pretty legit, no?
Javy has just been FAN-tastic this year though.
Yeah, Flowers is putting up good numbers in AAA (.939 OPS) and Rodriguez has a 14.5 K/9 between 3 games at A and 19 at the rookie league.
Swisher WAR – 3.4
Vazquez – 5.4
But Cash made a stealth move. But damn man, ATL has a DEEP farm system.
Hmm, I just looked it up. Two of the guys are actually putting up good numbers in the Minors.
Swisha was fucking awesome
It’s been a relatively rough day; thanks for the pick up, Swish.
I . . . . I just realized something.
No DotF tonight.
*sniff*
That’s what YOU think.
Seriously? Oh man.
They do every year.
zoilo with the go ahead homer for SI, and TY yanks are ridiculous, even without B-Suttle
Nick Swisher is the greatest Yankee of all time.
Did you guys see that? Tips from Jorge and his wife on how to have a balanced family life? I’m going to go with, “have a smokin’ hot wife that you get to rail ALL THE TIME.”
Don’t forget having a hundred million or so in the bank.
I’ve heard rumors they are swingers too. With the teammates.
The videotapes are pretty wild.
I left out: “In that gold pit a certain animated duck used to swim in”.
Damn, I loved that show.
OH FUCK YOU RUSS SALZBERG FUCK YOUUUUUUUU
For all the talk about bad GMs, Kenny Williams doesn’t get mentioned often enough…and I’m glad as hell for it.
Side note: Is Wilson Betemit even on an active roster?
He’s playing very crappily for their AAA team, I believe.
I assume Jeff Marquez is still, well…Jeff Marquez, no?
Ya know what’s great. There’s this thing called google. It’s right here on the Internet. Easy to use, and everything.
Every time I type something in my Google toolbar it brings up all this awesome porn I have searched for in the past and get I sidetracked.
That’s not awesome.
Ever see something called “octopus girl?”
9.85 ERA in 11 starts at AAA. Nunez is having a good year, though.
Winning a world series generally gets you a pass for a few years. Especially when that win breaks 90 some years of futility.
Kenny Williams is not a bad GM.
he’s crazy, but he’s not terrible.
lol, BBTN goes on to praise Swisher, then Melky.
Chris Singleton finished it off with, “and Melky’s been able to stay over 300, all year long.”
BBTN FAIL
Drew FAIL!
He said, Melky’s presence has helped Cano to have a good season. He’s quietly stayed above .300 all yr long.
;0
ah shit.
How has Melky helped Cano’s season?
(NONE OF THAT, RABers!)
YES has the post game
Morneau wOBA – .374 , Swisher – .374
Beast
great pitching by gaudin tonight
Oh, btw, my cat pretty much had a heart attack in mid air, I think. I heard this crazy loud thud and figured he knocked something over. I went out to the room, and he was all sprawled out. I figured he hurt his leg or something then he started gasping, wheezing, and convulsing, and a few minutes later, he was dead. It was pretty shitty.
I’m sorry man.
Thanks dude. I got a job today, so I guess it kinda balances out.
That really came out of left field.
Sorry bout the cat bro.
Dela G asked in an earlier thread what happened. Should’ve mentioned that, haha.
I lost a cat in similar fashion a little over a year ago. It was very sad. My condolences to you.
Sorry about that cat that sucks.
Late on this but awesome, awesome magic number picture.
Just gonna say that.
Anyone else think there was a bit of a double entendre (sp?) from Kim when she asked Swisher how the pie was?
You’re bad – but I like it.
BTW – You spelled it correctly.
